Thats not a horse, thats a crane bird.
Kaido is actually a good and honorable guy that is under influence and/or forced to do bad by Jack who is working behind the scenes and pretending to be an underling. Kaido wants to die so he would escape from Jack and his tyranny.
You heard it here.
I can already see Sawyer's, KoL, RogersBase and Fornever's reaction. Yoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo
Okay, time to unpack this chapter.
First off, some notes:
Vivi is cute but she looks way too much like Nami there
Love the continuing mafiosa stuff from Big Mom's crew. I know it was a serious moment but I couldn't help laughing at the idea of someone trying to stuff Ivankov's giant head in that little box.
Pekoms is great
Carrot is cute
Nekomamushi is adorable
Sudden transition to party felt awkward
I get that the adults falling asleep is supposed to be a gag, but it just fell flat for me. So many ways to avoid that problem.Alright, now for thoughts/predictions.
Some people are questioning why Sanji wanted a bounty and accurate picture if he was avoiding his family. The obvious answer is that the Vinsmoke family had no use for Sanji until now, for political reasons. As the third son in the family with a good heart, Sanji isn't cut out to be a killer and serves little use as heir or otherwise to the family. He ran away or was abandoned and Papa Vinsmoke never bothered to look for him because he never had a use for Sani. With Sanji gaining fame as a pirate and the potential for inroads with Big Mom, Papa Vinnie recalls Sanji for purely political reasons. This also implies that the first and second sons of the Vinsmoke family are already married or otherwise taken. With their apparent influence with the WG, it's easy to suppose that those marriages are to important figures in the World Government, Yonkou, or even possibly the Revolutionaries. In keeping with the complexity of the New World, I'm willing to bet that we'll see representatives of two or more other factions at the Tea Party or wedding.
It seems to me like far too many people are thinking "rescue Sanji" means kidnap him or steal him back. That's an awful idea, because there's no way to ensure that Big Mom doesn't go after some of Sanji's loved ones in retaliation. What needs to happen instead is that Luffy needs to convince either Papa Vinsmoke or Big Mom that the wedding is no longer in their best interest. "Ruin the wedding" works better if he can eliminate the reason for the wedding in the first place rather than just abscond with the groom. Luffy likely hasn't thought this through yet, so I'm going to predict that he'll manage to secretly contact Sanji and ask him to leave. Sanji will point out that he can't leave while his friends are still at risk but will agree to help cancel the wedding. The one caveat is that Big Mom can't have a reason to blame the Strawhats for canceling the wedding; she will have to either decide to call it off of her own accord or be placated in some other way.
As for the delegation sent to interfere with the wedding, the Strawhats would be crazy to let Luffy go on a delicate mission like this by himself. Either Nami or Brook will accompany him and Pekoms; of the two, Brook seems more likely since he seems to have some knowledge of or history with the Vinsmokes. Also Carrot will go, because Carrot. That means the eventual Big Mom-side team will probably be Luffy, Sanji, Brook, Pekoms, Carrot, and probably Jinbe plus maybe another unexpected ally.
And Caesar! :ninja:
I'm all for Luffy, Brooke, and Carrot crashing a wedding.
So much yes. I dont know why but I just want to see those three and only those together. Maybe Franky as well.
I'm calling it now. Brook has a grudge against Sanji's dad and he will fight him 1v1 at some point. Boy would that be awesome…
Sorry, buddy! I take back what I said about the 'bad example' that such act sets. I tried to strike through that text, but I don't have that option.
I would really like those two around. They make the story line a lot more interesting. Momo leaning against Nami's breast, while Sanji, Brook, and Kinemon are frustrated. Those moments are funny. I also like his dragon form and the extremely formal way with which he talks. I find myself having a lot of fun when I am reading things relevant to them. Even last chapter when Kinemon was reacting the the rumours that Kyros had spread entertained me. I also like the eyeliner he puts around his eyes, the ways he uses his eyebrows, the way he dresses, and his perverted side towards women. There isn't a side of him that I complain about. I am wholeheartedly with the idea of joining the crew; however, when starring reality in the face, I find myself crushed by the feeling that he won't join.
Everyone around the Straw Hats have a dream, but I didn't see any from Kinemon. We could say that ‘freeing’ his country from the control of Kaido is his dream, but once that’s done, what else would motivate him to be with the Straw Hats in their journey to reach Raftel? For the moment, I can’t find anything.
Usopp's past (about his father leaving him behind) serves to teach children to not give up and become strong, even if they don't have their fathers or/and mothers around, but I don't think that the same setting will be repeated because it has already accomplished its purpose (of teaching children…) through Usopp's past.
My friend, dreams come and go. Kin'emon could pull a "Well, now that you mention it, I always wanted to…" when the right time comes a.k.a at Wano kingdom or something like that ^^.
I love Kinemon, too. He is one of my most favourite characters in One Piece. I would have liked him to be one of the Straw Hats, if it hadn’t been for the fact that he is a ‘father'. It sets influentially a ‘bad example’ about how ‘parenting’ should be. Imagine a father leaving his 8-year-old son behind and going on an adventure. That is wrong on many levels. However, I believe he will be with us, at least, during two arcs(if not more): Zou and Wa no Kuni. So that should compensate.
Momonosuke for cabin boy! Maybe something like "I am a man now I am an adult i need no father to take care of me" or something will happen that will make momonosuke not be a reason to not join straw hats :P.
Well, I wanted to share my thoughts about Rebecca. Rebecca’s life turned upside down at the age of six. From then on, every citizen at every nook and cranny in Dressrosa has begun bearing his fangs at her because of the misguided notion that her grandfather was the cause of their suffering and casualties ‘that night’.
Normally, when a person finds herself in that kind of situation, she will eventually develop retaliative behavior in order to vent her exasperation, frustration, and so forth. However, Rebecca is different in this aspect. She is a naturally kind person and, on top of that, she made a promise to her deceased mother to never ever harm anyone. Being faithful to her mother’s wishes and her kind nature, she vents those poisonous emotions through crying.
In this week’s chapter, she has abdicated the kingly throne, which is notably enviable by a profusion of people; embraced her father’s past crimes and sins without a second thought; and decided to live with him regardless of public opinion. She really has a beautifully tender nature. No wonder Oda-sensei made her story a central focus of this arc.
I want to talk about Barto. Barto has a lot of cool, funny reactions, which appeal a lot to the readers - reactions among which is the distorted vision of Tsuru and Sengoku, and the teary fright that surfaced at the sight of Fujitora’s coming. He will make a decent addition to Luffy‘s crew. He has a lot of funny, behavioral traits, too – just what you would expect from another Straw Hat.
I would like to see his faith in Luffy challenged when Luffy starts experiencing ephemeral moments of defeat at the hands of an overwhelmingly strong opponent(Kaido?). I want to see the depth of such faith. Will it waver, or will it stand firm until the end? I am really curious about this answer.
Bellamy goes without saying. I love that guy. He was loyal until the end. He reminds me of Squardo, whose faith in his father easily crumbled when the marines hoodwinked him by an intellectual sleight of hand, causing him to stab him(Whitebeard). In such cases, Bellamy’s faith does not waver. I like people like him.
Furthermore, his membership of the Straw Hats will also symbolize the absolution of past mistakes. For such reasons, I will be glad to see him as one of the Straw Hats.
What about Kin'emon? :P I know I know, not another swordsman right? But look at this this will blow your mind:
Wind - Three swords - Zoro
Ice - One sword - Brook
Fire - Two swords - Kin'emon
@Bartholemew:
Yeah, a good chapter overall. I almost cried a little bit at the end.
However, I just want to slap every non-named character this chapter. Seriously, these Dressrosians… And the Marines aren't better as well due to their sheer incompetence. So, there's a pirate with DF powers granting him immunity to bullets holding a person without these powers whom you actually want to save - and they are moving fast. Really a good idea to shoot...
--- Update From New Post Merge ---
And why does that woman wear the same dress as Sugar?
So knowing that, Fujitora used gravity on the soldiers so that they would hold their fire and not shoot Rebecca. The only explanation you could pull out of this chapter without further knowledge.
Oh yeah, for sure that is certainly true. Kaido couldn't even have eternal life/youth though, with Law still being alive.
Well, I guess the person who would have done it wouldve been the past user of the fruit but since the theory is wrong talking about it is pointless….
@mario:
i hope doflamingo return to dressrosa and kill every citizen there
Why? Why do you hope for that? Lol
Well yeah, close enough. If you want to get specific, it's not eternal life, but eternal youth. With eternal life, you could possibly still age :)
The reason im correcting you is that ive seen enough people mistaking it for "Not being able to get killed" thus "Kaido has the immortality from Ope Ope no mi" theories get created and that is completely false. I'm just making sure you aren't making the same mistake :P
He probably feels like he owes Mugiwara-ya to help with whatever problems the Strawhats will have dealing with (probably) Kaido. He still has that ultimate immortality technique right?
Not immortality, eternal life. Theres a difference.
I was half expecting a "Gear Fifth" panel :ninja:
3: Monet is dead 'nuff said.
I highly doubt that she is considering the fact that Oda went out of his way to draw a metal spike outside the heart after the stab hinting at the fact that Ceasar hit the heart with the spike, grazed the flesh which made it bleed, making the spike slip off the cube and miss it thus it gets stuck in the ground and Monet faints like Law did once Ceasar applied similar pressure.
Also, new topic: Crocodile for nakama :ninja:
Yeah Robin didn't care, she just saved Luffy and Cobra but she didn't care.
Read the link i posted to see what Monet did then because im not gonna explain it to you.
In the end, no matter what you say im not gonna change my opinion about Monet joining the crew because I like her that much, but I'm not gonna try and force everyone else into having the same opinion. Just remember that ANYTHING can happen, even if it has a 0.0001% chance of happening, or even less.
You are making assumptions of Monet character when she has shown no remorse while doing what she did, if she did it because she is afraid of Doflamingo, Oda would have shown her regret, he didn't care to portray that so thats a baseless assumption.
Robin saved Luffy in Alabasta, she always had good intentions, she had her own reasons to be with Crocodile and she wasn't responsible for the bomb, plus you say Monet is scared of Doflamingo but you don't think Robin knew she couldn't do shit because of Crocodile? Robin redeemed herself in the same damn arc.
I guess she just didn't care then, just like Robin.
@Doffy.:
1. Which is not unique at all especially since she sounds a lot like Robin pre-Alabasta . And Oda very much likes to make a strawhat unique and distinct .
2. Except Oda never really made an effort in hinting at her "dream" that would allow her to join the crew .
3. Yes we can play the "what if" or "she will" card but the fact remains she didn't have chemistry with the crew in a 50+ chapter arc . And no Luffy did not show any interest in her .
4. And how does that fit into the crew again?
5. Except her face is like any other female character in the series . Which wouldn't be the case if Oda was making her a strawhat.
6. Chopper already has that trait . And franky too at being called a pervert . So once again no that trait is not unique .
7. Purely assumptions . Don't need to even say anything .
Well ignoring the fact that neither of them is joining, one did evil shit the other one didn't or not the kind of unredeemable stuff like feeding kids drugs, no one should be suggesting Monet as for Viola they are wrong but its atleast not dumb.
Robin allowed a fucking country to almost blow up with millions of civilians and did she bat an eye? No. But was she redeemed? Yes. Monet's mission was to basically guard Ceasar. If she didnt then Doffy would kill her. She had no choice.
[Hide]
As much as I would have liked Monet to join (logia! boobs! unique weapon! wings! Fandom will never get better than that!), Sugar being her sister sealed trashed this theory for good. Sure Nami too has a sister waiting at home, but her sister ain't no emotional wreck with a dangerous ability.[/Hide]
How the hell is her having a sister like Sugar makes her not able to join any other crew? I don't remember Sugar showing ANY concern about Monet's death so I would understand that they probably hate each other.
@Doffy.:
Answer these questions very honestly :
Does she have a unique personality? Does she have a overarching dream ? Does she have any chemistry with the crew? Does she bring a unique skill to the crew ? Does she have a unqiue design ? Does she have a unique quirk ? And Is she overall a really unique character for the crew ? If not then she simple isn't joining .
I'm just gonna drop this theory about Monet then if you did drop one about Viola.
https://mangahelpers.com/forum/showthread.php/2999579-There-s-Something-About-Monet-%28Nakama-Theory%29
Don't even argue with me without reading this first tho, I don't want to explain stuff over and over again.
I can't believe you guys seriously would take Viola instead of Monet…
For me one of the greatest dreams is Smoker joining.
In this arc…
Barto won't join, he will become Luffy's "first allied captain" but won't join
Bellamy will join Barto's crew
Rebecca is out of question, she has found again her father and must build back Dressrosa, then go to the Reverie
Same for Kyros
Violet in this arc has definitely the most chances as she is a DANCER and she also has powers that would help the SH a lot.
My bet is that IF someone joins in this arc, it will be Violet.
You cant state everything like its fact tho. Anything can happen.
Caesar was quite open that the treatment was going to kill the kids in front of her (witnessed by Momonosuke and retold in chapter 685) so there's no way she didn't know.
Well, that doesnt mean she cant redeem herself then…...
Can she? :ninja:
He also said that he will draw a flag after finding 10 people :ninja:
Did he? Link me the chapter, I'm interested
Dude almost everything u said was speculation especially about Monet and Barto. The likelihood of anyone joining from Dressrosa is extremely low. If someone joined right now then Jinbei would have to join in Zou or wano, or on the way to Zou. Also there are way too many ifs for a lot of these people as shown by your post and the if and assumes. I want Barty to join or maybe Cavandish but neither is so….. unless they both joined and Jinbei dies :ninja:
Every single crew member before they joined had speculation and ifs and that didn't mean that they are off the list. Oda doesnt have to follow the same pattern every single time. Maybe Barto will be an ally first for a few arcs and then something happens to his crew and he has to join straw hats, nobody knows. I am talking about the characters that have the most chances to join based on what other crew members showed before they joined. Robin broke the pattern by joining in randomly out of no where, only THEN we get to know her intentions, dreams, past and why she did join the straw hats. And besides, whats with the "only 10-11 crew members" bullshit? Luffy said he wants AT LEAST 10 not counting himself, he never said he wanted ONLY 10, hell there can be 20 straw hats or even 30, not saying its gonna happen tho but it can.
The same way he can teleport from midair on Sunny while holding Ceasar on one hand and Sanji on the other.Yup,his power is that broken, but this is an other debate.Hell,we shouldn't have come to this extent in order to turn down Monet. The monent we saw her defending her rights to drug children with lethal candies, the case was sealed.
That still seems fishy, although him throwing the paper makes more sense. About the candy, maybe she didn't know that the candies are drugged? Her mission was only to guard Ceasar, that doesnt mean she knows everything Ceasar is planning on doing :ninja:. I admit, that is speculation, but hell, this is what the forums are for.
She didn't. Law did. He didn't want Chopper running into the room when he already had non-seastone cuffs and a plan.
How do people still miss that like 3 years later?
How the hell would Law throw a paper when he was in shackles? It wasn't his ability since then the paper wouldve simply been teleported into choppers hands, not thrown.
@The:
Is she even an astronomer or is that just based on that one book she was reading?
We know little about her. And what we do know doesn't make her crew material. At least she's got a rack.
Wasn't that the exact stuff we knew about Robin before she joined? The fact that she was reading the book is enough evidence, because Oda wouldn't be putting these little details for whatever reason, because if not then she would be reading a random book that doesn't relate to something that will most likely be relevant and important later on.
@The:
Can you tell me anything about Monet that isn't based on her appearance? She's a girl and has a unique design? Is that crew? Too the crew with you!
"Is an Astronomer" "Logia DF" She also has that enemy-ally sort of thing, has a quirk of being weak to compliments and pretty strong. She is basically a better version of Robin, but still has enough differences to be a crew member, in my opinion.
The three people that I want to join the most are Monet, Kin'emon and Bartolomeo, just feels like they would complete the strawhats.
Monet is believed to be an Astronomer and this will probably be relevant when Enel gets reintroduced or something like that. She also has a unique design, shes a logia fruit user and a female. Also, lets go with the theory that she is still alive, and I believe she is.
Bartolomeo could be the ship defense, he has a pretty cool design and a quirk. Plus his dream is joining the Strawhats isn't it? And to people saying that then he would no longer have a dream, he might develop a new one, similar like Usopp did a few times. Lets also imagine that something happens and the "he has a crew" restriction is lifted.
Kin'emon tho, im not really sure what his place in the crew could be, but he has funny quirks, he already has funny interactions with Brook and Sanji, Zoro as well, and he fills up the last missing place on the sword users
Zoro - Three Swords - Wind element
Kin'emon - Two Swords - Fire element
Brook - One Sword - Ice element
Lets also imagine that a reason comes up why he can become a pirate and leave his son in the Wano kingdom.
I really want Monet to join the Strawhats as the astronomer :ninja:
So Usopp is basically sitting on his ass doing nothing right now eh? Also, how are the goons from the casino alive?? Weren't they crushed into the hole by Fujitora? Or are they the ones that didn't get into the fight?
And how the hell is the string to the strawhat still holding on lmao
What does "Submerged" means to you?
But a Mizu-Mizu no Mi user wouldn't be submerged into water, he would BE water.
"Moving Water"? A river would kill a devil fruit user the same as a container over their chest high. It's the quantity of water that affects them. Ankle deep is nothing, half way is "I'm feeling faint" and over the chest is "I feel like I'm dying".
Then why does rain not affect them, hm?
I've wanted the water logia to join the crew. Its not that overpowered because the user is its own weakness, so it can't do the cool logia stuff, but still is water and can move around stupidly as a puddle.
I imagine to turn into a water form, the person would have to keep his water constantly moving since moving water doesn't affect DF users, and also tap water might also not affect them but idk. Or just have an exception with that water disadvantage this one time :ninja:
Chi (Blood) Chi no Mi Logia type that lets the user to become and control blood, have the ability to stop people's hearts instantly and if needed, take manual control of a dieing persons heart and blood to keep him alive…..
That along with Mizu-Mizu no Mi are my dream devil fruits :ninja:
I see Franky's unmodified back as an extension of his personality and character. In the past, he didn't modify his back because it was difficult to do work on his own back. Now that he probably has the ability to do work on his back (I don't see how couldn't have this ability, what with Vegapunk's old lab accessible to him and all the modifications he has now made on himself), I like to think that he just didn't think to do so - he isn't used to working on his back, and so neglected doing so.
Kind of like most weight lifters - all chest, shoulders, and arms, no legs or back. I mean just look at Franky's legs. Just look at them. He looks like every idiot at the gym who I, nonetheless, desperately hope never wants to punch me.
Why would he need to armor up his back if he is not planning on running away from battle? ;)
Luffy will put Mansherry in his pocket and fight kaido that way. Instantly healing after every blow.
I had to log in only to say that you sir, are a bloody genius.
All of the straw hats combined :P
