My advice to you is to study drawing in this order:
Gesture, Construction, Anatomy, Technique
Gesture is the overall action of the body, you want to capture the energy/essence of the pose. These should be real light and loose
Construction is where you start to lay in the solid forms of the body like the head/torso/hips/arms/legs
Anatomy is when you start defining clearly what's what on the body. This would be where muscles would go.
Technique is all the extra stuff that makes the drawing stand out, shading, texturing, color.
I wouldn't use those "How to draw manga" books as your only reference, but would rather suggest reading books about just drawing in general. Read all kinds of books on drawing in all different styles. It's a lot easier to learn to draw with solid foundation skills and apply it to anime/manga than it is to just draw it manga style only.
You could practice one body part at a time like the previous person said, but the problem is when you want to put it all together…you will struggle unless you're really good with proportions and anatomy.
I was the same way when I started out drawing because all I ever drew was head/shoulder drawings cause I was uncomfortable drawing the whole figure. Well I got really good at drawing heads and shoulders but my full figure drawings were pretty bad.
Above all, the thing I learned most about getting good at drawing is to draw a lot. Practice practice practice. It helps to have a sketchbook, to keep all your drawings together. Don't worry about making every drawing amazing, just get something down on paper. I've learned that sometimes you have to do 10 bad drawings just to get 1 that you're happy with.
Hope some of this helps. I'm studying animation and these are some of the things I've come across/struggled with myself. Good luck!
Why the fuck am I crying over an inanimate object? ;_;
Speaking of inanimate objects, it reminds me of
commercialGood bye Merry, rest in peace…
Greatest. Manga. Ever.
Watch this video….if the system is region free I'm going to import this
That splitscreen panel of Usopp/Sogeking is awesome. =]
@omae:
It's easier for Mom and Dad to get Junior and if you don't have a job where you can hold off going out a few nights a week save up for the 60GB (because the 20GB is a waste of time) after two months, you prolly' ain't among the real workforce yet and that's a good deal of what Sony seems to be aiming at.
So I can only enjoy a PS3 if I'm among the real workforce? :bawling:
All kidding aside though, I think eventually I will get a PS3…just... not at launch. :sad:
I also hope that Nintendo comes out with something huge tomorrow. I'm excited to see what Nintendo and Microsoft do tomorrow. :biggrin:
@The:
Fuck that shit. If I get a PS3, it'll be years after launch. Price is the factor here. While MGS4 lookes great and FFXIII looks pretty, I don't think two games justify such a purchase.
Not to mention that they're both not launch titles. I've seen so many fans saying how great MGS4 and FF XIII looked, but those games wont be out for at least another year. I didn't really see any launch titles that demanded that I plunk down $600 bucks for one on launch day, (not to mention sales tax AND the price of at least one game) running the total bill to almost 700 dollars. Ugh.
UGH. :wacko:
The million dollar question is - What's the big ? in the center!?
Got this off the LOST forums on ABC.com
So many questions brought up by this thing. Haha man I love the speculation going on with this =]
I know when the blacklights came on and Locke was looking at this, I was like OMG WTF IS THAT?!! hahah, creepy stuff. =]
With 10 minutes left in the show I was thinking to myself nothing much happened except for the secret diagram on the blast door…and then the last 10 minutes blew it away with the food delivery discovery as well as the Henry Gale reveal. I KNEW he was up to something.
Oh and I felt bad for Locke...she walked out on him. But then again he shouldn't have lied to her in the first place.
Overall good episode!
