There has not been a formal decision on this but it has been suggested within the team to add Jabura, Bellamy, Blackbeard, Wiper, and Wapol. So they have a good chance of being included.
No, you can't get the characters in regular MUGEN, however, at least for the BETA, you can import other characters into One Piece: Grand Line Bout. How to do this is posted on the forums for this game. I think there's a link on page 1 of this topic.

Alright, I understand that you have other things to work on, and this project, might be hard to work on, so you do not need a deffinate answer yet.
Most sprites were from http://neuropod.net/SDB/. Whitebeard and the Doogongs were shrunken down, edited screenshots, and not proper sprites. Franky, Mr. 3, and Mr. 7 were my (not so good) custom sprites. The Unluckies were by Megadoomer. Megadoomer is also currently working on a Kaku sprite sheet.
Anyway a big HOORAY to COWMAKAZE, or to whoever is taking control of the game. And for the rest of you, that's okay, I already own your soul. (Insert big evil laugh here)

I will still contribute, but there's too much pressure at the moment, and if someone else could do a better job, it would be better for the project. Ok… The latest demo was just as bad...
This is obviously your first game project so I'll try to keep that in mind, but as a fellow programmer and game designer I'm going to be honest. Its not very good at all. First off, did you even attempt to align any of the animations? They are so jumpy its hard to imagine you spent more than 10 minutes for any of these characters.
Secondly, you need to go back and replan your system idea.
You have a very big resolution issue. The resolution should NOT be handled in such a way. For some computers this may be a very slow way to do it. Id suggest sticking to 640x480 full screen or windowed. Note: what you have there is not true full screen, its strethcing over the entire desktop resolution which could cause alot of slowdown for older machines.
You need a complete presentation overhaul. The presentation is a MESS. You use stretched and ugly JPG screen caps as your story intro. Not to mention the font is barely readable on some of those. Make a font with a clear and dividing border around it.
The fighting system needs a redo. The way you are doing your attack damage is completely wrong. Dont base it on the time the attact is coliding with the person. Im also assuming you dont even have proper collision detection either. Code a system to detect zones of a player and deal with detection like that.
Thats just the beginning. Id also suggest youd download and view other game examples for Game Maker before trying to fix this. Though, I dont use programs like this, I code my own programs in C++, I'm sure theres many options for you to view examples online somewhere.
I hope you can turn aorund this doomed looking project, we need another One Piece fighter.
Wow…harsh. Ah, well, at least you are being honest. Anyway, I'll try to answer this one...
The animations will be redone later. Right now it's just basic attack animations, so people can get the hang of the game, and so I can get to the Enies Lobby Arc quicker.
As for resolution, the full screen seen here is the full screen of Game Maker. If someone wishes to start their own game using C++ or something similar go right ahead. And, I can't seem to find another fighter made with Game Maker, to base off of. If anyone has a link, I will try to learn to do a better coded fight system.
If anyone has a better idea for between mission for story intros, please post it, or PM me.
As for damage system, this only temporary. If someone can do a better damage system, please tell me. I hope that answers all questions. After Enies Lobby, I will go back, and fix all mistakes with the game (or at least try to).
The next version will be realised simultaneously with VS. Mode. All the Strawhats (and Franky) will be automatically unlocked, and I'm pretty sure that if you have already unlocked Bobobo or Pandaman, then they will be unlocked in this version. Grand Battle Mode will also be included (hopefully). And Mister 3 will be automatically unlocked (for now). Buggy, Kuro, Krieg, Arlong and Smoker will be unlockable through story mode, and Ace, Bon Clay, and Paulie will be unlockable through Grand Battle Mode. As for when, I'm hoping for a July release, but a good A.I. may be difficult for me, so it may be later that month. Any help at this point would be greatly appreciated.

We are just using sprites from that website. However, you can find a link to the game on the Sprite Database forums, (the link is a few pages back on this topic). The Sprite Database topic was posted back when we weren't giving credit.

General Update: Thanks for the new Smoker sprites, I'm updating him now. For story mode, if you use balloon to just barely hit the first box, you can jump up the boxes to get directly under the bomb pirate, then jump and use Axe. And Luffy's balloon is used for an attack, while Gomu Gomu Shield (from the Arlong fight) is his guard. The glitch for it is going to be fixed.

The panda is to the right of where luffy starts, it's a dark blue color, and it's shaped like pandaman's head. And this version was only to fix glitches.

Alright, Franky will be shorter for the next version. I'm working on another sprite sheet with shading, Franky being shorter and more sprites. It's not done yet, so for the moment, he'll only be shorter.

Though franky's legs kinda don't match up with his body. He needs running sprites not just franky pursuit. He also needs jumping and guard sprites. Good so far though
His running sprites are Franky Centaur, his jumping sprite is on the left of Franky Centaur (based of him jumping off the building in Chapter 336), and Guard is lying on his back!

^Don't worry, i never do anything like that. If anyone can tell me what Kaitsu-gohan means, i'll try 2 do it. As for Keiichi-Kun, Smoker, Arlong, and Kuro will be unlockable characters in the actual game, therefore I didn't think it would make sense to put them in this version, then make them unlockable in the next. The demos of demos were just to get peoples opinions on the characters. I'm also fixing Usopps moves.
I can´t even get past the Luffy stage: even if I manage to climb the boxes, I get stuck up there…

This game seems to be going pretty nicely. I only have one thing to say, the edit/custom sprites are bad. Some of you may know me as a spriter at the Sprite Database (Mainly known for my Bo-bobo rips), I could help you out with sprites if needed.
YES! If you can, can you start with a decent johnny and yosaku sprite. I'll admit that the ones now are kinda pathetic. Also if you don't mind, can you try some characters from after the East Blue. Anyone else who wants to help will be greatly appreciated, and credited in the game.

I'm almost done a fix on the glitches (room order is fixed, saving is in story mode, zoro level is easier and he doesn't sink into the ground..) I'll have it done by Saturday.

To quit Training mode, or any mode, and go back to the main menu, just hit pause <enter>and choose restart.</enter>
The first zoro mission is unbeatable, when you kill all the marines ( with thier dogs ) nothing happens….

I'm glad someone unlocked him, but there's another secret character who hasn't been mentioned yet, he makes unlocking Pandaman look easy, just click on anything that looks out of place (HINT: He's unlockable through a secret in story mode)
As for bosses, most non-playable bosses are just upgraded versions of enemies, however Baroque Works members, CP9, and Playable bosses WILL have AI.

The first stage in demo mode is impossible an do i get up those boxes on to the hill with out breaking them all? I was also looking to a vs mode but apperantly its not there ;-;. Can you maybe make a separte demo just having a vs mode, where luffy, usopp,zoro,arlong,smoker,and kuro are fight againist each other not just beat up izumi. Also i see my name is in the credits yay :D. also i laughed when the den den mushi isnt playable ever get over it. lol
It's hard but it is possible. Just keep trying. I am also making another version where it is strictly VS. mode, but it could take a while.
Well…when it finally does open after ages after clicking it, it takes up alot of power. It says the file is corrupt and closes and in all this it freezes my computer.
Sorry man, this game has basicly lost me.
I'm trying to make it load faster, remember at this time it's a one man project, so it's going to take a while. EDIT: Once the file is downloaded try double clicking it once (JUST ONCE) it loads after a while, and doesn't freeze your computer.

An okay Kaku and Lucchi sprite are located earlier in this thread (Well, at least I think that they're decent)
And Zoro stopped working so I need to fix him then the demo's done. I'm really busy the next two days but as soon as I fix him, I will post. Thank you all for being so patient.
I think the worst ending is that after they beat CP9, Sogeking's mask falls off, revealing that it wasn't actually Usopp, but a chicken wearing sunglasses. Then Luffy says 'Oh! It was a chicken all along!'. Everybody laughs, then it pans up to the sky, where you see Gold Roger looking down and laughing. Then a giant 'THE END?' appears.
ya, sorry for not updating, it's not exams , i've just been busy. Right now glitches are being worked out, and new things are being tried to improve the project. If you want more news/updates, try making your own characters and PMing them to me, or Megadoomer.
The demo is coming along nicely, it's just that megadoomer and me have been pretty busy as of late, and haven't had that much time to work on it. Story Modes Demo is on mission 4/4, and the secret character has 2 attacks and his support character done (and all running and jumping animations). It will hopefully be posted soon.
I'd also tweak the following:
-The exaggerated form of the horizontal movement pose– the left arm seems enormous!
-Add another frame to some of the characters' walks; Arlong at least seems to be slipping around.
-Hatchi seems like he's just a head and fists.
-Why is Arlong's beat-em-up Nezumi? Can anyone prep up a single-pose Nojiko, Genzo, or Purinpurin?
For sprites, I used the GameBoy Advance One Piece Game's Arlong. It only has one walking sprite for Arlong, where one arm's huge and he's missing the tatoos. I will try to add some more frames, so you can see Hatchi legs at least. Also when the games full version is posted, Nezumi is the training opponent, and that's basically what these demos have been, the training mode. There's a reason why Nezumi the opponent for everyone, as beating him with certain characters in the final version is how to unlock him. If you want it though, one of those three can be his opponent for the next demo of the demo (groan. Not another one!:biggrin: )

Well, me and Megadoomer have a program called Photo Impact, which has easy picture editing, and it took him 2 days to make that one sprite. After that he worked on some other sprites and made the ONE PIECE GOLD ROGER'S TREASURE CHARACTER SELECT SCREEN

Too bad you can't have a scrollable background like when you jump.
Actually, that is possible and it will be in later levels.
Also, the latest versions are ready, with lyric-less background music (thanks to LobStar), and the ability to choose your screen size. Luffy's Gatling Gun is better. Zoro's Dragon Twister is in between where it was originally, and where it was in the last version, and Kuro is the same. Anime Masters Smoker is not completely glitch free, but he is playable. Usopp is slightly weaker (Sorry, but at least he's still the strongest!!!) and I can't seem to fix the damage glitch yet. Any complaints can be posted or PMed to me.

I'm not completely sure, I just re-named the sprites, and edited the code sprite names slightly and it worked.

Right then… Well, I've downloaded all the newest versions of the demos, and here's my opinion on how strong each character is...
I found that originally, Zoro was way too powerful with his unlimited range Dragon Twister and all his high damage short range attacks.... Now with his Dragon Twister pretty much rendered useless, I think he's too weak -___- Haha, well, is there any way to make the Dragon Twister move forward, but stop after moving, say 200 pixels (Or maybe adjust it depending on how big the level is? About 50~75% of the stage?)? I think that would make his strength just about right.
IMHO, Luffy is WAY too weak... His longest ranged attack is Gum Gum Pistol, and it's really pretty short ranged and weak... Even his ultimate move (Gum Gum Gatling? Not sure what it is) is pretty darn weak, if you ask me... Given there is going to be Luffy Gear 2 and all, I still think the normal Luffy should be of decent strength if not at least on par with Captain Kuro...
Following this thought, I found that Captain Kuro is just about right... No long ranged attacks, but all of his short ranged attacks are pretty strong, and thanks to the paralyzing-enemy attack (Whatever it's called), he's a fairly well-usable character.
Then Ussopp... I think Ussopp may be too strong, but this sorta depends on how powerful the impact dial ends up being... Is it going to deal damage to Ussopp too? 'Cause that's the way it is in the manga... Well, anyway, at this point I find that Ussopp is by far the strongest character out of the demos you've released... Which sorta contradicts the way it should be, no? =P
All this is just my opinion though, I dunno, maybe the way I judge strength is a bit biased, so you'd best see what everybody else has to say too..
Guys, I don't mean to be rude but, WAIT AND SEE WHO'S 'STRONG' AND 'WEAK' UNTIL LATER! The only way to make attacks to do more damage without completely re-doing the game and movesets, is by doubling the attacks damage. I value your opinions, but for changes to attack strength, wait till I get a bit later in the game. Zoro's Dragon Twister can be improved by what you said, and I will do that, and Gum Gum Gatling Gun will last longer. Other than that, Arlong is progressing well, and so is Story Mode, and thanks to Anime Master, Smoker will be done soon.
Well…Bellamy would be hard, but I'll start work on Arlong.

Megadoomer and Bear+Shark, I'd advise that if you decide to stick with non-midi music, you drop the bitrate of the mp3s a lot… Most mp3s you download are between 96~196kbps, but I'd say you should drop it to 32kbps... This should decrease the file size by a huge margin (Especially since there are going to be so many stages and all), and it should still sound decent.
Well, nice job with the new Kuro demo too! Can't wait 'til the final version comes out =D
Thanks for the suggestion! I did this for Kuro's demo, so it now takes up less space. His standing animation was also slowed down, and it's avaliable in the old Freewebs link.
I'm telling you right now, when that game gets off the ground and is actually a full game you are gonna be sorry for using non-midi's for music.
I should do this too. If you can get me some One Piece MIDIs, I will use them for the rest of the stages and story mode (Or low quality MP3s)
Suggestion, Add A Meter For Some Attacks Because There Are Alot Of " Heal Moves " But If You Can`t Remove The Healing Moves.
Just to point out, Megadoomer made the list of attack moves, and I didn't know that it revealed the secret character. I will ask him if I can just post the name, but not say how to unlock him. And the healing moves will either be taken out, or will be in the form of a projectile that goes up in the air and comes back down (For Nezumi) so it may also heal your opponent.
I think that I found a perfect theme for Kuro or maybe for other people if you can use it during battles in story mode, but I am not sure if I can use it because I got it from some other person's game, and I might need to ask for permission. Anyhoo, do you want the song in a PM?
