Wow…. Simply amazing .
A while ago my mom and I visited Louisiana (Denmark) so we could look at an exhibition of Yayoi Kusama's art. I had never heard of her before and had no idea what to expect when we arrived.
It was a very strange experience. I don't like her art from a personal standpoint, but from an artistic one it was a very inspiring experience. The sheer amount of patience, the understanding of form and shape, and the entire ideology and thoughts behind the artworks was amazing. If she ever does another exhibition in the vicinity I'll visit again.
The Infinity Room
Easily the best part of the exhibition. It seems she's done several exhibitions with this one.
basically what happens is that 1-4 people walk into a room with a small platform. There's mirrors and water all around you, creating a massive, endless illusion. It was very tranquil, and allowed you to get away form the loud crowds outside while also being more easy on the eyes compared to the rest of the exhibition.

And of course there were some less impressive things, but that's my opinion. She had a lot of sculptures and paintings, but I can't find any good pictures.

Yayoi Kusama is brilliant! You are so lucky to have seen her art up close!
I love the piano room:wub:
Also the infinity room somehow reminds me of the liquor store in Birdman, which i recently watched.
Talking about alcohol:

I went to see this recently in Berlin at sunset - it's James Turrell's permanent exhibition in a cemetery. Definitely worth checking out if you're ever nearby!
