Loved the way Zoro spoke to Vegapunk. For some reason it never really dawned on my that Zoro would have questions for Vegapunk, most likely in regards to Kuma. I mean it makes sense, especially after Franky explained the situation further once they got back together. Current One Piece kind of gave the feeling that might be over looked.

Or maybe it's not that I didn't think Kuma/Vegapunks motives wouldn't get explained but just that Zoro would specifically have questions about it.

Seeing Jinbe react to Bonnie's claim, the island and the holograms is nice. Gives of further confirmation that he isn't as wordly as he initially appeared. They way he reacted to Bonnie makes me wonder does he know anything about Kuma's situation? He seemed so surprised by the idea that Vegapunk could or maybe would turn a human into an emotionless weapon, you gotta wonder if he has any idea of Kuma's situation or that he might be related to Bonnie. Last chapter she didn't explicitly say anything about Kuma to the group did she?

Lucci has some sense. Assigned to assassinate the most important person on the planet. Aint that some ship.

Oh and Vegapunk saying he has interest in the Straw Hats gets my imagination running wild. Judge/Sanji, Kuma/Zoro, Franky/everything, Devil Fruits in general. It's time we figure it all out!

Yeah I figure it will end up that Vegapunk recreated the fruit's abilities and it can be used for multiple Jinbe Serephim. The idea that Sr Pink could have died in custody is interesting to me mostly for the bit of drama it might bring to Franky after befriending the man during their battle.

And once again it's nice seeing Jinbe somewhat in awe of something. Not too old and hasn't seen it all despite being an "employee" of the government.

You assume thats the problem with Burgess' fruit. Maybe he can strengthen the foundation your home his built on? Increase the strength of weapons or armor? Increase the strength of a password for some silly gags.

Despite Wano personally being One Piece's weakest arc so far I really enjoyed what opening the borders actually meant. Throughout the story from Zou on it kept being repeated over and over and most of the characters didn't even know why Oden wanted the borders open so badly. From the context of our world it doesn't seem that significant. What do they want to do, trade goods and cultural ideas? It all seemed so stupid and half baked up until the very end. When it turned out that it meant literally bringing down giant border walls to release an Ancient Weapon it felt extremely satisfying. The fact that it didn't actually happen per Momo's decision is actually fine for me. Bringing about an Ancient Weapon just yet might feel like the story would be propelled into a world war all too soon. I'm perfectly content with the 3 weapons staying dormant or seemingly hidden from us readers just a little longer.

Toki! Hmmm. I really got to reread because I barely remember anything aside from her prophecy and revealing zilch about where she came from or why she was running. Did anything get revealed? I have to look all over again during my second read. Once VIZ finishes with the physical volumes I'll go through the whole thing again.

Tengu Takayuki was pretty neat. Some of you called the hidden twist that I didn't see coming at all. Was it him who explained why swords are "cursed" or said to be? I really enjoyed that. I just thought a little more on the subject of the Kitetsu swords would be revealed. Maybe there wasn't anything more in regards to it but I was hoping a little more light could be shed on the 3rd, 2nd and 1st. The character was intriguing to me I just don't remember anything else at the moment.

Finally a reveal of Judge’s face! That’s stance really does make him look a bit like Sanji. I’ve theorized for ages that the trademark Vinsmoke eyebrows are actually Devil Fruit Swirls. With Judge’s normal eyebrows combined with what we know of bloodline elements and the creation of powers in this very chapter, I’m ready for Vegapunk to just outright confirm it.

What if Judge assigned the invisibility power to Black specifically as a gift/reward knowing that’s the power that Sanji would want?

Now this translation makes it sound like Vegapunk can’t recreate Logia’s no matter what he’s tried so far. I wonder if seeing Kizaru in action with Luffy will spur some new experiment on the subject allowing for full Logia replication.

I hope we get to understand more about this Gear 5 draw back. Years ago I remember a lot of discussion in regards to Luffy dying early because he was reckless with his fruit. Then Ivankov but then the time skip seemed to solve all problems. This new oldening/shriveling does seem to go away quickly but what if that plot point about “doping” and shortening Luffy’s life returns? Hehehe and explained again by Lucci no less.

There were so many things about Kaidou that really intrigued me. When he mentioned Wano is special, there seemed to be some greater mystery to his motivations. When Luffy got distracted and knocked out I thought Kaidou’s expression was top tier! I mean I know what it means for him to have a big beautiful challenge but I thought that disappointment would get explored a little more. The sad drunk is still mysterious to me as well.

Upon a 2nd read some of these things might be a little more straightforward but I really really am unclear on Kaidou’s motivations. He has been the most disappointing villain for me in the entire series. I like em well enough but man was I disappointed.

Different dimensions? This seems like the most literal thing Vegapunk has said on the subject. I can buy it and I like it. Still I don't understand though. In another universe/dimension I can buy that the people of that world have a means of creating these crazy abilities. Be it some technological feat or just by being granted wishes by God after some trial or test. Who knows? Whatever.

How then does the dimensional barrier get crossed? A spiritual realm that leaks between the two? Maybe something Greg was on about in his column about Zoro potentially going to hell and having to find his way back?

This is all fascinating to me. Can't wait to see where it all ends up.

Wow I never noticed that one moon being with only half it's head seen in that one mural. The moon, alien, space and ancient peoples stuff was always one of the most fun aspects about the series to me.

I like it. It always bugged me that wild animals and cyborgs seemed to get stomped by so many of the leading characters in this story. Then during the time skip I was glad to know that even just Elephants and Wild Boars could give a few worst gens a run for their money. These new Pacifistas being a real threat is also great as far as I'm concerned.

I doubt Oda would ever go down this route because it rarely happens but what if Senior Pink died in the custody of the Marines due to his battle with Franky? The only comparable moment we have of someone's confirmed death after the fact would be Izo, Asura and C90 dude.
