I'll add you guys later. Gamertag "TnA Yim". Don't ask, just know.
I'll add you bastards when I get my Xbox back from MS.
And I don't wanna be "that" guy Gohn, but you have a habit of criticizing games you've never played. Although I agree COD as a whole is better than the first two Halos. That said, are you buyin Halo 3?

Sadly there are no furry mascots, mini-games or waggle in Halo 3. Somehow, I seriously doubt it.

Uh, what? Gohn doesn't criticize something he knows nothing about. Have played the first two Halo games extensively, so.
Don't have a 360, so no. However, if Noah ends up getting Xbox Live, might play online occasionally or something.
Zappaomega 8
I'll try to add you guys as soon as I get halo (days, weeks, years, ? )
if any of you Play guitar hero then I'll also school you in that come October
Played this on Saturday. A store broke the street date, my friend bought it.
Lemme sum it up - I hate Halo. And this game really impressed the hell out of me.

who the hell is noah?
I guess i have to get a xbox 360 now
@Radical:
who the hell is noah?
Definitely not a roommate.
Since I have been replaying the campaings I have had a change of heart. Despite the ending I think I actually prefer Halo 2's campaign over Halo 1's campaign. By just a little. But then again I haven't played either on Legendary yet so I don't know how those campaigns truly plays out. Halo 3's campaign is apparently piss easy on Normal though.
It's a bit annoying to have to wait one extra day to get this, I guess tomorrow I could go the midnight release too but… that's a too geeky thing to do. Besides most likely I'll be playing this game for couple years to come so I guess that in the end one day doesn't really matter.
I dunno how much I'll play this online outside co-op. Sure it will be blast but TF2 and COD4 will need some love too (if they get good reviews, that is).
Halo 2 had a horrible Campaign mode, largely because the story went to shit.
I don't know Gohn, I kind of liked the story in Halo 2. It was really confusing but I took a liking to the Arbiter (as strange as that sounds). Unfortunetly, for me at least, apparently they drop the Arbiter's story almost completely for Halo 3 and focus solely on Master Chief.
What the fuck, that makes Halo 2's story even worse. "HEY GUYS HERE'S THE ARBITER WHICH IS SUDDENLY SUPPOSED TO MAKE YOU CARE ABOUT THE COVENANT. OH THE LEADER OF THE FLOOD IS A GIANT TALKING PLANT AND IS APPARENTLY OMNISCIENT. BRUTES COME OUT OF NOWHERE AND ARE SUDDENLY THE BAD GUYS." If they aren't even going to bother finishing up the whole Arbiter nonsense, they never should have made him, in the first place.
Halo 2's story made Halo 1 feel entirely pointless, since now we're suddenly supposed to feel compassion for a race that we constantly slaughtered in a previous game because they were being giant penises and trying to ruin shit. That, and Piranha Plant Flood Boss was totally lame. Sorry, but when you have to drag everybody underground so they can have a picnic and discuss what's happening in the story, things are lookin' pretty bad.
Ha, the story is probably the reason why I'm liking H2 more.

Is there a plot to H3? I'm still trying to figure that one out.
A lot of people seem to be disappointed with Halo 3, largely due to it not living up to hype. There seems to be a common trend of calling it Halo 2.5, since it's basically Halo 2 with new guns.
And even some die hard Halo fans are saying that the campaign mode is pretty shitty.

Thats not the case with my friend bennet. He is a hardcore Halo fan,in fact he bought Halo last night at midnight and played it all night until school started. He says the story is awsome and the game is so fun. Whenever I say Halo is overated he calls me a retard and goes into a rage:shocked:
O and by the way if you think that is extreme my friend Danny skipped school today just to play Halo all day long.
Well they will love halo no matter what. But it probably is different for the not so obsessed Halo buyer.

wait, Halo 3 is out?
Seems insanely early. I barely heard anything about it before this.

its been out since I believe this morning.

I've been hearing about it for months on end. Every video game site and magazine I've read since August has been hyping it.
I'm sure that was sarcasm from Carter's part.
@myogatheflea:

Well, uh, duh. Naturally, yes, there is a plot. I haven't completed it yet but so far H3 seems to be a more story driven than the first two –- it will conclude the story arc.
I have to say the game is extremely good. Yes, like always there are some elitist snotfaces who has loads of sand in their vagines because the series is very popular but, really, if you look past the popularity of it a video game doesn't really get much better from this. It has actually exceed my expectations all around. It's up there with Bioshock and Gears of War, probably even better than those thanks to all the features they have packed into it. So, congrats Bungie. A job well done.
And, oh I so dig the Brute weaponry. Brute Shot used to be my favourite weapon so this is Heaven.
I lol'ed at everyone who wasted their time waiting in line for hours to get Halo 3, thinking it'd be sold out. Walked into a local electronics store yesteday and saw they were absolutely flooded with copies. Especially funny since they were the only ones to be selling it for $53.88, while all other retailers were selling it for retail price.

Yeah, because disliking Halo has everything to do with hating it because it is popular. OR MAYBE, JUST MAYBE, YOU CAN HATE IT BECAUSE IT'S A SHITTY SERIES. HMMMMMMMMMMMMMM.
It's sad how people will always find the dumbest reasons to defend their series, especially with excuses like that. "WELL IF YOU DONT LIKE MY GAME YOURE AN ELITIST"
But anyway, Halo has always done a horrible job telling a story, which is kind of disappointing since the actual Halo canon isn't that bad; the games just suck at explaining what's going on.
Then I'm humbly sorry. My apologize, I didn't realize it could hurth anybody's feelings as I thought my wording was just to humour others. So, my error, I was wrong, and I will never do that again –- I have already forgotten that the words "elitist" and "sand" even exists.
While I'm afraid that anything I say will make you just more angry... I have been wondering - not much but just a little - have you been saying, I could be wrong here though, that anybody who really likes Halo hasn't played much of FPS games before? Or have I completely misunderstood your trace of thought?
No, I'm completely serious. I barely heard anything about Halo 3 coming out over the past few months, and now all of a sudden it's out. It just seems sudden.
Maybe it's because I was in high school when Halo 2 came out (with all of my classmates going OMG OMG and having Halo parties on the release day), but it doesn't seem like it's as big a deal.
Well I beat the campaign mode and it really did shape up to be pretty satisfying. The final stage alone makes the whole game worth buying. A lot of shit starts going down once the Flood arrive and then the story really establishes itself; although it would of been nice to do that from start to finish.

-EYE ROLL-
No, never said that. Did say that there are better FPS than Halo, though, and that the majority of Halo players hadn't played FPS before they played Halo 1. The Halo series scooped up a lot of casual gamers, which is why it's so successful.
I wish Timesplitters got half as much attention and praise as Halo.
Timesplitters doesn't have a boring archetypal protagonist that says "… To give them their bomb back." and other moronic shit, so it'll never be popular.
Fucking love that series, though.
sergent cortez is a classic protaganist in my book
at least 2 and future perfect generally had good reviews
I hope I dont get flamed… but I thought timesplitters future perfect was better than Halo2
I'm jus hoping they will have more luck with Haze and Splitters 4.
Timesplitters is the only FPS I enjoy playing.(I like halo too though, but Timesplitters is much better imo.)
I always preferred arena FPS games to "realistic" war based ones, which are just a chore to play imo.
@Cap'n:

I agree. Timesplitters is way too underrated and ignored for such a crazy and awesome game series.
@Cyringohn:

Oh come on man! That line was great! Timesplitters is a great game but don't compare it to Halo just to say, "Halo is a piece of shit and Timesplitters isn't. There's so many other great games besides Halo," or something along those lines.
That line was awful. Master Chief is a walking bank of one-liners that sound like something out of an old 50's movie.
Really? I thought it was great so maybe I'm old fashioned then or just easily entertained. Or maybe not. Idunno.
@Cyringohn:
No, never said that.
Okey dokey. Because that would had made me to roll my eyes.
We tried four player co-op and it was way too easy on Legendary. Sort of sucked the fun out of it. But that's why there are the Skulls. As for old good multiplayer, customizing gametype and using Forge and video editor from the fly is really something else. And Gravity Hammer, oh boy, that one is freakishly cool. Plus using flamethrower was very satisfying, especially against the Flood –- I really like what they have done with the Flood.
I got my butt served really badly tho. I guess that's what you get when you have hardcore FPS gamers as your friends... it's still good that they forced me to buy H3 this early. At first I figured I would buy it after the Orange Box but yeah.
I have a feeling that with the way TimeSplitters is, it is doomed to be eternally niche. Monkeys with guns and guns FROM DIFFERENT ERAS are just not mainstream.
And Halo 3 is bagging a hell of a lot of critical praise. Practically everybody is saying it's good. If you don't like it either it's not your cup of tea or you just set your standards to impossible heights.
I saw the Halo 3 commercial last night.
All I could think of is…who put classical type music to a war game?

All I could think of is…who put classical type music to a war game?
That's one reason why Halo kicks so much ass - the music!

All I could think of is…who put classical type music to a war game?
The same reason they put Mad World with Gears of War. It works quite well
Man, Halo 3's campaign mode was utter crap - Halo 2's campaign was infinitely more enjoyable for countless reasons. Neither of them can match Halo 1, but oh well, that's expected.
At least there's multiplayer (the main reason why we buy this game).
Well, that didn't surprise me :P. Did you play it on Heroic? Seriously, everybody who hasn't started the game yet, unless you suck skip the Normal difficutly. I mean it. Gosh, I loved the ending.
@KaizokuFan22:

What type of music you would like to hear in a war game then?
My (horrible) Bungie stats:http://www.bungie.net/Stats/Halo3/Default.aspx?player=YoskaR
I have three videos up, tho. Nothing too special but check them out if you can.
Who the hell plays Halo for the campaign only though…
It's all about shooting aliens and then going online and using those alien skills to shoot twelve year olds.
So…
Rule #1 while playing Halo 3 on Xbox Live:
Always go for the guys with voice masks.

Played it on Legendary with a friend.
Both endings are pretty damn bad.

Wow. You really don't like Halo.
