At least they should let us to select characters by pointing at them. Besides traditional Smash Brothers controls works just perfectly fine with Wii's controller so I don't really get the fuss people are making about it. I seriously don't get it. At all.

Yea I understand what you mean now. The new Super Smash Bros Brawl game will not use the "normal" Wii-mote controllers. Maybe the classic controller will be usable on the game.

I don't see the problem with using the gamecube controller for some games.

Nah, we all have dvd players or laptops, which makes me wonder why the Nintendo Wii will even have internet exploring features besides for downloadable items.

I don't think really want to use the classic controller for the Wii…. What I think was said that they won't use the Wii controller in the normal fashion usually used in Wii games (motionsensing + pointing). It's very much possible that you'll be able to use the normal Wii mote + nunchuck for the game. Jumping can be done using the analog stick. X and y and up were jumping anyway on the gamecube controllers.

because if it's still the nunchuck, I don't see how playing smash brawl could possibly be "perfectly fine" with the new wii nunchuck, unless of course you don't know how to play the game (smash brawl) and only button mash o.o

if you are or know or have seen avid players of Smash Melee, you'll understand where I'm coming from, if you aren't, then know that Smash isn't just a button mash and requires a ridiculous amount of control on each button along with the joystick.

I have no questions about the controller or how it works, I know how it works, which is why I'm pretty sure it won't work well with Brawl, but hey, if Nintendo proves me wrong, awesome.

I just heard about the DVD player being inserted a year from now. Biggest mistake I've heard this whole month.

Does anyone know what the launch titles will be?

According to Attack of the Show, 71% of the people who took a poll said that the Wii has the better games.

I wouldn't say it's a mistake. I'd just say it's more of a gimmick to attract those idiots who say that without DVD playback it's inferior to the other systems.

It has already been made official that Smash Bros. Brawl will not use the Remote/Nunchuck. it will be played with Gamecube controllers.

D Down for jump
D Up for taunt

Wii's controller is pretty much like heavily expanded N64's controller (without prefixed hand positions). And the game worked perfectly fine with N64 controller so…

I think the main gripe was with it using motion sensing. Or, if it wasn't, that would be my main gripe.

I'm going out on Friday to try to buy Marvel Ultimate Alliance (I got a call saying my copy was in) and Metal Slug Anthology. I'm doing this so when I go to Walmart I can buy my Wii and get the fuck out, instead of going through the additional hassle of trying to buy games in this presumed madhouse.

LOL. Gamespot just said in their podcast that they didn't think the game would actually make launch since they didn't recieve it for review.

Speaking of Gamespot, they have a review of Excite Truck up. They gave it a 6.8, but I don't think people expected that game to be that good anyway. For comparison's sake, the first ps3 game they reviewed(Genji 2) got a 6.4 .

Well, you see, it's been said that Composite cables (the red, yellow, white cables you plug to the tv) on the wii look fugly on lcd's and what not. Component is the better cable to use for those graphic whores.

Ok, how are people getting their preorders before the release date? I asked my local Gamestop about getting my copy of Twilight Princess on Saturday and they said, "Gamestop or EB Games can not release any preorder before November 19th, 2006 or else they could face a lawsuit by Nintendo."

Then Wal-Mart said that they can only release third party hardware and software before the 19th, everything else had to wait.

So what is going on here?

I'm going to get Zelda this Friday as well. I have no pre-ordered copy for the system, but I'm going to try to get it when it comes out. Eh, I can accept fate if I have to wait a while before I get it.

I want to get Marvel Ultimate Alliance, simply because of the new characters. Smash Brothers Brawl is also the list for the future, of course. Still hoping for a Tetris stage.

Personally, I would choose Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz. From what I can tell, the single player is nothing special, but most of the game's 50 multiplayer minigames are awesome.

Hmm, 22 days for the UK and Europe lanuch, woo! I know i'm gonna get one coz I work at one of the places that sell them over here. I've already got the console and 2 games (Wii play wth extra controller and TP) but I might decide to buy extra accessories instead of getting an extra game.

This could be done with the controller scheme I posted. If the game will have wavedashing, that is (let's hope so). Besides that is not so easy to do with Cube's controller either, you know. After years of playing at least I was still able to screw up pretty badly with fancy combos like that. But perhaps I just suck.

I hate to say it but, NO STORE IS SELLING ZELDA TWILIGHT PRINCESS BEFORE SUNDAY!

I have asked every store that sells video games if they are allowed to sell any Nintendo Wii items before the 19th and they all said no.

If you guys do purchase the game before the 19th upload a picture to prove it and I will admit that I went overboard on the whole release issue.

Played the Wii today at GameCrazy. Pretty awesome stuff. The controller is small, but large enough for a comfortable fit. Me and one of my roommates played Excite Truck. The controls take about a second to get used to them, but after that it's pretty smooth sailing. VERY fun.

I played Excite Truck today too. I have to say, it was one of the better times I've had playing a video game.

I think I'll get Zelda, Excite Truck and Madden at release now. Excite Truck was just a load of fun.

And my Best Buy is getting 50-100 Wiis, so I'll definately get one :)

I was watching On the Spot yesterday and they were playing Trauma Center. That games looks like a ton of fun, plus Greg Kasavin said the game's story is "the best kind of anime melodrama".
