How does one go about making an mp3 from an .avi? I've come up against the wall of "not knowing where to even start looking for information."
Separate audio from video?

Other people probably have better methods, but I like to use goldwave to tinker with audio stuff. I open the avi file with it and the sound waves and stuff appear on the screen.
I do this whenever I wanted to clip something from an episode but virtualdub tells me I have to extract the wav from it and re-encode.
And I also used it to get the second Gash Bell opening since I absolutely couldn't find it on google

Fantastic! Goldwave is it! Thanks a lot.
