Barona/Banaro Island I believe, is the last level.
-
@Mr.:
I got the game last Friday, but I didn't get the carrying case :( Did anyone else who ordered of Play-Asia get the case? I wasn't sure if Tonitonichooper ordered of Play-Asia.
As for my opinion, I was expecting a little more. Playing as Ace has satisfied me though.
I did. Nothing that special.
-
Same here.
I like it only because it's the only case I have. Nicer than the psp one too I guess.
I pre-ordered way back at the beginning of August though. If you did it in the 2 weeks prior to the games release, they probably ran out.
Have yet to play the game though. Will get around to it sometime tonight.
-
Two people at Gamefaqs have claimed they've unlocked Brook by maxing out the Strawhats bounties then completing story mode, I haven't tried it though.

That's a hell of a lot easier than everyone.
So you just beat the game with people to unlock everyone else though, right?
-
Well I finally downloaded it
Wait! What.. you've downloaded it? I didn't think there were a working DS emulator? Not to mention the game rom to be out so soon?
-
It's not an emulator, he used a flashcard.
-
Just got Gear Spirit literally 2 hours ago. My opinion so far: This is completely awesome. I've beaten some story modes and working at it still, but so far, I'm pretty damn impressed. If you get past some of the graphics, this is a really great play. I like the smoothness of the fighting system, and the fact that you don't absolutely have to use cards to attack (I'm looking at you, Chain of Memories). Definetly fun.
Like I said, I haven't beaten it yet, so I can't give a full appreciative review, but so far I think my grades are gonna be down the drain because of the game. It's REAL addictive. I didn't even mean to play for 2 hours, as I have school work.
Great game for those who are still pondering whether to get it or not(if such people exist in this universe).
-
My copy better come tomorrow…. or else....
Anyways, it better be a better game then Naruto Shinobi Crapsuden.
-
In case nobody seen it yet:
I was thinking about a sharp goat-like voice, but this one shows his goofy character very well.
-
It's not an emulator, he used a flashcard.
Oh damn.. thought i had a chance to try it out, and see if it actually worth the money :C
On another note; I dont like the voice Brooke has in that video.. its too girly i think.. he should sound more like John Cleese imo.
-
Brooke's voice is just a higher pitched voice than the one I had in my mind when I read his lines, I know I can get used to that voice.
Besides, remember Franky? Everyone wasn't expecting him to sound like THAT.
-
Huzzah, so they did use that kind of voice. It's pretty much how I always imagined him to sound, so it's alright with me. It's a shame most of the specials are pretty lame looking, though.
-
Besides, remember Franky? Everyone wasn't expecting him to sound like THAT.
And Franky turned out awesome. Brook sounded good, but it could be a bit better.
-
So…has anyone guessed what are the effects of the "max bounty" cards? So far I got Fuschia´s mayor(for Luffy, attack raised for a second...and nothing more seemed to happen), Kuina(for Zoro, he had the heart simbol near the life bar through the whole fight, and I got an instant +1) and Bellemere(for Nami, I don´t know what it does)
-
Some of the cards are stupid… What's the point of the skull cards? They lower health... And When two characters who work together in the series are in my card deck thing they always glow together what does that mean? And does the number on the card effect how it works?

Skull cards: poison cards (one of the enemies get poisoned).
Double cards: some couples of cards(like the BW couples, Pell and Chaka, Yosaku and Johnny or Koby and Helmeppo) have a special "combo" effect: if both of them are on the lower screen and you touch one of them, you get both effects at the same time, but you only use the card you touched, so you can use the other one again.
The number of the card is its "cost". All the card decks have a max of 15 points, so you must choose your cards so their total cost is equal or less than 15. Anyway, yes, "3 point" cards are usually better than 2 or one. Example:- Merry(1 point): restores about 1/4 of health
- Rocket Man(2 points): random: sometimes it heals all your life, and sometimes it leaves you almost dead
- Thousand Sunny(3 points): restores about 1/2 of health(I´m not sure) and it gives you a double Attack boost
-
Ah thanks. I unlocked the Skeleton guy! He's so whimsical and fun to play as! His voice is silly too! "HOHOHOHO!".
I had to max out all the Strawhats bounties then finish a story mode with any character. Didn't take too long but playing through that same stage that many times got a bit tiresome… -
It comes tomorrow or the postman dies! And thanks for the card info, I'd never have figured it out.
-
Here's the sales rank for the first week.
-
Huh, looks like it's doing great.
-
Funny facts about the special attacks:
- If you try to do a special attack to someone who already has the "special fire", and his special level is higher than yours, he´ll attack you instead. If you have the same level, you two will fall and lose the "special fire".
- If someone is doing an special attack on the stage(they´ll stay in the place and punch each other all the time), you can´t do an special attack to the remaining opponent
-
Hell yeah, Brook is awesome! His voice is really perfect. I just realized that I actually never imagined how any of his words would sound like besides "Yohoho". It actually isn´t anything like I imagined him but hearing it in action it really is the perfect voice IMO.
Oh and besides, does he say "continue" on the end of his #1 Special Attack or am I just hearing things I want to hear? Because it really sounds like that. Would be an awesome inside gag if it really is.
And yeah, his specials pretty much suck but that could have been expected because the game most probably was already too far in development when his first attacks appeared. So it´s not a letdown and he still awesome. And one last thing, as dumb as it may sound I just LOVE his afro!^^
-
Stupid sender. What were they thinking, millennia passing by and still not getting here. I am anxiously waiting becuase of its awesomeness, and one more word: Brook.
-
aai had it preorder and I'm still waiting for the new one because it broke when it was being shipped
-
Oo, bad luck for you. Sorry that happened, I'm guessing you can't wait to play either.
-
Ouch, that sucks Darknessslayer. But hey, if anyone who hasn't played this game wants to "play" it, just send me a PM. I have a DS emulator and the game ROM just sitting on my computer (since I've already gotten the game i don't need it).
And I say "play" because you will basically have to play with mute on and it goes extremely slow. Also a lot of other weird things happen, like the screen going black and whatnot.
-
Game gets old after about an hour.
At first you're like "Hell yea, One Piece action"
then you realize everyone plays the same, except some are just better, and the game just isn't fun anymore.
and I have no motivation whatsoever to unlock brook after a friend showed me his specials.
Good thing i got this for free, but I still feel like I wasted the credit.
COME ON!!! CONSOLE FIGHTER!!!!
-
Why why why must the mailman be on vacation? I didn't get the mail yet, hoping that it is among the letters and magazines we get every day (except Sunday).
-
I still want it. Playing as Blackbeard, Franky, Brooke, and everyone else will make it all worth it. I'm easy to please when it comes to OP games.
-
Darn, the mail came but it still wasn't there.
-
Can you stop bumping this topic to update us on your mail situation.
Sorry to say, but most of us don't care.
YOu might want to save your toleration points for when you decide to bump this topic to post the fangasm you had all over you keyboard about this game.
-
OK, sorry. I'll only bump it when I have information.
-
Is there anyway to set the difficulty for CPU players in the versus mode? XD I'm finding things to be a little too easy, so it would be wonderful someone knew how to increase a difficulty level. I don't wanna get bored of this game too quickly. D:

Go to options (the lower-right square in the main menu. The second option is the difficulty(normal and Hard, I guess). Anyone knows what´s the third option?
Also, I´d recommend everybody to set the game in hard mode, because you get more bounty for your fights
-
Sounds like a plan if I get this for Christmas this year.

Thank you so much. XD I have no idea what the third option is.

I finally got my copy and beat Luffy and Zoro's story modes. I'm getting cards for their new specials, but they don't show up on the touch screen. How do you activate them?
-
@tony-kun: Don't be an ass, that was barely a bump. And if you don't want your game I'll gladly take it. And your DS too, as I'll need that to play it.
-
Ok, I´ve now have max. bounty for ALL the characters and there´s still two cards missing in my collection (which would be the two between Sengoku and Rocket Man). I idea what I might be needing to do to unlock them?

According to the guys on Gamefaqs…nobody knows.... Maybe they´ll be distributed via wifi...
-
Ok. But even though if I might sound like a complete idiot, can somebody please tell me what this wifi is that everybody keeps talking about when commenting on a game´s worth? I seriously have no idea.

It's using the DS' Wifi Capabilities to use game features with other players round the world by means of a Friend Code which you would imput into your game. You can also recieve stuff into your game from the distributors I believe. You need a wireless net connection to use Wifi I believe.
I don't think anything is being given out by Wifi, you probably just gotta do more to get them last cards.

It´s just the Ds online connection. It can be a normal multiplayer mode, or a total online mode(like the one on Mario Kart or Worms Open Warfare 2). This game, anyway, only have multiplayer (singlecard or multicard)…
-
So that´s it? It´s only an online-mulitplayer mode? What the hell are people whining about then by saying it sucks if it doesn´t have any? The gameplay would be the same either way wouldn´t it? Thanks for the explenations.

Well…the thing is that usually, these games can only be imported, and if they don´t have wifi, you´ll probably have to play alone, since it´ll be difficult to finad another friend with the game...
-
There are only eight different levels. From which Arc is the level in the right /up coner?

I understand, but still it doesn´t infect the gameplay itself if you play against the computer or against real people, so I don´t quite get the bitching (not here but mostly at gamefaqs.com). Multiplayer games are only fun if your opponents are right next to you so that you can smack them in order to distract them but if that´s not the case and you play online I at least see no difference to a computer opponent. But still thanks for clearing that up.

Its not an arc by itself, it´s Banaro Island where (chapter 440/441 spoiler)…
! …Ace fought against Teach
-
How do you change outfits? Becuase I remember playing as Chopper with a little cape and I don't remember how I did it….
