RE: Chapter 945: Olin
What are the odds we get Zoro vs Queen and Sanji vs King, instead of the other way around??
Sanji and king both have fire and flying components, which might make for a more interesting battle. Zoro (samurai) vs queen (sumo) gives a a clash of two Japanese archetypes. I’m betting that queen has insane hardening haki, and is nearly indestructible. How else can he survive as such a large and slow target? So that also ends up kinda like the pica fight - offense vs defense. Plus Zoros different weight based attacks (720 and 1080 etc) make an interesting contrast with the massive weight of a sumo/sauropod.

Hahahaha this is fantastic

RE: Chapter 837: Luffy vs Commander Cracker
Not that anyone cares, but all the work of trying to determine an exact comparison between Cracker and Doffy and Luffy based how they handled G4 is completely misplaced. Watch a handful of real life fights (boxing or UFC) and you realize how each fight stands alone. Holm > Rousey > Tate > Holm, what does that mean? Or even look at a rematch - the two MacGregor/Diaz fights were completely different.
Ok, now we can go on with the discussion anyway. Cracker's Haki is 128% as strong as Raleigh, but he is only 82% as strong as Doffy overall. Anyone who disagrees with these facts is merely stating an opinion.

That is epic hype. Amazing page.

RE: Chapter 824: Little Pirate Games
I imagine that defeating Kaido will be more like Enel/Crocodile than Doffy/Bellamy, in the sense that there is a trick to winning. With Enel, rubber resists electricity, and random punches prevent haki observation. With Crocodile, he needed a liquid (water, then blood) for his punches to defeat the sand.
If Kaidu truly has a dragon fruit, then I expect that defeating him will involve a typical dragon weakness. In western stories, its often a loose scale (Hobbit anyone?), but I dont know about in the East. Maybe, like against Moria, its a team effort to take advantage of the weakness?
My rudimentary pokemon knowledge from childhood suggests Ice :ninja:. -
RE: Chapter 822: Descending the Elephant
So one team plans on landing on Wano before Luffy gets there? That doesnt figure to end well.

RE: Chapter 821: Understood
Later, yes, but in the beginning Zunisha was howling (or whatever noise elephants make) for all to hear, but only the two of them understood him. At least that's how it seemed to me.
I wonder if the "voice of all things" is related to the idea in the Bible where Peter goes out to preach, but bystanders from various countries all report to have understood him in their native tongue. Maybe this interaction at Zou is the inverse…instead of being understood by in all voices, Luffy can hear (understand) all voices. That doesnt mean that the sound cant be heard, but that he has a special ability to understand.

RE: Chapter 821: Understood
Telepathic radio waves.
Yeah, whether you consider that nonsense or not is up to you, but the internal logic is there.
No less nonsense than devil fruits and all the rest. I don't care that any of it exists, so long as it functions consistently by its own set of rules.

RE: Chapter 821: Understood
I think the logical conclusion of this debate is a den den mushi power level fight.
(broadcast range is 2.5 Hecubas?)

RE: Chapter 821: Understood
@DEE:
Shirahoshi controls sea monsters…
Momo controls Zou.. the elephant...I wonder what Luffy will be able to control.. I wish A kind of mysterious poneglyph.
:|
Shirahoshi = Sea,
Momo = Land,
Luffy = Air?QED, Luffy controls a giant bird, which (coincidentally) is the home of the next floating (flying?) island.
You heard it here first, folks. :ninja:

RE: Chapter 818: In The Whale
So, maybe I'm jumping into this WAY too late, but about the 4 points on a map discussion.
First, isn't one of the basic problems having a map in the first place? Everyone in the new world uses log pose and vivre card etc, because there isnt a good map. Also, as others point out, we have islands in the sky, in the sea, islands that move, etc. So, even if the ponyglyphs tell you that the three points are islands A, B, C, and D, you might have to visit them all and make your own map first. So, even if you can eventually find the location with 3, it may be unsafe or very complicated to search for all possible locations, easier to get the 4th one.
Second, is it clear that Raftel ITSELF is at this hidden location, or is simply the entrance route to get to Raftel safely? There are plenty of places in the OP world that have very limited safe routes of access - calm belts, FI, Skypeia, Enies Lobby, etc. Seem most likely that Raftel is inaccessible.

RE: Chapter 765: Minion, the Island of Fate
Awesome chapter… Love Corazon even more.
But one question, cuz I missed a lot... Is the the shitty manga mentioning the previous Ope Ope no Mi User... a doctor? Or is it it just a fucked up translation.
Im wondering the same…

"there was one like this before, but it was such a waste"
Is this a reference to a previous doctor using the ope-ope fruit, and that eating it was a waste of the fruit (instead of selling it),
or
is this a reference to a previous DF that this group had (maybe X Drakes) that was a waste to eat it instead of sell it. Might explain some of the tension between X Drake and his father, and why is face is in shadows. -
RE: One Piece Chapter 741 - Usoland The Liar
Its interesting that now Sabo with his pipe and borrowing Luffy's armor disguise looks exactly like Kyros from the flashback. I wonder if his victory will cause a distraction for DD or King Riku where they think Kyros has returned? Now we will have double Kyros and double DD (Kinemon), its gonna be messy.

RE: Chapter 731: "Dressrosa Operation SOP"
I wonder how this chapter would have read to somebody who didn't already know that Sabo and Koala were Revolutionaries.
Confusing. Very confusing.

RE: Chapter 714: "Lucy and Ucy"
What is Barts connection and who is he?
Connection: A revolutionary, in league with dragon
Who is he: Vivi + Ivankov hormones + Barrier DF

RE: No new One Piece Chapters for 2 weeks - Oda hospitalized for infected tonsils
Well, that sucks. Get well soon Oda. Coincidentally, Gummy Devil Fruit candy made it onto the Huffington Post today:

RE: One Piece 708: Colosseum full of rascals
I always thought "Drive" was the best translation choice for "Haki".
I still do. "Drive" is such a cool-sounding word.
Makes for a great combination with Gear 2nd and Gear 3rd, don't you think?

RE: [Theory] The Inherited Will, "One Piece"
Wow, really compelling theory. I'm not sure I have anything useful to add here, just a random thought. When you present this theory - looking for the lost island civilization (AK and Raftel) which was technologically advanced but wiped out in a distant age, travel to the moon (Enel) , fighters who have a premonition (haki) of their opponents moves, a winged people in floating land (Skypiea), and a woman who is key to a secret weapon (Poseidon), one thing that comes to mind is Escaflowne. I know some of these themes appear in tons of different stories and fairy tails, so I'm not suggesting any excessive cribbing here, just a loose association. Perhaps that loose association, if it influenced Oda, will also influence us to think along similar lines.

RE: One Piece Chapter 706: I won't laugh at you
Its interesting that all these characters in the tournament have names but will soon be disposed with. Perhaps this is a tip off that shit will go down with the Marines and interrupt the tournament, preventing it from reaching its normal conclusion. Or, perhaps they are being introduced so that the battles here will start greater conflicts between the new world factions.

RE: Chapter 660: Royal Shichibukai Trafalgar Law
Also Marine ships are supposed to lined with seastone, it seems like Law's power can affect it too maybe.
One of his moves is named "Shambles" though.
inappropriate but since both Law's fingers are tattooed with words "death" what if his ding dong wastattooed with the words "life"?
Well, the seastone is attached to wood, and he can lift wood. Same as how Smoker holds on to the handle of that baton he has.

RE: Chapter 660: Royal Shichibukai Trafalgar Law
I skipped a bunch of pages but did anyone else catch Franky's legs? At least we know one of their new functions now! He's got tank shins!
Shins + Tanks = SHANKS

RE: Pluton, Poseidon, and Uranus
So I've been watching for a while, but just joined. Here goes my first post, hope its not entirely repetitive.
I think that there are three Ancient powers and three "Ancient Fruits" (to invent a term), directly related to Zeus/Poseidon/Pluto but not necessarily each other. The fruits would be Lightning(Zeus) possessed by Enel, Earthquake(Poseidon) possessed formerly by Whitebeard now Blackbeard, and Darkness (Pluto) also possessed by Blackbeard. This explains his Cerberus flag. The three powers are Weather (Zeus) possessed by Dragon, Sea Kings (Poseidon) possessed by Shirohashi, and Pluton (Pluto) with unknown qualities. The three powers would control all aspects of a pirates life (wind, sea, and ship), while the three fruits are traditionally the most powerful. I'm sure that bit about the fruits will cause a lot of grief, but it is at least plausible that those three are the best. So, thoughts?
