I'm sure ppl would like to know the reason why a mod removes your sig all of a sudden. I'm not a hard customer, just tell me in advance or give me a warning (or anything!!!) before you do anything. I didnt even get a msg after…. I really dont like it that I have to find this out when I browse through a thread and see a "Someone removed your sig" msg instead of my sig. and I dont even know what my sig did...
Cant mods send u a PM b4 removing ur sig?
-
-
it really isn't hard to figure out what your sig did. If it was a picture(s) then the overall dimensions are too big, so check the rules. If it's a GIF then it's probably too big byte wise.
Well, in the Mod's defense, even if they did PM you, you would have to go and change it anyway so it really makes no difference, does it? Or, you can be lazy like me and just not bother.
-
it was a 20kb .jpg file
it does make a difference, at least for me I would like to know what happened, and why did they remove it just now and not b4? I've had that sig for over 2 wks and no one told me it was against the rules or anything….
just a little msg or a warning...
-
They probably remove it once it starts causing a loading problem. Or they just didn't notice it. It was the same case with my sig.
-
Could you please using correct grammar in your thread titles next time? That way you look like you've actually good a fair point to make instead of looking like you just want to complain.
Anyway, I suggest you read all the rules of the forums. The signature was most likely taken down because of its dimensions were too big.
-
Outside of a brief Deja vu, I don't remember seeing you post much. That could be because I don't look at many threads, or whatever. Your sig was probably removed due to size limits. That's all I can say. Besides that, it might be because it was overly inappropriate (we do have young members here) or perhaps there was a complaint of some sort. I don't know the circumstances, myself, though.
Short answer: Deal with it.

^ qft.
If I remove something, the image is either too big or you've got too many of them. Wakka wakka.
-
I'm probably the one actively removing the sig. The reason I don't PM is because I remove more sigs than you can imagine, and I don't want to waste my time PMing and keep checking if you changed your sig or not.
We've had same complaints before. Please PLEASE read the forum rule before you complain next time. Link to the signature rule is conveniently located at removed sigs.

- Do NOT complain when your signiture is removed for breaking any one of these rules, it is your own loss and fault for not paying attention to these rules.
ps. Usually I just remove ![](tags so you still remember where your sig is. ... Like how I did for lalala's. Lalala, are you going to change your sig at all? >.>)
-

I might get around to it, I might not. I've been a little extra lazy lately.
And im just curious. Bad-Beat, did you use bad grammer in some places on purpose?

meh..I knew that would happen..

Short answer: Deal with it.
I dont mind if you take away my sig, heck im not even complaining about it being removed, if youve read what I wrote, i was just looking for a warning or an explanation.
If you have time to write "Signature was removed by ___", why not state the reason for doing so, its just a few secs of typing…
@Bad-Beat:

english is not my first language. and I'm sorry, what does my "bad" grammar have to do with anything??
btw, the sig u removed is the same sig i have now.. obviously its not inappropriate, or offensive.
-
I think he means b4 ur and u. In arlong park people would like it if you stuck to before, your, and you.
And actually, i believe your sig is too long.

This post is deleted!

ugh, i wasnt complaining…. i guess my english is too crappy for u to understand me well...

okay, my fault then.
And actually, i believe your sig is too long.
thats the first actual complaint I've had abt it. thank you.

I have one major question. I have been using the same signature for a year now and it has been removed a few weeks back. Why wait months just to remove it? xD
-
Cause we get this inspiration once a while to go sig crazy :P Otherwise we're lazy people. … Or me.
-
They should. Some sort of notice like "Hey your sig is too big, change it or we will" would be nice that just one day logging on and then "Nothing"
-
it's not our fault you don't take the time to read the rules of our forums, again it comes down to you not reading the rules.
-
I am very sure it was quite standard and according to the rules. Ah well, my new sig rocks. xD
-

if the sig rules was this important, why wait a year to remove someone's "not by the rules" sig?

You're arguing a lost cause. Your sig was removed because it was too big. It probably took a while to be removed because like all of us, the mods can get a bit lazy. They don't just keep scanning all over the forum for rule breakers and such. Tehy are here to talk about one piece too!
If you aren't happy with any of that then you can f*** off basically.
-

I ask a question and u reply me with profanity. cute.
If you didnt get my question, I was asking why it needed to take a year to remove a sig deemed "against the rules". Surely the mods scan the forums once in a while. They may or may not be sifting for sig offenders while scanning, but if the sig is too big or offensive, with 15+ of them, they can spot it in a matter of days or weeks or even within a month or two, no? Esp. if the member was an active one. So if a sig has been around for a year, doesnt that mean that it… wasnt against the rules?
-
The thing I don't get is why you keep saying a year, when you've only been here a month?

Well, I'm not a Mod but my guess is that, thelousy isn't the most common poster on the forums and when he does post, the mods aren't on a sig warpath. It's only when he, or anyone else is posting quite regularly in popular topics that the mods, while picking up on sigs, notice that ur sig size is too big etc…
-
Someone asked me why I removed their signature now and not a long time ago. Well, probably because I haven't seen the person post.
And as you people can see in my signature, just PM me with the signature removed and I will gladly explain why I removed it. Of course, only if it was me who removed it.It has been said before, but it's worth repeating. It's not our fault that you broke the rules so your signature had to be removed. It was your own fault.
-

I am sorry, but I dont see anyone pointing fingers or even complaining that their sig is removed.
and I'm sorry if this thread has dragged into something else, but the main purpose of this thread is to ask why we dont get a msg or a warning as to why the sig is removed. Why you have the time to write "Signature removed by ___" or even edit their [img] tags and not take the time to state the reason for the removal?
And its the first time I've seen you post Pepsi, and also my first time to see your sig. So I'm sorry if my first reaction wasnt to send you a PM.
-
If I saw that someone removed my signature, I would probably go to the person's profile and then PM the person. And in the profile, you can see my signature.
It takes a lot more effort to write the reason than just that the signature has been removed.
I actually hunt for signatures and while I do that I have the sentence "Signature removed by Pepsi." copied so I can just paste it.
Do you know how many signatures we remove?
Quoting ocean:The reason I don't PM is because I remove more sigs than you can imagine, and I don't want to waste my time PMing and keep checking if you changed your sig or not.

Ah, here your wrong. When I had the sig at the first place, I was very active for about 3-4 months. Its impossible not to notice me. xD Things started slowing down since I started a new school term this year.
Anyway I think its about time we close this thread, if not a flaming war between all the mods/admins and a sole person.

- Signature dimension sizes are limited to a height of 200 pixels and a width of 500 pixels. This is not heavily enforced, but however, please do try and keep the sizes small.
This is not heavily enforced = we're lazy. We have loads of other stuff to take care when the forum is full of madness with new people. I think we've explained everything by now, so is there still a need to discuss about signature removal? Removing signature is our lower priority compare to the regular modding job. If you still have something to say, please use PM.
