Caliborn commented on the original fanart :
!

He was really pissed about it from what I read originally. Not sure how he feels now, tbh.

That got resolved. It blew up initially since Hussie didn't credit the original and a lot of people took it as a jab at the fandom, but he's apologized since, credited the piece on the news page and communicated with the dude on Twitter. According to AH, it was all just meant to be a cool little fan nod, but the context and lack of credit made that hard to buy at first.

Welp. That update was a doozy.
! And the chances that John's time/space defying wizardry undoes everything is…?

Hoo boy. Think it's safe to say no one was expecting that.
! And I forgot all about heroic/just deaths. I was thinking god tiers be fine no prob. Then the reminder.
! Reset please. -
I'm betting John gets zapped to the past, gets involved in that massacre and saves everyone. Or they hatch a plan with Calliope in dream bubbles.
-
SO. GOOD.
-
Why was the white wolf warrior chick fighting against Dave?
-
The Bec-prototyped ring makes the wearers incredibly loyal to Jade. That's why they tried to 'save' jade and thought Dave was a threat to their mission and her safety.

You know the whole god tier immortality seemed a lot less limited when we first heard about it.
Can I please have my time teleport retcon now? Please.
-
I'm really having fun watching John float around like an ineffective emotionless lump….

God Tier doesn't really give immortality, it's more like a litteral plot armor. Rose death was exactly the same as John's death against Bec Noir, but the latter was anticlimatic enough it didn't stick. I think what killed Rose was all the drama around her death (including her last words).

John did it. He blew on the cartridge!

It looks like we're actually in the final stretch! Update schedule according to the site:
We've had four days of straight updates and two more coming up. Then, on 4/6, we'l get the End of Act 6 animation. Then 7 days of updates leading to 4/13, when all of Act 7 will be posted.
If I had the time and energy, I'd do a catch up run of the series. I think I've got most of the relevant points down. Looks like everyone's getting in their battle stations in these updates. The lotsa pauses may have killed the hype a bunch, but after reading these last few updates, I'm getting excited again. I wonder how the big battle animation's going to be. A while ago, AH said that the Cascade animation was going to be the longest, but he also said that Act 6 was going to be at most as long as Act 5. Plus, there's a lot of ground to cover in these battles, since it's everything we've been building to since the trolls were first introduced. I don't want to get my expectations too high, since I know most of the break was AH juggling tasks, but I'm looking forward to the end of an era.

The final animation of act 6 is up. It's a Youtube vid so I doubt it'll be crashing anytime soon.
(its 18 minutes long)

The EOA6 flash is live!
[hide]Wow, I feel like this raised almost as many questions as it answered, haha. Some great stuff in it, though I can' help but feel that it isn't as classic as some of the other? Like Game Over has a bigger wow factor in my mind. Some really incredible moments, though, like Undertale happening for John's dad kicking ass. This flash really could have used another part, though, to better accommodate all the action. We've got some more pages coming over the next week, so hopefully we'll get some more stuff resolved.
I think what feels weird to me is that I don't think everyone's roles were really fulfilled. Like wasn't Jake supposed to do something more important? Fighting off LE's gang doesn't exactly feel relevant. Similarly I am not sure what was going on with the Jack duo or their importance to the story. The god dogs also sort of fell out of relevance, besides being a loose end to tie up. Was hoping that it would sort of converge one way or another. Also, surprised that Gamzee didn't end up doing anything. I know he's done enough already, but I was expecting him to have a random heroic/villainous moment, considering how important he was to the plot.
On the other hand, the fighting was a lot of fun. Lots of great animations and teamwork. I laughed out loud a bunch of times at how great things were, The humor's still alive Honestly, for all I can criticize it on, it was a pretty big task for AH to unite all these different characters and plots and bring them together in one battle, so he did a pretty admirable job working with it. I'm hoping that the coming pages and Act 7 answer these things. Considering the size of the break, there could be a whole lot of pages left to go through and solve all riddles. The coverage in the animation, though, makes me realize just how much left there is to cover.[/hide]

Act 7 is up.
Quite a beautiful and poignant ending.
! Wasn't expecting like actual animation. Like some impressive hand-drawn stuff here.
-
! I was actually kind of expecting the animated ending, haha. Considering the time spent pausing and the effort apparently put into the ending, I was fully ready for it to be an animation.
! There's a lot of stuff that I feel went unresolved and I think that the series would have benefited from one more animation. It's kind of weird that the finale focuses heavily on the Cherubs and Chess People, without nearly as much emphasis on any of the main characters. We should also have definitely seen Lord English end, considering he was the main villain. We got to see all of The Felt defeated and they didn't matter at all. I aired my grievances somewhere in the void of the subreddit, so I won't restate the rest here unless someone asks.
! On the other hand, the animation was glorious, and it was great seeing the Vast Croak in action. It's weird for this to be over, but it was a great ride. I think the only real closure the series needed was Dirk's anime shades becoming real anime.
! What I really hope to see in the future is a series guidebook made by AH, giving us some insight into things like what each aspect and class does. What would really be great is if we got something like a game guide for SBURB/SGRUB with those details and more about the game.–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Apparently there's going to be an epilogue in the future? It might take a while, though. I'm looking forward to it!
-
That would be nice. I fully agree on the on the ultimate fate of English and feel a little let down by it.
! Im guessing just as John was about to open the door is when Caliborn unleashes his shenanigans that we saw in that clayfigure update? John, Rose, Dave and Jade end up trapped in the House Icon juju, only to be released when Vriska opens the box, as seen in the animation

Homestuck has finally become anime. And that is all as far as good news are concerned.
The ending just leaves one empty. There is nothing left. Not even disappointment. Problem Sleuth had a great epilogue, but what kind of epilogue would Hometuck need? Too hard to guess. At least the Mayor got a good ending. Mayor's very existence brings peace and happiness to the universe.
It can not be that Caliborn has been right all along.
