I'm with you on the stupidity of Akuma's 2nd Ultra, though. A lot of the bonus Ultras are pretty lame, but some of them are awesome enough to make me forgive them (Balrog).

Yes, she is that memorable, her laugh cracks me up all the time ! She has a One Piece laugh. Like a One Piece character, she is very eccentric. Her animations are so funny.

She is the first rich young girl who wants to be a fighter. She is antic cliché like Sakura.

Interesting, Karin first appearance was in "Sakura Ganbaru !". A manga written by Masahiko Nakahira. Capcom loved her character so much that she was added to Street fighter alpha 3. Besides, SF4 makes a lot of reference to the manga. Yes Karin is the equivalent of Ken and Sakura is the equivalent of Ryu.

The same author has written two other street fighter manga one is "Street fighter Alpha". The idea of Evil Ryu was inspired from this story.

The other one is a master piece called "Ryu final". It is the conclusion of Ryu's endless quest of becoming the ultimate warrior. It ends up with a final showdown with Akuma/Gouki the man that killed his master and his opposite in belief. They have a similar relationship to Zoro vs Mihawk.

SF3 rd strike makes a lot of reference to the manga as well and SF4 as well.

They are available at Udon entertainment.

It is very hard to find a scanlation of it.

Err as much as I would've liked for Karin to be in SSF4, I wonder if part of the reason she wasn't added might have to do with royalties to Masahiko Nakahira, since he actually created her for his Sakura manga series?
I don't think that would've been an issue though since they do at least include the creator of Strider Hiryu in the credits for any game he appears in.
At any rate, if she were in, she'd prob. play something like Abel assuming she gets more mobility on her moves.

Ibuki and Makoto pale in personality, story and originality. They are cute but nothing extremely memorable.

I think the main issue is gameplay. Maybe because Gouken counter system is too similar. They have to rethink her gameplay and make balance.

I guess most people base the coolness of a character only on the gameplay. i judge a character in all of its dimension. For example, people tell you should take Ken instead of Akuma because it is easier to win. i do not care, he is such an interssting character that I do not give a damn about the gameplay issue.

I even have the guts to take Dan hibiki because he is so funny. Beating people with Dan is so cool.

I am more on the personality than the gameplay. I also love Gen. he is so awesome and stylish. he is hard as hell to master but it his presence that makes me want to take him.

Nah it's not her counters; as powerful as Gouken's counters are they can be risky, and if your opponent knows what to do, then Gouken's counters would be the least of their worries.

i honestly do not mind if Makoto, ibuki and Dudley are added. They are decent characteres.

Ibuki and makoto are a 100 percent sure to be there. Udon is promoting Ibuki and makoto. Coinicdentally, they were promoting Guy and Cody before they were officially anounced.

Akuma was able to use his 3rd strike attack in alpha 2. He destroyed the island to prove to Ryu the difference in strenght between them.

I am hoping the anime sequences will be better.

I still think that the Alpha 2 endings were the best.

Also as a V-Day gift there is gonna be 2 new trailers up on the 2/13 at 10am Japan time so it will be up late friday.

However, I am still waiting for an anime of "Ryu final" manga which depicts Ryu's final quest that concludes with a battle with Akuma. It is that good.

Not till Street Fighter 5 makes it the last time Ryu be the main character. That will make the manga seem odd to end at 3S since they would continued on after that.

Honestly, I have been waiting to play the final fight between Ryu and Akuma for decades. Just for this reason it is enough to make a new game.

This is like waiting for Mihawk vs Zoro.

Juri has a weird eye but it seems to enhance her power and anticipate the moves. It looks like a Sharingan that is cheap. Boy, I remember playing Super street fighter turbo 2 and the cpu was anticipating my every moves on the easiest difficult level. :sad:.

Akuma is so stylish. The Shun Goku Satsu is one of the coolest attack ever. I am one of his greatest fans.

Overrall, I think the artistic trailers of the previous edition were better. They are less overdoing it.

I'm conflicted since pretty much every new or additional character makes me want to pick them up and make my new main (with the exception of Guy).

I'm really, really interested in trying Juri after seeing alot of her fights in action, Cody looks fun as hell, as does Dee Jay, even T.Hawk looks like one big, damaging, gargantuan motherfucker.

On top of all that, They supposedly powered up Guile's attacks a fairly decent amount and he's got the Sonic Hurricane Ultra.

I plan to main Guy, Chun and Makoto. But all of the new characters look really fun to play with.

What the hell are you talking about? I'm pretty sure 3rd Strike is the one that everybody on the Internet fawns over. Its the Final Fantasy VI of Street Fighter.

Also 3D fightings were more popular because they looked more realistic. However, 2D games age very well.

I heard that fans considered alpha to be the true succesoor because their favourite characters were there. I still remember the Ryu boss fight when I had Sagat. This fight was pure epicness with the thunder plains which is a tribute to the movie.

Akuma challenging Ryu to surpass him and we learn why Ryu's quest seems endless. Sakura's ending was sad and nostalgic.

Even SF4 lacks this kind of endings. Alpha 2 will always have the best endings of the serie.

I mean Gouken's shin shoryuken is impressive and over the top. You are like it is gonna hurt like hell. Now it sounds more rather ridicilous and comic with the spins.

SF4 ultras tended to be like that. Only Seth ultra was somehow stupid with the sceen. Cody tries to break the 4th wall as well.

I doubt it since it's a different story of how Capcom tells it. Plus it's an adaptation of the game not Canon. The game has one story as the Manga/Anime stuff has a different way of telling it.

Unfortunately, Capcom does not really care about the story and they are more on the fight.

Yes this is a fighting game. It has to focus more on how it plays over how the story goes. As long as the story isnt bad it will do fine.

Yes this is a fighting game. It has to focus more on how it plays over how the story goes. As long as the story isnt bad it will do fine.

That's why I am hoping that the next King of Fighters games really focuses on story. It seems to me that SF sells just fine without having a story but KoF suffers when it has none (I never even bought XII yet :X)
