I just watched it this morning. Surprisingly enough, I didn't actually cry. The manga did me in way worse, but then again I wasn't expecting it back then.
Seemed like Ace should have been a little more bloody

Except for the few dragged out scenes, this episode was great. And I'm really disgusted that all we've been hearing from Ace for the last five eps is "kkkkggghhhkkgggghhkkkkkk." The next episode should be a party unless they finally decide to make Ace act the way he's supposed to.
I actually, like, enjoyed this episode a lot more than the others, especially all the stuff with Coby, Helmeppo, Akainu, and Donflamingo. I really liked all the backstory stuff with Ace and Garp. And the end was good. But I REALLY hate the way they have Ace acting. I mean, he did yell and and scream and look scared a lot in the manga, but he was NEVER this big of a crybaby, my word!
Although some of the filler parts were good, I thought the pacing was horrible.
Did anyone else notice how Ace's eyes got bigger and bigger as the episode went on?
I was really excited about this episode! It was a lot better than the last few.
I thought Iva's voice sounded different, I didn't realized he got a new VA.
The extra stuff was really good, but I was kinda hoping for a little more with Ace trying to kill Whitebeard, but whatever.
The next episode looks REALLY good
Finally with a nice heartwarming chapter. Luffy can finally meet up with the other strawhats and they can head over to fishman island. Of course there's probably gonna be some big long arc with them getting off their islands.
It was kinda sad with everyone standing around WB and Ace's graves. it was neat how they set their graves up with all their stuff on top of their gravestones, but one thing confused me–where the heck did they find Ace's hat?
Great chapter. The flashback had a nice satisfying ending, with it tying up loose ends and all.
We still don't know exactly what happened to Sabo, but I personally think he's alive. Something tells me Oda wouldn't just kill off a character right after he introduced him. And page 8 seemed like some serious foreshadowing that he's alive.
I felt so bad for Luffy on the last few pages. I hope he doesn't stay like this for too long. I get the feeling he's gonna be a lot different when he meets up with the Strawhats again.
So I personally think Sabo's not dead. It never for sure said anywhere in the chapter that Sabo was dead. Sure, Dogura came back and told everyone he was dead, but that's just what he saw. You notice how when Ace died it said "Ace, dead." at the bottom of the last pannel; and Merry was obviously dead because they burned her and she sank. But all we saw was Sabo's hat half burned floating in the ocean. He could very well be alive. Well, that's just my opinion. I'm not 100% sure or anything.
@Uncle:
Is your name pronounced, "Lace-ie"?
Welcome aboard.~
My name's pronounced just "lace" with one syllable. Like the material.
Hi I'm new to the forums. I've been into One Piece for about four years now since my sister introduced it to me. I caught up with the fansubed anime until about Post Enies Lobby and I've been reading the Manga and watching the Funimation subs since. My real name's Lace, so I thought the "of Spades" part was kinda funny. And it's totally coincidental that Ace was also the captain of the Spade pirates, so I'm not copying that or anything. By the way, I'm BabyCharmander's younger sister.
