I really love the queen. The look of utter disdain she's had on her face since her introduction is for some reason super entertaining to me.

I'm pretty ambivalent about the current arc in general, but the art in this week's chapter is pretty cool looking.

Now I'm just imagining FullyDeveloped!Uravity fsu and it's glorious.

I'm still mad about Shalnark but it's not like this is the first time Togashi has brought back a likable character just to kill them off. We barely got to see Ponzu and Hanzo before they met their end and they had nice size able fandoms.

If it suits the story no one is safe. Maybe it's better that way.

I dunno, Hisoka's always been the kind of guy to want to fight someone at peak strength. Killing off the spiders only weakens his prey, and that's just very unfitting.

This whole situation makes me think of when we saw his internal monologue during Illumi and Killua's confrontation in the woods, where he was deciding what to do/who to kill based on what would give him the best fights. Maybe he's going after the spiders more because he was always planning on trying to kill them, and they're almost all going to give him a good fight. I don't think it has anything to do with lowering the amount of powerful abilities Chrollo can borrow. As for why he's attacking them now, I have no idea. Maybe he just needed something to do lol.

Hisoka is just the best. You gotta love him.

! YAASSS Best Jeanist! I can't wait to see what Horikoshi does with his quirk (also why is his neck so long??). I wonder who's gonna die though. The All for One dudezo has gotta be around somewhere. If he could damage All Might to that extent I'm sure he's got some sneaky-snake quirks that'll be hard to deal with.

Yeah it's not all that difficult or complex, there's just a loooooooooooooooooot of exposition. I bet a reread of the past 10 or so chapters would help as well. It has been over a year for a lot of us.

Aww it's kinda sad that Jirou died. He's been around since nearly the beginning! At least his ending words were suitably foreboding.

When Killua and Gon are tailing Nobu and Machi, but then get caught by Phinks and Paku. I don't know about the manga, but that scene in the 2011 anime was suuuuper tense and I loved it.

! And the return of the appetite energy ball thing! How nice for that concept to come back after 150 chapters. I wonder what Shima'll bring back next.

! Tetsux4 pounding gas dude's head in was such a great panel. Horikoshi and his assistants are really delivering with the art for this series.

Damn, these chapters since the timeskip have been just consistently good. I'm more interested and excited about everything that's going on than I have ever been about this series since I started reading it (semi)weekly.

Am I the only one that thinks that blue nitro with the life ball thingies in his hair is hot? No but really, I do wonder what's going to happen now. Does this flashback mean that the nitro were manipulating Joa or was it the other way around? And what are Setsuno and Chichi doing?

I liked that this chapter brought back some characters aspects we haven't seen in a while, though. Like Sunny's "GROOOOSSSS" outburst and Toriko wanting to eat everyone/thing.

! Holy shit I forgot how awesome Aizawa is when he's doin his thing. The way Horikoshi draws him in those action sequences is so fricken cool!

I'm totally rooting for NEO. Fuck the nitro man. I'm such a sicker for a good underdog story.

Oh man I took the test years ago and got Ravenclaw which I never felt was really accurate. Just took it again and god Slytherin! Right where I always knew I belonged.

Fuck man I forgot about Grinpatch too. He was so awesome. I get the feeling he's never going to make another appearance before the manga ends though, which is just a travesty. Same with a lot of the other Bishokukai that were sorely underutilized/killed off early on.

I will never get over how everything seemed to be looking up at the start of Area 6, and then it all went to shit in like, 5 chapters. It kinda reminds me of HxH but instead of totally abandoning the series, Shima is just kind of half assing his way through.

Last time we saw Gildartz was in a chapter with Natsu where no words were spoken. He went on a journey or something and is only there when he needs to be. So he'll probably become Gandalf. On the sunrise of the 5th day of battle, Fairy Tail shall look to the east and see him coming on a mighty stallion. Than do something that looks important but has no direct impact on the story.

Oh yeah… Huh. Well that's nice I guess. Hopefully he won't die and be resurrected with even more power like Gandalf was. Who knows.

What's Gildarts doing these days? Is he relevant anymore? Shouldn't he be doing something about this mess they're all in? I honestly don't remember the last time he was shown on screen.

This was no Luffy vs Lucci (though close), but I agree that the Blueno debut only worked largely due to how well it was directed. The animation itself was fairly standard (though consistent) compared to the better animated and memorably stylized EL fights. EL by and large was a real mixed bag, and the constant amount of filler episodes from the bridge onward.

Also, am I wrong or was W7/EL the beginning of Toei putting more effort into second unit Sakuga animation? I recall from then on there were more noticeable quality spikes presumably from an increased budget from episode to episode.

Yeah that was around the time the animation quality started increasing. It was more or less pretty consistently average up to that point with a few well animated cuts here and there and then around thriller bark (I think) they started bringing in more freelancers and allocating more frames to better animators. Which led to less consistent art and animation, but more stand out cuts. Or at least, that was the impression I got.

Wow I forgot how much I loved Tomita's key animation. I don't know what people are talking about, that was my favorite part of the episode. Shida's stuff was cool, but idk how I feel about some of the more over exaggerated character movements he uses. The beginning of the episode definitely dragged for way too long when we were all waiting for the big reveal, but overall the episode was pretty freakin good.

I don't really know how to feel about this manga. There are times where I'm really interested in what's going on, but most of the time it seems pretty meh.

Well isn't that something. This manga is pretty great.

I'm waiting for Mitsuhashi to have his big moment. Maybe it'll happen in this tournament. Who knows.

Basically all of the biggest battles are happening in Area 1 and Derous is still nowhere to be seen… interesting...
