The huge electric blasts hit each other vertically, with Gash and Kiyomaro
on the ground, and Zeon above them.

Dufoux: Ganreizu Zakeru!!!

Kiyomaro uses the set gesture behind him, as Zeon moves around shooting
the Ganreizu Zakeru.

Kiyomaro starts to try to dodge the blasts.

Zeon sees the blasts being reflected back up.

One of them sorta hits him

The cloak goes around the Zakeruga, but is still knocked over a bit by

Kiyomaro dodges the cloak, and the Zakeruga goes past Zeon, by a few

"Answer Talker" it is called.[This is one of those things in manga which
is written using katakana (into a smaller term, usually is something in
english, like Gear Second) on top of kanji, the katakana is アンサー・トー
カー, the Japanese underneath translates to: "the person who gives answers"]
Predicting the movement, by a premonition it calls it beforehand.
"How is it avoided?"
"How is the attack applied?"
The person can know the answer instantaneously.
(Talking to Dufoux) Such an ability to think whether just you hold...

! so it seems as if they do have powers and now zeon has to take kiyomaro and gash more seriously. Now they are equal since kiyomaro has the same powers as dufoux and gash has the same type of power as zeon. Zeon has more training and Dufoux is more used to the power but Gash still has that whole baou thing and they still have their friends standing by to help if needed. This fight is getting interesting and hopefully will continue doing so.

The dub is already past the victoreme fight? I'm going to have to start watching it now, to see how they do some of my favorite parts. Loved the first battle umagon/ponygon is in as well as some of the later parts of the arc and hope they do a decent job of it.

Something came into my mind. Once the dub does reach Ted's appearance..In Japan, the seiyuu who does Naruto does Ted as well does it not? If the US dub indeed does get Naruto's US VA to do Ted, wont it just be funny hearing him say in ep 145, "I got Final Gear! Belive it XD!"

! As expected of a fight like this it seems to be getting even better. With dufoux's entrance it's finally a real battle between the two sides with strategy from both of them and some interesting spell usage. Can't wait to see what kind of end this fight will have.

! After last week's ending, I was sort of expecting this chapter to explain Dufaux a bit more, but all it did was show that his "Answer Talker" skills were just as uber as Zeon's power. The action is getting tight, but I really want either a bit more explanation or someone other than Gash and Zeon to stop standing around and just get out of there or stop Faudo! But hey, the yo-yo/buzzsaw made up for all of that…and something in me tells me that "Baou Zakeruga" just doesn't seem right anymore...

Kiyomaro and Gash move behind a pillar, and it blocks an electric attack.
Zeon and Dufoux move in back of them.
Zeon: Ho... Can you avoid this attack...
Zeon hits the bottom of the pillar with his cloak, Kiyomaro and Gash
run up the pillar.
Kiyomaro: Up!
At the top, Kiyomaro turns around.

The electricity moves closer to Kiyomaro.

! So zeon wants to see gash use the power of baou and kiyomaro seems hesitant to use it. Either zeon just wants to prove he's better or he's up to something. The baou zakeruga seems to have only shown its head, so maybe it's because it takes too much power or maybe kiyomaro was just too hesitant to use the true power of baou. Either way they're getting close to something big happening and I can't wait to find out what happens next week.

Man, I know this does sound a bit pairing talk, but I do hope for an emptional scene with KiyomaroxMegumi after the battle, like when he collapses from exaustion or relief, Megumi rushing towards him thus turning into another moment with CherishxTed XD. Sorry, coudn't help myself, the thought of megumi bein first iin an emotional state durring the Gash vs Zeon gave me way to much pairing fantasies, but I at least want an emotional kiss scene btween them, just once at least dammit XD Matoko-sense's really drawing towards us a bit obvious on who he's going to end up with XD Again, sorry about that XD

Just got around to reading this chapter and I can't help but wonder why their father has such a different opinion about one over the other. maybe gash was raised by his mother and their father raised zeon separately so he gave gash baou since he knew he would be weak from lack of training and trained zeon personally, or perhaps he wants to see if it was the power of baou that allowed him to win the tournament or if he could have won alone and is using gash and zeon to resolve this. I suppose I'll just have to wait until the next chapter comes out.

! Oh my goodness…that was an amazing, and extremely sad chapter. THAT was the true power of Baou!? Is this power even worth holding? I can't even predict what will happen next, since I don't know what will happen to Gash or Zeon now that they understand the horrible power Baou holds. I don't expect the series to end here, but next week will have to answer some questions on what happens next.

! Woah, what a chapter! Sadly Zeon is still an evil jerk and probably still wants Gash out, but the best part was finally seeing Papipulio and especially Cherish do something! So with Zeon and Gash exhausted and a couple other Mamono fighting…not to mention Faudo still running amuck...I hope next week continues this.

It took me a couple days to realize that. I went to WebSunday and saw Gash's smiling face under the "other stuff" section for this issue (the cover is hyping the Kenichi anime this week and looks like Kekkaishi next)…then just last night I looked again...and didn't see Gash there. The good news is its back next week, so no problems for the moment.

The end of vol. 14 is ep. 71 (the defeat of Tsuolon/Genzou by Wonlei).

BTW: I actually own about through vol. 25, have read the end of Vol. 17 the other day (physically, not on the web), and have been keeping up with the chapters…well, reading about them for a while, but reading the actual chapter since about the start of the Gash/Zeon fight.

Zeon keeps getting closer to Cherish and her partner, but she continues shooting(very nervous and shaking, anyway)… For some strange reason, his partner holds a piece of cloth in front of the gun, so when the bullet comes out, it makes some kind of spin effect. Zeon turns back to see where is the bullet going...and it hits just in some kind of button on Umagon´s tower top, releasing him(Kanchome was released before with another shoot). Cherish tries to stay calm while Zeon is using that "ring with thunders" attack(he manages to hit the book, but the partner tells her to continue), but she can´t aim to Tio´s tower button. Then, lot of hands appear helping her to hold the gun. They´re a lot of "animal-like" mamodos, with Ted right on Cherish side, telling her something... She stops shaking, and shoots. The bullet goes right through the thunder attack, breaking it, and hits the button while Cherish starts to dissapear

i think it is less like jojo and more like shaman king, seeing as the mamado talk and shit. I too love the series. The thing is null is the only scanlator of the series so you can read up to volume 14 and then see the anime from episode 71 on. That is what i did. (there might be scans of the stuff after but probably not all of it or as good quality)

The next several episodes to 100 has a couple "continuity chapters" and several fillers mixed together. Then when Faudo starts, the line blurs even further since Raiku begins with some "slice of life" chapter and it mixes together with some anime-only "slice of life" tales. Once the Faudo arc really gets going, then its pretty much follows the manga…until about ep. 138. Whatever you do, don't go past that episode and immediately go back to the manga from then on! You'll be greatful you did...

i read in the wikipedia about the book burning of one of he important characters but it was in episode 140 when it happens, so i am assuming it doesnt actually happen

That character…well he/she/it is one of the first to go in the subsequent battles, but under different circumstances. In fact, that battle takes place originally after a couple other battles. A spoiler guide to everything post-138 in both manga and anime for comparison (even if I haven't seen the anime version).

Anime Version:

! -Gash forces head inside to take on Riou/Faudo
-Wonlei/Rodeaux, both send each other back
-Umagon and Karudeio/Fango and Jedun, horses win, two go back
-Riya and (someone, don't know)/Gyaron, Gyaron sent back
-Riya/Zaruchim, draw…I think
-Ted shows up
-Kanchome and Momon/Kiees, Bari shows up, ends in draw (no one sent back)
-Ted/Cherish, "Heart Demon" sends Cherish back, Ted beats him
-Riou/Earth, Earth sent back
-Riou/Zeon, Zeon sends him and Zaruchim back, Gash/Zeon begins
-Gash and Zeon revealed mearly as "brothers" and Zeon goes on about Baou without explaining why
-Everyone still standing catches up, Zeon takes out Riya
-"Awakened Power" = Gash's book glows gold, gains an advantage
-Baou Zakeruga (regular, but a powerful one) vs. Jigadeius Uruzakeruga: Baou wins)

-Ted arrives, takes on Cherish/Gyaron, Cherish forced to fight Ted or else she gets shocked courtesy of Gyraon (and Zeon), Cherish finally stands up to the evil nutjob, Ted goes back but takes Gyaron with him
-An extremely scarred Bari returns to take on Kiees, two of them go over their rivalry, Bari sends Kiees back, but Kiees's final action ends up making Bari go with him
-Karudeio and Earth/Heart Demon, don't remember everything but Karudeio goes back
-Canchome, Tio, Umagon and Momon/Rodeaux and Jedun, three of them end up locked in pillars while Momon valiently "evades" before his book gets burned
-Kyomaro finally "returns", Gash's electricity enhanced as well as new spells (unlocked from the end of the Riou fight) unleashed, Jedun goes back while Rodeaux just gets "tormented"
-Faudo finally arrives in Japan, but can't do much since his aiming system was shut down by the allies.
-Gash/Zeon, Gash and Zeon revealed not just as brothers but as twins, with their father the king and Baou his ultimate power inherited to Gash. Gash sent away to school, Zeon bares years of training…but he still is angry and wants Baou
-Baou Zakeruga = super-powerful evil black dragon that consumes anything that summons it, including Gash! Jigadeius Uruzakeruga actually used to stop it!

Part of ep. 1 (Hyde never existed, Kaneyama is the main enemy of chp. 1..but still pretty much the same)
Ep. 13 (Once again: no Hyde in the manga)
Ep. 31-35 (The "Demon Mirror" arc, interesting ideas but its filler and has some cruddy stuff going on)
Ep. 51 (Only real continuity here is Brago's fight, and that should have happened way back when Gash fought Eshulot! Other than that, the anime introduces "Lord" too early to Gash and Kyomaro)
Ep. 57-58 (Little bits of adjusted continuity here and there, but mostly all anime…though at least the latter episode gives a bit more buildup to the journey to Brazil)
Ep. 67-68 (The former shouldn't be included, but it was basically a much shorter chapter and only one Majestic 12 showing up..guess? The latter...a little bit of the manga, but mostly anime only)

Since I don't know where you are in Lord, the rest will be in spoilers:

Ep. 100 (Mostly epilogue to the "Other World" arc...but it has Folgore if that's a consolation)
Ep. 103 (Filler for development of Ted and the situation he has)
Ep. 108 (Something to do with Gash wanting to go home and see his mom)
Ep. 117-119 (Bit of development that Raiku doesn't do in the first and last...and the middle is a silly filler with Dartagnian, the co-worker of Prof. Takamine)
Ep. 122-123 (Former involves a summer festival and a Japanese legend, the latter is a filler encounter between Ted and Bari)
Ep. 139-150 (Here's where things get weird: while there are some things kept from the manga [Zeon/Riou, Wonlei's sacrifice, the introduced spells…well one has the same name but a different look and affect in the manga] and a few battles that are similar encounters to the manga at face value [Riya/Zaruchim, Ted/Cherish, Bari/Kiees], this is all Toei's work. Tread these episodes cautiously.

ah well Gash Bell filler hasn't really been a problem anyways. The filler is quite good. Even better than the One Piece fillers even.

1- Gash vs. Barry (The spread that shows Baou Zakeruga has been my desktop background ever since I saw the image!)
2- Victoreem vs. Gash & co.- IMO this fight was very well written, I liked how Kyanchome's ability was used in this fight.

! According to translations, Rodeaux's body turns against him because of his previous "Godufa" pledge to Zeon and Faudo. Since he decides to turn against Zeon, Zeon makes his body fight him, literally tearing him apart. Papipulio sends him back so he won't be in pain anymore…but hey, it was a sad goodbye to a powerful...jerk :p
