one thing bugs me though.. this is the third (?) time that a hundred million are translated as one billion… Caribous bounty ain't 2 billion is 200 million.
Joy boy is someone that have a relation with Noah, and will teach shirahoshi how to control Sea King..
Ich the arc noah is indeed centuries old, it could be as well a remainder of the lost century.. would be sorta hilarious if the arc is indeed the "one piece" (of chunk) and luffy destroys it.
I knew from the spoilers that at least one person would recommend Shirahoshi for the sea kings. Response: Bluegories chopped up sea kings to feed ID prisoners. Pre-timeskip fodder > a sea king.
As it was already mentioned: Sea Kings are useless on land, but (and that was my main reason): The ability to control Sea Kings allows you to pass Calm Belt without Seastonetech & they would seem helpful in a battle against a whole fleet (e.g. like rogers battle with shiki).
ed: and it would be a fitting message - Otohimes daughter on a adventure with humans .. why do you think this chapters title is uninhertited will?
after this chapter shirahoshi became a good candidate. With her ability to control sea kings she could be a valuable asset..
Well if Jinbei's crew will appear and all… his chances will decrease but I won't doubt Aohige's words.
Problem is... We don't havy any other character in this arc with even teh slightest chances besides him
Actually, if Jinbe is possible, we could also count Hatchan&Keimi&Pappug in. Altough i would bet my money on jinbe..
the source tell that 1.000.000.000 is a billion…it says it's the most common meaning....
1.000.000.000.000 = 1 billion is rarely used..as always the source says....Source here it's esplained better…
So it's really possible that next luffy bounty is 1 billion =1.000.000.000 or near like 900 milion
just to get it straight: a billion = 10^12 is common in europe (except UK) and derives from the first usages of the word.
shortscale (means: 1 billion = 10^9) is most common in english speaking countries, and therefore more or less a "standard" altough its imho false.
@MDL:
i'm hoping for the new crewmate to be a student from the fishman karate dojo.
Ideally, the guy would be above newbie level, but not master level.
imho he should be at least master level to join the SH Crew. Right now every Strawhat is far beyond mere master level…
@Panda:
That's a fair point, but I take it as more a matter of Haki in general, especially CoC, going hand in hand with having strong willpower and charisma. So my interpretation is, it's not so much a matter of the Haki itself attracting people, but rather the innate personality qualities that go along with it, if that makes sense. Put in other words, I definitely agree that there is a correlation between having Conqueror's Haki and being a natural leader of sorts, but I don't necessarily think there is any direct causation linking them.
But then: How do you train your Conqueror's Haki? If CoC Haki is just the "fighting expression" of your willpower (in a cliche sense: the colour of your aura), CoC could be trained by "sharpening (~"the direction of..") your appearance, and one common exercise for this is taming wild animals b/c it is pretty difficult to tame a animal without frightening it…
anyway, there is no real need to explain CoC haki to the last bit...
@ArSoNiSt:
- Yes the DFs are much, much more random than the powers in Naruto (Still not sure how do the powers in Naruto and Bleach make the DFs any less random)
Which is imho one of the best concepts oda could have tought of… From the beginning OP was following a "anything goes" concept - a perfect adventure for kids. Ships falling from the sky, funny&mythical creatures and unique fighting abilities.
In OP there is no straight definition of strength or power - fights are decided by a combination of strenght, creativity, willpower & coincidence - just like in in a perfect real world. Because of that there is nothing like a useless ability, only an ability which isn't brought into the right context.
My overall problem with Oda is that he has a storyline, just like Bleach and Naruto do, but the support for said story line are weak, juts like Naruto has a good storyline, but Kishimoto underutilises the potential of several plot elements in the story, and Kubo just can't stick to his own damn rules for more than two chapters.
well, again: While Naruto could have had a decent story, it still would have been just-another-battle-manga. It's like everyone in Naruto strives to be the best, or at least bring peace to the world (with the exception of shikamaru..). In OP most of the characters have childlike dreams in a pure&naive sense of adventure. Human beings tossed in a incredibly funny world - OP reminds me of HuckFinn or, to a lesser degree, of the older pynchon tales…
@pandabear:
Although all that said, I'm in full agreement about the taming not having anything to do with Haki. I see that sort of talk tossed around a good bit, and am always at something of a loss trying to figure out where it comes from. As far as I can tell, Conqueror's Haki has only ever been used for one purpose, and that's knocking out / stunning opponents of relatively weak will.
It was mentioned that the conquerors haki lies dormant in most of the worlds leaders. Imho it could as well be something like the ability to attract/suppress other people…
btw.: pls. pardon my english.
