What the hell?
It's a goofy, over the top, SUPER ROBOT cartoon that doesn't take itself seriously at all.
QFT yo
But in my opinion, Yoko was meant to be the fanservice character, nothing more. I very much dislike characters like that, but that's probably just because I'm a girl. Fans weren't meant to "get past" the fanservice, and even if they did, there'd probably just be an empty shell of a character with an "lol, i got you!" note taped up on the inside. Yoko was created for drooling male otaku who have nothing better to do with themselves than create fantasies about made-up characters.
So take a chill pill, Ao Kiji, you don't have to resort to cursing to get your point across. :) I think what you said about looking past the fanservice is a valid point, but maybe not with this particular character. Plus, in the big scheme of things, you have to ask yourself, does it even really matter?
But, getting away from that, the OST is almost done torrenting for me, and I can't wait to clear off some songs on my phone to put on GL ones. :)
I didn't really like the ending. I feel like it could have been better. Leeron must have been slipping ugly pills to Rossiu or something, cuz I don't think age alone could do that to a normal person. O_o
The beginning of 27 was my first real "fangirl moment" though. I made a high-pitched squeaky noise and flapped my arms around like a very silly person. I feel like Viral should have had a bigger part, though. All he got was the ship and the welcoming chores? Somebody give the poor guy a hug! And thank goodness he was still pretty, because if he had a Rossiu face, it would have ruined it for me.
All in all, the whole "My girlfriend died and I became a hobo" ending wasn't awesome enough for Simon. poo poo on you, Gainax.
