Hello there, my old photography thread was a bit of a flop, so I decided to start fresh. I hope you enjoy the photos! :happy:

I think your photos are really great! Do you use a macro lens for the flower shots?

Thank you very much! To be honest, I just have the setting on "easy" 99.9% of the time, and focus the lens by holding my hand out in front of it; that gets the job done. I'm not a professional by any means ^^;

Most digital cameras these days have a macro setting that you can use. Are there any buttons on the outside of the camera that have a flower symbol? Something like this:
If you've got it, give it a try when you're doing your next super close up. At this setting, you can focus on things that are extremely close, while greatly reducing the "depth of field", making the photographed object look larger than life (you quickly lose focus on things that are far from your focal depth).
I'm no expert, either, but I did take a photography class in college that I thought was kind of fun.
Ah, this was my tenth year going to Fairport Canal Days, the festival in the village that takes place every first full weekend of June. Sunny day, camera close by, so much to see, how could I not take pictures?
Beautiful, sunny morning

I went over an hour early to take some photos without the crowd, so all the vendors were still setting up their stands.

Hi there! To those who actually view this thread on a regular basis, I didn't update over the weekend, so now I'm going to make up for lost time. This will probably take a couple of posts… ^^;

Wow, you've really got a knack for those colorful close up shots! Those leaves in your last post were really beautiful, and the flowers look great as always. I also really love the way you frame your shots, some of the lighthouse museum ones were taken from really interesting angles.
Keep it up, Epoida!
Any updates from the Summer?
Whew, has it really been over two months since I've last updated? How time flies… This summer has brought me the good, the bad, and the ugly, but hasn't completely kept me from taking photographs! It's probably going to take a few posts to make up for all the lost time, but that's alright. :)
Let's start with the garden nursery pictures. I took these on June 22; a fine, sunny day. You all can probably tell by now that I love flowers!

Well, this is enough for one day, but please stay tuned for more over the next few days or so; there's plenty more to come. Thanks for looking! :happy:
Love the Gerbera daisies and the lotus/frog shots! Keep them comin'~
Oh dear, I've been wanting to post pictures here more often, but for some reason, Imgur has been taking forever to load, if it ever does at all. I may have to try another image hosting site, which is kind of a bummer but not the end of the world. Thanks to all for checking out my photography, and thank you benjamminbrown for your nice compliments. Like I've said before, please stay tuned!
