I really can't understand this criticism of Oda's work. If anything the Marineford Arc was amazing and heart-wrenching. The storytelling is perfect and the events transpiring are explosive, well timed and unpredictable. Why would you want for Luffy to acquire One Piece when in my eyes he already has it. The best treasure a pirate can get is his ship, reliable and amicable crew and bunch of exciting adventures. At least in the world of OP. And unlike other anime (which can also be very good!), they actually face tragedies, love, hate, respect, the ever present discrimination and oligarchy through the World Government.

I don't want them to find One Piece because that would mean the end of a really great show. It was amazing to watch a battle where the main protagonist is actually one of the weakest there, but he can still surprise and give everything he has to accomplish his goal.

I could go on for pages in describing what I love abut this show but that is not the point.
Are there flaws? Of course and I wouldn't want it any other way. Since there are no perfect things. But it is still excellent show :).

Now, back to the question of the flashback with Ace. My believe is that it serves the purpose of introducing Sabo and who knows maybe One Piece is actually the chance to bring back those whom you love.

Speaking of the Marine Arc, does anyone find it odd or ridiculous that there were little or no causality besides the nameless soldiers, Ace and Whitebeard in a war that huge?

You should learn to trust Oda more. He wouldn't put in a flashback just to get more sympathy for a death character. It's about more than that.

I no longer trust Oda, it took him a decade when he started the show and all that the season has to show was ace dying and whitebeard saying that one piece is real… nothing was answered, none of the other character's main motive was even acknowledge. It took almost or a whole decade just to show 20% progress in all of the character's objective. I wouldn't be surprise when I turn 90 and on my death bed only to realize that the straw hat is still half way to their goal of the line.
To be honest I think Oda is trying to milk it or he's out of idea and starting all over again.

I don't understand why they would start introducing ACE now? He's already dead… Is this a fail attempt to make the viewers care about ACE's death? If given the right time, introducing Ace's background and learning about his past should be before he died.
Even if we understand him and learn about him will be completely useless because he's DEAD!

Just wondering… Did they run out of special ability to create or something? Giving Akainu magma, Ace fire and the heat guy that can turn and stand the heat as hot as a volcano. That's like saying one guy has Ice power, another has the power to make the weather freezingly cold and another who can create frost. What's the damn difference?

I've been reading the Manga and watching the anime up to 230 where Usopp can't seem to stop crying about losing the ship.

Ever since he was introduced I have tried to like him… as a character. His attitude and emotions irritates me so much I almost want to skip the episode but I don't due to important information I could miss.
I understand that he is weak and was written as a coward but its just too much for me to handle.

I admire his marksman skills in which I think is a great skill by the way... probably one of the best. But I can bring myself to like him do to his irritating cowardness, although his comic relief is great.
Can someone tell me if he'll be like that throughout the entire movie... I mean come on? He is traveling with some of the strongest people in One Piece... can they not at least train him in some way? Thanks! I just had to rant that out! =)

Hey Josl, thanks for that great information. I don't usually read the manga's just because its hard to obtain it in my state and also because I don't really have enough money to buy covers after covers. Although you do point out some really great facts and you're right because I was also curious about Zeff's leg.

Why is it that they do that? I can understand that it is to cut time but why important parts?

Anywho thanks for the downloaded volume, I will definetly check it out and also I did noticed that Robin was in the intro suddenly before she even joined, besides that I never knew about her.

I was once like that, until a friend showed me the introduction the Captain Kizaru's ultamate bad azz light kick! :D
