Sketch-A-Thon was a success! Some technical issues with Justin.tv's chat.. But otherwise a very fun and exciting experience. I was really happy to know that a few of the people who watched did donated! As promised here are all 15 10 Minute sketches made in order!

http://i43.photobucket.com/albums/e353/Silverbolt00/BreakingBreakfast.jpg
A small side project, "Breaking Breakfast" in which I replace Breaking Bad Characters with cereal mascots, and meth with sugar cereal. Most likely its only going to be first season stuff.
I know One page is going to be discussing who their not going to use berries and they're going to respect the recipe. Another page is going to be "This pure sugar!". And I know Tuco is going to be Tucan Sam with a little bit of Sunny. And instead of Hesienburg, its going to be Kellog.
Hahah I really like the concept of this one! I think I would love to see this as an actual comic! If you happen to not have anything on your agenda, don't forget this idea
Alos thanks to your vid, I feel like playing B-ball with a soccer ball now. Subliminal messages I tell you!The way you describe Indiana uploaded, they seem like pretty cool guys, especially the part where they help other artists with money from their own pockets. Your vid is a nice contribution, I hope they reach their goal!

Well just to update, Indiana Uploaded got a enough points literally seconds before round 2 ended, and made it into Round 3. The final round! Because of this, the contest for Indiana Uploaded's Viral Video campaign was extended, so if you haven't yet, please like this video on
. I could really use the money!I'm gonna drop some info down on what I am currently working on;
I a making a jump from Stevenbrownsblog.com to StevenRayBrown.com. A web friend of mine offered to help me out by making me a word-press site, so I might be doing some site revamping. Which is always exciting! But for those who still want to look at the blog you have to look at it with this url for now; http://startathought.blogspot.com/ And as always you can follow the Facebook or Twitter.
Extended an extra week, still working on that Garden Tower video project. Its rendering as I type, and if the clients stop making changes to it, I should out of the woods soon.
I'm currently working on producing a Jem remake pilot pitch. I'm very excited about it, it has nothing to do with Hasbro, but we're going to pitch it to them. My version includes a younger Jerricka/Jem finding out that price of fame. Basically its going to be a parody of the music industry's choice of using image over substance. I'll be releasing some of the character designs to the web soon.
I'm working on the script for the pilot toon. The toon will be about 5 minutes long, most of which will be a music video, but there will be a small story to get a vibe of what we're going for. I'm excited because I've got some talented people working this with me.
I'm making some finishing touches on the spider cartoon, literally one shot left. I still need to do audio for it, but otherwise its done! You should be seeing that sometime this or next week.
I will be doing another live stream sometime this week for the Indiana Uploaded's round 3. Won't be 3 hours long, maybe 2 hours. I'll keep you updated on that one.
I'm also working on an 1 minute RYE Bread Radio cartoon based off a skit they did on their show. Its really really funny. I'm currently working on the storyboards tonight.
@Tigerlilly, Thanks! I actually sketched out 3 pages of the Breaking Breakfast comic. I just don't know when I'll be able to ink them and color them.
Finally dropped the Community cartoon storyboards on to the web;
You can see them all here.
-
Yesterday I forgot to mention that I'm also going to be in a 49 Hour film competition this or next week, don't rmemeber. I'm doing a 3D animated short with 4 other guys. Our team is the humorously funny named, "Purple Cobras" from Dodge-ball.
Because Indiana Uploaded made it to round 3, and because people keep asking for another one; here is Sketch-a-Thon 2.
-
Just a reminder, tonight I'll be doing a live sketch-a-thon again. I'd love to see some One Piece related stuff requested!
TEASER, on the next animation I'm doing;
-
Lovely man! Love your pieces as always. I don't always post it, but continue the good work.
-
Wow, great work :O
Loving that animated Community clip ! -
Hawkmon in the Tooties Roll Commercial style, based off a conversation with Hawkmon's voice actor Neil Kaplan; more detail here on the blog.
Just a quick warm up! Gonna get a lot done today, I feel it!
-
I haven't been posting nearly as much as I used too, it might be that this year I've been more animation oriented than illustration.
Here's an animatic of something I'm working on;
Here's 5 seconds WIP progress of animation;
I really need to finish that Spider animation. Maybe I should do that today. And I need to do something for Indiana Uploaded's spring animation contest.
I got some of the Sound design stuff done for the Spider Animation. Sadly, my "Roommate" (My mom, haha) came home and makes too much noise for me to record further.
Did a Digi-paint sketch for a friend of mine. She has a bigger following that I do on Facebook and Deviantart, she's Namioki she did me a favor and advertise both my page and my stream and this was a quick thank you.
-
Now for something completely random;
This guy was the only one who took my offer during the Live stream to donate money and print screen proof to get another sketch.
Side Note:
Thursday I'll be going out of town to particpate in an 49 Hour Animation Compo.
This my team;
Ryan Ring, skilled 3D ligter and render artist, works for Fox Indianapolis, Vance Vaden grad of Animation Mentor, Zeb Wood founder of Indiana Uploaded, amazing 3D Artist, Chase Sheild current Animation Mentor senior, and me… uhm I draw good! (Pre-Production Pro) -
Made new Coverimage for facebook.Friend of mine used to do Shades of Green and Scrambled Channel web-comics about his avatar character Meta and his fictional girlfriend Nilla. He just put out another ref sheet for those characters; some how Meta comes out skinnier and skinnier and Nilla gets chubbier with every new ref sheet.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Sorry I keep double posting, I've been doing stuff I can post!
Remember that Jem remake I was talking about doing. The one that hasn't nothing to do with Hasbro. Yea here's the WIP of Kimber, the younger sister of Jerrika (Jem).

Album Art I did has been revealed by Crappy Records! Check out the progression of this piece on the blog; http://www.stevenraybrown.com/2012/03/have-crappy-summer-album-art.html

(gasp)This last weekend I participating in the 49 Hour (Animated) Film Competition… I can't post the our video due to "da rules", but I had a lot of fun and [my team](http://a1.sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-ak-snc7/412314_372697532771197_208881382486147_1087737_195 8120265_o.jpg) did great. We didn't finish completely and probably won't win. BUT, we kicked major ass. Its a 3D animated short about a man having bathroom troubles.
Some updates with Guttamind front.
Episode 2 of Its a Wrap is out;
I have no clue what the episode tells, I only did the backgrounds and did character design. And… I haven't watch it.Also working on a 2.O of his website;
![](http://sphotos.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/528746_373530719354545_208881382486147_1090401_164 3652272_n.jpg)
That's a small piece of it. -
Super Hero-ish version of a friend of mine.
-
Guess who's working on a live action adaption of Static Shock?
-
After chatting with Akeem from Rye Bread we're shifting gears with the animated version of the Rye Bread cast;
Going from tradtional like this;
To more experimental like this;
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
More Boards from the Static Shock live action adaption. Keep in mind I did these in 3 in the morning...
-
Apparently I'm going to be doing a lot of Character Design lately. First for the Rye Bread Radio dude's webcomic, and the second for a guy with a web show that wanted a toon of him.
-
Some comparison shots from Sketch to Finish of those Its-A-Wrap videos.A little work in progress.
–- Update From New Post Merge ---
Some Color test for the Rye Bread Radio Animation/Web comics.
-
Crappy Demo Reel is crappy.
-
More Static boards!
-
Donkey Kong inspired fan art.
RYE BREAD COMIC STUFF;
Working on RYEBread Tshirt ideas.
And a comparison between the original and my revamped flash model for Lil Wayne from Its a Wrap.
Also some Ghostbuers sketches;
Based off the Western Kentucky Ghostbusters.
-
Felt Nostalgic and went through the blog. I found these and thought you guys wouldn't mind revisiting some old work.
Story boards for a animation project I had to do once. Based off Blackbeard and Luffy.
Highlights from my first storyboards ever.Trying to do character design practice, a friend do one based off plastic surgery;
Yeo Walter (named after Walter Yeo the first person sited to have plastic surgery) is a woman who just wanted to be pretty to impress a man. She was tricked into letting a psychopath nip and tuck at her skin to fix her imperfections. Lovely girl turn Frankenstein wife.
Here's some more sketches from like…. 2 years ago...
The following one was another character design exercise where someone was like old and loves animals.
And finally bookend this post with more storyboards. This was from my first group effort, it never got finished.
Something more relevante, I had to edit Guttamind's mascot into the scene of the hologram Tupac.

http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/550590029/garden-tower-project-a-breakthrough-in-home-food-p I helped out this kick-starter. The catch is that I only get paid 3,000 from this commission if they make their goal. That aside, if can't donate you should spread it as the actual kickstarter project is pretty neat!

Here's some exciting news;
A Youtube channel I did the branding for was launched yesterday. N00B vs PRO is a new channel created by Outback Zack a new friend of mine. There's literally no videos yet and is 25 subscribers short from having 500. Very exciting, I would like to think it was because of the above image, but most likely its because of Outback Zack's, Tim's (the N00B), and Aaron's (Pro) followers.
Bowling for Soup has put my illustrations on Tshirts and Posters that are finally in their UK Store.Zombie and Nappa ponies. A promise I made for someone to donate to the Brackets for Good. They came out alright. This is the second MLP thing I've ever drawn.
A quick sketch of Alison Brie.
And Finally now image yet. But The Rye Bread Radio Comic is official announced. Start this Friday each Friday there will be a new strip. Written by Akeem Lawanson, and illustrated by myself. Its part of their 7 Days of the week update system;
Thursday: Live Radio Show
Friday: New Comic Strip
Saturday: Live Radio Show
Sunday: Live Radio Show
Monday: Thursday's Episode Download Released
Tuesday: Saturday's Episode Download Released
Wednesday: Sunday's Episode Download ReleasedThursday - Sunday new content! And Monday - Wednesday will be archived episodes.
-
I'm on the project, AniMEME for Outback Zack.
-
Sometimes I pretend to be artsy….
-
Still need to add some stuff, but getting close to finish on this one.
-
Now that looks crisp dude.
-
I feel bad for having never said anything before, but your stuff is great and I'm gonna chip in too to say that that's nice. Not the dexter piece specifically because that's the standard pallette of the show itself, but I always like your color usage
And your stuff is really fluid and fun
-
Thanks guys, both of you. And don't feel bad, I need to start commenting on the other threads. I have a tough time responding to peoples stuff outside of "That's cool!"
I'mma gonna wait to show the final version of the Avengers pic to correspond with the movie's release date.
I'm also gonna post links to the sketches and only post the finish stuff from this page on. To help out those with a slow connection. I tend to post a lot and I can see how that could be harsh on someone's internet.
-
Since I don't plan on doing anything further with this, here's a quick minute sketch of Zed from Zardoz. I saw it for the first time at a midnight movie.
-
Finally done!
The full size file is 27x40 Inches big. I might make prints.
-
Today was the first "Sunday Sketch Requests" I'm doing on tumblr. Only one person requested a sketch today, I set out the time to do 5. I'm going to do it again next Sunday, in hopes I get more. I made it exclusively to Tumblr followers this week thinking I'd get atleast 5.
Well here's the only one… Jesus riding on a Night Fury.
-
:OOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooo
I'm so sending a request for this week. I'm going to do so right now in fact.
-
I went a head and did it real quick. Since technically still half hour before Monday haha.
-
Dude. That was quick. Love it!
I should… send another one just for the hell it. Maybe not.
Nah I won't. -
Go ahead and send it, I won't do it til Sunday.

Alright, so I'm going to start selling prints/posters through Society6. Now the Jusitce Friends poster can be printed as big as 27x40" and I plan on making more posters such as a remake of Danny Phantom vs. the Ghost Busters (a vertical remake of an previous version) and a City of Townsville styled version of Louisville cityscape (okay.. this is more for local people…)
The question is what sizes would you guys want future posters to be, AND how much are you guys willing to pay for these. Please let me know, this stuff is for you.
-
Here's piece number 2 for the Parody movie posters series I'm doing.
-
This post is deleted!
-
Thanks, I think.
Side note finally opened a Society 6 account; http://society6.com/StevenRayBrown

16bit Fan Art based off the new video game episode.
-
Remember a few months ago I participated in a 49 Hour Animation competition? The above is the work of myself and 4 other fanimators/artist and their efforts put together to make an animated short based off the theme "Panic". The story is the brainchild of Ryan Wing (Texture, Lightning, and Render Artist) and Vance Vanden (One of 2 Main Animators, Story Artist); with Myself (Preproduction, Back up animator and texture artist), Chase Shield (Animator, Story artist), and Zeb Wood (Texture, Rig, and Render Artist) help shape the story.
! I created the storyboards and helped with the animatic, designed the drag queens, helped textured their clothes and textured both the faces. I also animated the drag queens and one shot of the male hero.
-
And here's a trailer to a project I've helping with. From OutbackZack (Yo Mama, N00b vs Pro) its aniMEME. All the popular memes voiced animated!
Someone drew me.
-
Sorry I haven't been posting be really busy. I've been doing a lot of animation work lately… which takes time... and depending on the project isn't fun to show stuff. Well... here's a background to one of them...
So I am at the moment in the talks of working full-time as an animator. Its either for an online website, or an company that's prime time. Nothing is for sure, but both contacted ME first. So that's always good.
EDIT: For the Community fans, I got interviewed on Danharmonsucks.com http://www.danharmonsucks.com/2012/06/09/interview-illustratoranimator-steven-ray-brown/#more-2135

Trying to land a gig doing webcomics for someone. Asked for examples… gave them some examples.
