Its very different from Love Hina. Trust me. At the first 2 volumes, it will be more of a introduction but as it arrives in volume 3, it will start revolving more around the Shonen wizard battle genre with a mix of fan-service at times but its different from Love Hina.

Love Hina had a lot of repetitive scenes, like Naru punching Keitaro into the stratosphere. That doesn't happen in Negima…

Manga Update! Del Rey's translation of Mahou Sensei Negima Volume 9 is out in stores today.

@Malintex: When you said Pinochio, I'm guessing you meant Chachamaru would wish herself into a girl if it did happen. That really sounds like a good concept. I hope it does happen. It would kick ass to see what she would look like as a real person.

Why couldn't the anime adaption of Negima have been like the Promotional special?

If anyone does not know of the promo special that aired before Xebex worked on it, here's a screenshot from it.

The character desgins and color texture looked way better..

Negima is probably one of my favorite manga's now ^_^ I found this thread a week ago and read all the manga in 3 days (which is amazing when you stack the time it takes to download/do my homework…) I will probably actually go out and buy the manga now.

I have a feeling that maybe Negi will break Yui's fall, but that may be too predictable.

I hope the anime remake is better and ties in good with the first season.

The thing I really did like about the first season, though, was the music. I loved the opening song. =)

I consider myself a lot like a mix between Nodoka and Yue, so I've taken a liking to them ^^ Hakase is also pretty funny..
What's your favorite arc?
I don't know if you'd consider it an arc, but I really liked the chapter where Asuna does her 'practice date' with Negi.
And how did you read the manga from beggining to current within 3 days?

Although Nadoka is one of my favorite characters, I much prefer the obvious Negi x Asuna relationship =) It's comical, and that's why I like it.

Negi (he is 10 after all <3)… so he has his moments

Bloody…haha, Eva's a vampire. snicker

Oh, and just because Chachamaru doesn't have her mechanical parts, doesn't mean she's useless in a fight. She's powered by magic, so it's safe to assume she is capable of using magic if she became a normal girl; furthermore, she still has all the fighting schematics in her brain, as well as empirical data on Negi's physical techniques. Though Chachamaru may not be physically able to keep up with her old self, and she can feel pain, she's hardly useless.

However, I would also like the same to happen with Chachamaru if she were to be turned into a real girl.

She'd have more emotions of love deep inside her towards Negi if she was human.

I just want to point out that the pactio cards done by Akamatsu durring the anime are the following students:

So I guess from now on, from the list of characters above who do a pactio, that will be the official card.

The other students' cards are unkown because the others were done by Xebex and those types are unofficial.

Good point there. We do know that she was a Minister Magi, but what about her old days as one?

You know, when she was traveling with her partner maybe…

But I remember a quote from Mana in volume 11 when she was with Chao: "I feel hated by the kid..."

She probably realizes Negi is afraid of her and she didn't accept Chao's reward becuase she felt guilty of her actions.

Plus its betreying his trust.

Paulie, a question...Do you think Lingshen Chao will learn her lesson at the end of this arc?

But I really hope for some interesting character development…. with some interesting characters.

For some character devolpment, I hope for Mana.

She seems a bit without emotion at times. But only at the mood part, I hope for a development.

Either way, I still hope Chao will learn her lesson. If she continuesscrewing around the mages, bad things can happen.

No matter what happens, there will be a time Chao's plans will lead to bad things.

That's why I want her to learn from her mistakes. I'm just concerned for her future.

Right now she is messing around the mages and that could lead to many conspiracies against her from other mages outside Japan.

Some groups might try to "take her out" for good.

Now think Paulie, what if Chao was doing the same thing in One Piece but not involving mages but the World Goverment and her plans somehow slipped?

After thinking, just imagine the same thing above except this time, its with all the mages. What do you think will happen?

Remember, not all mages in Mahou Sensei Negima are good guys. There can be many out there with vicous minds.

Some that might even surpass Eva. You never know what to expect in the world of mages.

Most likely we'll have a one shot; Akamatsu needs one more chapter to finish volume fourteen.

The RAW next week will probably involve a transition to the next storyline in the current arc.

Do you read "Looney Tunes Theory"? It explains that certain characters are "winners" and others are "losers"; basically, the winners are perfect and never get outsmarted/beaten unless in conflict against another winner. Losers are always beaten up.

In this instance, Chao is the winner of winners; I doubt she'll ever get punished because she's forseen all her possible troubles.

Of course Chao is a winner of all characters. Sorry 'bout that Malintex.

I hope "Nagi" Springfield is on the cover. Fox-Girl Negi was, so "Nagi" would be absolutely glorious!

@Malintex: Wait…The Nagi VS Negi pic was in volume 13. However, Ako and older Negi in their wedding cosplay in the contest stage sounds like a good cover. Then younger Chiu, older Kotaro, and bunny suit Chachamaru can watching in the background. Same with the library trio. And then the back cover girl can be Haruna XD.

However here's my speculation for volume 14's cover. How about Ako and older Negi in the rock concert stage with the cheerleader trio, older Kotaro, Chiu, Chachamaru in the background. Then the library trio watching from the audience. How's that sound?

Any more ideas?

I don't think your sister was necessarily a jerk? I mean she probably thought you'd like it, but was wrong. How does that make her a jerk?

Sorry, being an older sister myself, I have to ask.

Anyways, if you think it's boring, that's totally cool. You don't have to read it. Myself, I think it moves quite quickly compared to other series. Unlike other series, fights usually don't last longer than 2 or 3 chapters, where in others they can last 10+, and the non fight scenes are what make it good, IMHO.

Lets discuss RAW 129.

So its not Nightmare Circus or a Natsumi chapter, eh?

Its a chapter before Asuna has her date with Takamichi.

Plus, more Misora, Mei, and Takane goodness.

They were suppose to date at the 3rd day but Takahata said the 3rd day will be busy since they're hunting Chao down so the date was moved earlier.

Thus it begins the end of volume 14 and into 15.
