Day 29: I watched it as a kid in the spanish version and it got me instantly. They were airing the Alabasta arc and it was great to wake up early on a saturday just to see the new chapter. Time passed and i forgot about it for like 8 years until I read a tweet which said something about spending the summer watching one piece and i was like one piece? wow i want to know how has it ended. That was when I realised that it was still going and it was magical.

I kept seeing the manga in the Top Ten lists on manga sites, and seeing how I was into Bleach and Naruto at the time, it was impossible not to hear about the "black sheep of the trio". I tried it, came to Usopp's arc and gave up sometime after it due to the art style. Some time later I decided to give it another try, but it failed about the same place. But something about the series kept interesting me, people kept talking about how sad and genius it was, and the openings to the anime were splendid. So I gave it a final try, caught up at the marineford arc and now its my favorite everything.
Day 30: Why do you love One Piece? There's something about it that makes me very, very happy. The story is grand, intriguing, and solid enough for you to form big and complex theories and actually have a shot at them being correct. The absolutely amazing world building, the unique and quirky characters, the relatively low fan service compared to other manga, how colorful it is, the art… everything. Absolutely everything.
