Doctor Who

They have seen aliens before. Also, we don't exactly know what year it is set in as of yet. The whole Amy timeline is a bit confusing. What year did he first meet her? He met her again 12 years later, and then re-appeared 2 years later.
Yes, I know they've seen aliens, I said that. I've seen a car before, but I f a car was about to run me over at 100 miles an hour I'd freak out. Are you seriously telling me that because people have seen a few types of alien" they're NOT going to freak out when a Giant SnowFlake Evil Overlord levitating talking Eye flies above their head saying he's going to burn the earth, because "they've seen the alienz before" ?
1996 > 2008 > 2010
There's actually a lot of speculation over that, but yes, I think you are quite right there. We've got Blackberries and phones etc, to confirm those dates.
BUT I don't know if any of you noticed, there's been a lot of confusion over a scene in the stopmotion sequence. Rory's medical ID says DATE ISSUED: November 3rd 1990.Also, the crack will be very relevant in later episodes, as will the pandorica, and Silence will fall.

Maybe they didn't truely comprehend the level of danger they were actually in.

just a question
don't you guys (some may be girls and some may be guys pretending to be girls i dont give a **** neway) get bored of Dr Who? It's basically a show that repeats itself
e.g In this series Matt Smith will encounter the Daleks at some point just like Tennant etcthat's why i just watch the specials christmas easter etc
! Matt Smith sucks and so does Karen Gillan
Last episode was shite -

I honestly don't know what this means.
But, nevermind that. To answer your question, your view is a bit too simplified. Every show tends to repeat itself. Each show has it's basic premise and plays with it. In the case of "Doctor Who" we have new stories connected into bigger story-lines, new enemies, new companions and friends, and even "new" Doctors. And yes, sometimes we get old friends and old enemies. But to me, that's one of the charms of the show. We don't get to see the Daleks, Cybermen, Davros or the Master very often. But they'll always be there, because they're part of the Doctor, his character, his history. Without the Daleks or the Master, you wouldn't have Doctor Who.
Speaking of shows that repeat themselves, have you ever seen Pokemon? Now there's a show to complain about.

Last episode was shiteHaha ! Very funny. No, actually, wait … it's not.
It's been well loved enough to have stayed on TV for 45 years. It's starred 11 different main roles. All now Iconic.
It's just undergone a major revamp, so i don't know what the fuck you're talking about.
If you say that you clearly did not watch 11th Hour because it's completely different to the past 5 years.Matt Smith does not suck, and I'm surprised you know Karen Gillan's name. Tennant hasn't been the only Doctor, you know.
And you clearly must be a Tennant FanGirl and nothing more, because Doctor Who doesn't have Easter Specials. -

Tennant fangirl i may be i admit that but i also know eccleston
why have the last two assistants been ginger i ask you sir? Yes i will allow catherine tate to play the role of donna noble? But why do we need another what is the world coming to.
I thought the eleventh hour was an easter special just goes to show how little i know about the show. But considering last year when tennant and michelle ryan did an ep around the same time has just confused me more.
! the reason i know so much is because a close friend of mine is a fan and from his recommendations i have seen a few eps
! P.S i'm sure doctor who is a gr8 show that i probably would see in another life (or am watching in a parallel world within gallifreys walls o_O
! and dont give me shit about one piece repetition, the strawhats seperation was one of the best things to happen and at least i see can see one piece coming to an end whereas who knows when doctor who will end? Only time will tell. (pun not intended but intended at the same time) -
36 years then. Care much about your opinion?
You've just admitted to being a Tennant-Fangirl. That really says all there is to say. You're not even a fan of the show.
There are no Easter Specials "Tennant did tehz Eps last yere!" - Doctor Who alwasy starts at Easter …Here's to a long and prosperous Doctor Who, with success better than any bigtime American show.
35 Years? Here's to 35 more .
the reason i know so much is because
You know nothing about Doctor Who …

You know nothing about Doctor Who …

Would you not agree that i know more than most who have seen 5 episodes?
btw you should really stop getting your hopes up for smith he's just not as charismatic as tennant and when he tries to be … eww
on a side note RTD has gone right?
! also u FAILED to notice i wrote assistants earlier which most would've corrected as companions, just goes to show doesn't it

Listen Sally, Tennant's my favourite Doctor but Matt's gonna be awesome, which anyone who watched his episode would note.
And how did I "fail to notice you wrote assistants?" - It's a forum, I'm not your fucking English Teacher. And don't tell me "what to get my hopes up for" you Noob. I've seen Smith act.
It shows nothing. And I don't base my favourite Doctors on looks, Tenntznmbr1gal.
You're clearly not even a fan, so you should just stop trolling. -
Matt Smith is great. Simply great. I've seen all of the Doctors and always knew that Matt Smith would be great simply because they're just not gonna pick a new Doctor who they don't think would be just as good.
People REALLY need to stop putting Tennant on a Pedestal. ESPECIALLY whiny fangirls who've yet to see an episode of the classic series. While yes he was a great Doctor but hell. ALL of them have been great. Some a little more than another. And hell. Some of Tennant's episodes (Love + Monsters, Fear Her, Unicorn + Wasp, Sontaran 2 Parter, Partners in Crime, Wars of Mars, Next Doctor, Desert one. Can't remember the name. About the Bus.) were pretty boring, some certain ones jabbing at terrible.
As for the whole 'Doctor Who will get boring.' um….has the past 46 + 1/2 been nothing but repeats? I think not. And considering DW has a team of writers each with varying styles means we get a nice change of a story every week.

Oh now come on, I actually think that the Sontaran Strategem, Partners in Crime, The Next Doctor and Planet of the Dead were fairly solid stories.
Tooth & Claw, Evolution of the Daleks, Fires of Pompei, Last of the Timelords (except Utopia), The Doctor's Daughter and Voyage of the Damned were all far FAR worse.
David Tennant was a good Doctor but not nearly as good as some in the past. He might have been most people's first but there were eight people playing the part BEFORE 2005.
I've said it before and I'll say it again. You people should give the classic stuff more of a go!
-
I mainly look at stories that I an watch over and over without getting bored. the likes of Sontarans, Partners in Crime and Next Doctor just didn't work for me the second time over.
I can't understand the hate for Doctor's Daughter tho. The Hath were absolutely brilliant and saved it for me.
That and Georgia Moffet is hot.

The Hath were good if not a bit typical and Georgia Moffet's dialogue was far too CBBC for my liking.
The premise was good but everything to do with Jenny was just ridiculous
-
I do think the idea for the Doctor having a Daughter was ridiculous. And I think most fans hated the idea as soon as the idea was brought up.
I do however think it was pulled off a lot better than I was expecting. The only thing I didn't like was the army guys (the old guy and the skins guy.) both were just far too annoying.
-

I hated the episode purely for Martha's awful scream crying at one of the Hath drowning.
-

THIS. Entirely this.
I like David Tennant. I like Freema Ageyman. I like Georgia Moffett (alot) But Martha knew the Hath barely
5 minutes, and she screamed more than when her husband was shot in LOTTL ! -
Good heavens, it's the demon headmaster.
-
Hmmm. Quite a fun episode. Was kinda disappointed about the Smilers tho. I thought they'd be more awesome than they were.
The whole concept of the story was pretty brilliant tho and I'm loving the way it was connected to the next ep just like the good ol days.
Matt really did seem like his own unique Doctor this time tho. Moreso from the last.
-
2nd episode and i daresay Matt Smith is by far my favourite doctor since the revamp! He entertains me alot more than Eccleston and Tennant combined! :D
-
Did anyone find the notion that 1) Haiti and Niger have better tech than the UK in 1000 years, along with the rest of the world.
2) The rest of the world would abandon the UK to die. And we're cool with that. From what I know, decent episode.
-
Weak weak weak episode. Strong acting throughout but it was far too short, left most things unexplained and wrapped up all too conveniently.
Moffat's worst script for the show yet. Utterly forgettable. Hopefully the rest of the season will end up better
-
I'm lookin forward to the Daleks episode. I wonder how they survived this time around? Those things just never seem to die.
-
So saw the double parter of the London Child Zombie thing. The ending was so good and happy!!! EVERYONE LIVES!!! Even cool Captain Jack!!! Been a while since television made me jump around in joy and scream like a ninny. So awesome that Jack joined the team. I doubt it'll happen but I hope he doesn't go the way of that fuckhead Adam. But like I said I doubt it, the Doctor really seems to trust him already and he's already proven himself to be able to do the right thing when it counts and be all around awesome.
-
The second episode was a blunt reference to the Big Brother novel, but quite enjoyable.
One problem I have with the episode is whether there were any point in those smilers at all. And shouldn't we be concerned about those smiler/human hybrids? I mean, they threw away their humanity to be able to turn their head around and basically do stuff that a normal human being can do…
... but WITH the scary smiler face!!
On a more positive note, Matt is AWESOME!

Oh yeah. That was a great 2 parter. I hope we get to see Captain Jack again with the new doctor next season, since its pretty obvious he wonj't be in this season.
-
As much as I love Jack. I'd rather not see him again anytime soon unless its Torchwood.
-
I'd rather not see him OR Torchwood again
-
I'd rather not see him OR Torchwood again
Nooooo. He must return.
Also, i think i am gonna end up loving Amy. I really do like her.
-
Pretty much amazingness itself.
Need I say anymore?
-
It was a good episode. Had its flaws. The new Daleks….look interesting..although I dun like the colours. Its interesting that a few Daleks managed to survive from "The parting of ways" I wonder how they managed to escape b4 Rose destroyed them....
More interesting is the fact that Amy had no recollection of the events from "The Stolen Earth/A Journey's End".
I'm looking forward to the next 1st of this seasons 2 parter. The Weeping Angels are back. I can't wait to see em.
-
The colours are a result of the bbc being short of cash, they want mulitple daleks that they can sell as toys and so forth.
-

And people like me will buy them with no regrets. Then again. its nothing new really. Every Dalek ep has been perfect fodder for new toys:
Dalek: Had a new Dalek design. Mutant Reveal Dalek also released.
Parting of Ways/BadWolf: Dalek Emperor, Dalek with Torch Cutter Arm, Emperor Dalek Guards
Army of Ghosts/Doomsday: Dalek Sec, Cult of Skaro, Genesis Arc
Evolution of the Daleks: Dalek Sec Human, Pig Slaves, Lazlo, Damaged Dalek Thay
Stolen Earth/Journey's End: Davros, Supreme Dalek, Crucible Dalek
Victory of the Daleks: WW2 Daleks, Supreme Dalek, Coloured Daleks.
Although considering they have quite a backlog of Daleks yet still to be made into toys…and I want them too...
Although its not as bad as releasing the same char over and over again like the OP merch does.
-
So apparently, each of the colours have their own role. White= supreme. Blue= scientist red= drone
the other 2 are Eternal & strategist, i forget which is which.I wonder if the Daleks will have any part in this Pandorica storyline or…maybe they'll be saved for next season. I p[ersonally hope its the latter. We already had Daleks last season, so maybe the next.
-
watching the marathon on BBCamerica today
watching:
Water of Mars,End of Time and 2 episodes titled The Eleventh Hour and The Ultimate Guide–------------------------------------------------------
I missed the episode i saw weeks ago,Journeys end,and Dead Planet -

Um…..
! Hasn't at least one Dalek been confirmed for the series finale? Also depends if they're working the games into canon too.
But yeah. Overall it was like this for me:
First I thought there was too much for one episode but after thinking over it again. It was quite a nice change to be honest. Especially after the slow episode last week.
Spitfires in Space? Yes. I like my Doctor Who to be bonkers.
While yes when I first saw them I expected a message saying 'Now Available in a variety of colours' appear on the screen but quickly settled into it once you realise what they're doing is giving the Daleks an empire once more. No more of that 'OH NOES! THE DALEKS ARE BACK AFTER WE KILLED EVERY SINGLE LAST ONE!' crap in the future.
Matt Smith was pretty much awesome. Especially when he lost it and attacked the Daleks with the spanner.
My only complaint was the 'disarming the bomb with the power of love!' thing. Seemed a bit…odd.
-
You know what was the best thing.
The shoddy daleks letting themselves be destroyed.
-
Anybody else get this really strange feeling of nostalgia when the new daleks showed up! Im wondering what it was hmmmm….
!

I've not heard anything about Daleks being in the finale and yes the Moff has confirmed that the games ARE canon.
Matt was again great but the episode was far too short. Again. This should definately have been a two parter. Whereas last weeks felt more like a Big Finish, the pacing of this made it feel like a DWM comic. Nothing wrong with that - it's just that it was all build up for nothing really happening.
The story was so so but dare I say that since The Eleventh Hour, the series has been a little disappointing so far? As much as I hate to draw a parallel, Rose had done so much more and been a lot better developed in three episodes than Amy has been. Nice to see her doing a particularly nice load of fuck all in this weeks episode. Still, next weeks is a two parter so hopefully that will sort out the pacing issues.
As for the much debated new Dalek design - dear god I love them. I really do. It's the 60's Daleks all over.
-
So the old Daleks are officially 'extinct', eh? Well, this new design is most welcome for me… Bulkier, more powerful... And psychadelic! Just a question... Where did these ones come from? The Parting of the Ways Dalek fleet (impure DNA) or the Stolen Earth (Kaled DNA?) - Plus, the whole 'forgotten Daleks' thing… What do you all make of it? I think they've already begun altering history - or it could be this 'Pandorica' wotsit... Maybe it's both! :P
On another note, I want my Mondasian Cybermen back! DX
But with these fractures in time and space, the Cybusmen seem likely to return (Please don't tell me it's confirmed...) -
The Old Daleks aren't extinct - these are the very original Daleks. And they'll be back for the finale too.
@CalMC, the Cybermen were supposed to be redesigned to be Mondasian for the finale, inside the Pandorica, however
Steven Moffat ended up just ordering the RTD Era Cybes to be reused because the Budgets didn't allow for a Cyberman Redesign. Also, yes the new Daleks colours each relate to their role within the Dalek Hierarchy - Orange is Scientist, etc.
Also, think carefully about the TARDIS. All I'm saying.
Oh yeah, and this game is free btw, incase you're wondering. Internet Download. -

Thanks for clearing that up, I was a bit muddled is all - So the impure Kaled-Daleks have been totally replaced with these more powerfully armoured versions of the originals. And thanks also for the Cyberman info, it's a damn shame though.
…4 in the morning... Need sleep. Thanks again, Flux.

Hmm…accordin to the doctor who wiki....they are from the daleks frm the war in the medusa cascade.
Although i don't understand how these daleks could be considered impure???
Davros created them from himself. Daleks are what the Kaleds would eventually become aren't they?? I just figured that impure dalek could sumhow be a reference to the ones from bad wolf/parting of ways
Another note....the Dalek asking " would you like some tea" really killed me for some reason. There's something I never thought i'd hear a Dalek saying.
-
They're impure because they were created secifically from Davros' DNA cells.
And anyway, even in old who there were certain factions that considered Davros'
Daleks to be "impure" anyway. -

stop RIGHT THERE. Not official, no evidence to back that up.
I think the whole thing with the Daleks is that it didnt really matter where which point they came from, just that what happened, happened
Also, just like before - It seems next weeks episode doesn't happen in the right order for the Doctor.

He could easily mutate kaled into dalek.
