New York Anime Festival 2010 October 8th-10th
Any APers heading to NYAF this year?
I'll be heading up with my Alabasta/ID Croc for the One Piece shoots. Also my cousin is wipping out his Mr. 2 Bon Kurei so there wil be a mini-alabasta group forming if anyone is interested :D
I might have an Alabasta Luffy to shoot with too, but not sure yet! I'll keep this thread updated.

RE: Bon Kurei vs. Crocodile
I have now realized what I should have done in the first place!!
A VOTE FOR CROCODILE IS A VOTE FOR DROPPING VIVI OFF A BUILDING

How can I vote multiple times?!
and
my friend david heard of the struggle and whipped this up!

RE: Otakon 2010
I missed all OP events cause I am bad at life. I arrived 5 minutes before the OP photoshoot ended and I was already sweating bullets -_-.
But all you need to KNOW:
HEART HOOK!

RE: Sir Crocodile/Impel down
@Ivyna:
Yup, Otakon. :) Lookin forward to meetin people.
Aaand it's made of… plastic (two tupperware things glued together as a base), craft foam, bondo, paperclay... it was kind of an experiment to see what would work! Definitely a learning experience.
The hook itself is just carved out of wood and was the easiest part. I traced a panel of the manga for the shape and we cut it out with power tools :D (Okay my dad cut it with power tools. But I sanded it all smooth!)
It's all covered with Rub n Buff gold leaf, which is a lot of fun to use.
Ah here's some in progress pics for the heck of it.

Ya can see how my hand goes in for the handle there.

And the unpainted base (missing a ridge) and hook.
The hook can unscrew from the base should I ever wanna make a poisonous version or the blade :B
I used a similar method, except a lot more cardboard! bondo and spot putty for sure though..
yours came out nice and smooth! cant wait to see it. makes me look at my hook and shake my head in disappoint

Aw didn't see anyone else from AP at Metro, but here is a shot of my friends and I as we walked in from the hotel!
More pics on my deviantart in the next couple of days. Still on a quest for the perfect cigar -- and need broader shoulders –-__----
