If Oda really wants to put in some underrepresented minorities in powerful positions, he'll put a black person in two.
There's only one slot left.
Black…
And female.
The last Shichibukai will be Condoleeza Rice.

Does anyone have the picture of Coby from the 2007 calendar? Apparently he's in there, but I can't find the pic online.
Dragon: Think of it, Luffy! The lives of your nakama for the sake of our glorious revolution!
Luffy: I am gonna piss in yo mouf
Dragon: Do you think you can achieve anything in this world with insignificants dragging you down?
Luffy: I ainn' kiddin I will punch you in the bootyhole
When IS the next chapter?
Welcome to the forums.
Interesting theory, but this;
is simply false. Oda never said anywhere Mihawk could cut elements.
No, he told me when we were playing Super Mario Kart for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
**I agree with this part of the post.
But to say Blackbeard can't become strong enough to kill Whitebeard is just stupid. Though, I really doubt he will defeat him.**
Why wouldn't a major upheaval in the guise of the defeat of the Strongest Man In The World be possible, story-wise, anyway? I think with all the buildup Oda's given to Blackbeard, a victory by Blackbeard would set him up as the major arch-villain of the series. That doesn't sound like much of a stretch to me.
Which of the Square Sisters is Mozu, and which is Kiwi? I need to know for an art commission. T.I.A.
That's what particularly sad with this character, he's so pathetic you have to spin the most insignificant thing he does without crying, drooling and breaking half the bones of his body into a feat for the ages and a proof of development.
wow a strawman argument definitely doesn't count as spin your gumshoe detective work has blown the lid off the usopp-lover media machine!
Spandam beating the shit out of Robin was extremely satisfying. It's like she had what she deserved for distrusting her friends and acting as an emo bitch for all that time.
"So… Mr., uh, Aldrich, what do you do for a living?"
"Oh, me? I'm a troll on an anime forum. "
I'm kinda curious about the Kuma fight, just to see how Oda plays the Christian thing out in the manga.
Coby hasn't really changed that much, though, except he's lost his baby fat because he's been training under one of the biggest badasses in the Grand Line. I don't see him as "evidence" of a time skip so much as the result of training and a little puberty.
Since Vivi wouldn't join anyway, I'd take Bon Clay along for the ride. He'd be a rad spy.
For all of you decrying Zoro for a lack of comedic moments:
V for Victory.
That is all.
I was under the impression that Garp & Roger were long lost lovers.
…
YOU CAN'T DODGE A FIST OF LOVE.
banned.
@Octogon:
I never said he was Mihawk level. Though I do believe he was around Skypeia-Zoro level.
Hmm. I'll grant you that one, it's a likelihood.
While I'm all for the glorification of the inhuman awesomeness that is Norland, I don't think he's on the level of Mihawk or even Zoro. That "god snake" was smaller than the one Zoro couldn't cut through, and if Norland were really such an incredible fighter he might have been able to escape his capture, barring the idea that he didn't want to break out.
EDIT: Gotta respond to Octogon's post. I'm not saying Norland wasn't a man of IMMENSE strength, but I really don't think that he was on the level of proven fighters like Mihawk and Zoro. Lvneel is a MUCH smaller navy than the one of the World Government, keep in mind.
Smoker is fanservicey because he's barechested?
…
His fighting style doesn't invole rubbing his opponent's erogenous spots.
I dunno, I detected a little bit of cupping when he caught luffy with that WHITE-OUT.
The arc that made me almost lose interest in One Piece had to be the Water 7 arc. If Robin freely left the Straw Hat crew to sacrifice her life, then let her be. It was her decision.
…This is the Straw Hat Pirate Crew we're talking about.
Skypeia felt a little detached from the 'meat' of the series, and more like a bit of a sidequest. However, I thought that it had some very good parts. I enjoyed the Norland part very much, Enel made an excellent villain, and I liked the Shandians–Conis and her father weren't too interesting, however, and most of the minor villains were downright boring, unlike in Arabasta.
I never wanted to see the Franky Family die, but I still feel Merry surviving is a bit of a stretch.
Yeah, the Going Merry was MEANT to 'die', in a way. All this buildup and foreshadowing just to have EVERYTHING return the way it was?
I don't know what will happen next chapter, though. I guess we'll just see how it unfolds.
I still think that this arc won't end without a 'price' paid, at least of some sort.
If Luffy could shitkick Smoker in a matter of seconds, then he might have a chance, but the problem comes when Smoker just turns his whole self into smoke and just chokes Luffy or whatever. There's gotta be a way to fight Logias even in elemental form.
My guess is this:
-Luffy will die
-Arlong, Kuro, Crocodile, Enel, Lucci, and Spandam will start their own world government and start killing and torturing everyone
-The sky will turn blood red
-The world will end
-Everyone will go to Hell forever
Or, you know, we might actually be reading One Piece.
To pre-empt any involvement with the more angry element of One Piece users in this thread, I declare a flamewar with myself.
Hey! I hate me!
I hate me too!
Funkfreed would look silly with his other swords. Same with Mihawk's sword.
Despite the coolness of inheriting the sword of a defeated enemy, this is a shonen manga. You know something won't be a weapon for the badass character unless it 'looks' right. Can you imagine a 300-pound cannon with a half-elephant and a big honkin' black thing?
And besides, has anyone ever considered that Zoro will inherit Mihawk's true weapon, the necklace dagger? Obviously, this is the true strongest weapon.
You know… What we know as the NES is the Famicom to the Japanese. Hope you guys realize that.
Well, Oda sure seems to have created a feeling of suspense and excitement in the fanbase.
I'd say that this has been a rather successful arc, and it's not even done yet.
Haha, seems the climax of this arc hasn't and will not disappoint. Thanks, BF!
@Xetalimn_Erket:
If the "bash" was an Erket-esque rant supported by details with logical and coherently flowing ideas, the impulse is to troll that topic without reading but most of the moderators here would enforce civility.
"Erket-esque"
You just tried to coin a new term by putting "-esque" on the end of your own name, based on how you perceive yourself on an Internet forum. Think about that.
Hmm… I really did enjoy all of the fights, but I guess I can definitely say there's a level of preference for each.
1. Franky vs. Fukurou. It was really awesome to see Franky get a major 'piece of the action', and his fighting style is incredibly interesting. 'Vegetable Punch' ranks among my top funniest One Piece moments.
2. Nami vs. Califa. It's not even the fanservice, although it was a major bonus, but the Clima Tacts in Nami's hands are probably one of the more interesting weapons in the history of anime. I mean, shit, she's just using the weather! Also, I thought that the soap thing was pretty bizarre, but about on par for One Piece battles, anyway. Thunderbolt Tempo was pretty amazing, in the end.
3. Chopper vs. Kumadori. If I had to pick a favorite CP9 member, it would absolutely have to be Kumadori. The guy's just so absolutely goofy, and Chopper managed to hold his own too. Monster Chopper might also lead to some more character development for Chopper, which would be awesome.
4. Zoro vs. Kaku. The giraffe antics were really awesome, but it felt a little fragmented because there was so much of it we didn't see because of interspersed scenes of other fights. Asura was probably my favorite finishing move out of all the fights so far.
5. Sanji vs. Jyabura. It was a good fight, to be certain, but I just didn't really like Jyabura very much as a villain. Diable Shot was pretty cool, though, and Sanji's definitely still as badass as he's ever been.
When Luffy vs. Lucci finishes I'll make a decision then. Gear 3 exceeding my expectations, though, and it seems as the fight goes on the arc just gets more and more awesome. I can't wait to see how Luffy does it. :D
More than anything, willpower seems to factor in more into a fight than a concrete standard of "strength" in the One Piece universe. At the very least, it can be counted as a major factor. Usopp can take so many hits and still get up, i.e. the Mr. 4 fight, because he can't let the dreams of his nakama be laughed at. I believe that Usopp is, at the very least, much stronger in the sense of being capable at battle than the average Human or marine, but it's because there are important things to fight for that he can really pull off a major battle. Same with the rest of the crew, it seems.
can anyone tell me please, how the story end?
I only remember that sir croc and mr1 not leaving the jail and then mr2 and mr3 were capture, how's the end?
Mr. 0, 1, 2, and 3 are put in jail, the rest of the Officer Agents open a restaurant.
How does Franky not make a good nakama? Look what he's done already for Robin and Usopp, and look how well he treats the Franky family. I'd say he fits in perfectly.
An invincible ship something I would only expect to see in the very end of the series. How dull the up coming events would be if Straw Hats would just sail through all the troubles with their new shiny no-worries-at-all ship? Not very.
Can it be disputed, though, that he DOES have a dream? He probably won't achieve it until much further towards the end, true, but he does have a dream. And by then, I'm sure the battles will be such that an invincible ship will only be useful on the sea, not against immensely powerful opponents on land.
For the people who think Oda's going to repeat the Vivi-fakeout and have a totally unexpected person join:
Vivi:
-Had a flashback
-Was strongly hinted to join the crew
-Never defeated any major enemies
-Had no specialized fighting style(the peacock rings were rather ill-defined as weapons)
-Had a reason to stay behind: she had to rule her country.
-Had no important crew role besides fitting in well, while Robin's role seems to play a major part in the core story of One Piece(understanding poneglyphs)
-Had no dream that could be fulfilled by sailing with the Strawhats
Franky:
-Had a flashback
-Is strongly hinted to join the crew
-Defeated one of the CP9, Fukurou
-Has a specialized fighting style which has been explained already
-Has a reason to leave: He's the wanted criminal Cutty Flam, and even without the Government knowing that he still joined in on their raid at Enies. He's got to leave to protect the Franky Family from the WG.
-Fulfills an important crew role: shipwright. Few people in this arc can fulfill that role and none of them have these "qualifications".
-Has a dream that could be fulfilled by sailing with the Strawhats(to build an invincible ship, and if he makes it then likely only he can maintain it)
I think that Franky's going to join, and Oda won't fake us out and switch him with another person.
