Super Smash Bros

I'll play a few rounds
-
I'll hop on as well.
-
God damnit you just did that for the bee joke, didn't you?
Good.
-
Goddamnit Goroh, do your job properly !
-
The best part about having a Xanatos Mii is that I can say it was all according to plan. Who is it that you think signs Goroh's paychecks?
-
Thing you shouldn't forget about Palutena: she has a counter too
-
Things you shouldn't forget about Diddy Kong: his final smash is a suicide note.
-
Things you shouldn't forget about Jungle Japes: everybody lose
-
That's it for me. Lots of fun, though. I really don't understand how of all stages, Jungle Japes has survived two installations to wreak havoc on any asshole within range. But hey, it gave me the victory, so I can't stay too mad at it, haha.
-
So I learned you can't activate the jetpack if you're spinning in midair.
-
So after 53 For Glory matches, I finally met my first Little Mac opponent. I curbstomped him 2-0 with Falcon, and he ragequitted immediately after. This is the menace supposedly ruining online matches? Yikes.

Little Mac is good in a match between two players without much skill because those players generally don't utilize aerials well and stick to the neutral game anyways. These are the places mac really excels, so he's a good fit for players like that. And unskilled players aren't going to be jumping offstage to try and gimp mac's recovery as much, so mac's weaknesses are much less apparent when neither player is skilled. A skilled mac can still be really good, but a skilled opponent will know how to exploit mac's obvious weaknesses
-
Thanks a lot for the match guys, the chaos at four player was pretty fun!

They are a lot of bad Little Mac running around in For Glory, but when you finally found a good one, they are pretty hard to fight. Not really the unstoppable kill machine some people are calling him, but you can see why unskilled player a fearing him

Yeah, that's the impression I get. The guy was just pretty much spamming smash and dash attacks. Not very smart. I'm guessing that's how most Little Macs play online?

That's how I play with every character, so yep.
[hide]But seriously I think one way Mac ruins the air game a bit is when they remember to counter a good amount along with air dodges. The proper punish of course is the Falcon Punch, but it can ruin some momentum unless they've got a good ways to returning to stage. That said, I don't think Mac is that bad to fight either. [/hide]

I just dodge when they rush at me and see them fall to their death. I don't even taunt. I like to imagine them like this as they see their demise:

Lol Little Mac and counter simply don't mix very well. If he counters successfully, that's good for him assuming he can follow it up. If not, he had better be prepared to lose a life if he's even somewhat close to the ledge and has mild damage at best. Not to mention that Little Mac has a shitty recovery so by wasting time air dodging and countering in mid-air takes away the precious height he needs to recover using side b or up b almost immediately.

I'm talking more about the juggling potential. It can break juggling around the stage and break the pace for the other player more than air dodging. In fact, I'd say I see a lot of gfycats flying around where there are combos where the player could easily break out of it by air dodging.
Of course, then again I'd say my brother learned a lot about facing my falcon and plays a lot more defensively than usual and adapted to it and is way more formidable than the usual online Mac, and that's where I'm pulling a lot of judgment, but Mac still gets wrecked by people with range, Marth and Lucy being my choices.

Wait, I'm confused. Who's doing the juggling, and who's doing the air dodging? I'm assuming Little Mac is being juggled by the other person, and he should be air dodging to get out of the combo.

That's pretty much the same conclusion I arrived at as well. Noqanky and Rin eventually learned and taught me how to counter Little Mac, meaning I can't just run around like a bull anymore. It's kind of strange since Little Mac was meant to be played super aggressively, but you have to be a lot more defensive if you want to stand a chance at the higher skill levels with him.
-
Ugh my circle pad cost me a bunvh lifes by making me suicide some times, great matches guys.
@Wagomu:God damnit you just did that for the bee joke, didn't you?
Good.
I don't know what are talking about.:ninja:

Holy crap… I just made a BEASTLY Custom Mii Gunner out of my best Friend..... this is unexpected and awesome.

Anyone is doing the juggling. For example, I like my Falcon with a side of UAirs, but then it gets predictable against my brother. So now I thrown in a falcon punch to punish him for playing better. Also works for when he air dodges.

Nah I think if you pick him up I'd say that he has initial looks of aggressiveness, but really I think he rewards smart play way more. The super armor is really really good at protecting Mac when the hit matters, and his rolls are real fast and let you get in a bunch of hits after your opponent whiffs. I think Sakurai said before that he designed Mac so that he should be played like a Boxer and wait for an opening and capitalize on it, or maybe that was about him being grounded, but as long as your reads are good, Mac can be really difficult if he mixes things up with grabs and other stuff, especially with all his movement options.
"Mac how do you grab people with boxing gloves on?"

Holy crap… I just made a BEASTLY Custom Mii Gunner out of my best Friend..... this is unexpected and awesome.
Honestly this is what I'm hoping for with the current "For Fun" setup is just people experimenting and seeing what crazy setups they can make. Once people keep unlocking more customs (384 custom moves total… and I've only unlocked all of Falcon's so far (which actually isn't bad)), they can mold characters however they like.
-
Yeah, I've never regarded Little Mac as a problem. Some matchups in this game can get pretty bad, but, fuck, I've taken down Macs using friggin Dedede. Little Mac has a very predictable effective range .

Dedede does some magnificent cartwheels.

!
You ain't no air fighter mac.
-
Hey guys! I'm at my parent's house! The wifi doesn't suck here! Maybe later i can finally play with you guys? Hang arround with cool guys? :3
-
!
Just throw me a number if you guys would like to fight the vaccum robbutt.
-
Anyone game for a few quick matches?
-
Me, me, me! .
-
I made the room.
-
WAIT. That was MY Beetle… why did it turn around and grab me?...
-
Oh man, that match ending was legendary.
-
Has anyone chopped down Villager's tree in one swing?
I just had an online match where I accidentally did that. I was running full speed at it and did a chop on a brand new tree, and the thing went tumbling. Not sure how it happened, couldn't even replicate it in training. -
-
WAIT. That was MY Beetle… why did it turn around and grab me?...
If you smash attack a beetle, you can cause it to reverse direction, and ownership of it now belongs to you instead. Or maybe it was regular attack. Anyway, I know this because it came up as one of the tips on the load screen.

Someone earlier figured out the best way to get custom outfits the fastest, anyone remember what it was? This thread grows at a rather accelerated rate and digging becomes tiresome.
-
I just tried my Mii out for the first time against humans. All I can say is I'm fucked for the Mii tourney lol.
-
Welp, My Foo Fighters Mii is pretty damn good.
Also, Just found this out. Apparently when the match host turns on Customs, the Random character option also apparently randomizes character customizations too.
Anyways, good games guys. Mained the Random Button that round of matches, and had a lot of fun.
-
Thanks guys, i think i learned a lot. I have to go do some work (X.x)
-
Anyone want to play?
-
I do wonder if some japanese are already playing with the new 3ds.
-
21 All star wins to get that one, 6 or 7 for the 100 man battle, failed horribly in my 2th attempt at lvl9 clasic mode run, haven't got any streetpass lately, at 18 smash hours still, and still lots of hats, powers and custom moves to go.
-

I'dlike to know this as well, unlockin mii parts is tedious . And never seem to pop up for me.
-
Depending on how efficient you are, either the classic mode home menu exploit or Smash Run
-
Classsic mode after seven (difficulty) gives sweet rewards (and they vary depending on the road you choose). Smash is a series of killing the proper enemy (it seems they give the parts based on types so each type will give another part it seems. Why the way how do i kill the Pikmin bug? That thing doesn't die )
Also, what's the best way to keep my opponent of the stage? I found that ejecting from my trollcopter can render a nice damage but it's too high risk against better players. The down attack can secure KO…mine if i fuck up or the enemy if done right. Should i just like...jab in the air?
-
I've been using the Classic mode Home Menu Exploit, and for anyone who wants to know, here are the steps:
Step 1: Start Classic mode on the highest intensity you are capable of beating with the character you are primarily trying to get customs for (or one who has few customs available at moment if you're just generally going for all customs).
Step 2: When a match starts, and you're at the screen with the roulette wheel of prizes (See below image) let the roulette wheel circle around once to see if there are any Red prizes (You will see a wrench icon next to them as well)
Step 3: If there are any Red prizes, then try your best to time it so it lands on the red one, but instead of hitting "A" to select, hit the home button on your 3DS.
It will pause the spinning wheel and go to the home menu, letting you actually see your choice.
NOTE: You want the Red Wrench prize to be above the "Middle" point of the roulette wheel, like, the image has it in the perfect place. If it's exactly in the middle or lower than the middle at all, even if it's really close, then it won't work and you need to try again with the home button
Step 4: Once you have the Prize you want (Red Wrench) in position while paused on the home menu, press the home menu button again to unpause it and IMMEDIATELY begin to rapidly tap "A". If you're too slow, it won't register fast enough and you'll get the next prize (Which is why it's important that the one you want be above the middle, it allows a slight milisecond buffer here for you to get the input in)Boom. Once you get this technique down, you can play through classic ENTIRELY and get a Wrench on every single level that has one in the roulette wheel.
Now, you can also win Equipment as well as Custom moves, so it's still a bit of a slog, but this is by far the fastest method I've found so far. I typically win 3-5 custom moves per Classic run.
-
Doesn't the color of the Path that you choose adds a prize of that category? At least that's what i've alway thought. That the wheel is always set and when you get a prize from it they replace it with coins or something of the color you chose…or is it anything else?
