The site has recently been giving hints on character that will appear in the game.
The recent reveal was Songbird.
The latest hints are-
1.) Anti-Registration
2.) Can manipulate energy.
Anyone wanna guess who it is? It's not Bishop BTW, he is Pro-reg.
The game will be based off the Civil War storyline from a few years back and so the characters are divided into 2 factions: Anti-Reg and Pro-Reg.

Ms. Marvel started as an Anti-Registration…
Don't think so she registered early on and had an arc where she went to track down those that didn't register.
ATM, it seems Iron Fist is the one that fits both hints.
Some quick info from GameInformer-
- Deadpool is playable
- Juggernaut is a pre-order exclusive character.
- Total of 24 characters for launch. (Not counting juggernaut)
- One of Iron Fist’s moves is healing.
- Doing multiple fusions in a row will earn you something called “Revival Tokens”
- Performing “Heroic Deeds” unlocks costumes.
- No upgrades for costumes.
- Boosts replace the upgrades for costumes. (Not tied with costumes)
- Can select up to 3 boosts a time.
- Can gain boosts from certain responses in conversations, beating bosses, doing a heroic deed, and simulator missions.
- Examples of boosts are increased melee damage and adding a type of elemental damage to attacks.
- 3 types of fusions: Clearing, guided, and targeted.
- Characters can be swapped out on the fly. (No need to go to checkpoints)
- Ability orbs that let you upgrade passive powers.
- Can interact with environment such as throwing a car with iron man.
I have to get this. And I still have pick up the first game still. I'll probably pick up the first game soon, since I only got a Wii and PS2. I'll probably pick up the Wii Verison.

I didn't know the WHOLE game was Civil War.
This means I don't get Hawkeye/Ronin or Mockingbird. Lame.
I'm hoping every character has simulator missions that are easy.

Who the hell is Penance? Jean Grey is nice to see, still waiting to see the Punisher in the game personally. Can't wait for this, the first one was really good.

This is just in case someone is confused with different Penances.

He didn't go evil. Also, I'm not sure why he's not a hidden character because he doesn't become Penance until Civil War ends. All he had to do was register. It wasn't even his fault that the incident happened.

I guess I misunderstood. I do remember Speedball surviving and I now remember him turning into Penance, but I thought that was him going evil. If not, then what is he? Just crazy?
Survivor's guilt.
He became Penance to punish himself and make up for it. And he never did anything evil he just started working for the registration and ended up under Osborn.
Anyway he later got rid of most of the suit's spikes and went rogue. He even took on Dr. Doom so he could bring Nitro to trial. Unfortunately afterward Moonstone pulled some strings to send him to a corrupt hospital and now he's being drugged and brainwashed.
Talk about getting screwed to the wall.
That's what happens to characters that Quesada hates.

I love gambit, but that bo seems way to clunky for him. Plus when ever I see him doing anything fancy with it, it looks like he get tangled with it.

My friends and I have been playing the first one to get ready for the second. I just wish the list of playable characters was better, a lot more new faces and Punisher!!!!!!(not Nick Fury) Since it will be online i'm sure some of us will see each other around. I thinking out of the new guys i'm going with Green Goblin, flying around throwing pumpkin bombs sounds sweet.
I was going to get this game…but I don't like the character selection :\ A lot of these characters had nothing to do with Civil War (Hulk, Storm, Iceman, Cyclops, Psylocke, Juggernaut, Iron Fist, Jean Grey, Thor, Gambit, Green Goblin, Venom)
(Probably will get it when it's cheaper)
Maybe not with the comic book version but Alliance's 2 interpretation of the story is intentionally different so they're obviously going to use characters who didn't have any involvement in the original story. Besides I'd foresee alot of bitching if a character like Deadpool isn't in the game whether he had any part in the story or not.

Got this game as a present a couple of days ago. I like it. But does anybody here know how I can get characters like Juggernaut or Magneto. They are supposed to be downloadable characters but the game doesn't download anything when it says "checking for downloadable content". Any idea what I have to do? :unsure:

Well yes you need to purchase the characters to play it and it checks to see if you have the characters there.
I have this on PlayStation 3 and for some odd reason, I can't find where to purchase the new DLC…
I'm pretty sure that the new character DLC for this game was only available for a few months. I never got it (don't own the game), but one of my friends did. Psylocke's awesome.
Activision closed down the downloads for Juggernaut and the Psylocke/Magneto/Carnage/etc pack. They felt that the downloads should be a limited time offer, which ended at December 31, 2009 (earlier according to others).
To make you feel better, the DLC characters aren't all that good. The best characters are already in the game.

As much I love Marvel and loved that game... I'm thinking about selling that game... :sad:
Actually the reason the DLC is no longer available is because Activision lost the Marvel license. They can no longer make and sell new products involving Marvel characters or even make more printings of already released Marvel titles. Basically Activision can't continue to make money off Marvel, thus no DLC.
Or this is at least what I heard on CAG. :ninja:
