      That would be epic. Usopp having a ton of high bounties, but none under is actual name up until near the end of the series, when some marine is like 'Are you a hostage, dear?' And he's like 'No, I'm known by many names. From the land of the shooter, Sogeking… Hero of the Tontatta, Usoland (...) my real name is Usopp, son of Yasopp, and I'm sharpshooter for the man who'll be the pirate king! Fear me.'

      @Magi:

      That was my mistake I misread. It took 3 officers to beat franky and even then they had help from the marines and their subordinates. Lao G isn't doing anything. We also already know that Zoro and co are stronger than Vergo who's on the same level as the 3 seats. Hell, Monet is the same rank as Lao G, probably even stronger yet Zoro broke her without doing a thing. Zoro's only goal was to rescue Law. He has nothing to do with whatever you're talking about. That isn't even Luffy's goal. The marines have already agreed to help DD against the SH's. Do I really have to post the scans to remind you of that?

      The marine's agreed to that before the toys came back to life. I'm assuming some of them are Marines. And that might change things quite a lot.

      Really? So he is stronger then Pre-Timeskip Ace without having any fruit?

      That's what I mean when I say he is a Sue.

      Rayleagh was stronger than timeskip ace without a Devil Fruit. Garp was stronger then pre-timeskip ace without having any fruit. Shanks was stronger than pre-timeskip Ace without having a fruit. Roger most likely didn't have any fruit. It's established that a lot of people are stronger than fruit users without actually having a fruit. Why is Sabo the only Sue?

      Taschigi couldn't even pulled out her arms in Smokey body. Took her a while, well maybe it's more difficult because it wasn't her body.

      Or maybe, the fact that Sabo is a complete total badass means he can control it more easily. I mean, he's a master of Haki, he sould have good control over his body.

      –- Update From New Post Merge ---

      @Darth:

      As I said, meh. I understand the argument, but it's still annoying to me.

      And Sabo feels annoyingly sueish because of it. I'm sorry, but he does. And I feel people are too forgiving of it, because he is Sabo, and for no other reason.

      Why does Sabo feel Sueish? He was introduced as a strong character, so he'll obviously win any battle. Saying Sabo is Sueish is like saying Ace was sueish back when he was introduced. He's simply not fighting people on his level.
      We've seen Akuma no Mi users fight within hours of consuming their DF without many problems (Think Kaku and Kalifa), and it's not like he's doing it effortlessly, he used way more fire than he wanted, and got scared because of it.

      Being a Mary Sue means EVERYTHING goes your way. It's quite harsh to call someone a mary sue when they've only done a single thing. Would you call Luffy a Mary Sue when he defeated Alvidia and her pirates without effort? It's about the same thing. Sabo simply destroyed the ring and jumped for the prize. Seeing as the ring was above the basement, everyone else was falling a bit too much to do anything about it.

      "Kinemon's son will start freaking out when he notices his father is dead, and thus awaken is power of healing… remember the poison doesn't kill straight away, that's why Ceaser invented the gray thingy to keep people from running away. So he will be able to save Kinemon and heal Moka, but won't be able to save anyone else."

      That or Chopper hype. But I'm pretty sure only Kinemon will be saved... No way they can go back xD.

      I love how the manga increases in scope as we progress through the world. First part was about a rookie crew, who did great things, but was nonetheless a weak crew, and what they did only affected themselves, the other victims of the villain, and the villain. As we progress we learn more of the world, and the things that affect them. And the first part ends with a great war with all of the great powers involved.
      And now what the straw hats do is starting to matter more and as that happens the world around them starts to matter more. That's why secondary characters start to take increasingly more space.
      It's like an epic fantasy that starts with one point of view, and then increases them as time goes by. With this I don't want to say that Law will now be another main character, but that it's only normal that as the scope increases, Oda gives relevance to other characters that are not the straw hat. As their actions will change outcomes.
      Luffy is now following a plan traced by law… Except it is LUFFY we are talking about... If Law can shape a plan around Luffy, then he's just an epic planer, and the story will just get better.

      Well, and when I saw the last page I was like...:

      @Urouge:

      Ehh, the ch in chocolate and machinegun are nothing alike. The fact is that when people see the word "mocha" in English, they pronounce it as "moka," thanks to it being an actual coffee related word that's pronounced that way. English sucks that way, but we live with what we have. As CCC said earlier, I'd personally go with Motcha, because prefacing "ch" with a "t" typically indicates the intended sound in English, like with catch or notch.

      But really the only reason to bring it up is so that people understand what it's meant to sound like. It's difficult for Mangarule to change the name they've decided on at this point.

      Hmm, they sound the same to me O.O.
      Well, as a portuguese person, I have read it, like that since the start (It's really weird for me not to do it…) xD

      Thank You! I totally forgot about this month's storyboard.

      About villains… I like the ones that are more antagonists than they're villains. They might have contrary goals, and dark ethics, but the reasons why they do it have to be understandable, and not just 'He's a villain'.

      I'll just throw as an example, every villain from the Mistborn series, but specially the Lord Ruller. And the last book is all about heroes and villains, and the pure evil villain isn't that bad when you think about it (won't spoil).

      I guess it all comes down to what Kylor said.

      I, for one, think it's good.
      MSN is stupid, it is riddled with publicity (like a fucking big square saying OLX.pt), and it has fallen in disuse a long time ago. And while it's main use is being an IM, it loses to Skype in that regard. You can't edit messages. It doesn't keep decent records, etc.
      And why would Microsoft have two programs that do the exact same thing?

      Oh c'mon… I can't help but get annoyed at the people screaming 'I don't care about the kids'.
      I get that it is kind of a flaw of One Piece that its pacing doesn't quite fit a weekly format. Oda likes to expand upon things, and slowly develop connections between the reader and the characters. And that get's kind off lost if you only get a chapter per week. For example, it has been like 9 or 10 weeks (didn't count) since we saw the scene with the parents of the children. And we are only now reaching the begining of the climax of that plot point.
      That works well with mystery, but with emotion it kind of loses mommentum with all the waiting.

      About this chapter, I just thought the flashback was unnecessary. I mean, I enjoyed the flashback, I just think it didn't need to be a flashback. She could say all that lying in the ground coughing blood, instead of holding the door... it would make it even more powerful, IMHO. Even so, that's more personal preference than anything. And Oda does love his flashbacks, and there was some stuff in there that could only work in a flashback, and adds some flavor to the story. Either way it was powerful. And I'm not that sure she'll leave. Oda did a great job this arc to show he's not that forgiving anymore. We saw people getting eaten alive. Kids on crack beating on their rescuers.
      Maybe she'll get handicapped, or Chopper we'll manage to heal her, but it will be hinted that she won't live much longer.
      Or maybe not. I don't know, but I do have a feeling it won't be a happily ever after.

      And who the hell thinks we didn't need this character development. Until now we knew the kids knew each other and were frendly between themselves, not nearly enough for Mocha to sacrifice herself. Now we know they promised to meet in the sea when they are adults... And they would never grow to become adults. That's more like it. It just sucks that not everybody can capture all the emotion from this chapter reading the manga weekly. Fishman Island was the same, absolutely perfect read all at once. Pretty average reading weekly.

      --- Update From New Post Merge ---

      @Urouge:

      Dude, you're talking about an English scanlation, not a Spanish one. Reading it as English is a given.

      There are many english words where the ch reads like the CH in Chocolate. Like Machinegun, for instances.
      So yeah, if we're suposed to read it like 'Moka', it should be written 'Moka' unless that's the official spelling.

      Zoro had his stupid moments (cutting off his own feet etc.). But he was somewhat level-headed, and place his crew in high priority.

      He did not hesitate to take out weaker opponents/ladies who were of threat to the crew before. But now right after he gave a speech of care to Luffy, he hung back as Monet hurt and could have quite possibly killed Chopper and the ladies, and even knowing Monet is tricky, he still held back while fighting her. Why? She wasn't a threat to him, but she was to the others. Why not eliminate her quickly and go aid Nami and co.? He didn't know Sanji was coming. And for all they knew, there could have been another dangerous enemy that Nami and Robin cannot handle just around the corner.

      And what would he had done if Tashigi didn't come along? Waste more time with Monet, then knock her out?

      This chapter to me felt like Oda's attempt to give Tashigi a fight, and to rebridge the subplot between her and Zoro. But the execution bothers me.
      Still, a much more exciting arc than Fishman Island. Very much looking forward to what will happen next.

      Give a concrete exemple of Zoro trashing a woman so he could help anyone. If you can't, all of that is conjecture from your part. And your interpretation of it's character not based in anything concrete…
      And don't forget Kenbunshoku. Why do people always forget it. He knew Chopper wouldn't be beaten, that's why he didn't react. He protected the crew flawlessly...

      The funny part is that he failed to prove the point to Tashigi. I'm pretty sure Monet was 100% certain he would cut her up if he wanted. But Tashigi wasn't hit by the killing intent. So she still insists he wouldn't. And that conflict between the two is fun.

      @5_Of_Spades:

      But it is not the sexism, but how characterization doesn't match previous stories, that is jarring to me. Again I hope Oda follows up with more Zoro characterization that would shed some light. I wonder if he's had some major character change after 2 years of hanging out with Mihawk. More arrogant perhaps?

      A lot of Shonen Jump mangas have been dotted with sexist undertones, and many fail at creating interesting female characters who are not just space fillers. Don't stop them being fun reads though. And One Piece is already a step above in both regards.

      What part of Zoro's characterization doesn't match previous stories?

      With the exception of the smashing of Miss Monday's head - Which forgive my own sexism, would be hard to notice she was a woman after drinking that much - that can be justified by a question of value ranking. Zoro is somewhat sexist, but before that he is a competitor. He likes to win. So he took on Miss Monday to show her he could win in a strength contest. It was aknowledgement more than anything.
      Other than that he has always condemned hurting other female characters. All but Kuina. Because for him Kuina is and will ever be the best swordsman in the world. And the one he'll never get to beat.
      It's a poetic sort of story. But as I said, it never gives Zoro any reason to remove all sexism from his character.

      And Zoro is not arrogant. Arrogance is when you boast without being able to back it up… If you can, you're just badass.

      @MattyD:

      The fact that we are disscussing SEXISM in a MANGA is like discussing BLOOD in a HORROR FILM.

      How about the fact that every female character with any importance has huge boobs and a waist you could put a wrist watch around?

      Manga also has a tendacy to get quite "rapey" as well. One Piece was an exception until the "Mermaid Princess/Swamp Man" experience.

      Why don't we discuss the fact that female StrawHats are and have always been the weakest members of the crew OR how about that Robin and Nami's tits have been out since the time skip regardless of the weather?

      Explain to me what boobs have to do with sexism. Sexism is discrimination against gender. How boobs being out fits with that is something I can't connect.
      Heck, we've had lots of shirtless man scenes. So it's more of a 'Oda prefers to draw beautiful bodies' than anything else.

      @AppleSauce:

      If go down this path, this weeks discussion will end up like last weeks. I've explained those things before.
      Luffy has no such issues unlike Sanji or Zoro who hesitates. The only thing is Oda willing to show this issue Seriously or not, and I believe he will not. Its just how people think in different parts of the world. Oda's Presentation of Zoro's character is honorable in my opinion, its a good thing he goes easy on women.

      Imagine an author who hates vilolence on women sending a message that hitting women is alright…
      When Oda wants us to hate a villain he pretty much makes us see him beating the shit out of a woman. Those types of characters are the most HATED in this manga.
      This same author cannot send a message of having his male "Good Moral" characters hitting women.
      Oda goes above and beyond to show this.

      The Big problem here is, like I've been saying there's a double standard here. "pretty" women vs. "unattractive" women
      We see how differently both are treated.

      I was addressing the meta-argument that Oda is sexist and won't let the good guys punch out beautiful girls. And I just proved that a good character -> Luffy, beat up a pretty woman.
      If you say it's because of it's character, then it immediately becomes a character issue, and not a meta-issue.
      Oda clearly has no problems with moral characters beating up pretty girls. Heck this whole fucking chapter was about sexism. Oda portrayed Zoro in a bad light because he was being sexist.

      About Zoro, after reading all the arguments I got to the conclusion THIS is his character Arc. He once knew a strong swordwoman. And they fought, and she always won. But then she died, and he never found a strong swordswoman before. Not only that, she died falling of some stairs. Died because she had a weak body.
      She wanted him to see her as any swordsman, and he saw Her (Kuina) as a swordsman before he saw her as a woman. However, that didn't change his morals about women. Ones that are probably similar to ancient japan, since he follows something similar to the Bushido. So he respects women, but does not like to hit her. Heck I feel bad hitting a woman. Everybody does. And Zoro is no exception.
      The fact that that mild form of sexism (that I don't see any wrong in. I'm treating woman in a different way because they're different. It's objective that most women are more fragile than most men) is addressed by Oda means he isn't sexist, and sees some fault in that sexism, or at least that he acknowledges the issue. We just have to wait to see where Zoro's and Kuina's story is going. This is more of a beginning than it is an end. I imagine she will show him that woman ought to be treated the same as man.
      But I don't know why the hate on Zoro.

      Heck in your childhood a girl kick's your ass every time. Then whines about being a girl… then dies.
      At what point does that make the guy think it is okay to slash in a half all the girls in the planet? Heck, if a girl hurts me, I hurt her... but I can't not hold back. It's an instinct, and I don't even know if it is a cultural or biological one. And I don't even know if it's only about sex. I feel the same about skinny wimpy guys (like me), and children. I don't get why people whine so much about it. Equality of rights is one thing. Equality of everything else is strange, because man and woman are not even equals...

      But I agree, the take on this chapter depends much on the views of each person. But Oda didn't strawman any position. Only Zoro didn't really defend himself, he just said 'yeah, I don't like to cut woman, cut her yourself if you're so damn eager' and when she was about to get killed, he just got all "well, ain't you cocky... I don't like to cut cute girls, but a man's got to do what a man's got to do" and slashed her up.
      And I believe he would've dealt the finishing blow. Or at least move out of the way and hit her in the head with haki. He wouldn't get himself killed, that's for sure. Heck he probably noticed Tashigi would deal with it, with Kenbunshoku.

      It was a chapter about sexism. That much is true. And I don't know why anyone in their right mind would call an author sexist by writing a story about sexism. It's like saying he's racist because he wrote fishmen island...
      The difference is that in this case, the main character is the one with the flaw. And it isn't a main plot point. It's one that will be dealt with sparingly, and will probably last until the last third of the series.

      Hrrr, Zoro is normal. He will kill anyone one he needs to kill. He could deal with Monet without killing her, so he didn't. When she was about to take a bite of Tashigi, he sliced her, plain and simple.
      Is it sexist? No. Zoro dos it with everyone. He used the back of the sword storming inside the Galei La company. He killed 200 bounty hunters, because he couldn't deal with them in any other way. But he only crushed Miss Monday's skull in self defense. She caught him, he caught her…
      And see what he did with Hyouzo. He did everything to avoid cutting him up.

      And where was Tashigi downplayed? She cut fucking Monet... More than most straw hat could do. Since when is getting her ass kicked by a Logia bad?

      I don't know what Manga your reading but it's not One Piece. If you think Oda isn't Sexist than your denying Many obvious things that have happened in the manga.
      Pell Tried to Attack Robin, Every Single Strawhat Raised a gun at Robin(Zoro a Sword) But nothing happened the pretty lady didn't get hit by a Good Moral Male Character.
      Oda cannot send the message which allows "GOOD MEN" hitting pretty ladies but ugly ones are fine. Luffy Punching Vivi in the Desert can be Really Talked about for hours.
      Luffy hitting Vivi on Merry is a way of Scolding someone doing a bad thing.
      Zoro respected Kunia and Yet She died Because she was a WOMEN… Oda tells us this....
      Zoro Believes women are Weak and Fragile because Kuina died. It is Tashigi who will try to change it now.
      There are tons of other things.

      edit: LOL, how and where have my ideas been proven wrong....?
      I just started talking about this. LOL

      1 word:
      Miss Valentine!
      Proven wrong?

      I actually think Zoro has some motive else. Just, hitting women is bad doesn't seem logical. Maybe he figured out something about Monet. Remember Luffy didn't take her seriously too. Perhaps it's her fruit power. Like she ain't a Logia, but a Yukki Onna Zoan. She is invulnerable because that is exactly what Yuki Onna's do. And one of the powers may be to make man extra vulnerable.

      And if I'm making a theory I can go and guess even more. Perhaps she got the DF from Caeser. He was studying Mythological Zoans (Japanese Ryuu), and he had a reason to make her invulnerable (trading her heart for Law's… She can really just turn the heart to snow, right?)
      Maybe that's the reason why she underestimates herself. She's not used to being so powerful. And probably doesn't even know Haki.

      Just a random theory.

      ABOUT COO:
      Well, I read a really cool triology called Mistborn… Mild spoiler, there they can burn a metal called 'Atium' which basically lets them see a little into other's people's futures. That makes them literally INVINCIBLE in a fight. As they'd know exactly where other people would dodge (it also ennanced their reflexes). There was something, though. If too people were burning Atium at the same time, they would be changing what they would do with each image of the other person's future, and so the images go on an infinite loop and just become irrelevant clouds around the person. Maybe that is what happens when two COO user's fight. Because, as ilustrated by Enel and his priests, Mantra is fucking overpower. All of them only lost when they lost control of their Mantra. But it isn't that good a thing when you're not the only one having it (it's a radar and nothing else).
      That's how I'll see it until future explanation.

      About Luffy and Monet.
      Let me remember you that Luffy isn't giving two fucks about the kids. He doesn't even want to beat Ceaser. He wants to catch him, because Law said so. That's why he went for the catch, instead of punching him brainless, and only resorted to punching when grabbing failed. So to him Monet is just a barrier. If he was mildly serious, he might have punched her, but he wasn't trying to defeat her. So he threatned before, and I'll assume there's more to her powers than cold. Maybe Yuki Onna Zoan, and her embraces steal a person's life force? Seems interesting. Only downside is that being an Harpy named Monet who uses awesome glasses is already cool enough. Making her a Yuki Onna... I don't know if I can handle it. :<
      Still, Luffy did a great job of finding an escape route. Let me remember you that the hut was too small for him to swing an elephant gun. So he'd have to punch it 10 times (1 time broke a single hut)
      And let's not downplay Monet. She seems as flawless as Alabasta's Robin.

      Chopper protecting the kids was heart wrenching and just plain endearing. Who the hell said there was no character development? I see plenty here...
      Monet appearng there was just :X damn her, so evil and yet... how am I suposed not to like her... Her smiling face with the falling snow. The snarky retort. She's the perfect vilain. If she gets defeated this arc I'm gonna be disapointed. She needs to fly away :<, but then her vs all-the-strawhats (-Luffy, Chopper and Franky)+ Samurai... She'd need to be a Beast...
      Eager to see Brook's reaction to her power. He is the cold guy, after all.

      Law and Vergo... I agree with some explanations posted here.
      Vergo was already toying with his heart. Law managed to snatch it, but got soro'd and kicked to the face. Him managing a hit is a proof of how overpowered he is. You need his own ability to defeat him. 8D
      Smoker's entrance was just badass. And now I'm eager for the fight. Smokey's fights are awesome. Just love the smoke dynamics, with him swirling around kicks and leaving the jutte behind, throwing some faint's in. He's the logia who better uses the flexibility the power grant's him... (probably because he's the only logia without an axe 'you die if you touch it' ability... Kizaru has the laser beams, Aokiji can just freeze... etc

      Only thing I didn't quite like is that Tashigi should've cut down the young dragon. That would be a cool way to give her value :3, but maybe he will play a different role.

      I honestly don't see what everyone's problem is…infact I have a task for all you hardcore fans with ALL 63 CURRENT VOLUMES OF ONE PIECE.
      Starting at WHATEVER arc you want, before CP9, read only 1 chapter per week.

      I have a feeling every arc in this series is considered shitty to you people…For god`s sake Oda took up about 4 weeks worth of chapters for that Shandian flashback, and it was still amazing.

      Edit: I should say it doesn't matter if you have up to 63, anything before CP9 (which is when most people got into One Piece anyway, so I'm sure you all read most of that week-to-week.

      Yeah. This. Just. THIS!!
      I mean, I just said the same, only it was the reverse since I was being sarcastic. But THANKS for being so clear. Like, THIS. I think I'll lurk here, and as soon as next chapter is out, this will be on the quoted on the 1st page of discussion. It needs to be. Maybe even in the 1st post.

Blablablabla i'm a blind fan who actually jumps when someone says something negative about One Piece blablablablabla Really, i'm not even a Naruto fan (i only said that 1 chapter, 1! was epic for me). I like One Piece (but i'm not an extreme blind fanboy) and i'm critical with things that so many people are seeing now in this arc (and i'm not the only one). And men, calm down my comment about Aohige was ironic and not serious lol Take your pills.

      Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahahhahahahahaahhahaha

      hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaahhaahahahahahahahahahahahahah
      complaining is not the same as critiquing...
      You're a pretty bad critique if I dare say so. It almost seems like trolling... Oh, wait silly me, of course this arc is boring. 2 chapters running between some stupid gates, how boring. And if CC had not stopped them it would be so fucking stupid of him. He would be one dumb scientist and a piece of shit as a villain... Not even a door stopping them.
      Oh and this new arc is so different from all the ones before the war. Like really, before that, every chapter had something that ROCKED. And don't forget that THERE WAS NO COMEDY, it was just fast paced action, NOTHING LIKE BLEACH. NOTHING AT ALL!

      This is particularly baffling to me, because if it were paced faster, we would have LESS One Piece. Think about it, all of the rad little things would be left out, and for what? So we could get to the end of PH faster? So we could get to the fights faster? Imagine if the previous arcs had been approached with this attitude, they would have been shit.

      I love the pacing. Overall One Piece story telling has always been like this. I admit it may be kind of slow for majority of people but when you go back to read it as a whole these kinds of drama is needed. This one showed how Tashigi and Smoker interracts with their crew for example. When we will get to see these kinds of these after PH?

      2. Where did Smoker and tashigi get their jutte/sword from? Last chapter smoker didnt have his jutte and i assumed the sword tashigi had was picked up from a defeated henchman. But now seeing smoker with his jutte it seems like thats tashigis real sword. Where did they come from?

      Sometimes I feel like everyone in this forums started reading one piece during the War.
      The pacing is simply back to normal, and I like it much much more this way.

      It's true that reading weekly becomes kind of meh, nothing really epic happening weekly. But the arcs become much more solid, and it is overall BETTER.

      People should realize that if you're reading this continuously, and not weekly, this chapter would simply be an hilarious setup, and you'd just eagerly press your right arrow to jump to the next page.
      It gets less intense reading weekly, but I prefer that than inventing fake-climaxes and rushing the story, just so every chapter can have something beyond norm.
      This way it feels way more natural as a whole, and I OBVIOUSLY prefer that too some weak weekly hype. I like One Piece as a good work of art, not as a weekly fix of my favourite drug.

      @NuFiasco:

      well I'm tired of Oda always relying on the same kind of tramatic situations in every recent arc so far. It's always been some large (literally large) opposition. I dunno, maybe Oda has thing for giant monsters now? But it's getting stale to me. Oars from Thriller Bark, Oars Jr. in the war? Noah? Now Shinukuni or whatever. Even the Pacifista seemed like a cheap cop out during the war to just make things seem more chaotic. That and I just haven't been feeling any character development or interesting character interactions this arc. I dunno, just I'm noticing a pattern in Oda now. Well at least a new one.

      EDIT: Another thing I'm noticing that he's reusing is the typical Boss aniki kind of character who has underlings who all, literally all have the same personality. It'd be more interesting if they acted different based on their alignment or viewpoints instead of screaming "BOSS!!" or "Master!!!" When they get fucked over.

      I found a boring trend in the world. Everything is made of atoms. 😕 What will I do with my life??

      If you try to find similarities between two things, you'll find them. The key is too look at the differences.
      I mean, I can get you a similarity between One Piece and the bible, if I try. Heck, the giant got his hands pierced, like jesus. Enel thinks he's god, like … god.
      You're comparing a cloud of gas with a giant?
      And Oars Jr. was protagonist not antagonist.
      And since the pacifista cause panic they're also like the giants?

      WTF.

      A chapter with 15-16 pages, where only 2-3 pages are good. Oda dragged the children-master-Usopp-Nami confrontation to far. Should have been done much faster.

      What are you talking about? Seemed fast to me ~_~. The pace was high, just not the number of pages.
      And you are heartless. How come you didn't like all that drama with the kids beating on the ones helping them. T_T You're just mad you didn't see everything you wanted. Just relax, you'll eventually see everything, the wasted pages are not wasted, are extra drama and development. The kind of thing that would make you care if we discovered (not even a guess, just hypothetical speech) that Big Mam had been subjected to those drugs and that was the reason she became all messed up. And it also develops Caesar character even more, transforming kids into drug addicts and making them kill those who try to help them.

      If Caeser isn't the most despicable villain in One Piece, he is close.

      Underground brokers selling chemical weapons. With support from some higher ups from the marines.

      And damn, that whole scene with the kids killing for drugs. And Caeser revealing that he might like to do its speeches and explain his abilities, but he does it because he can. Now, who in hell can defeat Caesar? My guess? He will be condensed ~~.

      But we do have Hajime no Ippo. I watched it a LOOONG time ago, but I remember the animation and art being pure golden. And it had a fair amount of episodes.
      And I still wonder if having One Piece be a Seasonal Anime, with extremely high pace (no cutting, but no adding) and a break in between seasons wouldn't be the best.
      Or atleast they could keep it going as it is and release OAD's of the important fights with epic animation. Now that would be splendid.

      Oh c'mon, now the connection makes total sense
      I mean… Monet has a shirt that says Happy (and she is a Harpy (sounds like happy in japanese), Candy is a prominent theme, CC's pet is named Smiley. Ceaser CLOWN.
      Everything is connected to the age of smiles! And the ringleader even had the alias JOKER!

      Everything was so subtly hinted… awesome.

      Oh and this does seem like BW up to eleven.

      Dofla is Mr0 ->The ringleader
      Monet is Robin -> The cool girl with intentions difficult to read
      Law is Vivi -> The ally connected with the enemy organization.
      Smoker and Tashigi -> Are smoker and Tashigi

      The rest keeps the originality of the arc, but it does have the nostalgic feeling of discovery and fighting bigger enemies.
      Still, lil' boys made giants on crack... Forcing drought in an whole island isn't much better, but... That scene with the mother crying, hoping that her son still lives, and the cutting to the children violent with the withdrawal, and Ceaser appearing, ready to give them more. That was a powerful scene. I'm just hoping next chapter keeps going from there, instead of skipping to the kids captured and Nami and Usopp unconscious. :S
