Well, I've finished the entire 5th Doctor's run.
! You know, at first Peter Davison seemed like kind of a boring Doctor, and while it's true even at the end he wasn't exactly bursting with personality, he proved himself to be an interesting character and a totally worthy Doctor. He's definitely a more refined and righteous Doctor than Baker was (who was sometimes a bit too manic and occasionally presented questionable morals), but he still has that eccentric charm to him. Truth be told, I love all the Doctors (that I've seen so far) and it's still kind of hard for me to pick my favorites among them. That being said, I'm not quite sure Davison would be a contender for my number one spot. I'd say he's probably more of a middle-of-the-road Doctor. But we'll see how the remainder fare and how the 5th Doctor feels in retrospect.
! Episodes:
Castrovalva - Honestly, a pretty weak start for the 5th Doctor. A meandering and confusing plot with the Doctor acting like a nitwit most of the time.
! Four to Doomsday - This was goofy as hell, but…I dunno. I liked it.
! Kinda - Pretty solid episode. Lots of mystery and intrigue.
! The Visitation - Richard Mace is one of the best guest characters. Other than that, there's not much I remember about this episode.
! Black Orchid - Apparently this was the first serial since The Highlanders to not feature any science fiction elements aside from The Doctor himself. It was okay, I guess.
! Earthshock - Often cited as one of the best Classic Who episodes, and it pretty much lives up to that. Not sure how to feel about Adric's death, especially since I knew it was coming (apparently the audio books retconned it so that he survived).
! Time-Flight - I don't why The Master was disguised as a racist stereotype, but otherwise this was pretty good.
! Arc of Infinity - Pretty good episode, even though Omega's return was kind of underwhelming and that chase scene at the end went on forever. Oh, and hi Colin Baker.
! Snakedance - Boooooooring. Did we really need another Mara episode at all, much less one so soon?
! Mawdryn Undead - Solid, if not a little confusing, episode. Seeing Lethbridge Stewart again is always great. And are those supposed to be their brains that are sticking out of their head?
! Terminus - Kind of a dull serial, and I feel like the different plot elements didn't really mesh that well.
! Enlightenment - Aliens racing on sailing spaceships. What's not to like. An awesome end to the Black Guardian arc. And speaking of which, I did feel the over-arcing story was pretty weak in that it mostly consisted of Turlough failing or not even trying to kill the Doctor and the Black Guardian subsequently bitching at him.
! The King's Demons - A short and sweet serial. And as for Kamelion, just.....eeehhhhhhhh.
! The Five Doctors - About as great as a reunion special can be. It's just such a bummer that Baker was a no-show (and Damn You Eccleston! for that matter)
! Warriors of the Deep - Often cited as one of the worst Doctor Who episodes and, yeah, there are some pretty dumb parts in it. But, I dunno, I still found it watchable.
! The Awakening - Just...okay, I guess.
! Frontios - Again, just...okay. The pill bug aliens were kind of interesting, I guess. Oh, and of course this contradicts The Pandorica Opens, as far as a destroyed TARDIS destroying the universe, but why should I expect any consistency from Doctor Who?
! Resurrection of the Daleks - Just an ordinary Dalek episode. Nothing that compelling or interesting about it.
! Planet of Fire - Pretty solid episode. We finally get some info on Turlough, the story itself is interesting, and it's one of the better Master episodes. Peri is already proving to be a bit irritating though (god, that fake American accent).
! The Caves of Androzani - Funny story; this was actually the very first Classic Who episode I ever watched, purely by chance. I liked it pretty well back then, and I still like it now. Definitely one of the best Doctor Who episodes. Interesting and captivating characters and plot, and I think the most tense episode of all of Davison's run, especially at the end. Definitely a must-see.

Well, time for the much-loathed run of the 6th Doctor.
Also, I'll post this on the Doctor Who thread.
