Yes, there will be a movie 8, it was announced already. It will be released in March, just like all the rest, but no news about it is available yet, it's too early. I think in the next few months Toei will launch a website. I think it's usually around October or so that more info comes out.

Movie 7 just came out, not 6 months ago.
I'd speculate the movie coming out March (like Cosmic suggested), and maybe have the new Mugiwara's (if there are any, that is).

Well they have probably already started working on movie 8 if just in small departments. Think its safe to say if new crew members do join they wont be in movie 8. Movie 9 without a doubt tho.

Hmm I remember saying something in one of the movie discussion threads aboot the possibility of the next One Piece movie. Mainly that it should be better then movie two or six. Still Franky would have to be in the movie because of the current arc and the known fact that this current arc won't last until march.

Hey. I say that the next crewmember has a great chance of being in the 8th movie. Cant Toei just ASK Oda who is going to join? This arc cant last until March, so there will definetly be time for people to get used to the crewmember by the time the movie can come out. And hopefully its Franky.

Add to the fact that by the time the movie actually comes out, we'll be well underway into the next arc (or 2, if Oda makes the following arc somewhat short, ala Buggy/Kuro/Loguetown), so Franky being in it is a good possibility.

I remember reading somewhere, I believe JUMP or Wizard, an article on the Movie 7 and Movie 8's plot being tossed around. Something about a chain of islands on the Grand Line, that hold annual pirate contest's and such. Basicly like Foxy Pirates and Movie 6's stuff, except moreso. The idea was derived from the love for the Movie Intro minimovies, like Pirate Soccer King.
Will have to look up the article again, if it's not on Wiki or somewhere of that sort.

Most likely the new Mugiwara (whose name is FRANKY) will not appear in Movie eight. I cannot imagine Toei reaching our current point in the manga over a period of seven months with their habit of delays.

Yes, but you guys have to realize something. This movie isn't gonna be all at once around march. Its gonna start being worked on very early, probably right now. Animated films take longer than you think.
And Oda would no way tell anyone something as import as "is so or so joining?" before actually confirming it.

Not necessarily - Toei has to ask Oda about whether or not they can "invent" a Devil Fruit if he plans on using it later on. Like, for example, while they were making the G8 arc they might've said "dude, let's give Jonathan a Giraffe Devil Fruit!" and Oda was all "No, I'm doing the Giraffe thing later".
Also, the "Free Will" ending with Robin had shots of her lonely and sad childhood (as did the "Bon Voyage" opening). Wouldn't that suggest Oda at least said she had an unhappy childhood? He didn't necessarily have to say "yeah, her entire island was obliterated by this thing called a Buster Call" but he could have easily said "Robin's childhood was very sad and she spent much of it alone".
EDIT: Then again, Movie 3 takes place in an impossible timeline. . .

I'm curious where you heard that thing about the giraffe devil fruit.
You're using facts on me which really aren't supporting this. Past and devil fruits are not people joining and gonna be around for a long time.

QFT. I just use Jonathan whenever I make that arguement because he's probably a more likable example than Apis or the kid from the Ocean's Dream arc, although Apis probably represents a Devil Fruit Oda didn't plan on using (though Chopper kind of emulates Apis' Devil Fruit since he talks to other animals). Hence, fillers aren't a terrible predictor of Devil Fruits because it shows us what Oda doesn't plan on using. I would, however, LOVE to see a list of Devil Fruits Oda DID NOT let Toei play with and then try and figure out what someone might do with that fruit.
But it might only apply to the Devil Fruits - Oda addressed SPECIFICALLY Devil Fruits in an SBS as far as Toei goes, but Toei has created a couple of other plotholes in the filler episodes, like Zoro cutting steel before Arabasta and Chopper using multiple Rumble Balls in the DBF.
