Japan's copyright laws are less strict and in general I think Japanese companies are less aggressive about this kind of thing. I doubt there's any major people who worked on Utena on the staff but maybe there is. I don't think that would fix anything though even if it were true.

I finished Arigatou by Naoki Yamamoto recently. It was a strange blend of dark/serious subject matter and humorous execution.

I just started reading this and I'm in the middle of volume 2. It is very strange in that it could be a somewhat normal comedy manga but because of the author it has gratuitous content in it. It is funny though. I think I also like the art here more than Believers, though this came earlier.

I also moved onto reading Gingitsune in Japanese. I'm almost caught up with what raws I can find and plan on buying the last few volumes to finish it. I'm really glad I'm able to read this series since it hasn't been lucky with people translating it. It deals so much with how people who are in contact with the spiritual world have to balance that interaction with living their normal lives as humans. Now that I think about it, Natsume's Book of Friends deals with similar things. Though Gingitsune does it through religions (specifically Shinto) and Natsume does it through youkai. I think I like Gingitsune's execution better too. It's a shame I wasn't able to be caught up with the series while it was running, but at the same time I'm glad it was able to finish since there was a period where the mangaka went on hiatus for more than a year.

The lawyer in chapter 400 has one of my favorite powers introduced in this arc. Along with Lynch.

Favorite manga of the above is probably Planetes, though Bokura wa Minna Kawai-sou was a nice surprise with how much I enjoyed it. Favorite anime was Doremi Dokkaan. Such a great franchise that managed to stay strong until the end. Das Finale was also great and I really enjoyed Healer Girl and I'm glad I was watching it weekly as it came out. I might have enough time to finish some more short manga, and some other anime I'm watching right now will end this week. I'm mostly just trying to cut down on my to read list, though it still keeps growing.

I'm also following a bunch of manga as they come out. Shimeji Simulation being my favorite. Several series I'm reading are winding down but because of their release schedules may still take a while. Hidamari Sketch, Houseki no Kuni, Cardcaptor Sakura Clear Card, Dungeon Meshi, and Tengoku Daimakyou all seem to be in or near their ends. Then it'll be time for me to pick up more, though several manga I'd wanted to read while they were ongoing have since finished.

So Laios is about to eat the winged lion (possessing his original body). In the notes on the monster he is right now it says that no magic will work on the monster. I wonder if the demon powers count as magic like that, so once the demon is in Laios' monster body he can't get out.

Pleasantly surprised at how intact Bohemian Rhapsody was. Stuff was cut, sure, but I was expecting more to be changed. I saw that Sky High and Underworld are single episodes though which is kind of disappointing. Especially for Underworld, which I like a lot and I think it's my favorite of the 3 son stands. Not binging it so it'll be a bit before I finish the rest of the episodes.

I'm most of the way through Bokura wa Minna Kawaisou. It's pretty great. Completely different than I was expecting. I was expecting something more subdued but it's a pretty silly comedy romcom series. With the comedy mostly consisting of sex jokes. Though even then the characters are pretty good. I'm also catching up as much as I can with GochiUsa and Kill Me Baby, which are two 4koma manga I've been meaning to read for forever. In general I've been going through my to read list starting with shorter series and going to longer series. I'm at the past 10 volumes part and getting kind of intimidated seeing the volume count get past 20 and into the 30s.

Still waiting for some of the manga I'm following to end to pick up more ongoing series. GoshiUsa and Kill Me Baby are ongoing though I guess. Neither are caught up with their translations though I don't think. Plus I've been attempting to read some manga in Japanese and have a sizable to read list for that too. With regards to that I finished Pani Poni's manga in Japanese. I think it's better than the anime for the most part. I'd seen comments about how the manga's chapters are short and disconnected but it has quite a few somewhat long arcs. Though I guess those comments are because those arcs are in the part of the manga that hasn't been translated yet.

Witch From Mercury isn't doing anything for me at the moment. I don't known if I'll feel like continuing after another few episodes unless something changes.

The new season of Pop Team Epic is surprisingly good. I really like its opening too. I'm also finally getting around to the final season of Ojamajo Doremi. The power levels in this series are kind of out of control and have been since the first series, but it usually manages to push them to the side.

I've heard a lot about the ending to the last series so I'm interested in what happens. This is the last TV season but there's still a 13 episode OVA and a movie that came out only a couple years ago.
