"Hey guys, RiotJag here to tell you about the Zeke’s Herald update coming to PBE soon.
Zeke’s Herald on Live is an item that you can buy as a support, fighter, or tank if you really wanted to enhance the offensive power of your teammates. However, the range of champions that it is useful on was small, and the effect was not nearly as satisfying as it was powerful, leading to very few players purchasing it in the shop. The Black Cleaver update has done a great job of giving tanky champions a way to add offensive utility for their team, so we wanted to look at what supports could do in this realm. And because supports frequently play around the high value squishies on their team (AD or AP carries), we felt we could do something a little more unique for them.
Recipe Change: Glacial Shroud + Amplifying Tome + Amplifying Tome
Total Cost: 2300 G
+250 Mana
+35 Armor
+50 Ability Power
+10% Cooldown ReductionUNIQUE Active - Conduit: Bind to target ally. This will remove all other Conduits on your target (60 second cooldown).
UNIQUE Passive: When within 1000 units of each other, you and your ally generate Charges. Attacking or casting spells generates extra Charges. At 100 Charges, causing damage consumes them, increasing you and your ally's Ability Power by 20% and Critical Strike Chance by 50% for 6 seconds.
The new Zeke’s Herald is a Duo Queue’s dream. A support will buy this item and then use the active to select their teammate who will drop the biggest hurt on the enemy. As long as they stay in range and work with the ally they’ve selected, they’ll build up to a proc that infuse the pair with an extreme amount of power. During this window, if the enemy team isn’t paying attention, they’ll pay the price (yes, that really is 50% Crit and 20% AP)!
Grab a partner and get on PBE to hit us with any and all feedback, whether it’s about the gameplay of the item or if it’s the VFX. And be warned, if you’re in one of those games where you have no idea what your ADC is doing in lane, this probably isn’t the item to buy!"

As anyone ever had problems with the client before?
Mine keeps giving me DCed messages everytime. While I haven´t tried to reinstall (will do later), it was ok before some weeks ago, after some patch.
I can play, but because of it sometimes the client doesn´t immediatly launchs the game and makes me get into the games late because I have to restart the whole thing. -
Over time, I've found that patches can simply mess up this game no matter what you do. If you've done everything you know to fix it (reinstall or the repair option[found by pressing the cog]) then sadly you just have to wait for Riot to catch up to you. I'm still looking forward to them fixing the NA servers constant DCs. I'm not quite complaining, I'm just pointing out that you can't control all these issues, and that's an example.
Also, they nerfed my Nautilus and I'm not sure he deserved it. He had it good for a awhile, but I fear the fun time are over…

I´ve been playing for a long time and this is the first time one patch managed to screw up my game so much (or the client).
I´ll try to reinstall on the weekend.Nautilus has been used quite a lot lately in competitive play. Usually champs get nerfed in these situations.
I won´t even talk about the constant destructions of Jarvan pretty much every 3 patches since season 3.
Plus, the nerfs to Naut don´t seem so bad... -

- For reference, you gain ~1 charge per second while near each other and ~4 charges for attacks.

Whats the deal behind this change? Is her damage now lower, or higher, and why do such a weird change? -
I think the implication is that they nerfed her auto attacks, but her abilities have been buffed.
Whatever AD she has will be fully utilized for her spells, but it will only use 90% for her auto attacks.

"Hey all, last week we ran a survey where we asked players questions around how they would feel about adding chromas to victorious skins based on tier achievement and selling the non-chroma versions. I want to reassure everybody we aren't going to sell the victorious skin. We may or may not do chromas for tiers, that's still TBD. This is a good opportunity to talk about why we run surveys like this. Pretty much everybody at Riot is an active league player. In the past, we used Traditional skins as a way of allowing players to represent the older merits of a character that we may have glazed over during the creation process. We weren't always confident in what we were shipping, and in extreme cases, necessitated a traditional skin to execute on them in a way they should have been done. This is shown to an extreme in the case of Karma's fans, something that we know we could have done better. The team has been doing updates for two years or so now, and we have a bit more moxie as to how this whole rodeo goes. We feel we're able to better respect the old, while pushing the bar as hard as we can. We didn't up and change Sion from an undead to a frozen warrior. He's still the same exact fantasy he was before, just executed in a way that he was originally meant to be. If the team as it is now existed in the past, there are mistakes that we wouldn't have repeated. Karma wouldn't have lacked her fans. Trundle would have better enveloped the 'leper jesus' he was so affectionately known for. Sejuani would have just realized that a bikini wasn't appropriate snow wear. These are things that could be fixed in the future, but we prefer to continue moving forward, as there are still a large amount of characters that need some love coughpoppycoughevecough. Essentially, **we don't feel like traditional skins are the correct answer- the only way to show our love for older content**. We still push for constant and continuous improvement in our updates, but we want to do so in a way that best shows respect for older content as a whole package. Gangplank Update Discussion
With Gangplank's champion update announced and now on the PBE, several Rioters gathered on the boards and reddit to discuss the new Saltwater Scourge!When asked if Gangplank's new Trial By Fire passive works on towers, Scruffy noted:
- "The passive works on towers too. GP burns cities to the ground."
He also commented that, as the tooltip notes, GP's Q does NOT proc his new passive.
- "Q does not apply the passive (it's sword attacks only) but it still applies other melee effects like tiamat or melee iceborn gauntlet proc."
He also confirmed you are intended to use Q to detonate his new E powder kegs :
- "Oh you can DEFINITELY Q the powder keg. This is basically the point. If the barrel kills multiple minions when you Q, you get parrrley gold for all of them. BANK"
As for how long they last, Scruffy commented:
- "Barrels last for a really long time (like a minute or something) and there's no limit to how many you can place. It's mostly gated by a charge system (like corki R)."
Solcrushed added:
- "They expire after 1 minute, also barrels don't stack damage so you cant do Teemo stuff. We want you to play dominoes not minesweeper/On the flip side, barrels have 0 cd (although they have a cast time) so as long as you have ammo you are free to use them anyway you see fit"
As for why Gangplank's R doesn't detonate his E kegs, Solcrushed shared:
"1. This takes away from the high-reward high-counterplay paradigm we have set up for the E since it makes them unavoidable inside the R. With the end result being GP players are less engaged in the keg gameplay and will just use them as R damage fodder
2. Since the E hitting will be more or less guaranteed against targets inside the R, we will need to nerf base R numbers to compensate, which leads to the actual unique use case of the spell (global firepower support) becoming much weaker
3. It makes GP AD Teemo, we already have Teemo"
Statikk also chimed in with his own power keg full of Gangplank tidbits:

Turns out I have a PBE account! =O
- Powder Kegs can crit…I know we're insane.
- Parrrley does NOT proc Trial By Fire (his passive) - only his melee attacks will. This allowed us to make the passive attacks really strong and make it rewarding for Gangplank to close into melee. Parrrley can be used to destroy Powder Kegs - in fact it's probably the primary way to proc them. Yes, you get all the gold from all minions killed by a Parrrley'd Powder Keg.
- Powder Kegs grant very, very minimal vision.
- Powder Kegs over walls do chain.
- The max amount of Kegs is based on his R rank. It goes from 2-5.
- There is no max limit. Only limited by its 60 second duration and your CDR. =)
- 500 Silver Serpents per upgrade.
- The Cannon Barrage upgrades are buffs like consumables but permanent. They don't crowd his inventory.
- The DoT will be refreshed in this case, though the DoT is a pretty short duration so overlapping them is pretty tough.

Ezreal PBE changes being pulled & Lucian on Radar
Following the 7/9 PBE update, Scarizard hopped on reddit to note that the Ezreal Q/R AP ratio changes seen in the update will be pulled from the PBE shortly.
"The changes you see here are already being pulled - we're looking to see how the Runeglaive changes impact AP Ezreal's dominance as of right now. As it stands, the proposed changes here didn't really align with our goals for the future and so we're poppin' em out.
We're talking about changes for Ezreal in a future patch, but the intent wouldn't be to nerf him or dramatically change his power - we think 'botlane' ezreal's been pretty weak for a while and want to find some improvements to him there specifically."He continued:

AP Ezreal has been fine for years with very clear early game weakness'. With the changes to runeglaive only proccing on monsters, these early weakness' are back. I'm glad you guys didn't kneejerk nerf multiple aspects of the champion like in the past.
I do hope that the future changes to buff bot lane Ezreal aren't at expense of pigeon-holing him out of the midlane though.We agree. If somehow AP Ezreal perseveres without these weaknesses that'll be a different conversation, but we'd like to understand the problem space a little better.
As for Bot vs Mid - the goal isn't to boot him out of mid, but pre-glaive any Ezreal play was solely in midlane. Allowing him the ability to be played as a botlaner without putting yourself at a disadvantage is what we're going for here, not 'pigeon-holing'.
He continued:
"Essence Flux is a big focus for us in the future. Whether or not it's in the next round i can't say, but making it feel like a 'real' ability is something we want to do."
Speaking of marksmen feeling a bit on the weak side, Scarizard also briefly commented on the status of Lucian, saying:

**On 5.13 Slow Changes** In a thread discussing the patch 5.13 changes to slow stacking and the impact of that change on champions with slows who wish to purchase Iceborn Gauntlet or Rylai's Crystal Scepter, **Meddler** [noted](http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/Xtuj4g0j-so-did-riot-just-kill-iceborn-gauntlet-for-anyone-with-a-built-in-slow?comment=0009): "Removing stacking slows will make Iceborn Gauntlet, Rylai's, Red buff etc less valuable on champions that already have slows on their kits. It also somewhat reduces the value of having multiple champions with frequent slows on the same team. We believe it's a good change for the game though in large part because slows most affect champions without dashes/blinks/leaps. We'd like to help those immobile champs out a bit, reduce some of the power discrepancy between dash/no dash. As far as champs like Trundle go we still expect Iceborn Gauntlet to be a decent option. His Q slow has a really short duration, so the overlap period is brief, while his E slow's got a pretty limited radius. It's not as valuable a pick up as it was, but should still be viable. Additionally, as a melee champ very dependent on his own movement speed, we also expect Trundle to be one of the more noticeable beneficiaries of this change, in terms of what he has to deal with from the enemy team."
I'm enjoying the changes of the AP items and the junglers items too (well, those are a bit tricky for me, for example the new AP jungle item, you have to build sheen, making Lich Bane pointless.)
Just like the tank jungle item and the Sunfire Cape.

After playing a lot of games with Lissandra, I came to a conclusion that she needs a new passive, her current passive is great for early game (maybe mid game), but horrible for late game.
I remember a concept for a new passive, something with a shield based on the number of CC that she inflicts on the enemy. How about that ? I think this would work well with her, I know, she would lose the mana management in the early game, but her passive would have a significant presence all game.

More to come on Tahm Kench In a boards thread inquiring about Tahm Kench's short in-client bio and it leaving readers less than satisfied after The River King and the Q&A answers, Jaredan noted that there is still more to come:
"The short character intro that you see in-client is not Tahm's complete bio. He will have an additional background and story text, though it will be a little off the beaten path due to his folklore nature.
I'll be writing something more substantive about the thinking behind the new format closer to when we show some examples before the end of the month." Also worth noting is that Tahm Kench's champion page is up on the LoL site and interestingly enough it lists that Aatrox is his friend and that almost all of the yordles plus Fizz as his rivals. -
I stoped expecting story for the champions a long time ago, and I'm still dissapointed. He looks and sounds cool though.

Rogue Admiral Garen W now properly changes his shoulder's color for the duration of the effect.
Cutpurse Twisted Fate
Since he has no hat, Cutpurse Twisted Fate's /joke and recall have been tweaked slightly and Twisted Fate now pulls a card out instead of grabbing on to his hat.

It's been a weird few weeks in this game. Jungle items are being used in lane, champions are disabled, and now ranked it disabled. What a troublesome patch!
Meanwhile, I'm looking forward to Tham's IP price reduction. I assume that's tomorrow? I never pay attention to these things but I believe the rule is they get reduced a week after release.

Hey folks - we've been triaging this issue intensely since it cropped up and wanted to give you a quick update.
This bug has the potential to affect every champion if used deliberately, though some are easier to pull it off with than others. Rather than disable the worst offenders, we've disabled ranked play completely until we can get a fix live. Competitive integrity is key to ranked play, so we don't want to entertain the possibility of this being exploited. We're going to leave normal queue intact with all champions enabled in the meantime.
With that note: play at your own risk as it is possible you will see players exploit this issue and be able to instantly recall to base. No other abuse cases are known at this time. We will have devs working on this non-stop until it's resolved, and will keep you updated.

In terms of overall art changes also worth clarifying Fiora won't be a complete overhaul. **Lyte on Team Builder Draft** [hide]Lyte has been busy on reddit and ask.fm discussing the upcoming **Team Builder Draft** feature. To start us off, here's **Lyte**'s [initial response](https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/3dthtl/team_builder_is_underrated) on **Team Builder Draft**, a mode currently in development: "We'll be the first to admit that Team Builder "Classic" solves a lot of problems, but also has a few major issues that we've solved in the new Team Builder Draft experience. For context, Team Builder "Classic," reduced reports by about 26%, increased honors by about 18%, and reduced negative/toxic chat by about 36% in wins, and 23% in losses. It also reduced leavers/AFKs by about 8-10%, I don't remember that one off top of my head. One of our primary goals in Team Builder Draft is to retain some of the benefits above in the design of the system, but invest heavily in solving the queue time issues and improving the matchmaking quality. We've also invested in the actual UI work so that it's much faster to setup your team, play with friends and get into the game. So far in testing where we bring players into Riot HQ to test Team Builder Draft, we've seen the vast majority of players prefer the experience over every other queue experience. So for now, we're not going to encourage players to funnel into Team Builder "Classic," and we're going to see if Team Builder Draft is popular enough that it becomes the dominant Champion Select experience. Happy to answer questions about Team Builder Draft in this thread." We also have a few ideas to reward players for mastering multiple positions. If you want to be more tactical in Champion Select, you can still trade champions and pick for others first, etc." As for when we might see Team Builder Draft hit live, **Lyte** [noted](http://ask.fm/RiotLyte/answer/130899603906): "We're doing everything we can to get it on PBE first, no expected launch dates on a real server yet. We're super excited about it too since most of us on the team prefer playing Ranked this way now." We haven't decided how we're going to do this with Team Builder Draft yet, and of course it's a bit different because we're only having players choose Position before entering the new Champion Select." When asked about the possibility of a "Vote Kick" or "Vote Dodge" type feature, **Lyte** [explained](http://ask.fm/RiotLyte/answer/130888520642): "Quote: _How would you argue against a feature that leaves champ select if 4 out of 5 players vote to dodge? Would it not have the same value as a 20 minute surrender vote in-game?_ We played around with a few "Vote Kick" designs before, and the results were surprising. First, let's assume the design is a simple: players in Champion Select can vote to kick a player, and you need 4 out of 5 votes to proceed. Immediately, we saw the behaviors change in Champion Select. One, players began using the "Vote Kick" feature when they didn't like a particular team comp, when they felt like the Captain didn't ban the appropriate champions, when players played off-meta champions, and sometimes when they felt the opposing team comp was better than theirs. This dramatically increases the amount of time it takes to get through a Champion Select and into the game as many Champion Selects fail out and you have to start over, and then players will complain about it taking 15-20 minutes to actually get through a Champion Select and load into a match. Now to play one game, you need anywhere from 1 hour to 1.5 hours of free time, which was way too high of a time commitment. Secondly, some scenarios with Duo Queues became even more frustrating, because if a Duo Queue group was being negative in Champion Select you still had nothing you could do to resolve it, and the situations felt even worse than before. Some additional designs would be to give every player only 1 "Vote Kick" per day, but just giving 1 vote to every player increased failed Champion Selects by ~20%, which means that you're now going through multiple Champion Selects just to get into a game. We also reduced the penalty for queue dodging before, which would make it "less painful" for players to queue dodge if they absolutely had to, but this increased failed Champion Selects by about ~30%, and again players started complaining about failed Champion Selects and taking too long to get into a game. We think that Team Builder Draft will ultimately solve Champion Select issues better than most other features or systems, so we decided to work on that system first because it also solves a bunch of other problem spaces such as better retention and onboarding for low level players and giving players more control over their Champion Select experience. If Team Builder Draft does not improve Champion Select enough, we have some ideas ready to go such as allowing players to report when someone doesn't play the position they specified, or allowing players to give us a reason (and specify a player) if they choose to queue dodge." **Lyte** has also been very active on his recently created l[ast.fm page](http://ask.fm/RiotLyte), answering all sort of questions related to the player behavior team, features, and more. We have talked a lot about whether Morde should have some CC or more mobility. We concluded however that his lack of those tools was pretty definitional to his playstyle and an opportunity to potentially give him some effects we wouldn't be able to do on a more mobile champion (in the same way that Nasus for example's only allowed to have his stacking Q because he has trouble getting onto the targets he really wants). Time wise within a month or two we should either be ready to talk about those changes in detail or be ready to say they didn't work out and we've scrapped them. Worth noting that if we do them they'll be very gameplay driven, so would only include visual changes as needed to support ability modifications. We would love to give Morde a visual upgrade in general, but have other champs that are before him in line for full overhauls." This time we're putting a solid amount of time aside for both experimentation and testing, so feel it's worth taking another swing at that direction." For what it's worth I'm very confident we'll be either talking through the details of Morde's changes or telling people they're not happening within at most a couple of months." We would like to do some work on WW someday, there are a lot of other champions we feel are higher priority though. We'd want to redo some of the rework as a result, rather than just picking up from where it was. Who posts where depends on personal preference quite a bit. I tend to favour Boards a bit more myself, others like ZenonTheStoic seem to have a liking for diving into Reddit threads by contrast, with some Boards posting mixed in on the side." We did a lot exploration on Poppy and are happy with what we've got. She's currently in the art production pipeline as her kit has been locked for some time. Now it's a matter of time and the technical work of getting that new character to live in game. "Bad" news: Poppy is shipping with a complete kit overhaul which will retain the spirit of Poppy, and utilize some signature abilities, but will probably vary pretty significantly than current Poppy. Think of the same way which we wanted to retain the "feeling" of Sion while keeping virtually nothing of his existing kit. I'e played her, and she's really, really fun. I think players old and new will find a home with her. I think that's what's going to bring her into a place where she'll be loved by passionate players but also new players alike. So shipping the visual update probably isn't going to turn people onto existing, present-day Poppy as much as it will excite people to try what is fundamentally a brand new character which takes what we love about Poppy, amplifies it, and makes her more cohesive. Our goal on ChampUP is to excite enthusiasts, to get at what the real and visceral emotional attachments that bind them to a character and hone them, making that feeling more clear, maybe even stronger. "Compared to a few of our recent updates, we launched Fiora pretty darn recently. Still, she’s one of them tricksy melee marksmen/fighter types who was supposed to be a fleet-footed fencing duelist, but who, once she had a few items, could just lunge up to the other team’s squishies and smack ‘em for a quick and easy - and unstoppable - kill. That was her single gear, really, and because Fiora was only good at killing, when she didn't have the damage to do her single job, she couldn’t do much of anything.
Changes were needed, so we added in non-damaging tools to help Fiora and her team, then balanced that out by reducing some of the undodgeable killing power in her kit. She’s still all about outplaying her opponents, but now has the tools she needs to play from behind or help her team out in ways that don’t involve straight up slaughter. Voila, or whatever. Here’s her new kit:

Fiora identifies the weak spots - or vitals - in the defenses of all enemy champions she comes close to. If she manages to attack her enemy’s weak spot, Fiora deals extra true damage for that attack while gaining a small heal and short boost of speed. R: Grand Challenge
Fiora targets an enemy champion, gaining speed and full knowledge of their vitals. Each time she destroys a weak spot, she deals percent max health true damage. If she’s able to destroy all four weak spots, or if she destroys at least one before her target dies, Fiora creates a large and long-lasting zone under her enemy that heals Fiora and her allied champions.Video**:**
With the update, Fiora’s trading raw damage for extra survivability and utility, making her more of a skirmishing duelist and less of an assassin. We switched her passive entirely, bringing her a new “attack the weak spot” minigame that requires smart planning, position, and execution. But hitting an enemy where they don’t want to be hit is hard, so we gave Lunge the free aiming Fiora needs to dart around without just getting to her enemy. Now she can lunge through targets (or to the side of one) all so she can then attack the enemy’s weak spot, deal a chunk of extra damage, and retreat safely with her small speed boost.
Fiora Splash Art Next up is her W. The old Riposte was exceptionally binary - if your opponent has a basic attack, hit W, if not, don’t - and featured a ton of invisible passively gained pain. New Fiora loses the passive entirely, and gains a whole load of extra defensive options. Even though it doesn’t last long, Riposte negates all incoming damage, meaning Fiora players with catlike reflexes can nullify huge amounts of burst from approaching assassins, or executes from other fighters like Darius and Garen. Riposte’s attack makes for a smart follow up, giving Fiora the chance to close range and attack more weak spots, particularly if she parried enemy crowd control. Bladework mirrors Fiora’s old E, but again helps the Grand Duelist maneuver into positions where she can attack her enemy’s weaknesses.
Last but not least, let’s talk about her ultimate! Blade Waltz was a hugely impactful ability that dealt a crap load of damage, and while it showcased Fiora’s fantasy of a nimble-footed sword-wielding killer, all you had to do to pull the move off was headbutt your R key. In other words, the mechanics didn't match the fantasy of a skill-based and nimble duelist. Grand Challenge is obviously totally different, and is designed to give Fiora players - and her target - this genuine sense of a real time duel, with Fiora moving around looking to destroy the four weak spots, and her opponent looking to defend them. The rewards, if she pulls them off, are impressive. Aside from the increasing amounts of true damage she deals, the heal will often give Fiora and her team the sustain they need to overpower their enemies and win the fight.
The TL;DR of the changes is that we wanted to better execute on the fantasy of a duelist, someone who wins through smarts and mechanical ability rather than brute numbers. Old Fiora had some aspects of that, but ultimately her best play pattern involved double lunging until she was face-to-face with a horrified enemy squishy, then hitting the R key. Riposte and Burst of Speed both had someelements of dueling that we liked, but again… we just wanted to do it better. That’s why we’ve echoed - rather than replaced - most of her old abilities with her new moves.[/hide]

So, if Blitz somehow manages to both Q her and E her while she's in W, neither will take effect. In addition, displacement effects like knockups, knockbacks, or even tahm kench's devour have no effect while she's blocking, so if Lee Sin hit's her with R, she won't budge." We really wanted to create some cerebral play as well as some mechanical play. In fact, in many cases cerebral play is required. For example, when Warwick is coming to gank Fiora, Fiora can't re-actively block his R, but she can try to mind game him by casting the block right before she expects him to ult. It gets even deeper in other scenarios, such as when Jax is using his E – the Jax needs to guess when Fiora's going to block, and Fiora needs to predict when Jax is going to stun. Lastly, many champion's key CCs have telegraphs, which should curb this 'super-twitch-reactive' element. Blocking Cho Gath's Q for example, is much less stressful than blocking Irelia's E. The hope is that these various uses will allow most Fiora players to succeed with 'Riposte' even without incredible reflexes. To explain, when we asked the question "when compared to master yi, what does fiora bring different to the team?" We were looking for something outside of just pure dps that she could offer. The theme is that when she can successfully 'duel' that target the team gets a pretty strong, almost "fight reset," level heal." In testing we tried a BUNCH of different reward types (damage buffs, speed, cooldowns etc) for her winning the duel, and we found that there were a few reasons why this one stuck as the most useful and fitting. -By the time she gets to that hard earned 4th proc, she is usually desperately in need of some heals (being a squishy melee carry) -The "fight reset" elements of it give her this great "one down, who's next?" feeling -Too much immediate reward makes her into a snowball champ like katarina, so the reward is given over time instead of burst -The team benefits from it so that when fiora calls out her challenge, everyone cares about her success. They might help by CCing the target or keeping her alive so she can win I hope that helps explain some of the reasoning for how we ended up with this current victory reward. Fiora's team should care about whether or not she's successful and be able to join in the celebration if she is. Gameplay wise, adding reasons for Fiora's team to care about her in important. Selfish champions can lead to degenerate teamplay experiences, whether they are winning orlosing. Accordingly, by adding some team utility to her personal challenges, we can make Fiora a strong 1-on-1 duelist while keeping her team invested in her success. Heal might feel weird here, and I totally get that, but it was the most fitting tool in our box." As for why they went with a HEAL instead of a SHIELD on Fiora's R, **Stashu** [noted](http://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/2VTVQik0-fioras-ult-aoe-heal-suggestion-for-mr-riot-stashu?comment=000000000000): "I really wish a shield effect would fit for exactly the reasons you outlined above, but sadly shielding and healing mechanics have significantly different implications in this case. Fiora's R is meant to enable her team to abandon caution and focus heavily on a single target. In order to willingly accept this risk, Fiora needs to know that success will erase the costs she paid to attain it. A shield allows you to take risks in the future, whereas a heal forgives the risks you've taken in the past. When Fiora's team takes heavy damage in fighting for her R's success, a shield would surely be appreciated, but would soon expire and leave Fiora's team unable to take advantage of the following 5 v 4\. Thus, in future situations, Fiora's team will be very likely to hesitate to fight for her ult. Don Noat Amu makes the point that a super long duration shield might also accomplish this. However, the duration would have to be so long that it would effectively be a heal at that point, and maintaining the visual communication of the shield effect (UI, particles, etc) for so long would both be costly and feel prety odd. Hope that explains why we decided on a heal instead!" We've been talking recently about whether we should make Shen look a bit tankier, so his gameplay and theme/appearance line up a bit better. If we decided to do that and made noticeable model changes we might then go for new splash art to match. Discussion's still really early on what those possible changes might look like, could be small (bit of extra armor in the form of forearm guards or something similar) to much larger (more substantial amounts of armor while still matching his theme, significant adjustments to his physical build etc)."[/hide]_ -
So many nice toys are coming down the line. New items, new maps, and the reworks. I've always wanted to play GP for…some reason, but i always struggled with the character. But I'm better then I was, and want to try again.
His barrel mechanic takes getting used to. Those 3 seconds take forever when you're in a fight, so you need a good deal of advanced planning. I've never been so intimated by exploding barrels in my life.
Meanwhile, Fiora looks fun and is a champion I don't own yet. This might be the next champion I'm buying. I assume I've fallen into Riot's trap.

Teemo R Changes on PBE
[hide]In the 7/23 PBE update, Teemo received an interesting set of changes to his R shrooms including the ability to throw them and bounce them off other shrooms (with cast range + bounce range increasing based on R's rank).
Here's Riot Wav3Break with context on the changes:
"Hey everyone! Gonna jump on this thread to give more context on some of these Teemo changes since I worked on them as a humble sacrifice to our dark lord.
I had a few specific goals for these changes:

Reduce some of the ambient frustration Teemo causes by just having immortal shrooms.

Give this little devil some more skillful ways to express himself as the evil that haunts all of us in our dreams.

Give Teemo some sort of fall back team-fight pattern that doesn't just involve right clicking dudes in range so he can feel more useful when his team isn't on the same page as him in terms of baiting enemies into mine fields.
Answering a few questions I see here and there real quick:

The bouncing will not prime the mushroom, it is simply a way for Teemo to have some extra placement on his traps. Traps will still have to land and arm before they explode.

Mushrooms will only be target-able by enemies after they land, but currently still are destroyed by Wind Wall like effects before planting.
That being said, I'd love some feedback on how his upgraded passive feels in game. Can you pull off some more sneaky jukes as you traverse around the map? Does ambushing people feel like a more fun and viable way to express yourself as Teemo?
I'll preface this before you guys go ham trying to mess with people in top lane with his new camouflage: it should not be as good as you think it is since you have to worry about last hitting over and over, but there should be more situations where you feel like cheesing someone as they comeback from base is viable.
On the other hand, support Teemo in bot lane should have way more fun dominating the bushes and being a nuisance for the enemy since he doesn't need to worry about last hitting minions.
Also sound effects for throwing and bouncing the mushrooms should be getting into PBE around tomorrow and it would be awesome to get some feedback around them too! (Big thanks to our vfx and sfx guys for cranking these awesome things out btw.)

As for the time reduction of 10 minutes to 5 minutes for mushrooms, Wav3Break noted:
"It is pretty substantial no doubt, but it was also a lot of power that Teemo players would tap into unintentionally. Cutting down on this type of superfluous power will let us shift some more buffs into cooler/more skillful areas of Teemo's kit in the future if we need to. That being said, through a lot of internal testing so far, the extended cast range has been a substantial buff that for the most part seems to make up for this loss.
The big thing about this change is that it creates a larger and healthier space for us to work with in the future if we need to give him some more love :D!"
FeralPony also shroomed in to comment:
"This is a pretty good assessment. The goal is to make a more-or-less power neutral change that empowers Teemo to make more strategic decisions (expanding his ability to place shrooms and participate in teamfights) while reducing some of his frustration points playing when playing against him.
It's also adorable. Bouncing mushrooms are f*ing adorable. Extra mad props to Wav3break for quantifying the bounce range in terms of Teemos, which is our preferred unit of universal measure."

"We've found there is a lot of additional power added in the increased cast range, both in terms of personal safety for where Teemo can place things and his ability to contribute in team fights (priorizing killing mushrooms in a teamfight is a difficult choice for teams to make)
That said, we're happy to be wrong here and will adjust Teemo's power as needed moving forward."
He also added that the bounced mushrooms do not arm until after they have finished moving :
"The mushroom does not arm until it has finished moving after the bounce. The bouncing is more about squeezing out extra range out of the ability and set up some fun bounce combos then hitting dudes in the face with long range shrooms."
When asked about any changes to Move Quick and Toxic Shot, FeralPony noted:
"This is not intended to be anywhere near the same size or scope of a traditional champion update. These changes were the result of us seeing a cool opportunity space for a champion we haven't looked at in a long time. While there certainly could be room to do additional adjustments to other skills, we felt these areas would be the highest impact and value for Teemo and his opposition and wanted to keep the scope of the changes under control."[/hide]

Shen Update likely potentially to include new Q & W [hide]In a thread discussing champions with global ultimates, Meddler noted that Shen's future champion update his be replaced by something new or heavily modified:
"Matching thematics with gameplay is something we put a lot of effort into, there are times though where we need to prioritize balance over lighter thematic expectations. Having a thrown weapon have the same range as a long spear stab or sword thrust is that sort of case (by contrast if Caitlyn, as a sniper, had a really low attack range that'd be a pretty significant disconnect).
As far as Shen goes we think he's in a pretty effective spot right now and don't currently have any plans to add more power to him. It's also very likely his Q will be replaced or very heavily modified in his gameplay update (we'd like to give him a more interesting combat pattern for laning/1v1s and changing the Q will be a significant part of that)."
He continued, noting Shen is also likely to received a new W entirely:
"It's very likely we'll keep Shen as a low waveclear champion, his inability to push quickly's a really important safety valve on his ultimate.

Meddler on Fighter Itemization, New Fighter items testing soon [hide]In a boards thread inquiring about the overlap of ADC and fighter itemization, Meddler noted that they'll be testing a few fighter oriented items on the PBE in (tentatively) a few weeks:
"We're on the same page when it comes to fighters and ADC item overlap, which makes it difficult to offer effects that are an appropriate fit for one class, but not the other. Removing ranged crit's not the solution we're trying out however, we feel that does add some important value to the ADC role. What we're looking into instead for fighters are items that:-
Are a combination of offensive/defensive effects and therefore generally of noticeably lower appeal to ADCs who want to go full offense (e.g. the revised Black Cleaver which has a significant part of its budget spent on health, something fighters are fine with, but ADCs often aren't).

Offer additional rewards when combined with other defensive/partially defensive items (Atma's Impaler back in the day was an example of this sort of effect. It did have some other issues and so we felt we had to remove it, we believe there may be some variants on the concept that work better however).

Help melee champions engage in a fight, or stick to targets better once in a fight, in ways that aren't as consistently useful or accessible on ranged champions (Randuin's and Phage are good examples of this category) .
We're currently working on some items using the above approaches, which are intended in part to be good fits on heavy, immobile fighters like Garen, Darius, Udyr etc. More details to follow sometime pretty soon (patch 5.16 or 5.17 at a guess, so potentially hitting PBE 1-3 weeks from now, depending on how the rest of the work goes)."

Darius Update "very likely" within next 3 patches In a thread asking if the previously mentioned Darius updates would be out within the next 3 patches, Meddler noted:

No changes in 5.15 at the very least. Right now there are a lot of people playing GP who've never played him before and even those that have are having to learn some new stuff given the kit changes. That's making it a bit hard to get a gauge on what his long term power's like, initial reaction though is that it's in roughly the right ballpark.

So GP is dead, congratulations to Riot in making this approach to a event, now let´s wait for Lissandra, Ashe and Sejuani, Shurima and Shadow Islands.
My theory ? GP will stay dead, and his "Ghost Skin" will be the base skin, everyone will get it (and the ones who already has it will get a "special symbol or icon"). I don't believe that he was removed because of a bug, I feel sure that it was because of the lore.
Imagine, you can play as a "ghost pirate", that would be awesome.
Also, Captain MF is such a eye candy.:wub:

Darius, Garen, Mordekaiser, & Skarner on Champion Update Schedule Darius, Garen, Mordekaiser, and Skarner have all been added to Riot's champion update schedule and each is listed as being up for a gameplay update.[hide]When asked about the Garen changes in particular, Meddler noted:"We'll be talking about Garen in detail soonish, few initial comments in the meantime though:
- Garen's probably the lowest scope project on that list, with the addition of a new mechanic to his kit and some noticeable power curve tuning as key elements for him. Somewhat larger gameplay changes than MF, significantly smaller than GP.
- Changes to Garen are very much being developed with the item changes in mind.
- Very with you on the value of distinct benefits for bringing a particular champion to a team. We've got something else in mind for Garen though that doesn't overlap with other objective controllers (ult on monsters would give a very Cho/Nunu sort of feel)."
He continued, noting that Garen's Silence would not be removed:

As for why these four champions have been added to the list before Poppy, Meddler noted:

Multiple Champion + Fighter/Defensive Itemization Updates aimed at 5.16
[hide]As noted yesterday, Garen, Darius, Mordekaiser, and Skarner have all been added to Riot's champion update schedule and are slated for gameplay work in the near future.
When asked when we can expect to see the Garen, Darius, Mordekaiser, and Skarner updates released, Meddler noted they plan to release the four + itemization changes in a single patch:
"Our aim is to release the Garen, Darius, Skarner and Morde reworks in the same patch, along with some changes to fighter and defensive itemization. As usual that's not 100% guaranteed, it's certainly what we're trying for though."
He continued, noting these things are being aimed at 5.16:
"Odds are pretty high this stuff will be in 5.16."
As for what "fighter and defensive itemization" means, he elaborated:
"A new item or two, plus some small (mainly) adjustments to defensive items (in general Armor items are getting slight nerfs, MR items slight buffs)."
He continued:
"Quote:
Is this going to be more defensive item related? Or is there going to be a mix of off/def bruiser items? Last question, why are you guys changing the game so much mid-season, it seems odd as all of the "big" changes have mostly came before preseason.
Light overhaul of stats/costs on many defensive items, plus a new item or two targeted particularly at fighters. Stat/cost changes will likely be lighter than the AP changes in 5.13, not looking to make that level of change at this point.We've been making some bigger changes this year than last both because we feel last year we were and a bit too conservative during the year and because this allows us to better address some stuff we've wanted to work on for a long time. Trying to cram everything major into a Preseason once a year limits how much we can get done and doesn't give us a chance to test and learn as we go. Doing the AP itemization adjustments mid season for example's given us some useful learnings for the next sets of items we're looking at."
As for if they'll do a pass at ADC itemization in the future, Meddler commented:
"ADC itemization's one of the next sets we've been talking about tackling if this set also goes well (AP items being the first, which has worked out well so far). That would be a post Worlds at the earliest thing though."
On reddit Meddler added that while 5.16 is gearing up to be large, 5.17 and 5.18 will likely be more focused on balance refinements as they will likely be the patch the 2015 World Championship will be played on:
"5.16's going to be a pretty big patch with multiple reworks and some item changes. After that though we'll be shifting focus to balance refinements, with the aim of a stable patch for worlds (so no major disruption expected in 5.17 or 5.18, given Worlds will probably be played on one of those two patches)."
He also noted this in a different comment:
"We'll be going a lot lighter than usual on balance changes/new additions to the game for a bit post 5.16, we're with you on the value of Worlds having a stable patch and the regular servers being similar to the patch Worlds is played on. There will still be some adjustments of course, but less than most other parts of the year."
As for an estimation of how many patches we'll see total in the 2015 season, Meddler commented:
"At a guess 5.24, or thereabouts, will be the last patch of the year. To give some more context though as said above Worlds will probably be played on 5.17 or 5.18 and the Preseason 2016 changes will probably come out a bit before 5.24."
When asked about the scope of Mordekaiser's gameplay updates, Meddler elaborated:
"Morde's a moderate sized update (bigger than Garen, Skarner or Darius). His skills are still pretty similar, but all have at least some degree of adjustment, with a push in more of a bruiser direction. We're not going to be giving him CC or mobility though, we feel lack of those, in exchange for some otherwise pretty inappropriate stuff (that ult especially), is a key part of Morde's identity.
We're with you that Morde could do with a visual update. There are other characters we feel need the work more though on the art side, so he's a way down the priority list (Poppy's the primary art intensive project on the Champion Update team right now). We're going for a mainly gameplay update as a result, since we've got kit changes ready to go (with some limited visual effects changes to support them as needed)."
As for Skarner's update, Riot Repertoir scuttled in with a few comments:

He'll generally be a bit better tank following the changes. Depending on how he's using his new mechanic, he'll be a worse fighter on average, but a significantly better one situationally.
Will Skarner's pre 6 gank impact be addressed or do you see it as a fair trade off for what he gains at level 6 or there isn't a problem in that regard ?
Pre-6 ganks are more threatening now when executed properly, but not necessarily easier to pull off.
What is the scale of the update It can't be poppy level but is it like gangplank level? Can you identify some problems that you have observed that has lead to the decision that he needs a gameplay update.
Skarner's changes are like a one or two ability change and numbers tuning across the board, gameplay only. Skarner's historically just been one of many guys that tries to run at you (Garen, Morde, and Darius have a bit of this too), so we're trying to add some twists to that so that they don't feel so similar to play as/against in that regard."
When asked if the Skarner gameplay changes will aim to make him "more unique", Scruffy noted:
"This is actually the major goal of the upcoming changes. Giving him some totally new things to bring to his team/the game."
On Skarner, Scruffy continued:
"The general way you play him will feel very similar (though with some pretty major QoL improvements in the new passive area). The changes are gonna be more focused on giving him a more unique contribution to his team/playstyle. Effectively expect that most of his current skills will remain in tact.
Next week will answer all of the questions when he's on PBE for testing."
On the scope of the work, Meddler also added:
"Somewhat bigger than Garen, though not dramatically so. One of the biggest things we want to do in his case is give him a clearer niche when his ult's on CD."
When asked if his updates will make Garen less of a "new player friendly" champion, Scruffy noted:
"Garen should remain a good option for beginners after his changes (possibly better in some ways). I wouldn't worry too much about his level of difficulty skyrocketing in his update."
When asked about the difference between Garen being a fighter instead of a tank, Meddler explained:
"Our approach with the primary tags on each character is generally to reflect what a champion is trying to do in a fight, rather than how they build. Garen's there primarily for damage for example. He does bring a little bit of CC, and he's happy to soak up some damage where he can, but his ideal goal is to spin on someone then ult them for a kill. Tanks by contrast, even if they've got similar builds, tend to be much more focused on setting up the enemy team for others to kill and/or protecting their own team. Lot of disruption basically, most often through CC."

When?_ Being worked on. These reworks are mainly gameplay/game design dependent, Poppy at this point is mainly dependent on art. About jungle items:
The last thing we had was a "nerf" for the AP item and a possible change for the AD item (after you cast a skill, you will do true damage on a enemy based on 10% of your AD during 3 seconds).

Gangplank returns and the event end draws near

Following the story from the event, Gangplank's base look (model & splash) are being updated and the "current" Gangplank is being transformed into a free Captain Gangplank skin for anyone who owns Gangplank and plays a matchmade game as him before the end of the event!
Here's the official announcement on the return of Gangplank and the end of the Burning Tides event:
"TLDR: Bilgewater: Burning Tides sails away on August 10 at 2:00 AM PDT.. You can earn the free Captain Gangplank skin if you own the champion and play a full matchmade game with him (or if you’ve already played at least one) before the event ends.
The orchestrated spectacle of the Dead Pool’s destruction led many to believe that the dread reaver Gangplank perished in the flames. But what is dread may never die, and Gangplank returns to reclaim what he believes to be rightfully his.
Fitted with a new limb to replace the one he lost, the Saltwater Scourge will soon rain cannonballs down on Summoner’s Rift again after a brief stay on the PBE.
Since this is the first time we've done something so dramatic with story and theme, we're commemorating the event with the Captain Gangplank skin depicting the dread pirate from before the events of Bilgewater: Burning Tides. All players who own and play (or have already played) an entire matchmade game as Gangplank during the event will receive the Captain Gangplank skin for free.
Captain Gangplank reflects a simpler time, when one uncrowned reaver king ruled over Bilgewater with an iron cutlass and a fearsome love of scrimshaw. While base Gangplank has been irrevocably changed by Miss Fortune’s masterful scheme, the Captain Gangplank skin hearkens back to before the pirate’s bloody fall.

As for when Gangplank will be re-enabled for play, O2ymandias noted he'll be back in 5.15:
"He'll be back with the next patch! You'll have plenty of time to play him before the event ends (and earn that sweet sweet Captain Gangplank skin), we'll make sure of it.
And if you already own GP, and played him after his rework went live at the start of the event, you've already earned the Captain GP skin! We'll start awarding those on August 10th at the end of the event."
He continued:
"Yar. If by the end of the event, you 1. Own GP, and 2. Have played his reworked version in any matchmade queue, you'll get the Captain GP skin for free."

Burning Tides: Epilogue
In light of the above announcement, the Bilgewater: Burning Tides website has been updated with an epilogue story to reveal the fate of Gangplank after Miss Fortune's attack.

[hide]Bilgewater was devouring itself. The streets rang with the shrieks of the desperate and the dying. Fires burning in the lowly slums rained ash across the entire city. Control had been lost, and now every gang rushed to fill the power vacuum left by the fall of one man. A war had been started by the spread of three simple words: Gangplank is dead.
Savage ambitions and petty grudges that had festered for years were now being acted upon.
On the docks, a crew of whalers ran down a rival fisherman. They skewered him with harpoons and left his body hanging from a trotline.
At the highest peak of the island, tall opulent gates that had stood since Bilgewater’s founding were battered apart. A cowering gang lord was ripped from his bed by a rival.
His mewling cries were silenced when his skull was dashed upon the hand-crafted marble of his own front steps.
Along the wharf, a fleeing Red Cap attempted to staunch a bloody head wound. He looked over his shoulder but could see no sign of his pursuers. The Jagged Hooks had turned on the Caps. He had to get back to the safe house to warn his crew.
He rounded the corner, screaming for his brothers to gather their arms and join him. But his thirst for blood dried in his throat. Standing in front of the Red Caps’ own den was a band of Hooks. Their blades dripped with gore. At their head, a wiry figure, barely a man, creased his pock-marked face with a vicious grin.
The Red Cap had time to utter one last curse.
Across the bay, off a quiet back alley, a physician attempted to ply his trade. The gold he had been handed was plenty to buy his services – and assure his silence.
It had taken half an hour to peel the sodden coat from the sloughing flesh of his patient’s arm. The doctor had seen many horrific injuries before, but even he recoiled at the sight of the mangled limb. He paused for a moment, terrified of the response his next words would provoke.
“I… I’m sorry. I can’t save your arm.”
Within the shadows of the candlelit room, the bloodied ruin of a man composed himself before staggering to his feet. His good hand shot out like a lash and wrapped around the throat of the quivering doctor. He lifted the surgeon slowly, measuredly off the floor and pinned him to the wall.
For a terrible moment, the brute stood impassively, considering the man in his grasp. Then he abruptly dropped him.
Lost in panic and confusion, the healer coughed violently as the shadowed mass strode to the back of the room. Passing through the light of the surgeon’s lantern, the patient reached for the top drawer of a well-worn cabinet. Methodically, the man opened each drawer searching for what he needed. Finally, he stopped.
“Everything must have a purpose,” he said, looking at his mutilated arm.
He pulled something from the case, and threw it to the doctor’s feet. There, glinting under the lantern was the clean steel of a bonesaw.
“Cut it off,” he said. “I’ve got work to do.”

[hide]"We wanted to write some thoughts up to prepare you for some pretty hefty changes we’ll be experimenting with over the next few patches. In short, here are our goals:
- Every game of League should feel meaningfully different based on the champions in it
- Each champion in League should feel distinct from one another
We’re primarily going to talk about the second goal here: getting all champions in League to feel different from each other through unique gameplay in addition to their themes and art.

Now, some champs already bring their unique brand of play to League. Take Blitzcrank into a game and you’ll heavily affect the way both teams play. Instead of looking for solid initiation, your team will more likely wait for you to pull off a successful pick, while the enemy team will position their frontline in the hope of getting grabbed. And Rocket Grab is just one ability on one champion!
Plenty of other champs have similar impact, from Gnar with his rage meter, to Yasuo with his Wind Wall. But while we succeeded with some, we frankly didn’t with others (such as Darius and Garen) and, when two champs play the same way, you just end up picking the one that does the same things better. The result is the same folks played in every game (unless that power balance shifts), and each game of League feeling similar. That’s one of the main things we wanted to begin solving with this update.
Previously when balancing champs, we’ve occasionally taken the approach of nerfing their strengths so we could buff their weaknesses. We’re not doing that here. Instead, we’re often entirely refocusing each champion’s power so that their highs and lows are both deeper and more differentiated from others in the same role.
Rather than just diving in headfirst and tackling all the champions, our plan is to break them down into groups - tackling champions who share roughly the same strategic or tactical niche as others at the same time. By hitting a handful of champs at a time, we can address a few underserved groups, like the first set that we’ve affectionately referred to as juggernauts.
Caveat: A lot of the following changes may sound like net buffs–and they generally are--but often times we didn't want to only add power, so we've shifted a lot of strength around to more focus these tanky melee carries on offering more unique identities with conditional power built on their range. You'll find more information in the patch notes, but we wanted to highlight our intentions here even if we aren’t going through the full changelist.
JUGGERNAUTS
Nasus. Darius. Garen. Skarner. When you think brute force, these champions should come to mind: powerful, durable, immobile and melee. They’re League’s hulking titans who, come late game, turn into super tanky carries who’ll pretty much destroy anyone foolish enough to get in their way. The prototypical juggernaut is Nasus, the classic one dog late game wrecking machine. The archetypal raid boss can only do his thing when he’s in melee range, and his lack of gap closer means he often has to rely on allied speed boosts like Sivir’s On The Hunt or well-aimed crowd control like a Morgana binding to get close, but once he does, he unleashes the power of his trademark Siphoning Strike.

This balance of power and peelability helps keep tanky melee carries in a good state and leads to distinct playstyles that belong to each champion. What we did with this update was we took a look at some of the juggernauts that occupied the same ‘tactical space’ as Nasus (we think there are a few more than these, but settled on four for our first set) and added a little more uniqueness where we could.
**DARIUS** _**"Death by my hand"**_ We’ve always thought of Darius as one of League’s strongest cleanup fighters, the pentakill machine who’d outlast his enemies’ attacks before apprehending his wounded enemies and getting his chop on. The problem was, while that fantasy is great, Darius almost never got to do any of it. Either you’d build damage on him and die before it was cleanup time, or build tanky and lack the damage to properly get your dunk on. With this update, we’re tweaking Hemorrhage and giving the big guy’s passive a new tool: Bloodrage: http://news.cdn.leagueoflegends.com/public/images/pages/2015/jug/video/Juggernauts_Darius.webm Passive: Hemorrhage: Darius cuts enemies he attacks, causing them to bleed. Hemorrhage can stack up to five times. [New] Bloodrage: Whenever Darius executes an enemy with Noxian Guillotine or fully stacks Hemorrhage on a target, he gains Bloodrage for a few seconds. While under the effects of Bloodrage, Darius deals greatly increased physical damage and applies max Hemorrhage stacks to all enemies he hits. The idea here is to give Darius the means to be Darius. The damage amp upon fully stacking Bloodrage is huge, but he still has to work to get it. Opponents will have to be much more cautious about letting the Hand of Noxus get his passive stacks going - preventing him from gaining stacks means he won’t go into Bloodrage which, in turn, means he’ll have a much harder time chaining his executions together. But when he does… well… there will be pentakills. **GAREN** **"Justice, by law, or by sword"** Garen’s an interesting champion to work on. He’s League’s preeminent “spin to win” champion, but doesn’t really bring enough uniqueness to the games he’s in. What’s more, when late game comes around, the Might of Demacia turns into the Meek of Demacia and falls off so hard he doesn’t do much other than occasionally tell people - very loudly - where he’s from. We wanted to balance Garen out a little, so we tinkered with his power curve to make him weaker early but stronger come late game, and then added a fancy new passive to the big man’s ult. http://news.cdn.leagueoflegends.com/public/images/pages/2015/jug/video/Juggernauts_Garen.webm R: Demacian Justice [NEW] Passive: Garen identifies the enemy champion with the most recent kills as the enemy team’s Villain. Judgment ticks and basic attacks on the Villain deal an additional 1% of their max Health as true damage. Active: Garen calls upon the might of Demacia to deal a finishing blow to a targeted enemy. The more health they’re missing, the more damage Demacian Justice will deal. [NEW] Demacian Justice deals true damage to the enemy team’s Villain. Now Garen has an active and unique role in every game: to destroy any foe, regardless of how tanky they are, so long as they’ve recently killed one of his friends (champions on his team). This isn’t just cool in design terms, it’s also super fitting to his character’s fantasy: now Garen’s a protector of the weak both in and out of game, and has a kit that directly opposes Darius’. This isn’t a static rivalry either - Villainy will adapt as the game progresses, changing Garen’s target as his enemies rise to - and fall from - power. **SKARNER** **"Fear my sting"** Skarner has one of the coolest ultimates in the game and we think that’s A Good Thing, but we also wanted to give him a few more toys to be excited about when kidnapping isn't on the docket. We wanted Skarner to have something truly unique to him - here’s where we ended up: http://news.cdn.leagueoflegends.com/public/images/pages/2015/jug/video/Juggernauts_Skarner.webm Whenever Skarner is in a game, six crystal spires appear on the Rift. They’re located by red buff, blue buff, Baron, and Dragon.These crystal spires are capturable, just like the altars on Twisted Treeline. When someone on the lonely scorpion’s team captures a spire, it creates a zone that gives Skarner (only Skarner!) pretty significant boosts to his movement and attack speed. The enemy team can capture them too and, when they do, they gain gold, a short burst of vision, and temporarily lock Skarner out from his super meaningful buffs. That’s the key - with these changes, Skarner becomes a neutral objective control king, and super useful for teams looking to overcome their enemies with buff and map control. **MORDEKAISER** **"Misery loves company"** Last but certainly not least, we took a look at ol’ Morde. Over the years, he’s been a consistently difficult champion to balance thanks to his pretty unique mechanics. League’s very own man of steel is a shielded and manaless AP burst mage who’s super slow, lacks crowd control… and is often played in a solo lane. So, rather than committing to balancing him in a patchwork fashion for the next few years, we decided to try something a little crazy. Here goes… We’re trying Mordekaiser out as a duo lane juggernaut, intended to step up in lieu of a regular marksmen pick. Yep. Morde’s rework has some pretty unique aspects. For starters, Creeping Death now only deals damage if Morde and his targeted ally stay near each other, a change intended to help entice Morde into duo lanes the way we mentioned. Secondly, even if he’s playing in lane with a support, he’ll earn full experience from any minion he’s able to last hit (support will get their usual half share of xp). This means that Mordekaiser, unless he dies horribly beforehand, will always hit level six way before his lane opponents, and will always have a pretty handy advantage when it comes to bot lane battles and early game dragon contests. Obviously these are some pretty significant updates that are, as ever, subject to change, but hopefully we’ve shown you some unique and different angles for the juggernauts we’re looking at and how we’re looking to diversify champs in similar spots. We’ve plans for other tanky melee carries (specifically Shyvana and Olaf), and broader plans beyond that for the entire champion roster. Again, our goal is that every champion in League has specific reasons to be picked, or brings a unique and awesome thing to each game. My opinion about Darius, Garen, Mordekaiser and Skarner [hide]Is always nice to see a aspect of originality in the champions, not just, random dude with a ax/sword/mace.
Darius: Now he can penta dunk with more ease, a little bit of nerf in his Q and a buff in his W.
Garen: Goodbye villainssnowballs:ninja:Morde: WOW Riot…You have the courage to "revolutionize" the game, good job with Morde + supp bot. Now I need my army of ghosts,

So much to take in. I was nervous before, but with time I think most of these will be for the better. Especially those Viktor nerfs!
"New" new gangplank looked stupid in his original screenshots (I blame the stomach tattoo), but he looks much better on my computer screen, in motion. I wanted to get good with this guy after the rework, and I might still try it.
I'm elated that Deadman's Plate is a regular item now, and not even before the special mode ended! I love playing tanks, and this thing makes running across the map much more fun. I'll try it on Nautilus, but I fear it'll become core for Rammus and Hecarim.
