It's true that air usually insulates electricity.
HOWEVER…
The strong electrostatic forces of lightning ionizes the air providing a pathway for lightning to travel. Oh and for the record, ionizes means separates the electrons from the air molecules. That's the lamest way I can explain it. I'm assuming the same can happen with Enel.

If the followed closer to the storyline, and had separate filler archs, instead of mixing them into cannon then we would have better animation, a better series,

Here's some One Piece negativity for you: One Piece has so few negative points to discuss that people discussing them have to resort to being negative about each other.
Well I don't like monotonous style of giants and background people(especially anime ones).Giants are either muscular or fat with ridiculously small and skinny legs(still Oz was cool).Backgrounds have almost identifical faces.Its like Oda have only two models of giants and is running out of patterns for normal(not huge,muscular or…well blemish and defective) people.

Actually the anime has been sucking ever since Enis Lobby drew to a close.. IMO
When I actually watch the new episodes, it takes me about 5 minutes to scroll through them
It feels like the show's director died at the end of Enis Lobby.

Inuyasha started dragging its feet after a while. And a lot of people stopped watching DBZ (I should stop this sentence here) after the Majin Boo thing.
One Piece, although it has lasted a long time, still has a lot going for it. We still have awesome new characters arc-after-arc. We still have villians that everyone has been a fan of over the years. This series isn't a "hero meets badguy, hero kills baduy, move on". It's a "heroes meet bad guy, heroes meet weird people, heroes beat up bad guy, bad guy goes on his own mini-adventure, possible joining of a person to the crew". In fact, if we look at the arcs, there aren't really THAT much.

They need to cut the Gold Roger opening part. Its about a minute that we don't need in any of the episdoes. Hell, gold Roger doesn't even get mentioned that much anymore. The intro are long too. I love them as much as the next person but its just too long.
