I love T-Hawk being announced and all but for the love of god, make this an expansion too! Not just an entirely new title! Or if they do, allow a trade in of 40-50 dollars to Capcom in exchange for the new title and let your purchased costumes come over. That would probably make to much sense though so it won't happen. Still…banking on it being available as an expansion to SFIV.

Oh, I was thinking of buying SFIV with me getting a PS3 and making it my first SF I ever played. But if they're already making a new one, I might as well wait. Same reason I'm not buying Dragonball Z: Burst Limit.

Capcom today have announced Super Street Fighter IV, a new, standalone title which is Street Fighter IV with eight new characters added and some tweaks made based on community feedback.
Of the eight characters, three have been announced: classic characters T. Hawk and Dee Jay (Dee Jay's reveal coming in the latest issue of Famitsu, below), and newcomer Juri. The rest could be anyone; new characters, old favourites, a mix of the two. We have no idea!
In terms of improvements to the game itself, producer Yoshinori Ono says that every character has been changed slightly based on comments from both players and the dev team, while an improved online experience is also promised. Which begs the question: why an all-new title, and not just a range of DLC? Ono says the changes are so extensive that they couldn't just be tacked on, so a disc release was necessary. Those crying "RIP OFF" should know that the game "won't be sold at full price", and that those owning both the original and Super will are in store for an as-yet-unspecified treat.
It's due in Spring 2010 for the PS3 and 360. We'll ask what's up with the PC version.

Them releasing it at a discount price surprised me. Why? Because LittleBigPlanet's Game of the Year edition is just the same game but with tweaks and downloadable content already on it and it's retailing for $59.99. I guess I'll wait till spring and get this, I'm in no hurry. I'm not big on fighting games anyhoo.

. Not that I would care about Rolento but if that's really true and not a joke or something then it sounds like… an odd reason.Actually, I'm really surprised there will be eight characters. That's alot. Sounds like a cool deal. I wish it would had been a DLC expansion, since it's year 2009 and all but whatever.

I really liked playing as Dee Jay in SSF2 and HD Remix. Gameplay-wise, I always felt he was way underrated. I'm glad to see the rest of the SSF2T cast in SF IV!
And this Juri girl seems pretty cool. And really, really flexible. Seriously.

No arcade version has me pretty bummed though, as there's one near me that I would have traveled to to play while waiting for console.

IGN's got a new interview with Ono up on their site. Some new things he mentioned were that all characters would be unlocked from the start, the arcade video intro and endings would be redone since fans and reviewers weren't really fond of them, they're looking into expanding heavily on the online front, etc. They posted a text interview and a video interview. He also said that he was interested in doing a next gen Dark Stalkers game with the SFIV engine and said that everyone should send a rant to Capcom so that game could maybe happen. Sounds awesome to me!

^that's all wonderful news. I'm really glad about them redoing the intros and endings as I too felt those were seriously lacking.

Ono said that the plan is 8. It could be only 6 or 7. But hey, even if it's only 6 I'd be all over this anyway. My big questions are what other returning SF characters other than T.Hawk and Dee Jay will show up and what the bonus will be for SF IV owners that pick up a new copy.
Also, assuming that there will be 8 new characters, here is my hope: Dee Jay, T. Hawk, Makoto, Dudley, Ibuki, Juri, and 2 other new characters. That would make my year.

I've seen that rumor before, even before SSF4's official announcement, about Hakan the grappler, Breathless, Yogi Shangri-La, Sonic Hurricane, etc. I just didn't like Guy or Cody in SFA3; I always thought of those two as Final Fight characters. My last post was just my hope.

Okey, that definity makes the rumors more believable.
But I still wouldn't get my hopes up for getting more characters than eight. Eight is already quite a lot. And, yeah, "eightish" might even mean less than eight characters too
. But I would really love it if that list ended up being true. Seems like a great, diverse line up. Way better than I could had dared to hope for. -

Guy,Cody and Adon are confirmed.
Also if you notice Guy blocking an attack on the top right it's a Kunai. This brings more light that the last 3 characters Ibuki is gonna be in it.

Actually I saw heard this last week. The confirmed new characters are Cody, Guy, Adon, Dudley, Makoto, and an Arab dude named, Hasan who's obsessed with oil.

So far the rumor list has been proven more real leaving that Ibuki, Makoto, Dudley and Hakkan will be the last characters revealed.
