Me too and in the Balancing. The Changes from J Stars to + in Terms of Balancing were not that big. But I assume they got the Critic and work on it, the Gameplay look so far very fun.
I knew you'd show up in this thread sooner or later where have you been Kiera, they'll probably announce the next Musou after this game is out

Yeah you know me >I buy every One Piece Game so I show up in every Thread. Must say I was long not here, wil lchange that from now on^^
I hope so too, that the next Musou Game is next but think 2018 and we will see another Handheld Game first. Well I would love to see a new Romance Dawn in way better but i'm also very excited for PW 4 and Gear 4 on it and so on. This Game will be fun but I prefer personaly the Musou Games since I'm a huge Musou Fan

I'm just not a fan of 3d fighters. It doesn't help that it's like J Stars. I hope the game sells well and all, and I hope you guys enjoy it, but it doesn't seem like it's for me.
Although, I will say that if there's a nice amount of single player content then I may get it down the road.

In support of the series period I'm going to get it, but I agree for the most part. I honestly would have preferred a Storm clone (assuming that this game is J-Stars without the 4 player mode).
We had worse though, Fighting for One Piece is something I honestly regret even knowing about.
-
A Storm clone would have been worse. It's just the same one-button mashing game repackaged in every new installment. Outside of visual presentation and spectacle, it's just a mediocre arena brawler that seems to throw in new gimmicks with every new game.
Does every anime fighting game have to just copy Ultimate Ninja Storm? Does no one want diverse fighting games in the niche circle of anime-licensed titles?
-

I don't think so in spite of the various pleas for games similar to Grand Battle or Ultimate Ninja Storm.
-
Ich wish they would bring Super Grand Battle X to us, it was fun. In Terms of Story for Burning Blood please no Dark Clones like in J Stars, I don't thnink you will follow the Manga Storie and its a Original one.
-
According to Aleh/AngryStormGamer, his friend mentioned that the story would start at Luffy meeting Zoro and fighting Morgan.
Doubt it will cover every arc. It'll probably skip arcs like PW1.

Exactly what i think. Storm was good with such a big roster and nice boss fights but other than that the game was boring. Only 3 combos is an insult for a game.
Storm was okay but i don't want BB or any game to be like it. A 3D Fighter is supposed to have a lot of combos.
So if BB is going to be some clone that it should copy BT3. Combo- and characterwise best game.β- Update From New Post Merge ---
The only thing that is missing is the complete character list and the storymode.
Will it be like BT3 where you just fight your enemies or like Storm with boss battles? -

I think they'll probably release the next Musou maybe close to October next yearβ¦.such a long time from now[emoji24]

Oh more of a street fighter , Guilty Gear player eh, since you mentioned some single player gameplay are you hoping for something similar to budokai 3 adventure mode ? (I doubt it will have as much free roam though)

Yes! I think Budokai 3 was the last Dragonball game I played now that I think about it lol. I would love an adventure mode.

And the fighting mechanics were really good, a lot of combos, attack cancels, Hight/Low attacks Ultras, & Supers nothing like Budokai 3 instant classic, if we get something like that from One Piece I'm happy I can see this game giving us that similar feeling.

Storm games are a lot deeper than you think especially compared to J-Stars and a lot of other 3D "Action" fighters. I think people who are quick to call it a button mashing game haven't bothered to dig for the things like ninja move canceling and all the other advanced methods that the community found within the game.
The thing with J-Stars is that a lot of the advanced techs they created are hardly practical online especially when while you're trying to pull them off you'd only get blasted by another player's kamehameha or other ranged attacks.
I don't think you were listening to me I said I would rather have a Storm clone than anything related to J-Stars if we're going to have a 3D fighter. If you don't like Naruto fair enough but I'd assume you'd at least look into what makes a Storm game a little bit above of the other recent 3D action fighters.
Here are a few examples and yes these work and are practical online:
Edit: By no means am I saying that this game is hardcore or considered a legit fighter, but it definitely has a surprise layer of depth to it that really beats the argument of "button mashing" to death.

Budokai 3 is my favorite DBZ Game, I love it and the Storymode was awesome.

This is interesting cause a few years ago I got into an argument with someone to allow Ultimate Ninja storm for a tournament for Anime North in Canada, We went back and forth for awhile in the end he won the debate, since according to him there is not much uniqueness to characters except there small cut scene when doing a combo and the tools you start with at the beginning of a match, we also tested online different people choosing sasori , itachi(Sasunoo) and other characters were too ' BROKEN' there was no fairness in the game either was his rebuttal.

During Generations there were plenty of broken characters most of the issues have been fixed since then (and even greatly knocked them down a few tiers as a result)
I'd argue that presenting the PS2 Naruto games would be more fit for tournaments because there's a lot more techs and cancels you can work with. Storm can hold it's own only if everyone knew the fundamentals of the moves discovered by the community. If it was just for casual play then yeah I can't see it in a tournament.

I already know that Storm has some hidden depth to its combat. But the majority of players who pick up these games aren't going to look up and practice these advanced combos.
Online matches have and continue to prove this. The community of dedicated players who spend hours and days perfecting this moves are dwarfed by the spammers who just want an easy win. J-Stars has the same problem, but it ridiculously more rampant in the Storm community.
A lot of these combos you showed also tend to fail if you can't manage to pull of the stun first. -
Man Budokai 3 was great

A lot of these combos you showed also tend to fail if you can't manage to pull of the stun first. The majority who don't pick up these combos are the one's that tend to not get anywhere in ranking. During Generations period I'd 100% agree with you with Kimmi, PTS Kankuro and Masked Man being very high in tier rank hell even as far back as Storm 2 where it didn't matter if you knew how to play at that point.
I played J-Stars and Naruto pretty often and I can easily say J-Stars is much worse off so I disagree with you there. The Bobobo's, Saki's, Vegetas etc. Even ignoring the characters J-Stars best fits the description of what you said about naruto.

You know those are two out of the countless videos online? There are combos that don't require the stun that are called Ninja Move Cancels that are unblockable and can only be escaped if the sub bar fills up. I've seen some cancels that hit up to 40% without the stun item.
You might as well just come out and say you don't play Storm often enough to be aware of this stuff because the stuff you're telling me was valid criticism for the previous entries that came out years ago.

I haven't played a Storm game online since 3. Maybe it's not as bad now like it was with Kankuro, Kiba, and Madara being annoying to fight against online.

I agree. The broken characters mixed with the 2v2 combat just made for a disastrous experience if your teammate wasn't competent.

I haven't bothered to play Storm competitively since 3. I still haven't even completed Revolution.
Back to BB, I have a feeling that Spike (Chunsoft) is trying to turn Burning Blood into its own thing, with some good aspects from J-Stars improved upon and some other fighting game aspects thrown in as well. I've seen this game compared to not only J-Stars, but Zenkai Battle Royal and Tenkaichi 3.
While it's not a fighting game, I remember criticism for Xenoverse's alpha build where it was compared to Battle of Z, but when the final build of the game dropped, those criticisms were shut down.
J-Stars was never meant to really be competitive no matter how hard the community tried to make it work, but the direction that Chunsoft and the creators of Tenkaichi and Raging Blast seem to be leaning towards is a more skilled, tactical based 3D arena fighter.
-
Yes. It will begin at Romance Dawn with Zoro being recruited and fighting Morgan according AngryStormGamer

Story Mode. Who needs that sort of crap anyway?

Ahh okay this is starting to make a lot more sense now. Revolution is very boring and stale they made some good changes but ultimately the separation of how the supports work was what broke the game for me and how they weakened the ultimate jutsus.
I think BB overall is visually a step up from J-Stars. By visually I don't mean graphics I mean at first glance. Hopefully it brings in some techs from Tenkaichi 3 and such.

What time are you speaking of?
AngryStormGamer has posted a new Video about a new Interview with the producers:
-
Budokai 3 was a neat game but I preferred Infinite World/Shin Budokai 2.
So Morgan has been confirmed (?) to be in the story mode? Interesting.

This game looks sick, actually, I just hope Bellamy makes it in. I already got Fujitora and Sanji so I just need one more for my team t be complete.
-

Well I'm glad those days are over.
Watched the interview. I really hope the 3 vs 3 simultaneous battle royale mode becomes a reality. I don't care if it's unbalanced it'll be fun as hell.
At least I hope they were insinuating a 3 vs 3, because a 1 vs 3 mode would be shitty.

Well considering this is the same group that made J-stars victory vs I don't see why they couldn't implement that, though yes, it would be very unbalanced haha. Btw, here are some actual matches from the game in English, it's looking great.
@Jojolion:Standards change. Back in the old days games in general had story modes.
True, not to start a elitist argument war here but in fighting games the base modes is what the hardcore fans can dive into for years and be satisfied, some not even touching story unless it is to unlock a character. But for casual and fans of the series like myself and most people who will bother with this game, a story mode, even a made up one like the Unlimited World series would be welcome. I would even prefer a Grand Battle kinda deal where each character's arcade mode was their own story. I'm not saying that I wont buy the game due to lack of story mode, hell, I doubt I'll even do more than one playthrough of it, but the idea that all fighting games don't ever need a story is kinda silly. Some single player content extends the game, a casuals are going to be a majority of this game's buyers. Then again people have been starving for a One Piece fighting game for years, and the game looks awesome so even without story I'm sure it will sell well.
-
I wish there was something there to spice up the gameplay. It looks like the players are always going to be on top of each other. I do like how big the arenas are and the destructible environments I don't know if that will really matter everybody is just on top of each other punching each other. I would love to see one piece grand battle 4.
-
The running animations need some major improvements. Also a sprinting/dashing/quick way to close the distance between you and your opponent mechanic would be nice.

Yeah some stage hazards or something would be nice. They do have assist breaks for when an opponent is pummeling you to help you get away. And yeah the running animations are a bit weird, I hope there is a dash mechanic. Still, the characters look awesome, th speed is pretty nice, maybe it should be a tad faster. I love the little details like battle damage and winning with powerful moves knocks you opponent out of the ring.

Yeah I did it too, damn Thumbnails on my Side xD
So I need also a Story Mode. I like them and J Stars was not very good but it kept me playing it and try diffrent Chracters. I had something to do. Only VS would be boring andf I would put the Game quicker aside. I'm glad the Standard changed. THe new TV Commercial is cool, can't wait to import it
I hope also they improve running and sprinting, it was one of the worst Things in J Stars imo.
-
Yeah.
The stage damage is exactly like in J Stars.
I do love to see BB having a nice storymode but BT3 probably the best anime game ever didn't have a real storymode. You just fought all the villains and that was it.
And it still was awesome. So if BB has a really huge roster and a good variety of combos then it could be a great game despite not having a decent Storymode.
And when it gets all three major points it could become better than BT3
I hope so.One Piece needs that. Dragonball has his BT series Naruto his Storm series and One Piece needs BΔningu Buraddo!!!
-
I hope this will be getting into a Series too. I as a Musou Fan prefers Pirate Warriors but there is nothing wrong to keep both Series and make an UNlimited Game from Time to Time^^

Thanks for that. I din't understand a word but Gameplay looks great. Such an amount of Detail for the Characters.

Can anybody translate what he is saying?
And did i see Crocodile sweating? Or was he just wet?
-
Me if you want i'm French
But sorry my English is not very good.
So first he said that we will have at least 50 characters playable. He said that the gameplay is good but is kind of difficult when you play for the firt time. He said that every characters has 3 spΓ©cial attack and one utimate attack but it's very difficult to succeed it. They said that we will have shortly more informations aboute the story mode.
-
Here is a rough translations of some points:
-Developers chose 3 vs 3 in order to balance the capacity of haki users, devil fruits users and the rest.
-R1+? does a different thing for each character. It uses the jauge on top of the screen. For instance Ace can teleport with R1+X.
-Each character has 3 special attacks that use the jauge down the screen.
-He heard "50 playable characters" but he doesn't give any source -
np and same. Looks sooo much better than the J star quick dashing
Yep so much better but Controls overal look a bit similar.
