Custom ring tones on telus

Ok, I have a Telus phone. An LG3200 pay and talk phone to be precise.
I had to get a cell phone in a hurry last year, so I didn't think at the time about custom ring tones. This is something I really want. According to Telus, I can't put my own ring tones on it. I can only download/buy from them. No anime tunes, and the only videogame theme is SMB. Wooptie doo.

I was told the other day by the boss's kid, I can get by this. His friend did. So my question is, how do I do this. Do I just get a USB cable, and transfer MIDI files to my cell phone? Anyone know what I'm talking about?

I want to use my midi files as ring tones. Say, Gemini Man from Megaman 3. That would be a cool ring tone.

use, my midi files? Ya, they're on my hard drive. :) I know, I'd need a USB cable for my phone first, but I want to know if it is POSSIBLE with my phone to do custom ring tones before I buy one. And if it IS possible, then, HOW.

so u want to MAKE THE TONES with your phone? If yes, then i believe that this is impossible…but u never know...

sigh, I thought i explained it well enough….I HAVE MIDI FILES!
HAVE HAVE. I don't need to make anything.
are MIDI files capable of being ring tones or are they useless to a cell phone?
IF I buy a USB cable will it work if I UPLOAD my MIDI files from my hard drive, to my phone?

captain usopp, it really depends on the phone, your best bet would be to look at websites that are specifically geared towards cracking your model of phone. If the company says no and your boss's kid says yes, then chances are he isn't using any conventional way.

Every single phone is different in how they work as far as ringtones go, uploading them, using them etc.

Ok, finally got my question answered. I went to another telus store, where they are obviosly smarter.

I have 2 options. there is an option for me to record voice memos on my cell. I can use that to record music, and then use the voice memo as a ring tone. I'm not confident this is going to be good quality, but it's the easier of the 2.

The other, and this was what I was wondering about. I need a USB cable. Now, MIDI files won't work as ring tones, so I have to download special software to change the files so my cell phone can use them. AFter that, I just transfer them with the USB cable.

I leave these findings for anyone else who might make use of them. thanks for your help guys.

You should be able to do with with a USB cable that has the right connection to your phone. But you might need some sort of software. I discovered that I could plug my digital camera cable into my phone, but then once I did that, I don't know how I'm supposed to transfer the information. :/
