I hear ya. I'm still trying to adjust to my new FightPad, myself. Plus, as a Bison player, I suffer from "failed Ultra becomes Warp" syndrome, so I feel your pain.

Haha, oh yeah, I tend to get these too.
But in my case its "failed Ultra becomes EX Flash Kick" syndrome. Which a good percentage of the time actually becomes more of a help than a hindrance :D.

I was pulling off Super to Ultra in training mode with Guile but I doubt its something I want to use in a real match since EX Sonic Boom's and EX Flash Kick's are much better.

Whew. After an ordeal setting up my online, I finally got to play some ranked matches. This is the way Street Fighter is meant to be! It's just like standing in an arcade except I'm not losing any quarters! I have to say that I'm really happy with the quality of players I've come across, and can't wait to dive back into it tomorrow. Fantastic game!

Having played Vega for a bit, I can already tell this is a match made in heaven! Partially because he plays like a faster, headgamier Bison. Plus, thanks to him, I've noticed some charge attacks actually seem to take different amounts of time to reach charge. For instance, I only have to hold down for about a second before I hit up and attack to do Vega's wall jump attacks, but to do his roll, I need to hold back for several seconds. Bison's attacks all take about the same time (just under 2 seconds), while Vega's attacks are all different. Wierd…
Basically, Vega plays alot like Bison, but more speed and combo oriented, while Bison is more tuned toward single, powerful strikes. Both screw with their opponents' heads, but in different ways. With Bison, you can't tell what move he'll bust out with, because in any given situation he has, like, 5 things he can do, and you can only come up with a counter to 2 or 3 of them in each situation. With Vega, he's all over the fucking place. Block low? Block high? Jump? Too late, bitch, your face got clawed! Shoulda thought faste--IZUNA DROP! HA! WHERE WERE YOU? Doing some sissy Shoryuken?! Pfffft! I claw that shit all day, bitch! Suck my down-up-punch, fool!
Also, I love how you can be theatrical, or a dick, with Vega, by taking off your mask or claw at any time. Wanna get serious and deliver a finisher like Vega was gonna do in the animated movie? Take off the mask, then attack. Wanna mock the guy? Take off your claw and beat his ass!
As for Vega's specials, his Super is more trouble than it's worth, but his Ultra is nice. The maneuver isn't that hard for me, since it's rather SNK-ish with the motion after charging.

I haven't been able to decide yet which characters I should should focus on. Too many characters I have fun with.
I think I might even start playing with Chun-Li. I have never been that into her before but now for some reason I really like playing with her. And, man, Dhalsim is seriously kicking ass in this one. I really like Viper too. She is a bit bitch to play but in right hands she is a bitch you don't want to mess with.

I say go with Dhalsim, out of the three he's been getting the least amount of love online AND he's got some pretty bitchin' tactics.
Some most excellent, lag-free matches were played between me and Shmeckie tonight. You've got a really nice Vega game going for a character you only been playing for such a short time. I hope you can Nightmare Booster issue phased out though. Evil dictators just aren't as bone shaking when they can't tap into they're own power

Been playing as Fei Long lately. Getting pretty good with him but my Ken has been sucking lately. Hey, I guess I can't complain as long as I'm playing good as one character. Also getting decent with Sakura and Dhalsim.

His Ultra's easy as shit. Hold down-back, then hit down-forward, thten up, and toward whatever wall you wanna jump to (usually up-back). It's basically making an L. Plus, if you use the Ultra from full-screen, he's almost guaranteed to hit (unless they block).

Guile and Claw's super/Ultra can also be performed as follows-
Hold Dwn-Back for at least 2 sec.
Press Fwd, then Back
Then Up-Fwd
…but I gotta agree, if Claw and Guile had their supers like ChunLi or Ryu then it might help them out in dealing damage.Speaking of which, Claw losing his Mask and claw stopped being fun back in the PSX days :/

Considering how he can fly all over the place, I've never really had much trouble with losing his accessories… Especially since he picks them back up with his dodging backflip.

Seriously, Vega needs to buy new straps for his mask and claw. It's kinda hilarious how easily and how frequently those fall off. But it's also a big nuisance. It just doesn't really make playing Vega more fun.
I wouldn't mind it if Capcom would offer sufficient trade-offs for losing the claw and the mask tho. Like droping the claw would give Vega a speed boost and losing the mask would give a bigger, more worth while damage boost.

I think it's meant to balance out the fact that Vega has a massive amount of attacks, can be a difficult target to hit, has huge reach with the claw, etc. Vega can do alot.

The game is definitely worth it Mr. Zoro. I was playing online earlier and finally made more than 1000 points. I did have nearly 2000 points at one time, but had a series of bad fights. I guess that's what makes it fun. I think I might go play a little more right now.

And like I said on Live; Bison's immediately got the advantage if he's on the offensive. He's all offense, with little defense.

So I went to Chinatown Fair in New York today, and I got to play SFIV for the first time. To be safe, I picked Ryu, and my opponent, who had beaten 3 guys already, was Zangief.
I lost, then won, then lost the rounds. Except for the first round, all the rounds were close, and I was proud of myself, cuz I did well without knowing how to do the charged smash thing and the ultra combos.
This game is really great: I definitely will get it for ps3.

God damn Zangief… I don't really have trouble with him anymore, but he's just not as fun to fight as the other characters. As Bison, I basically have to stick to his jumping specials, and his roundhouse. If I get in close and try to combo, I'm in his grab range. Boring.

I have been having worlds of fun lately by essentially playing as the SF2 bosses in Player Matches. What do I mean by that? Simple: I start out with Balrog. If the opponent wins, I move on to Vega, then Sagat, then finally Bison. If they lose any of those matches, it's back to Balrog.
Seriously, I've found doing this to be ridiculously fun!
