Hm. Well. I love fashion, but I don't run into too many anime/manga fans that seem to all that much. I was just wondering if there was anyone out there that did as well? I started liking anime and manga when sailor moon was on TV in the USA (oh goodness… over 20 years ago? More? Yikes!) and there weren't too many girls that even liked anime at all. Times have changed though, and I see more girls at cons and whatnot who are a bit fashionable. What do you think?
Any fashionistas out there?

idk if I would consider myself a fashionista, but I am really into men's fashion and try to always look my best for work, going out, different events, etc. I try to have the essential items and invest in good pieces. I'm on a kick craze right now. I recently brought a pair of Nike mid vintage 77 blazers, which I absolutely love, and am eyeing some Japan midnight navy jordan 1s (would be my 2nd pair of Jordans ever, and most def. not my last). I spend a LOT on clothes, but I am trying to cut down on buying cheaper pieces that won't last as long as more expensive and durable ones. For that, I am learning where to buy and where not to buy, and slowly avoiding fast-fashion brands (ASOS, topman, zara, etc)
I just started Jujutsu Kaisen and I loved the ending with the 4 main characters drippin in style.

Yeah, I don't know much about fashion, but I try to look nice. Can't really afford much clothing to be honest, but trying my best to do so. I recently got this awesome overcoat from my friend's mom, it's actually pretty nice, and I think it go well once I get some formal professional clothing.
I'm still learning to be honest. Like I should be wear heels/flats with dresses/skirts, though not sure what else I can wear with them. I tend to wear sneakers a lot with these things, which ruins the whole outfit. ><
What other types of shoes can you wear with a dress or skirt and still be able to walk long distances?

I'm that tomboy that only wears pants (except the occasional skirt for formal wear) and finds makeup a pain in the ass, but my girly side is there in my love for jewelry and shoes. Especially earrings. Oh I love earrings. Heels actually make me feel more confident. But if the heels are hurting you, it's fine to wear sandals or flats with skirts, nothing says you have to wear heels.

I love the idea of this thread, i follow the fashion world casually, as it is its own expression of art. But I don't know any names. Personally I always dress in a very subdued manner, but conceptually I love fashion. I get a lot of French and Korean fashion, but what is getting my attention a lot at the moment is fashion from marginalised voices.
This for example:

Japanese fashion is beginning to make its appearance in modern countries.
It's not a bad thing that Manga fans like us can put clothes related to our passion !

What about low top white sneakers, those tend to go well with a looot of options, even business casual.
If you can't afford much, thrift shopping is a great option. Also, I realize this may be supporting shitty industry standards but I believe there are a few fast-fashion sites which are relatively "clean" in that regard (no sweat shops, ecological, etc). ASOS has a lot of things, from their own brands to some third party things, and price range is higher than H&M but lower than say Topshop or topman.
They also have the differed payment options; although you can pretty much do that with any store that offers Paypal since paypal has the pay in four option now (it divides the total payment in four biweekly payments; good if you're really wanting something or needing something but paying full price for it at the moment is a little too much for your bank account. I've done it; but beware, you can easily fall into doing this a lot and you'll end up being charged for like 5 different things on different days before your next income or paycheck.

Ooooo, awesome thank you so much! What are your thoughts on Goodwill or Salvation Army? I seen these around my city, and I know they are well-known.

I didn't know about that at all! I should use Paypal more, it's been such a long time; nice to see that there is payment options to help with it. Thank you for telling me about this!

For sure. There are a lot of visuals for this if you search around on pinterest or instagram.
Take a look at these articles, for example: [https://www.outfittrends.com/outfits-to-wear-with-white-sneakers-women/

White basic sneakers are what many consider an essential piece due to their versatility, how comfortable they can be (obviously depending on where you buy them), and just how stylish they can look with many different combinations.

You can go hunting around and you may be surprised to find a few great pieces for very cheap. I remember I bought a brand new J Crew linen dress shirt at a thrift shop in Seattle a few years ago for about 10 bucks!! Those are at least 50-60 dollars.

I checked, and it seems as if Paypal doesn't offer that all the time. A looot of online stores use those payment options through third party companies now, though. Afterpay, Affirm, Klarna, etc. all use these. Nothing is required and they're interest free, they only charge like a 5 dlr upfront fee but that's it.

I think fashion is a relative concept. There are some tendencies, but they are not a law that you simply must follow. Your choice is to follow the fashion or stick to what you like.

Well, this is very good to know! Looking at the link, I can see how it works without it looking weird. I wish I knew more name brands to be honest. But yeah, I'm glad thrift shops exist for poor folk like me to at least look somewhat nice.

Well, this is good to know! I make sure to remember this for the future. Does Amazon have this option? I use them all the time, but not sure if they do or not, as I don't know how to check or find out.

This is true. For me, I want to try different fashion outfits from different decades. I don't want to be wearing the same thing all the time, plus I probably confuse a lot of people who want to read me through what I wear
