well I don't even think its for 3 eps, they just said the season finale if I remember correctly. Which is good I think, apart from Sarah Jane, how many other companions have we seen again? If any of them deserves to come back it should be the Brigadier….even if he is old and fat now...
Doctor Who

-
For those who get BBC7 on their radios should check it at 6pm on Sundays, the new 8th Doctor series apparently started a few weeks back, stories are set to include the Cybermen and Daleks sometime (I think the Dalek one has finished, the Cyberman one is the last in the series), next one is called Horror of Glam Rock (presumably a pun of Horror of Fang Rock.)
-
well, they got a mini runthrough of the first half of the next series in the new mag, be warned as spoilers are here:
Episode 1: Smith and Jones.
Episode 2: The shakespeare code
Episode 3: (Title Unknown, presumably the fenric one)
Episode 4&5 : Daleks in Manhatton
Episode 6: The Lazarus Experiment (The Mark Gatiss ep)
-
Well, looks like it happened:
! The Master is in series 3, he will be the major twist of the third series and will only appear at the end. They wish for John Simm (Life on Mars) to play him.
spooky, especially coupled with the fact that New Beginnings, a box set featuring the Master (and the 4th Doctor's regeneration) was released yesterday (and just dropped onto my doormat this morning.

Wow. I really hope the "You're not alone" message does mean the return of the Master. Can't wait to see more.
-
More than likely it does.
Anywho, I picked up the new book Made of Steel yesterday, its only a quick reads thing which has about 100 pages, but gives some information on Martha's character, its set after the episode The Lazarus Experiment (she comments about meeting a mad scientist) it also confirms that Adeola was her cousin.
-

-
New Trailer was played at a press conference apparently, and this is what it had:
The episodes were followed by a trailer that included scenes from the first three shows, and snippets from the rest of the season. These included some very sinister looking humans from Human Nature, scarecrows, flying Daleks, the Doctor's wedding, a two headed mutant thing(?!!), brief snatches of Jacobi, followed by Captain Jack saluting and a still of a smug and sinister looking John Simm (without beard) in a suit in front of Parliament in what looked like a still from a TV news report. No mention or indication was given as to who he was playing, what his character was called, but he elicted pantomime boos from the audience.
-
John sim is mr saxon
-
Mister Saxon actually, it makes it work more (Mister Saxon is an anagram of Master no six.)
Anywho, I was thinking, since i got em on my LJ anyways, anyone interested in the Big Finish Doctor Who audios? I got about three stories uploaded atm, with two more on the way. I'll put them on here if people are interested.
-
Dunno if this is ok like….but still, if it aint, I'll remove the links.
Doctor Who: Bloodtide (6th Doctor)
The prehistoric earth is dying. Thunderclouds roll across the skies, cloaking the land in darkness. The seas crash and boil as the rain turns to acid. the remnants of the Silurian race place themselves in suspended animation, deep below the surface...One day they will awaken and reclaim their world.
The TARDIS has landed on the Galapagos Islands, a desolate outcrop of rocks shrouded in mist and fear.
In the settlement of Baquerizo Moreno, there are rumours that prisoners have been mysteriously disappearing from the gaolhouse. A fisherman has been driven insane by something he saw in the caves. And the Doctor and Evelyn are not the only new arrivals; there is also a young natural philosopher by the name of Charles Darwin...

Mister Saxon actually, it makes it work more (Mister Saxon is an anagram of Master no six.)
Holy…I just got that...sneaky mister Russel T davies very sneaky....
-
The scary thing is, that he will be the 6th actor to have played the Master…..
-
A New trailer which started playing on interactive yesterday be warned spoilers aplenty
-
Yea lol, thats the one I was talking about with Mr.Saxon on at the end. The Jack-Straws do look VERY awesome tho, as with that weird thing seen soon after.
Anyways, absolutely can't wait now lol, less than 24 hours to go <3
-
Thought I'd post the other Audios I gots
'Spare Parts' A four part story featuring Peter Davison as the 5th Doctor.
"I'm not even sure they are people in the end. They're just tinned left-overs…"
On a dark frozen planet where no planet should be, in a doomed city with a sky of stone, the last denizens of Earth's long-lost twin will pay any price to survive, even if the laser scalpels cost them their love and hate...and humanity.
And in the mat-infested streets, round about tea-time, the Doctor and Nyssa unearth a black market in second-hand body parts and run the gauntlet of the augmented police and their augmented horses.
And just between the tramstop and picturehouse, their worst suspicions are confirmed:
The Cybermen have only just begun, and the Doctor will be, just as he always has been, their saviour....

Even if you didn't hear any rumours, Even if you had no clue who Mister Saxon was. As soon as you see that trailer and see his grin you know right away hes a bad guy
No one who smiles like that is ever good
-
damn, that was quite easily one of the best eps I seen in a while, so many hilarious scenes,
! I especially loved the bit when the Judoon invade, then all the Doctor says is 'Ooooo, they have a little shop!' that bit was just hiarious, and the whole extracting the radiation into his foot lol
! 'Your right, I look like a madman.' throws other shoe in the bin there, MUCH better!' it made me lol so much.
! I liked the referenc to Adeola from Army of Ghosts too, linking her as her cousin.
! The Judoon were pretty awesome, I always thought they'd be an awesome enemy but didn't think of HOW awesome they would be, then again I dun see them returning again, which is a terrible shame. I loved their way where they grab Oliver (who was ALSO awesome in this episode) and instead of shooting him, scanned him instead lol. Although I couldn't help but feel they were a lil too Cybermanish in the way they walked lol.
! The Plasmavore was pretty naff I found, I was hoping them to be more like the ones from Curse of the Fenric. I did like the Straw thing tho, hopefully a reference to Red Dwarf's Polymorths.
! Martha…....I dunno, the first few scenes when she was on the phone was pretty naff, she seemed to be pretty naff then, but I quite loved the way she was used in this episode, instead of Rose where we were spoon fed everything, this time we have everything thrown at us at the same time, in a crazy and hilarious episode that works.
! The Doctor, as usual I loved him, Tennant is such a great actor for him, the way he acted during the episode, hilarious and cute (especially his annoyed at computer hairstyle XD)
! The Sonic Screwdriver, I was pretty amused with lol, I loved the whole 'nooo my babby is dead etc etc and then throwing it away thing, although I wasn't too keen with him going 'I have a new one' at the end, could we not have had a couple of episodes without it?
! Mister Saxon: I'm pretty much 100% positive that this is the Master now, especially with the way he was mentioned. I'd like to think that he is the Master, but has amnesia.
! The Doctor's Brother: Well, that was interesting, 'he has a Brother, but not anymore.' although most Doctor Who fans know about the Last Jon Pertwee episode where the Master is revealed to be his brother, although since the Actor died, it never came into fruit.
! The TARDIS: Damn, I must admit, the way the TARDIS was shown in this episode was just great. The way it was introduced is just excellent, completely overshadows other ships, most ships like on Star Trek or Star Wars, you see em and are like 'Yeah, Spaceship, whoop-dee-doo.' whereas the TARDIS your always like 'WOW, its BIGGER on the inside.' and each and everytime you feel the magicness of it. And the music that played when Martha entered the TARDIS was just amazing.
! Next Ep: Shakespeare Code, I never knew what to think about this one, I mean, Unquiet Dead seems to be a lot like this, and that was a great episode. But we got this one AND Daleks in Manhatton in the next few weeks, I dunno, I'll say what I think when it comes on lol -
Loved the episode and its clear from where hes taking martha in the next two weeks thats he taking her to the exact same places he took rose in series one
The judoon reminded me of judge dredd for some reason which may not be a coincidence as there were two other 2000ad references in the same episode:happy:
one last thing it was the psirens in red dwarf who used a straw on their victims
-
According to 'Made of Steel' he promised Martha only one trip, and in true Doctor Who style, struggles to get back to the right time and place.
And yes, the Judoon were like Dread weren't they lol, althought he Rhino took a new spin on things lol
Anyone else notice the Preacher sign on the bins at the end of the episode btw?
-
One episode in and I already prefer the new assistant to Rose. By the end of series 2, I REALLY wanted to see her get a bullet to the head or something, ANYTHING! This, I was pissed she didn't "die" but rather went to an alternative reality. Looking forward to seeing more from her.
Anyway, I was hoping the "brother" thing was foreshadowing for the return of the Master and hopefully they can develop the "Doctor and Master are brothers" plot line they were never able to do in the past.
I liked the twist with the Judoon. I was expecting them to be villains, instead of "intergalactic police". All in all, looking forward to seeing more from this new series.
-
Just to be completeness in the geekery stakes the other two 2000ad refs were
Slabs: The term comes from Halo jones
The doctor shouts Sneck as the sonic screwdriver is destroyed which is a swearword used in several 2000ad series but most memorably in strontium dog
-
sooo, Shakespeare Code aired.
! Well, I must say, although not as good as Smith and Jones, this was a decent episode.
! Shakespeare: What can I say, I love this actor, (can't remember his name) he always manages to give so much depth into his characters, and I loved how he done Shakespeare, and I loved his final performance near the end.
! The Carronites: Pretty awesome enemy, not as cool as the Judoon, but better than the Plasmavores from last weeks, and that main one was soooooooooo cute….when she was her human self that is ;) I loved the idea of adding witchcraft into Doctor Who, something I can't remember happening before in the series.
! Sir Doctor of TARDIS: XD Loved this when it appeared in Tooth and Claw, and was a welcome addition, as usual Tennant was awesome, I loved the references to Back to the Future and Harry Potter, and his word play in this episode was so good, especially where he said them and then Shakespeare kept going 'oh, I'll have to steal that.' I wasn't keen on the Rose angst tho.
! Martha: Yup, I like her much more than Rose, easily, whereas Rose was thick through the whole thing, Martha actually interacts more intellegantly, actually believing things as they happen instead of giong 'nahhhhh its not real!'
! Plot: Pretty Standard plot really, made special by the lovely way it was set out, seemed to be like a Shakespearian play, a lil too Harry Potterish at times, but thats fine too lol.
! Also loved the Sycorax mention, as well as Queen Vic at the end (Could this mean a Queen Vic + Sycorax ep next year?)
! Next Ep: Gridlock: Now I AM looking forward to this one, if only for the Face of Boe's message, that and the fact that we are going to see inside New New York. -
Gridlock featuring the return of our fave cat faced nurses oh and the return of the face of boe wonder what that message will be…
By the by it was queen Elizabeth who appeared at the end causing the end of the ep to feel a bit blackaddery in my mind
-
actually, I think the only returning Cat is Novice Hame (since they are releasing a figure of her later in the year) It looks like she aint too pleased at being locked up neither lol. Then again, who would be?
The General feeling is that Boe's last words are going to be 'You are not Alone' or something (especially with the last episode being called 'The Last Timelord.') although people should note, when Boe dies the sky is supposed to crack open…
-
Doctor Who: The Twilight Kingdom
The blood of innocents has been spilt * a terrible sequence of events has been set in motion. The forces of darkness are on the move.
Deep underground, an army of light prepares itself for the oncoming war.
The Doctor's used to winning. Stumbling in, reading the face of the enemy, and then beating the odds but what if this time he's got it wrong? Charley and C'rizz think he has.
Stripped of all that is familiar, just who is the Doctor? Major Koth thinks he knows.
Lost among the dark caverns of an unknown world, has the Doctor finally met his match?
-
Doctor Who: And the Pirates (or the Lass that lost a Sailor)
All aboard, me hearties, for a rip-roaring tale of adventure on the high seas! There'll be rum for all and sea shanties galore as we travel back in time to join the valiant crew of the good ship Sea Eagle, braving perils, pirates and a peripatetic old sea-dog known only as the Doctor!
Gasp as our Gallifreyan buccaneer crosses swords with the fearsome Red Jasper, scourge of the seven seas and possessor of at least one wooden leg! Thrill as Evil Evelyn the Pirate Queen sets sail in search of buried treasure, with only a foppish ship's captain and an innocent young cabin boy by her side! Marvel at the melodious mayhem which ensues as we sail the ocean blue!
And wonder why Evelyn still hasn't realised that very few stories have happy endings…
-
For Omni-Chan <3
Doctor Who: Colditz.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=MWE59WC3
October 1944: As World War II draws towards its conclusion, a Nazi defeat begins to seem almost inevitable. But that might be about to change…
Two intruders are captured in the grounds of Colditz Castle, the most secure POW camp in Germany. At first, the guards think they're dealing with British spies. But the strangers arrived in an advanced travelling machine, the like of which they've never seen before.
With this TARDIS in their hands, the Third Reich might triumph after all.
-
Holy Shit, Gridlock so far is easily one of the best episodes of the NEW Doctor Who, read on as you'll find out about returning characters, Gallifrey, Boe's last message and other interesting tidbits.
! Well then, what an episode, pretty amazing I must say. So then, as we go.
! Martha Jones: As usual, she keeps on getting better and better, although she didn't appear much, although I love the way she acts around him, as if she doesn't know what he's thinking.
! Enemy: The Macra! Oh god, I practically orgasmed when they appeared again, granted not as great as their first appearence. Still lovely to see them appear once again, for those not in the know, the Macra appeared in the Patrick Troughton episode 'Terror of the Macra.' unfortunately the story itself is Lost In Time, but for those who still remember them, will practically cry when they see them return again.
! Gridlocked: Well, I did love how this was all done, with it all being so claustrophobic, I loved the first time when the Doctor walks out into the Motorway and looks around all coughing. And then his speech at the end, damn, sometimes I feel that they have Oda's knack for great speeches.
! Brannigan: Damn, loved this guy, although he should have been in a bit more. I loved the whole Cat Guy + Human Woman = Baby Kittens. Although I wasn't sure about the whole Doctor loving cats thing, especially since he comments in 'Fear Her' that he doesn't like cats. This is probably due to the story 'Survival' which is released on Monday (expect a whole review like this when I get it)
! Don't I know you: Well, we all know that Novice Hame returns, and is much better than before. I was expecting her to be an enemy this time around though, although I was suprisingly satisfied with her in this, trying her best for redemption, by helping the Face of Boe. Another one you may not have noticed, was the White Patient from New Earth, he was one of the people whom the Doctor met when at the Hospital in New Earth.
! The Creature that God Forgot: Or we know as the Face of Boe. Well, lovely to see him again. It was so awesome to see him helping the entire set of people. And of course, his message. 'Doctor, remember this. YOU ARE NOT ALONE.' granted, if you have been reading my posts, you already know about the Master apparently returning, it was just the way he said it, with his music playing in the background. (which I still think is one of the best musical scores made.) and then his message was so drawn out, and excellent.
! Gallifrey: I adored the episode's opening, with the Doctor talking about his homeworld, in awe of it, makes you wonder why he left it in the first place. And then at the end, where he says he lied, and tells Martha of how the Daleks and Time Lord fought, it was so amazingly cute.
! The Doctor: Well, I just loved the way he was portrayed as a 'lonely god' in this episode. For anyone who is just looking at this for interest, think Robin, alone for so long. And then somebody telling her that she isn't alone. That's EXACTLY the way this was done.
! Rugged Cross: Well, this was just upsetting for me, not because of the way it was done, but the exact song was done during my grandmother's funeral.
! Overall: Best Episode, rivalling Army of Ghosts/Doomsday/Girl in the Fireplace.
! Next Episode: 1930s New York, Big Lights, show Girls, Theatre, Pigmen….and DALEKS. -
agreed, I LOVED this episode, though with all the CGI, it kind of reminded me of "Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy". But still, it was great!
! thought the little kittens were so cute, especially when they said "mama", I melt in my seat at that moment! lol
! and also, funny thing at the start, where just as the episode was about to start, the BBC man said, "But first, here's the travel report", I could hear my brother shout "NNNNOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!" as he watched it in his room! hahaha -
yea lol, the travel report was purely hilarious, I mean, as soon as you see it you know that its Doctor Who lol, but when he said 'but first' it makes you annoyed lol.
-
So that hymn is real? I cried when they started to sing it it showed that despite the crappy situation those people were in they still had hope.
Next the evil pepperpots returneth!
Three more 2000ad references this week!
The holographic newsreporter is based off of a character in halo jones called swifty frisko
The motorway itself is similar to the terrortubes of termight in nemesis
The guy dressed in the pinstripe suit is so clearly based on max normal from judge dredd
-
I think it was actually said that he was based off the guy from Judge Dredd, same with the Gridlock itself. I remember on Confidential I think, RTD saying 'it's a Judge Dredd type of world.'
Something interesting I read about 'Evolution of the Daleks.' apparently
! Sec is reborn as a Human 0.o Shades of 'Cyberwoman' methinks?
-
Oh god if thats true the 2000ad board are going to be even more pissed off than usual
(I swear to god many of my fellow 2000ad message board member are really critical of doctor who)
-
ummmm….wasn't 2000ad one of the series that was INSPIRED by Doctor Who?
Anyways, some rumour I heard, in the Smith and Jones confidental music video, we see the Woman Showgirl kissing a man, apparently, this is supposed to be Dalek Sec's human form.
Edit: Anyone else seen the new Radio Times cover?
-
It was definitely my favourite episode of the new series, even though Brannigan could've been in it more. He'd make an excellent companion for the Doctor. And as soon as I saw the look on the Doctor's face after the Face of Boe told him his secret, I knew exactly who was coming back.
Dalek Sec Human Form? It does explain that woman's behaviour in the trailer at the end of Gridlock. Do you reckon the pigmen are failed attempts at the Human Forms?
-
yea, I think they experimented on combining pigs with humen before Daleks, thats my guess anyways.
-
Doctor Who: Nocturne.
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=BNEHES4T
On the human colony planet Nocturne, there is suffering and blight, tragic symptoms of an ages-old war. Never the less, Nocturne is also one of the Doctor's favourite places in all of time and space, because it is here that a late, great flowering of human art - the High Renaissance - is taking place.
He has been back here, many times. It is a place of music and art which he finds inspirational and uplifting. It is a place he wants to share with Ace and Hex. It's always been a safe haven for him, a world of friends and laughter.
But with strict Martial Law imposed on the front-line city, and the brutal scourge of interstellar warfare vicing the system, how safe can anyone really be?
There is a note of death in the wild, midnight wind…
-
Read into some stuffs for tonight episode, and bought the new Radio Times (for a cover that awesome, you HAVE to get it) anywho, MAJOR Spoilers:
! The Dalek-Human is apparently Dalek-Sec Hybrid. It will be revealed at the end of the episode.
! The Pig-men are the new series version of the Robomen and Orgons, slaves used for the Daleks bidding.
! There are only four Daleks left, Sec and Caan are two of them, I'm guessing the other two are Jast and Thay, although as you can see from my avi, looks like there is gonna be a new Dalek Supreme (the bumps are white, although its too dark to tell if its Black or Grey)
! The Daleks are far more cleverer and sinister than in the past two series,
! The Showgirl is in love with Laszlo, whom is played by Ryan Carnes (from Desperate Housewives apparently) Lazlo is turned into a Pigman. Also picked up a load of other things, got the Stickerbook, about 10 packets of stickers (only 1 swap out of the lot) also picked up Survival, which is awesome, and creepy, Cat People all over XD
Also got the three new books: Sting of the Zygons, Wooden Heart and Last Dodo, all three of which feature the Doctor and Martha, and hell! Zygons! Zygons were always awesome! Great to see em again.
-
poor Lazlo why do I have a bad feeling he is going to be dead next week also things don't look good for hooverville either
-
I said it before and I'll say it again, the writers of Doctor Who HATE Americans. Although, this weeks ep I dunno about, it suffers the same as Rise of the Cybermen did, having a long boring intro. Least Cybermen had more interesting characters, instead of bad accents. (Remember folks, this is how the yanks speak: FACT)
-
lol thank god they actually got scottish actors in for last years tooth and claw that och aye the noo crap gets old when done in american shows.
-
Just watched Totally Doctor Who (finally was in early enough to watch it XD) and from the looks of things Lazlo will either die or kill the Dalek Sec Mutant, um, also Dalek Sec Mutant picks up the radio thing (that the Doctor was playing around with earlier in the episodes) and looks at it funny, damn, if this ends up being another 'yar! Human Emotion will save us all!' thing I'll scream.
Also, I'm starting to wonder if we may be hearing more about the time war in the next ep. In the preview, the writer of the two eps drew a picture of a lightning bolt, which I took to be 'The Oncoming Storm.' oh well, roll on 25 hours time lol
-
Actually if you looked at Lazlos face during that clip there was definatly a "I'm gonna betray them" look on his face
