So guys, who did you use the master ball on?
As i said before, i kinda scrubbed out and exploited the save state feature in the emulator to get the rare pokemons, i saved before throwing the ball so whenever it fails i just go back until the pokemon is captured. So i found no use for the master ball.
is there a pokemon that could only be cought by it? is it Mewtwo? i haven't gotten into his cave yet…

This song is awesome. It has a very catchy chorus and sheds light on marriage problems?! yeah for once, rappers do humanize themselves with heart felt tracks like this.

what the hell man? you already nominated (and voted for) a movie month. next month nominations are not now. -
RE: What are you Playing?
There's a move deleter and a move relearner somewhere in Fuschia I believe, in Fire Red at least. So it IS possible to forget HMs and relearn old moves.
Thanks. I found the move deleter in Fuschia, the relearner is in two island. I found him before but i didn't know what he was (his mushroom request was even more confusing) so i assumed he was just another random NPC. @KageKageKing:
Ice isn't effective against Rock Types. In fact Rock beats Ice.
I think the confusion there comes with most Rock types in that region sharing the Ground typing, which is weak to ice. Another funny confusion is that rock is immune to electric, when they are not. Again, the ground subtype grants those immunities, and if the Pokemon were a pure Rock type instead.. then they'd be damaged normally by electric.
Hmmm… I could swear i remember Ice Beam one shot killing Onixs and Geodudes. So if it doesn't tell you that it was "super effective" then it's not a type advantage? forgive this noob lol

RE: What are you Playing?
Pokemon Fire Red.
I never played Pokemon before and seeing as everyone never shuts up about it and makes references to it kinda annoyed me, i felt out of the loop because it's such a big thing in geek culture. So i decided to play it and start from the (sorta) beginning; the remake to the original game.
I can see why people love it so much, it's so damn fun! you collect those cute animals, level them up and use them to fight other trainers or wild animals. The collecting part is probably the most addicting thing in it, you have all of these wild animals scattered around the region, some are very rare to come across and others are just everywhere.
They can get pretty tricky to capture, but through save exploiting i did manage to catch most of the hard ones including all 3 legendary birds. I was a little disappointed that they're already leveled up to 50 and had some really terrible moves, i wished there was a way for pokemon to relearn moves they forgot. Articuno is my favorite and i only used him out of the 3 as my Fly user. He's pretty good in battles too, Fly makes him very effective against Fighting and Plant types and his Ice moves make him effective against Rock types. By the time i got to the other two my Pikachu and Charizard were crazy strong so i ditched them in Bill's box.
The game was kinda easy tho. I only lost 2 or 3 times until i got the hang of it and used a balanced set of different Pokemons to combat most types.
I was really annoyed with some of the HMs. Fly, Surf and Water Surge were good for battling but the others were shit, they're normal types and were very ineffective against the stronger Pokemons that are seen latter in the game. I had to sacrifice one spot in my Pokemons for a HM holder Pokemon that had Cut, Rock smash and Strength, because i didn't want to give them to my good Pokemons, especially when they're fucking unforgettable moves. I hope they fixed that issue in latter games.
anyways, i had alot of fun with it. it's a good game and i really want to play it's sequels now. -
RE: Confession Session II
The only thing I know how to do is work. When I have free time, I never use it well. I have a compulsive reaction to go to internet forums. I can't do anything. I'm not productive enough. It's ridiculous and I'm tired of it. If I'm not doing work or homework, I don't' know what to do.
this describes me as well, only im into games, movies and tv shows. i deal with it by giving one or two hours of my day to whatever i want to learn, but yeah i forget it sometimes. @Captain:
.
not all fathers are the same, if yours was a good father then that just very dandy. mine for example, is a compulsive liar and a very apathetic person who couldn't give a shit about his family.
he almost ruined my future. am i a despicable person for not loving him?
judging people based on their love for their parents is a very outdated tradition that should die imo. -
RE: ''Heart of Gold''
.
as cool as that might sound it's very unlikely to happen.
spin offs that focus on other characters are a big risk because it could drive away alot of potential viewers who're not interested in said character. the strawhats are universally liked by almost everyone, even if you hate a few of them you're bound to have one or two that you like out of them, so it's they're a very safe bet and people want to see them more. -
RE: ''Heart of Gold''
toei doesn't want to risk it, the usual formula works very well for the majority. and there's nothing wrong with it either, luffy beating super powered villains with his rubber powers is fucking cool.
but out of curiosity… when you say "different", what exactly would you want it to be? do you want a different story structure? more emphasis on characters or drama? -
RE: Random News Article Discussion II
@Monkey:
That really really doesn't seem like a good source at all. Youtube aside, the guy doesn't some extra authority from being "ex" or anything. And people who leave religions are not exactly the most neutral source on them.
i watched one of his videos, whats even more worrisome about this guy is that he seems to believe that all arab and muslim countries have non secular islamic laws and that if he reveals himself he will be punished by death. that is not even remotely true, most arab and muslim countries have secular laws and never let religion influence them. if this guy was saudi his points would be stronger as they do alot of horrendous shit but that's probably not the case. his accent (that he's trying so hard to cover) and the fact that he says he was a shia muslim alludes me to believe he's either from lebanon or syria. both of which house(ed) alot of non muslims and have secular laws.
"i will be punished by death if i revealed my face" bullshit. unless you live in isis territories or saudi arabia, you won't.
that's the problem with everyone who critiques islam, they believe every arab or muslim country dress their woman in full neqab or stone adulters etc… im not religious but even i get pissed off about it. -
RE: Is there anything of the 4Kids dub from episodes 1-52 that you guys want to see?
i have nothing particular in mind. but i would love to see a highlight of the worst dialogues and dubbing from it, as i've never really seen it for myself but i keep hearing about how shitty it is.

Thats weird. HBO has been spending fortunes on it since it's beginning, why cheap out now? i really hope this is just a story driven decision.

RE: Game of Thrones (tv show thread)
Did you just bump this thread just so you can promote yours? :|
And as usual you're not gonna give any reasoning for why Game of Thrones is bad, right? your opinion of the show is subjective, it's hard for me (and others maybe) to take it seriously without any articulation on it from you. it's kinda self centered actually, "this show is bad because i says so, here watch this instead".

sigh I hate you Vince.

RE: Thoughts on the last movie you watched.
In The Heart of The Sea. It was surprisingly good, don't know why it bombed and critics hated it. Yeah some of the CGI and green screen effect was a bit shoddy at times but that didn't take me out of the movie too much. The story is based on the Essex whaling ship incident with the whale, i honestly can't tell you if it's historically accurate but i thought it was well done. I liked the subtle animal rights message in the movie
! when the first mate Chase killed a whale he looked sad, and when he was presented with the chance to kill the whale who destroyed his ship, he didn't do it. Chris Hemsworth was good here, but he wasn't given anything very challenging to work with. His character was likeable and the rest of the characters were okay too, even the asshole captain developed nicely throughout their struggles. I don't think i had my fill of movies about the dangers of the sea, so i think I'm gonna see that George Clooney movie "Perfect Storm" and one of the Moby Dick adoptions, if you guys know of a good movie about this theme please recommend it to me :)

RE: Random News Article Discussion II
it's beyond disgusting and horrific. wikipedia tells me that he did it by himself because life wasn't going so well for him, but that even makes it worse imo, it's so selfish and evil.
i hope someday we could get over our differences. untill then, all i can do is give my condolences to the families of the victims.
-
RE: Greg: Teacher of SUPER " OP " course !
So you got into it only 4 years after it's first run, that's quite the record actually. Considering that people rarely follow mangas from their beginnings, and the fact that it already took alot of time to get to the west, so it's not really your fault (except if you were in japan at that time).
Me i got into it in 2012, so in 13 years I'll be sure to remember to brag about reading it for 15 years aswell! :D

RE: Random News Article Discussion II
As long as you're ignoring the previously stated 70/30 split in population and not taking that into account, yes you can statistically make that argument.
I'm not sure i get your point… wouldn't the split actually support my argument? there's less POCs than whites in usa, yet they have more than 50% chances than them of having the police draw a weapon at them.
-
RE: Random News Article Discussion II
At the same time, the study found blacks and Hispanics were more than 50 percent more likely to experience physical interactions with police, including touching, pushing, handcuffing, drawing a weapon, and using a baton or pepper spray.
Wouldn't that mean more chances for shootings to happen?
50 percent more chances for weapons to be drawn against non whites indirectly means that non whites have more chances (however little) to be shot at, imo. Kinda self-contradictory, isn't?

RE: Oda's Interviews
Last I met him a few weeks back he had seen through season 4 of GoT and I informed him that season 5 is available in Japan so I imagine he's at least caught up to season 5. His editor Sugita was planning on watching season 6 but last we talked he hadn't been able to see it.
Very nice to hear that, i only hope he likes the show as much as i do. Thanks Greg :)

RE: Thoughts on the last movie you watched.
Just watched Gomorrah and i loved it. It's a very bleak and de glamorized look on gangsters and the state of Italy. The movie does an excellent job of showing how children are sucked into gangs and how they reach a point were return is no longer possible. I liked some of the characters, the grocery kid and the two scarface wannabe kids. But i didn't feel connected to the character with the garbage dumping subplot, i know it's a pretty serious problem in there but i wasn't as interested in that subplot as much as of the other characters.
I liked how the slums were excellently shot, it's almost felt like you were there yourself. great movie overall.

RE: Oda's Interviews
Oda and editor Hattori got excited over talking about "Prison Break", especially about the scene in which
! Brad Bellick, who had been a villain in Season 1, devoted his life to saving protagonists in Season 4. Oda says, "That scene was exactly a Shounen manga-ish, right? As expected, Shounen manga might be the best medium to entertain people."
Wow, he watches American TV. I'd love to know what other TV shows he likes.
Oda rarely reads novels. Even after an editor recommends a novel to him, Oda reads only the page that the editor specified. Editor Isaka wonders why Oda has so many vocabularies in manga despite not reading novels. Other editors answers that probably Oda's vocabularies are based on films, Rakugo and music.
This one flew past me. do you mean by "so many vocabularies" sophisticated grammar? @Angelos17:
Can you kindly provide the link?
Also, follow him on twitter, he posts/retweets some pretty cool stuff.

RE: Hip Hop Thread
Yeah, well it killed him in the end so lesson learned I guess? His death wasn't really talked about much though outside of all the fight club memes. Tbh I never cared much for his songs outside of a couple but he was fun to watch in the battle circuit.. shit, he even shot H during some battles.
to be completely honest, i didn't know that he died except after i posted the song here. fucked up.
i never watched him battle (im more of a dizaster and k-shine fan) but he was good as far as others say. this song was promoted on a show, i looked it up and i liked it.

RE: Ghostbusters reboot
So there's this movie reviewer that i follow on youtube, he's called Bandit Incorporated, he made this video basically summarizing everything Sony did to cover it's ass from the backlash. watch it with a grain of salt, the title is kinda stupid.
if you're still skeptical tho and want more details, you can watch Midnight's half hour video where he digs deep into this whole thing.

RE: Ghostbusters reboot
Well I don't remember hearing anyone of note being fired for making The Godfather Part 3
Sofia Coppola, she was fired from the screens. The acting on that woman was atrocious.
-
RE: Ghostbusters reboot
some of them are basing it on "It stars women so it sucks. SJWs/Feminists are evil" etc.
Yeah i see that alot in the recent flux of movies that start female protagonists. From Mad Max somehow being "Feminist propaganda" to The Force Awakens being a "Mary Stu fantasy". Pretty depressing stuff to read.

RE: Attack on Titan: Why Genocide Is Sometimes Kind of Okay
! Armin should get it, he's basically a young version of Erwin. Levi was super badass in this chapter, he laid waste to 6 more titans and was about to follow the weird titan had it not been for his gas running out. i do agree with TLC on the sloppy writing part, way too many coincidences are happening. Reiner getting out of this alive was the most infuriating thing, the weird titan just happen to be near him when Mikasa shot the flair. I thought that was a very cheap way to save him. All the other characters get killed, yet the transformers all have a very obnoxious plot armor, which really makes me hate them with passion. I'm having hard time believing Berthold may die actually, so who knows if he's gonna really kill him.

RE: Thoughts on the last movie you watched.
Just watched Eraserhead and tbh i have very mixed feelings about it, it doesn't really have a story and seems to have been made just to fuck with the viewer's mind. Disturbing imagery comes and goes randomly in this movie and at the end it's ramped up to 11. Yet, you really can't look away. You want to see what else is David Lynch is gonna throw at you. I'm told there's hidden symbolism in this movie, i have failed to interpret any of it however, so idk, it might have made more sense if i have…
-
RE: Attack on Titan: Why Genocide Is Sometimes Kind of Okay
im few pages into it… it doesn't seem like a very good translation.

correction: it's a horrible translation. i can't bring myself to finish it when it has lines like this
! "armin just got breathed"

RE: One Piece Film Gold (July 2016)
Just finished watching Film Gold. This film is awesome in terms of both sakuga and music! In the middle stage of a story, it felt like a spy action film. (ex. 007) Below is a small summary. I hope I can post a longer version later.
! - Straw Hats suffer a complete defeat in Casino due to Baccarat's Lucky Lucky devil fruit. - Zoro is trapped by Tesoro and gets captured. - Tesoro plans a public execution of Zoro. Tesoro promises Straw Hats that he will release Zoro if they can prepare 320 million berry. - Straw Hats and Carina intend to steal 50 billion berry from Tesoro. - Lucci tells Akainu to send 10 warships to Gran Tesoro as if Lucci is Akainu's boss. Akainu gets enraged. - Tesoro used to be a Celestial Dragon's slave. He later became a pirate. - Vice Admiral Chaton and Momousagi make an appearance as a cameo. - Zoro defeats Dice. - Sanji and Robin defeat Mr. Tanaka. - Usopp defeats Baccarat. - Sabo fights Lucci. - Spandam captures Luffy via seastone chain. - Tesoro can do nothing against Gear4. - Luffy defeats Tesoro by Gear 4 Tiger Rex Magnum? (I'm not sure about it) - Marines capture Tesoro after he lost. - In the end, Carina steals whole Gran Tesoro!
is it better than film z?

RE: Random News Article Discussion II
i just want to point something out. as easy as it is to find some passage in the quran that might look malicious, as easy it is to forget that it's not a guide book to be followed exactly. islam isn't just the quran, there's the hadith and the teachings of multiple sheikhs. those elaborate on it, and give exact meanings to it's words. furthermore, not everything in it is followed actually. it might say to punish gays or kill renegades for example but i have yet to see either of those getting prosecuted in a court in my entire life, even in the none secular saudi arabia. isis is the worst when it comes to those things but they are a terrorist group and in no way represent islam.
