They already have complete season sets for DBZ.

The seasons are broken down into smaller chunks of specific plot points in each arc. If they were to be condensed into even larger arc-sized sets as is being proposed for OP, they would probably consist of Raditz through the end of Namek, Garlic Jr. to the end of the Cell Games, and Saiyaman to the end of the series. Even if you'd split the Saiyan saga from Freeza proper, you'd still be left with Cell and Buu as being clearly connected arcs worthy of collections.

So, that'd be about 100 eps per set give or take, and about 16 disks each give or take. OP's season 2 is 14 disks, so that's close to what would be expected of DBZ before anything else. If even that is too unwieldy for Funi to expect of DBZ, the money-making machine, to currently handle, it's too much for them to expect of OP.

What I think would be cool about the arc sets is that some sets would be 5 episodes, and other sets would be 90.

I saw that episode last night. My girlfriend was like 'That doesn't sound like One Piece.' What do you guys think? Uncharacteristic, even of Sanji. Granted, he normally doesnt take things that far. My excuse to my girlfriend was that One Piece does use cursing, blood, and fanservice, so it isn't so far fetched. A bit weird to hear though.

Sanji asking for a lap dance isn't too farfetched when you consider he had asked if they could buy a hot, slave girl during the human auction (in the manga). I think that may have gone too far…hell, they cut that out of the anime!

Season 4, Part 2 is officialy out today, and just got my copy started watching it. The finale of the Davy Back Fights was great. I got a great laugh from dub Foxy during his deguise thing during his fight against Luffy.

I finished the set this morning. I will say I really like the voices for Aokiji, Koroko, and Chimeny. Both Aokiji and Koroko english voices made me laugh really hard.

Just watched the voyage three trailer again. SO EXCITED. If I could go to sleep until the date it ends up on my doorstep, I would.

I also just rewatched the trailer and wow sonnys voice acting sounds great. The two lines that really struck me were "Don't give up on the Merry!" and "I'm not leaving her here I don't care what you say". I wonder just how many times they had to record that epic emitional fight sequence. I remember on the podcast when Mike said he kept making sonny put more and more emotion into his voice, and it seems to have payed off rather well can't wait for the set to arrive now!

I'm hoping down the line they'll use different music the tone of the episodes on each respective DVD. The atmosphere of certain upcoming episodes gets darker so I'd like to see some new music reflecting that.

No, no. My girlfriend was complaining about it. Thought that was a funny statement. I just watched the first Aokiji episode. Saving the second for next week. Already watched the Water 7 episode.

I really like watching two episodes a week. I'd highly recommend it. Especially when they're episodes that you don't really care about. I could never ration Water 7 or Enies Lobbies. Next time I do this will probably be the Ice Hunter Arc, if not Post-Enies.

Does anyone else notice that Luffy's voice doesn't sound nearly as raspy in these episodes? There's barely any rasp to it at all... :[ I miss it.

Yeah, haha. Especially since I'm watching Season 2 episodes now, and I found that early-to-mid Season 2's Luffy had the most raspiness.

I had a feeling this kinda thing would happen with Colleen's Luffy in Season 4, just like how we had things like her voice for him getting progressively deeper since Season 3.

I'm hoping a bit of the rasp comes back before the Water 7 arc really starts, but it doesn't sound like it will…

I kinda have a weird love-hate thing for the rasp myself at times. Most of the time I love the rasp, because I started with the dub and to me that's what Luffy in English is supposed to sound like, but other times I catch myself wishing it was toned down a bit to sorta match the Japanese voice a little more, as Japanese Luffy doesn't really get into raspy territory unless he's really angry. But then when it's gone I'm like "hey wait I kinda miss the raspiness Colleen what're u doin D:?" It's like my ears can't decide what they want.

Okay so I started this set in hopes for another quaint little filler arc after Foxy's ridiculously dragged out ending. I was horribly mistaken,

! everyone losing their memories? Luffy getting a scar just like timeskip? Ace coming out of nowhere to haunt me from the future? What an awful set of filler episodes that I would like my time back for

No, The DBF in the Manga was only about half as long, as the SHs and the Foxy Pirates only played one Davy Back Fight.

The events that happened were the Donut Race, the Groggy Ring, and the Combat round. the other 3 events in the anime were anime-only. The Differences in the normal 3 Are:

Donut Race: Extra racers were added, in the Manga it was just the Barrel Tiger (Usopp, Nami, Robin) and the Cutey Wagon (Porche's boat) That's why all the other racers were eliminated by the end.
Groggy Ring: Luffy didn't win the horse back, he didn't have to win the horse back. that was never an issue. He won Chopper back.
Combat: They entered it with all their crewmates. Foxy didn't have Robin OR Chopper. He had to fight for his crew because if Foxy won, he'd be able to take someone (most likely Chopper) without giving Luffy any chance to take his crewmate back. Therefore, none of the Shenanigans about betting 500 Crew members was necessary.

Instead, It looked like they might steal a Shipwright from Foxy, and in fact, Sanji wanted a female Shipwright, but Luffy just took the flag and redrew Foxy's.

The bit about Tonjit's grandson digging a hole and coming back to save him was also added. The Aokiji fight happens on Long Ring Long Land in the manga, and he actually makes an ice Bridge for Tonjit for him to get back to his tribe.
