When me and my mother were watching the Hayao Miyazaki month thing on TCM
they were showing Laputa/Castle in the sky and in the begining when it read
"LAPUTA" she started laughing and thought it was " La Puta."
I thought that was pretty funny.

When I used to watch the Pokemon dub, my brother like to come into the room and talk when the characters would talk to make them say immature things like "HAHA I POOPED MY PANTS!!" and stuff. It was really annoying when I was trying to watch an episode. :/
Another time my lil' sis' invited a bunch of friends over and decided to watch Princess Mononoke with them. I had told her beforehand that that was a REALLY stupid idea because I knew her friends didn't like anime and they would REALLY think that that particular movie was weird, but she said that it would be fine. Later on, when I was up in my room talking with one of my friends, my sis's friends came running upstairs yelling about how my sis' was making them watch a movie with weird little naked people in it. (I think they were referring to those little spirit things? Idunno.) I swear I died of embarrassment. @x Idunno how my sis' can be so stupid at times.
Then whenever me and my lil' sis' talk about One Piece and my dad overhears it, he'll yell at us for talking about stupid things and tell us to talk about sports instead. –;
Also, my computer is in the basement ('cuz I have no room to put it in my room), so I have to watch One Piece down there. Well, one time I was watching the ep where Sogeking was trying to get the key from Jyabura without waking him up. I had read the scene in the manga before, so the filler caught me by surprise, especially the part where Sogeking makes his own heart stop beating. I burst out laughing so loud that my parents, who were on the second floor of the house, heard me laughing. XD;
At one point, my dad found one of my clips of Nami's past. If you don't know what's going on it looks like the Arlong pirates are raping her. I had to let him read through all of my english volumes to convince him it wasn't a hentai. (He doesn't know wat that is, but just that sort of thing…)
Another time, I was ranting about the dub and suddenly:
Mom: If he's japanese why is his name Luigi?
Me: What..?
Mom: The stretchy guy.
Me: ... It's Luffy. Luigi is from Nintendo.
Mom: Oh.
I was once watching a One piece episode, the computer was just outside the bedroom where my mom was, I don't remember what the episode number was but Usopp was screaming something and mom suddenly said: Can I shoot the guy with the annoying voice?!?
Me: HEY that's a great voice, he's just screaming >:(
Mom: I still want to shoot him!
My mom's mean D:
My dad thought Gokudera from Katekyo Hitman Reborn was a girl. He says the same thing about almost every male character with long hair, so it doesn't really surprise me.
Another time was when he started to notice my obsession with Pokemon back when I was 10. It's funny how most adults couldn't even pronounce it right. It was always "Pokiman", "Pookimen", or what have you. But he called it "Pocahontas" XD.
When Digimon came out, almost everyone I knew noticed the similarities. But I thought it was weird how even my mom said "This looks like a Pokemon rip-off." when I was watching it.
I remember when I was watching Dragonball my dad was getting annoyed and made fun of it because most of the time the character kept doing those stupid grunts. Those anime grunts. ( Do real people even do that?)
My parents are pretty good with anime. My dad likes OP a lot, we watched the climax of the Arlong Arc together, and he still insists that he is actually pandaman, and that his job and stuff is just a hoax. He told my mom that if she cosplayed, she could be Chim-chim, the monkey from Speed Racer, at which she was quite offended. As if we would let our parents anywhere near a con. shudder
Anyway, while my sister and I were watching Kyou Kara Maou (re-watching all 78 eps! Yes!), part of the subs went up and down on a sign. I was sitting in a large, hard, wooden chair. I tilted my head sharply to read the sign and viciously rammed my head into the top of the chair, at which my sister laughed uncontrollably for minutes. The sad thing is, Yuuri was reading the sign aloud anyway, so there was no need to try to read it. -///-> heh heh…
Also, there was an incident where just I was watching Utawarerumono and my sister came in at a part where Yazuha was talking about bathing with her brother, Oboro. I thought, well, it's not always that weird... It helped that she watches just as much weird crap as me, so we're pretty much immune to stuff like that.
My friend spent the night at my house a while back, and we watched at least 15 to 20 episodes of Ouran High School Host Club. I think she thought we were insane... which we kind of are...
I was watching the Revolutionary Girl Utena series at my college's anime club in an auditorium, because, hey, free anime. There were several other people at the place, too.
Anyway, we're watching the early episodes and we come to the ep where we're introduced to Anthy's little… pet... thing...(?)
The moment that thing showed its face there was a collective, audible gasp from literally EVERYONE in that auditorium (including me) of, "What the hll/fck/heck is that thing!?"
Those exact words (with some variance in the third word, of course) were spoken aloud by each and every one who was there. Seriously.
(Okay, maybe not by the guy who was handling the projector…)
I still can't understand how something composed of only "cute" elements can somehow coalesce into something definitely UN-cute. Heck, Ryuk from Death Note is cuter than that thing.
Mine is when I was watching Samurai Champloo and Mugen had just ended a pretty long string of crusing when my mom walks in and asks "What does that mean?" XD
Another good time was when I had my friend over to watch Green Green and about halfway through the episode he asks if I understood what they were saying, despite the fact that english subtitles were there.
He told my mom that if she cosplayed, she could be Chim-chim, the monkey from Speed Racer, at which she was quite offended.
This gave me a pretty good laugh. XD
And what's wrong with parents being at a con? I would love it if my parents came to a convention with me, so I could show them how hard it is to actually run a convention dealer room. My mom has always been supportive when it comes to things that interest me. Hell, she has even helped me with cosplay before. ^^
To keep on topic: Every time I used to watch anime in the living room, my father would walk by and start doing this really crappy whiteguy imitation of the Chinese language. I was embarrassed for him. -_-'

Well, my parents are kind of crazy, and sometimes my mom just stares at people, or makes fun of them to their face. And so I don't really want to think about what she might do if she saw crossplayers or people carrying those scary dolls or yaoi paddles. My dad talks to everyone. And I mean everyone. They have driven us to cons before, and helped with the financial side of cosplay, but they are mostly inept with interactions with other people. Plus, they totally freaked when I brought home my Vash the Stampede bag from Acen (because he had his revolver.) I guess they think anime is about killing people now? Who knows…
And yes, my father also does horrible impersonations of Japanese when he comes in and we are watching anime, though he usually breaks into some "kung fu" moves while he's at it. XD
The "Your mom's cool" line from the Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children dub. That was horrible.
