    • RE: Chapter 436 "Pants from Franky★House" Discussion

Well, you have to know that there are quite millions of people out there, such as the Bajau tribe, who actually born and live their whole life nomadic on their homeboat, only once in a while landing for trade.

And about the lawn, it brought up since Robin has become true mugiwara crew, to be able to relax at last and to fulfil her hobby on gardening and planting her lovely flowers.

The lawn is also brought up since recently Japan is working hard on developing the highly-advanced greening system in urban centers, high-raised buildings, etc. (see the biolung or mitsubishi miraikan etc in aichi expo) so now it is not strange anymore to be able to create a lawn up a ship deck.

    • RE: Whitebeard's Flag to Be Changed?! (Ch. 434 Tidbit)

      Wow…
One Piece should've maintained its theme as a pirate manga, as it prizes the main symbol of skull and bone which is also a symbol of rebel, it should not have surrendered on the manji name-clearing movement to commercial claims.

Manji was there since the prehistoric time, because it was only a geometrical simplification of galactical/universal/astronomic movement; the image of great creational energy.

And I wonder why there is no complain on christian cross decorated all over the manga. Crosses are originally an tool for massacre used by Roman soldiers bashing everyone offending them. It dearly managed to became a symbol of peace and love with the influence of Jesus's sacrifice.

But then it was a symbol carried on through the imperialism 'for God and Gold and Glory'; there were more massacre under the name of the cross.
While that very time also marked the real Great Pirate Age, most of the bluffing pirate character adorn themself with cross accessories: which made way to the fictional 21century pirates accessories.

If not sailor rabbits, there are significant possibility that Ener would find some liliput/elf/dwarf civilization.

One Piece world contains giants, mermaids, fishmans, half giants human, half fishman-half giants, sea-kings, etc. But no sign of smaller people yet.
So, they should be on the moon.

    • RE: Where's Redbeard?

      @Overtaker:

i thought there's bluebeard in pirates history ?

      Barbe Bleue

      http://www.surlalunefairytales.com/bluebeard/history.html

_The tale of Bluebeard has been popular and well known more in the centuries prior to the 20th century. Now the tale is considered gruesome and horrific. Until recently, fairy tales have been sent to the nursery where they have been sanitized for young readers and listeners. The tale is not well known outside the circle of fairy tale afficiandos.

The average person often mistakes Bluebeard for the infamous Black Beard, a pirate whose story has never been considered part of the fairy tale genre.

Still, according to a survey of the Fairy Tale Indexes which are available, Bluebeard appeared in children's books fairly frequently prior to the 1940s and 1950s when it virtually disappears from fairy tale collections for children._

    • RE: Chapter 430 "The Light Snow of Reminiscence Falls" Discussion

Why the title is not translated yet?
kind of "pouring down light snow of remembrance"
      is it not poetic enough…?

Iceberg's face was so well drawn, intensing the atmosphere.

Felt so silly to cry over a fictional ship, but I did.
Maybe it was the greatness of Japanese culture which influenced mangas, that everything, everything with no exception, is considered animate.

The possibly "third moon" was then confirmed as a space junk, while the second is natural asteroid influenced by both earth and moon's gravity.
"Cruithne" is still not considered as a moon, but maybe some times later it would become rounder…

At the 2005 Expo, Mitsubishi's pavilion told that if moon doesn't exist, dinosaurs would still live on earth.

That's why OP worlds have so many species of seamonsters… coz they had a lot of moons... 👅

... I wish Ener live happily ever after on his dreamland.

    • RE: Where's Redbeard?

Barbarossa was actually heroes in their homeland, somehow different from the privateers. Although they were under the command of Ottoman Empire, actually they defend the autonomy of the Coast of Barbary Africa from other countries (and European) invasion, and guard the merchant ships from European pirates (uhm, the whatsocalled East India Companies).
They build the safety of free trade across the Indian Ocean.

There were different redbeard in fictional pirating history, Barbe-Rouge of the caribbean (french comics) which were often parodied in Asterix.

On the other hand, BLUEBEARD was a character in a forgotten fairytale by Charles Perrault, the one in the same book with Sleeping Beauty, Puss in Boots and Cinderella. He mutilated his wives or awful things like that.
No connection with pirating at all, Bluebeard was so cruel that most parents and teacher would avoid to read it.

Piccolo in Dragonball destroyed the whole moon to prevent Son Gohan and the saiyans turn to gorrilas.
Tetsuo in Akira created a new crater on the moon so that the gravity collapses and tides swallow lands.

Look forward to what great thing Ener would do.

Just found out that earth actually had two moons… might have been three.

    • RE: Vol 44 Speculation Thread [cover on page 5 !!!]

While 43 is like an opposition of 42, 44 should be somehow opposites of 41. So, while 41 background was the situation of past buster call 20 years ago with little Robin, 44 background will be the present buster call: big Robin with the complicated feeling, riots with the VA fleets, Franky, Lucci beast form.

While 41 front was Luffy and Sogeking declarating war, 44 front should also be the two of them, maybe Usopp removing the mask and Luffy in 3 phases.

    • RE: Zoro's sword related thread (SPOILER)

Yeah, funkfried is not a katana.
      I thought Zoro's and Tashigi's collected sword must all be a katana-style.
But isn't Mihawk's sword also on her list?
But, even a real katana had been developed by various metallurgical technology, either it is Damascus (the one with repeatedly folded steel) or else.
A "spirited sword" is a sword that is sharp enough for a long time without having to be rusted by blood, well-balanced with the handle, etc so it can slash more things easily so that it become a legend.
That strength is obtained by choosing the best steel alloy which is then heat-treated well on a certain temperature.

Only after all of that, it was up to swordsman's spirit and unification with the sword.
