@Doggggggiestyle:
it was an jokish response to your somewhat melodramatic (also hilarious) post
Well I am glad that I can make you laugh kid.
On another note, I don't think my post was melodramatic at all….I am not much for exaggeration....

@Doggggggiestyle:
like we care if how Luffy feels like
Err….I am not going to even bother touching this one...:getlost:
I feel like the arguments about Ace being Emo and not forgiving his father is going in circles.
The point is that Ace is dead. None of these points are going to take from the loss and the pain that Luffy is enduring right now.
Ace was honorable and loved…he will be missed by many and remembered by few (in the OP world)
Is it what a great person is supposed to do? No. That's what makes him an emo wimp.
And thats why he isn't the main character :)
And thats why he is dead.
And thats why Oda chose to kill him first…to make an example outta him!
/sarcasm
Ace has had a rough childhood.
I completely agree with Ivotas on the fact that Ace owes some debt of gratitude to his blood father Roger, as it is true that Rogers sacrifice saved Ace and allowed him to have a "life"….it just wasn't an easy one.
Which brings us to why Ace is a troubled individual aka Bastard. He really wasn't raised by choice people...I wouldn't even consider Garp to be a choice parent for any kid...obviously since he threw Ace and Luffy to be raised by criminals and we see just how criminal they are with this chapter and Dandan telling Luffy that he is going to have to steal and murder and not to tell Garp about anything.
Ace seems to have spent his developing years around negative influence on top of being the son of a extremely hated man...an easy life waved "BYE! BYE!" to the little bastard a long time ago.
Although Ace SHOULD appreciate Roger...he doesn't/didn't.....oh well. Hope Luffy learns from his mistakes.
the past doesnt define luffy like it did w the other chars.
Is this guy serious?
You know why you say that Luffy's past doesn't define him? BECAUSE YOU DON'T KNOW HIS FULL PAST and NOW YOU WILL so sit down and ENJOY IT.
oooooooooooh, you were kidding. i thought you really had to get up and walk away from your computer.
i think tearing up is one thing, but getting up because things got a bit too emotional for you.. especially in a manga… unheard of. that or i'm just trolling, but i think it's that.
on related terms, i recall 2 breaks around xmas/new years time, like what deicide said
Well let me clarify this a little more.
Yes, I did get up three times while reading the chapter. Part of the reasons were because of the emotional scenes but thats not WHY I got up. I got some soda, then I took a piss, then I put the cup in the sink. Feeling the emotion just motivated me to do so….it's hard to explain but I think it's easier saying that the chapter made me get up three times.
you're just fucking homosexual…
and gay. . . . . . . . .
And gets more pussy then you two kids combined
LOL WTF ITS A MANGA, HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH :ninja:
It's highly situational, really.
For instance if you thoroughly enjoy eating shit, I wouldn't judge but you'd definately be categorized in the "scat monkey" section of people I know.
What a wonderful example. :wassat:
In the same way some people could consider that "crying hard over a manga, and not even the most emotional part of it", is an action to be categorized under the "probably has no life" section of the people they know. This is derived of the notion that people who get that emotional over fiction are generally not getting enough of it in their lives, that is, not living enough, hence the "no life" accusations. The other possibilities are that you are a woman, gay, or a very sensitive manly man. I like to consider myself that last one.
It's mostly semantics. Don't listen to them and get your manly tear fix from anything you want. Even if its eating shit.
I don't judge people…not my job and im not getting paid for it. Crying over manga chapters may be a little extreme for my taste, although there may be some exceptions to it.
I had to walk away...so what? Im attached to the charactes, especially Luffy. I imagine the suffering he is going through right now and then it starts to get me to think about my older brother and how I would feel if he died in front of me (let alone murdered).
This chapter serves as another extraordinary example of the amazing talent Oda possesses.
Honestly when I first read the chapter, I had to walk away three times after seeing the painful emotions that were running through Luffy. Oda made it a point to really emphasize how hurt and lost Luffy is. He took his time creating those crying faces which is the type of crying face a person would have when losing a brother, I know I would bawl like that when that day comes for me (God Forbid).
I can sense the hurt, anger and frustration on top of the fact that there was nothing Luffy could or can do about his brothers death….not anything to bring him back anyway.
Luffy needs to channel this emotion and rid the hatred! Hatred is only going to get him and his loved ones killed. If he can find some way to channel those negative emotions as fuel for his dream then we can expect to see some amazing things.
LOL WTF ITS A MANGA, HAHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAAH :ninja:
And what exactly is your point? Are you trying to say that there is something wrong with someone enjoying something to the fullest?
You know your addicted to One Piece….
When you see retarded Naruto headband/gear wearing teens on the train whom state that they have only watched 20 episodes of Naurto (all dub) and you spend the whole ride trying to convince them to watch One Piece....and you spoil Naruto for them when they tell you OP is kiddie
When you get a tattoo of the SH symbol (or any other pirate flag) on your back.
When you keep OP AMV's on your iPhone/iPod Touch/Mobile Media device for a routine watch in your travels
When you hear a bad ass rock song and automatically picture a OP AMV you can make out of it.
When you contemplate trying to animate manga chapters because you cant wait for Toei/Funimation to release it.
When you walk around aimlessly in Japan hoping you would run into Oda and he actually let you hug him.
When you buy Rosetta Stone just to learn Japanese so you can translate spoilers faster.
I understand.
However, with Whitebeard on top, every Pirate Crew in the New World that had a legitimate chance at claiming One Piece was in a perpetual stalemate and the only logical end before Ace was captured was for Whitebeard to die of old age.
The World Government was just happy to keep things as they are, which was a balance between Pirates, Schichibukai and the Marines and ensure nobody got too close to obtaining One Piece.
Now there is complete chaos, the Marines will be busier then ever and there is a leadership vacuum now that the old man is dead and a strong New World Pirate Crew is going to attempt to fill that vacuum.
Everytime there is a major event, some will benefit and others won't and I think guys like Blackbeard, Doflamingo and all those Silver and Bronze Medalist are now happy that Whitebeard is gone his crew drastically weakened.
Well put and I don't disagree with you on this one BUT…
Although it may seem like BB, Don and those Silver/Gold Medalists are at a benefit technically, we can safely assume that these benefits will turn into maledictions because of the (future) actions of Luffy and the SH crew.
If this was a world with no hero then OP is all game. However now that these recent events have transpired, we can expect Luffy and Co. to be a threat to those benefits and to the (evil) pirates who seem liberated from Whitebeards death.
I have no doubt Luffy will encounter a "good hearted" (or something along that line) pirate whom has his/her heart set on OP. I don't expect Luffy (in the end) to express and act the same toward this person as opposed to a ruthless no good pirate who will destroy and kill anything/one in his/her way.
Oda has gone to show us that in anything and everything there is good and bad. (Good pirates/Bad Pirates - Good Marines/Bad Marines)
so she cannot be blamed for his aspirations but she certainly didn't help.
If you are insinuating that I fully blame Dandan for inspiring Luffy and Ace into becoming pirates then you are wrong.
I just find it ironic that Garp would leave his grandson to a criminal rather than another Marine if anyone. Like you said though, there has to be a logical reason as to why Garp trusts her.
Also, isn't the idea of the "seas getting worse" very subjective and depends on which side of the law you are on? For the Marines and the citizens in the Grand Line, things have gotten worse but for Pirates, I am not sure if it all that catastrophic and dare I say, welcomed.
I am sorry but I must disagree. True that the citizens of the world are in for an era of danger and negativity but pirates MIGHT even have it worst.
You might be thinking of the crews that are now inspired into finding One Piece after hearing it confirmed from WB mouth. Now that there are alot more "pirates" growing balls and heading toward One Piece, that will increase not only the violence against citizens but also most definitely increase the violence between pirates themselves.
At the same time the pirates of old and new now have to worry more about the Marines and the WG, since they have just witnessed how serious justice is to them.
This chapter serves as another extraordinary example of the amazing talent Oda possesses.
Honestly when I first read the chapter, I had to walk away three times after seeing the painful emotions that were running through Luffy. Luffy needs to channel this emotion and rid the hatred! Hatred is only going to get him and his loved ones killed. If he can find some way to channel those negative emotions as fuel for his dream then we can expect to see some amazing things.
Another thing I noticed is that Oda wants us to see how strong the tides of time are and that in just two weeks after the war, the sea has already changed and is continuing to change for the worst day by day. We can see how chaotic things can get when the balance is broken which can be a nice foreshadowing of how much worst things will/can get for the OP world.
I am expecting the next one to two chapters to be about this flashback.
I find it interesting that Garp would leave his grandson to a group of criminals to raise. It's either they take care of the children or go to jail? Are these people really the right role models for the likes of Luffy and Ace? I think it's kinda obvious why they didn't end up to be marines like Garp wished for them.
Man I have waited so long for this moment. I was wondering when the hell Gon was gunna murder Pitou.
I knew that all his emotions were building up inside for something big, I never thought it would force him to grow!!!! Let alone have that crazy long ass hair (which im not tooooo thrilled about).
I love to see an older Gon but I hope he doesn't stay like that or else it would look retarded.
Planning to start soon!
Hey yaw,
Trying to do a recording today around 7-8pm EST time. Lemme know who is available for it!
Anyone wishing to volunteer can hit me up on here or on Skype (Sagemaster2000)
HAHAHA!
Well I think it's safe to say that even Oda doesn't like Moria. I know Moria fans are livid right now! HAHAHAH! This is priceless.
I for one LOVE the fact that he is considerably shorter than all of his foes….it's like Punch-Out DF Style! To think of it, Luffy KINDA looks like Little Mac!!!
Him being shorter and being able to crack your jaw and punch your face in to death makes him EVEN MORE BADASS!
Hey, Sage, is there anything special I need to do to become "staff?"
Generally in order to become staff you would have to undergo an interview process. TGIF! Once im home I can hit you up on Skype and we can talk.
!REMINDER!
All those who are interested in participating in the Bleach and Naruto segments of the show please contact me here or on Skype (Sagemaster2000) ASAP. If I do not have enough participants then the segment will be cut from this weeks show.
@Don:
guys, we will see whos online on saturday and on sunday..whenever it is okay to make a session there will be one..when not we still have the other termin.
so when you`re at home just be online and we will see what we can do on a saturday and on a sunday…@Sage: maybe on saturday it
s the opportunity to do the recording with the bleach-guys orso..when this is possible it wouldn
t be bad
Good man. This is why your a Gorousei :)
Sat and Sun sounds great! Glad that everyone is available! Sweetness
Sage, are you going to want me to do the interview process with you as well. I did it with OPU, and everything went fine, but since you're the head honcho…...
No need, if Xander approves then I am sure you will be fine.
In light of my new job, I will have to move the recording sessions to the weekend from here on out. I remember Don suggesting Sundays.
I need to find out which day is best for everyone (Fri, Sat, or Sun). I am aware of the possibility of not everyone being available on those specific days and I am open to doing multi-sessions within those 3 days and putting it together.
Let me know guys.
Hehe, wow. I am alive.
Don hit it right on the nose. I haven't been around this week had some things to take care of and I start a new job tomorrow. The G Summit is FAR from dead. Things should continue this coming week hopefully.
I gotta feel it out, but we should definitely think about a general limit. 2 1/2 hours is def too much.
Finally recording our pilot!
@Don:
i would say we should do it always on wednesday(when the chap is out to that time) or maybe on sunday cause there most of the guys should be bale to have an hour for recording..^^
Yeah, I definitely have to gather the guys together and figure out the best day and time to do it. No one likes last minute changes. Once we get the pilot off the ground we should be able to set a definite ongoing date.
Also, just wanted to welcome you to our staff! I very much enjoyed our conversation and I definitely look forward to having your input on the show bro!!
By the way, the Intro is amazing!!!
I might suggest waiting until next week to do a pilot. We could organize something for wed / thurs night next week after all the chapters have been released.
With the date and time set in stone a week or so in advance, everyone can move their schedules to be available.
True but I really wanted to get the pilot off the ground this week. I also have to keep in mind people are coming home from work and school at this time. Tonight's recording is set for a little bit later so lets see what happens.
Friday might be the best time to do it anyhow.
Looks like I'm gonna miss this one then, as I don't get off work until 10pm est
I can still join up next week, right?
Sure.
But honestly, by the looks of it right now….due to lack of availability...I might be forced to push the pilot for tomorrow....
Those who are interested in hearing the intro may go here
Here is an update.
Plans for the pilot are still on for tonight. Anyone wishing to participate please contact me. Estimated time for recording is 6-8PM EST.
I just finished creating the intro and everything is looking smooth. Looking forward to hearing from participants!
Some reminders -
Anyone wishing to participate MUST have a working Microphone AND a Skype Account
Listeners and Recorders must be aware that discretion is advised.
I apologize for the lack of communication but I was dealing with a family emergency which will cause me to push the pilot until tomorrow or sometime during the weekend.
All those wishing to participate, please PM me or IM me on Skype (Sagemaster2000) your availability. Judging by that, ill make the decision of when we will be doing the pilot.
I'd join… if only... if only... I can curse... like... 500 times... and say "nigga".
Haha!
All imma say is that im not going to hold my tongue… which is why I have to stress that
Listeners Discretion is Advised
I was planning on starting a pilot episode today/tonight, but I was doing so with the hopes of a chapter being released today. Im not sure if it will be released today or tomorrow.
In either case, I would like to start interviews today and participant screenings today with a POSSIBLE pilot tonight, if not then tomorrow.
I'd have thought a guy calling himself "Mr. Grown Ass Man" wouldn't be adverse to a few farts.
How wrong I was.
Very funny. I would say something but imma just let it go.
@JERK:
There's not a lot of ways to stop someone from phoning in and farting into a receiver.
So YOU think. Stop trolling.
@JERK:
I'm going to phone in and fart into the receiver.
I'd love to see you try my friend.
Well, since you use the scene as your avatar & sig, (plus the inconsistency in your post vs your sig) I figure that it might matters much to you.
Screw the number…I can't get over how he didn't notice throughout is misspelled…lol smh
@mdmartin101:
Eh, sounds interesting. Kinda like a more open voice forum, then a podcast, so it's not a rip off. Haha count me in if you guys are letting anyone in.
Well put my friend. This show is not meant to be a rip-off or meant to compete with anyone/anything else.
We are always looking for participants.
I would also like to remind everyone that there are still staff positions open for the show as well.
PM me or contact me on Skype (Sagemaster2000) for more information!
@Uzumaki_D_Kenichi:
Hey Sage, sorry about yesterday. I got done with the paper around 12:00 my time and went home to crash before I had to get up at 5. I tested the mic this morning when I printed off my paper, and it sounds really good.
Let me know when you want to do the screening. I'm good to go whenever
It's all good bro, school comes first my friend.
Ill see if we can set something up for tonight
This soudns really interesting, i would wanna participate as guest sometime xD? if thats even possible:P. I al least think i dont have a boring monotone voice:P. Check out my youtube reviews xD.
Thank you for your interest.
If you are serious about participating, please make sure you download and create a Skype account and PM me your username. We will take it from there.
Aw cool.
Too bad I'm shy when it comes to talking through skype. And all I really pay attention to is One Piece, Monster, and Haruhi. And two of those have already basically ended so there isn't much predicting to be done. :U
Good luck in your endeavors~
Thanks for the praise.
The Gorousei Summit is going to focus on current ongoing series. Series that have met there end will most likely not be discussed until further down the line when I plan on expanding the show but that is all tentative at the moment.
@Essam:
guys this is out of the disscusion ,
is it real that Akoje is the strongest admiral of the marine i mean stroger than Akain and Kizariu and that said by the 5 elders i dont remember the chapter ??
How is talking about a submarine that is showed in this chapter "out of the discussion"?
And how is your "question" in this "discussion" you speak of?
Anyway.
I am hoping the next chapter follows Luffy, Jimbei, and Law and the climax of the war be shown as flashbacks (to us) along the way.
I can't help this want to get away from the war. I am assuming it's because imo it has gone perfect the way it is…I can't handle anymore epic twists damnit!
My opinion is that the fall of the hat is a sign that Luffy hit the bottom of the abyss. His dreams were crushed and he lost everything he had: his crew, ship, brother, health and will.
I think Luffy will remain in a coma for quite some time and he will recover when the crew is reunited and the hat returned, symbolizing that he's not alone and that he can draw strength from his friends.
Interesting.
I believe the significance (if any) of the whole "Luffy losing his hat" is more of Oda showing how the end of this era was for Luffy. It was a terrible end for the poor boy and now a new Era is upon us. Oda went out of his way to show that this Era ended on a down note for the SH (it's been all juicy goodness for us though….)
Now that Oda has set the tone, we can expect great things and revelations to this new Era. Maybe this is the start of the "Second Half" of OP....lol
Just sayin'......
@Don:
i`ll wait for further instructions and try to get a mike into my hands
Once you get your hands on a mic, hit me up and we will go from there.
@Don:
sounds interesting after all..
i dont have a mike so that would be a prob..but sure no prob who can
t be solved…
how do you guys chose who is fitting and who is not..kind of a test-speaking or what? :happy:well, i would say iam interested so far...so take me on the list.^^
i hope you give soon some more infos when the project getting started and when you decide who can participate.
Microphones are cheap these days. Your Mic doesn't have to be a professional one, hell I am using a Rockband Mic! As long as you can be heard clearly there shouldn't be a problem.
In terms of the screening, we would get in contact with you before the show and get you in a skype call and just shoot the shit with you. If we like what we hear then you can participate. What we are looking for are people who are respectful and mature and down to earth. If you want to become a staff member then there will be an interview process. I will explain that in full to those who are interested in a staff position.
Sounds interesting, as well as the main speakers or the staff it would be a good idea to guest speakers on the show maybe from the forum or all over the place, maybe some kind off call in segment if you use Skype to record it that is.
Absolutely.
Skype will be the medium used for our conversations. Our community interaction is not limited to APforums, but this is where I want to start since I have been a member of this community for years and I have Love for ya.
Episode 2: The Last Days In Paradise Just Released As the headline mentions, The Gorousei Summit's second episode, The Last Days In Paradise, has just been released.
Feel free to check the episode out at our site, which has it available for download and stream. In this episode we did a double chapter review/discussion of chapters 594 and 595. Those discussing in this summit episode are myself, Don Quichotte De Flamingo, PirateBeck, and Redspear.
More as it comes.
**–--------------------------------------------------
The Gorousei Summit**
Hello AP, howz it goin'?
Many may recognize me….many don't....and many can care less....despite all that I am Sage and I have been a One Piece fanatic for years. I have had the idea for The Gorousei Summit for quite some time now and I am ready to start launching this thing off the ground.
What is The Gorousei Summit?
The G-Summit is going to be a weekly voice and/or video discussion of the latest One Piece Manga and Anime releases….further expanding to Naruto, Bleach, Hunter x Hunter and more as the show continues to grow.
Wait…isn't this what One Piece Podcast is doing?
Yes…and no. This show is going to be based on Manga and Anime reviews/predictions/opinions.... we will leave all the extra stuff to OPP. Aside from that, this show is going to be more community based as I want to have the community actively participate in the show. Listeners will have more freedom to speak and voice there own opinions with us. I feel there needs to be a variety for this type of thing and that's exactly what I am doing.
So your saying that just anyone can participate in the show?
Kinda. There will be, of course, a screening process for those who are interested. We aren't going to let just any kid come up on the show and flame/bash and spread there stench of FAIL…I ain't having that. This process will enforce the no flaming rule that we are going to staunchly establish on the show.
Tell me more. Like mentioned earlier, this is going to be a weekly show following the release of the manga chapters. I also want to establish a spoiler show down the line…but that's.....down the line..... This show would further allow the One Piece (as well as other Manga/Anime Communities) to come together and talk about what they love. Many would think that all it would end up to be is kids arguing and cursing at each other about why x series is better than x series...no....im a grown ass man and ill be damned to allow such immaturity to stain my vision.
I will warn that listener discretion will be advised.
This isn't going to be a candy and rainbow show. I am only interested in real people for a real discussion.
The development of the show is well underway and a pilot episode will be started very very soon.
So…Mr. Grown Ass Man....are you the only staff member?
Heh…no. Currently these are the members who are interested in participating/becoming perma staff on the show:
Zik
Wintergt Don Quichotte De Flamingo
PirateBeck
Jackskellinghog
Redspear If anyone is interested in participating or would like to interview for a staff position please feel free to PM me or contact me on Skype: Sagemaster2000
Any questions, comments, or concerns? Feel free to post here and ill get to them as soon as possible.
Thanks for taking the time and checking us out and I hope to hear from some of you in the future.
Episodes are releasing, be sure to check them out.
-Sage
I wish Oda would at least switch it up. I don't mind having spreads but I would also like to see the story pages colored as well…it would be a nice treat im my eyes.
