Any alternate reality mangas?

I was thinking about American comics and wondered if they were any mangas that had alternate universe? Like same characters with a different story.

And if not what mangas would you like to see with an alternate reality? Or an expanded universe.

I would like to see ones of Flame of Recca. Maybe a manga series about how it was when the Hokage ninjas were in old japan. I would like to see one about Naruto as well. Maybe him being a better main character or have somebody just focus on the mist village or a future/past manga about that "world".

I know many American comics due things like this. I think it would be kind of cool if manga did this.

I see. I think it could work.

Like batman have many different versions. And alot of them are succesful. Some have bombed of couse. Same with spiderman and other comic hero's.

What does RE stand for? Resident Evil?

I know they are doing one for Battle Royale but this is more of a sequel not an alternate universe.

well the Batman stuff is all on the same timeline so that'd be kinda like JJBA

You mean AU within one manga or just a manga that shows an alternate world? If the second one, there is an NGE manga that does show a diferent universe…but it's not that good (the manga I mean).

About different stories within the same world, I guess that's what Clamp is doing all the time...X, Tokyo Babylon, I think those School Detective whatever characters also appear in X and another manga...
And of course, back to the alternate reality, there is Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicle....

And of course we have that One Piece Edo TV Special thing.^^

If you mean stuff like What If? or Elseworlds-type stuff, then I'll have to second Carter with Steel Ball Run (alternate reality version of JoJo's Bizarre Adventure) Otherwise, I can't think of anything.

Cardcaptor Sakura has one called Tsubasa.

Mai-Otome is an alternate universe of Mai-HiME. If you want AU than read fanfics. You'll get lots of that(though I can't be held responsible for what you may find >_>).

Yeah, this is probably the best example of a 'What If… ?" universe. Tsubasa is not exactly 'interesting', though.
