Speaking of missing characters, what about Smoke or whatever he is being called now?
Mortal Kombat 11

I love Kitana, and I love Mileena, and this entire thing is hilarious to me.
What I love is that after all these years someone at Neatherrealm basically decided that Kitana should be asian after years of being hispanic
but hey if Bai Ling can play Jade in Annihilation why not :ninja: -

Did you guys knew Shao-Kahn is a pre-order?
-
his move list is…so basic?
-
Shao Kahn is a basic bitch. Taunt, throw spear, taunt, shoulder shove, taunt, taunt, that's it he's getting his mallet, taunt, win.
-
his move list is…so basic?
Yeah it's almost like it stepped out of 1993 fighting video game.
-
I honestly only remember him shouldering me 10 times in a row - with the taunts mixed in - before I died uselessly, so this moveset actually looks like super varied to me.
-
Sure, let's mix Sektor and Cyrax in there because why not?
-
Damn it, I love that song.
-
Fuck, I've missed that song. It's still so damn good.
Sure, let's mix Sektor and Cyrax in there because why not?
There's a plot reason they are in there. They are related to a certain character.
! Frost is the final secret character in the game, and she has been cyberized by Kronika and the Lin Kuei.
-
I feel bad for Cyrax. The new timeline hasn't been kind to him at all. Now he's just Sektor's voiceless sidekick.
-
To think, Cyrax once had a redemption arc.
-
Well,
! There's always the new timeline that's just been made…....

How come the brother doesn't get any lines?

! I say the next game be the tournament where T.G. Kung Lao lost against Goro….only things are a bit different this time!
-
Yeah it's almost like it stepped out of 1993 fighting video game.
uh? he was playable in Deception, and had a whole move list in Vs Dc Universe and MK 2011…so what's your point exactly? Or you think you're cute or something...?

Joke was that his moveset is mostly the same as his moveset from Mortal Kombat 2 and Mortal Kombat 3 minus him permanently wielding his hammer.

Scoprion's Tower Ending has some implications about the future:
! Kronika is a Titan, those who proceeded the Elder Gods, and apparently cause all this conflict for their own purposes/desires.

! All we need is one of them to be voiced by John De Lancie and everything will be all set:ninja:

Holy shit. She is just a head.

That fatality though .

Nothing in that Story Mode made a modicum of sense whatsoever. I mean, it's not that MKX plot was well written or anything, but man, pretty much everything was beyond the suspense of disbelief.
That said, everything also looked so beautifully presented I didn't care too much if the writing was terrible and overall enjoyed the +3 hours of of plot.
-
^ You want a story with time travel to make complete sense.
But damn the spoilers are out there like hell.
-
That's the problem and the blessing of Mortal Kombat's plot in general. It goes all over the fucking place, but man, do I love these characters.
-
I think they need to change the story mode set-up. It's been about the same since MKVSDC.
Also, apparently, about 8 DLC characters have been leaked:
! MK: Sindel, Sheeva, Fujin, Nightwolf
Guests: Ash Williams, The Terminator, Spawn, The JokerOf course, in addition to Shang Tsung.

…..Wow that first group is.......belated and redundant.

[hide]DLC including every playable MK3 character hero that remains…
Except the one I want more than anyone...

Personally, this would be my DLC lineup, if it's 6 per Pack:
Pack 1:
1. Ferra/Torr
2. Kung Jin
3. Reptile
4. Shang Tsung
5. Sheeva
6. TakedaPack 2:
1. Fujin
2. Kano's Son from his MKX ending
3. Mileena
4. Shinnok
5. Sindel
6. Smoke -
I suppose the 6 from the first pack are among the 9 datamined. Having extra 3 would make sense to complete a second pack, but it would be weird for them to have a part of the second pack already path'd on the game while the other isn't (btw, I wonder why they keep calling the characters by their names or abbreviations - like in Smash. -, just specify numbers to the characters and you'll solve this whole datamining thing that's been leaking shit out of every game since ever).
Btw, still didn't bought the game, but spent the last night on a friend's trying it out. It is really fun, the game also looks beautiful, had a great time… but the excessive customization can put out more casual players. The lack of proper Variations readily available for play (you only have 2 built in for you and they don't come even close to covering all the abilities the characters can use) means that you need to customize every character before using them... something you can't even do on the selection scene, so you can only imagine how preparing to play goes like when you go to a friend's... expect a good half hour of people watching the others tuning in the fighters.
I assume when you have your your builds save on your profile, you can access them on a friend's console when you log there, this would cut down the time in preparation later, but still looks as a too damn roundabout way to play instead of just turning the game on and fucking playing it. -
Been playing the game off and on over the week (pre-ordered for PS4 as my tax return splurge) and have been enjoying it. So far I think Jade is my favorite character to play as, followed by Jacqui and Kabal.
Haven't been too serious with progression yet. Just messing around with story mode (currently on chapter 5 of 12), some Klassic Towers, and local matches with my roommates and friends.
-
Almost 30 hours of playing it (offline), over 770 matches with D'vorah (never the mentality of having a main has affected me this much. I didn't even touched the rest of the roster), "finished" the Kypt around the same time I rounded up all 5 stages of her character towers… and then I finally started feeling like burned out.
Then I encouraged myself to try a different character and I got myself back instantly. Hey, Frost!
-
So then, the first Kombat Pack is:
**Shang Tsung
**Nightwolf
**Sindel
**Spawn
**Ash Williams
**The Terminator -
Poor Rain, Ermac, Smoke, and Reptile fans…
-
@S.C.:
**Ash Williams
**The TerminatorHave these two been confirmed separately? The Shang Tsung trailer only names the first four.
-

Both were in the DLC leaks and in the above trailer, you can hear a chainsaw and the Terminator's music motif at the end.

So, this is new:
Sindel is the former Queen of Edenia and will stop at nothing to keep her place. Threatened with the loss of her throne when Shao Kahn conquered her realm, Sindel betrayed her husband, and her people, to keep her privileged position. Now, as Shao Kahn's wife and Queen of Outworld, she enjoys power and wealth beyond most people's imagination.
They've retconned Sindel into being always evil, apparently.

Freaking ew. Between this and Kabal completely forgetting being a cop with Stryker, I feel like the writers don't know what they want for each character.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
And that doesn't make any sense! Sindel sacrificed herself so that Shao Kahn couldn't conquer Earthrealm by normal means, so I'm just to assume she was evil until Shao Kahn was like, "Yeah, Earthrealm is next."
If they wanted to continue with evil Sindel, just keep her as a Revenant.
-

Kabal is at least explainable with timeline shenanigans. Either he's from a timeline where Kabal never turned or was simply from further back than when he was a cop with Stryker. He was pre-scars either way.
Sindel could be the same. I'm inclined to see how she's done in-game before any judgment calls. Still, it's not that hard to retcon past Sindel with this. If what she wants is power, and the good guys are united against Shao Khan, then fighting with them is the best way to do that.
Our of curiosity, did she ever have any speaking roles, outside of game lore and endings, in games before mk9?

That part I forgot about. Maybe that means this won't be our Sindel after all.
-
This is why you don't mess with time travel/alternate timelines, kids.

Welcome to MK where allegiances change as often the cycles of the moon.
-
The only person who has ever had that issue in the past was Kabal, as he was good in MK3 and had a heel turn in Deception. Granted, you had the Revenant situation, but that was understandable as Noob Saibot was already a concept. But for Sindel, the very reason for the plot of Mortal Kombat 1-3 happened, to suddenly have that entire thing erased is just lazy. Especially when you have an easy way to make Sindel evil: She's a Revenant.
-
Aren't the Revenants now evil by choice now though?
-

Honestly, we're not entirely sure. According to Scorpion, being possessed by the darkness of the Netherrealm brings out your inner darkness. Jax was about as angry as every other Revenant when he was one, but upon being restored, he was fine.
But then again, it becomes a question of whether or not Shinnok and/or Quan Chi had an influence on them, but now are they free from that and are just freely bitter?

Well considering the circumstances of how almost every one of the characters that became Revanants died, I would think so. Well barring Sindel who doesn't deserve to be bitter as a revenant given all the havoc she wreaked before died.
-
Okay… So, reading into the dialogues of Sindel which were scripted and left on the Switch version, this is what we know.
[hide]Take note that Sindel is supposed to be super duper evil now.
1. Sindel never loved Jerrod, and was happy to assist Shao Kahn in the destruction of Edenia.
2. Sindel was convinced by Quan Chi to create a barrier protecting Earthrealm from invasion. (Again, super evil)
3. Quan Chi kills Sindel, and convinces everyone that it was a suicide.
4. Shao Kahn cannot conquer Earthrealm by normal means, and must now rely on Mortal Kombat.
5. This benefits Quan Chi and Shinnok, because Earthrealm would make Shao Kahn strong enough to defeat Shinnok.
6. Yet… They sit back and watch Shao Kahn win every single tournament except for the very last one, which they didn't even mess with the tournament to benefit Earthrealm winning. Instead, they just risked letting Shao Kahn win and conquer Earthrealm.
7. Quan Chi revives Sindel and convinces her that she was a good person, but convinces her that she is evil when she was originally evil and than Quan Chi never killed her and it was suicide.Sure. Why not.[/hide]

Thank the Elder Gods they're wiping the slate clean because they totally lost themselves on some things.
