Amazing Chapter, probably hit me the hardest emotionally since the timeskip, really loved luffy in here and it is terrible what sanji is going through, I dont think any character is OOC in this entire situation, Nami think's sanji's going too far because she's done something like this before, Luffy can read sanji well but isnt going to fight him because he's knows it is an act, the family is so used to their way of thinkingbeing right they dont really question sanji's heel turn and assume his tears are just the final traces of luffy getting burned out.To me it actually looked like ichiji and yonji are kind of congratulating him for kicking luffy's ass in a " so now you're one of us now, that's great hahaha" kind of way. Cannot wait until the wedding. This is the most gripped ive ever been watching or reading one piece.

To me in page 18 in MS the Vinsmokes brothers are totally laughing at him for what just happen with Luffy, thinking he is a pathetic shit like they always thought and that he already surrended to them.

You and a lot of people in this forum seem to totally be missing the point of what is happening in this chapter. Sanji is totally against the wall here, his ability to cook and the life of his father can be taken out in any second, so he must be super careful. He needs to wait for an opportunity to arise, he needs to buy time, and so he definitely just can't act now. He already kind of opposed the Vinsmokes in the castle so they know he wasn't given up that easily.

So Luffy approaches him, what is he going to do? Say "Yeahhh go Luffy, fuck the Vinsmokes let's go to the sea again!" One second later he loss his hands, totally retarded option.

So why is he doing this farce now? Simply, from Sanji's perspective it would be an advantage if the Vinsmokes think he gave up to them, they would lower their defenses, get confident and Sanji could have a better opportunity to strike back in the future, and against Luffy, he needed him out of the way because he could screw his opportunity to save Zeff's life. The "farce" was not supposed to be believable and thats why Sanji got what he needed for the time being, first he put Luffy on the hold for now, so he doesn't fuck with things until needed, and second, he made the Vinsmokes believe that he is surrending to them, wich is showed by their dialogues in the end.

Sanji course of actions is TOTALLY understable and the best he could do out of that situation.

I have a theory, what if this Corazon guy wasn't killed, but turned into a toy? Maybe he rebelled against Doflamingo with his squad (including Law) and got defeated. But instead of killing him, they turned him into a toy so the rebellion stopped and because the head of it was totally forgotten the underlings of Corazon went back to Doflamingo (like the soldiers of the Riku army in the flashback). So maybe Law after some years of working for Dofla and being confused discovered the truth and planned his revenge from inside (thats why Dofla thought Law was loyal to him until a few hours in One Piece time)

Doffy was trying to make Croco boy his ally and he was messing with him, he didn't want to kill him.

I think the memory lost it´s just too much. It would be the DF power with more reach by far of all the series: If for example Luffy was turned into a toy, then not only all his nakama on the same island will forget about him, but also Dragon and Garp whenever they are in the world, AND it will also affect the memory OF ENEL WHO IS IN THE MOON. In my opinion this power is just too much.

Awesome episode, 10/10 for me.

I loved this chapter, it was really great. I really felt the Brownbeard part, poor guy, and then Luffy was awesome. I liked the music choices, i think some of them weren't used since forever.

Well, there was a lot of people here saying Luffy was on a complete different league, wich i think it's not true at all. Sanji or Zoro probably could beat almost everyone that Luffy did, they are the three monsters after all.

Yes, it seems obvious that during those times Zoro was equal to Luffy in strength, but after beating someone of Crocodiles caliber his strength surpassed Zoro's. Even more so after the arcs ahead. The gap in their strength grew apart even more greatly thanks to the 3 arcs after Sabaody. But it's natural that Luffy should be on an entirely different level from his crew mates being the captain.

Being the captain doesn't mean he have to be the strongest, and I dont think that just because he beat Crocodile he surpassed Zoro. There are also people who think that Zoro is even stronger than Luffy, and there is no real proof in the manga to prove them wrong. In my opinion Oda want us to believe that the Monster Trio are on the same league, with Luffy maybe being just a tiny stronger.

That aside, you've ducked the point. Why did Oda write that speech in, in your view? What is he telling us? If you interpret big character moments in a purely in-universe way, you're either missing half of the significance, or else you just consider Oda to be such an abysmal writer as to say he cannot have been carrying any greater point.

It was clear that Sanji and especially Zoro couldn't beat Arlong because they were injured. The "message" of Oda was a lot more evident in the battle of Luffy vs Zoro in Whiskey Peak, even if power levels aren't used much in One Piece I think that made pretty clear that they were more or less equal in strength, and there is no factor that can denied this throught the entire series, even if Luffy is beating the strongest opponents.

Good episode, i thought the same about the music on tashigi entrance, that music should be reserved for the most epic moments, because it's getting a little overused.
