Aw, man… I gotta take a break from grindin' mah villains?!
Also, Warrior of Light's story mode is as fucking dull as he is...!

I forgot to post mine.
Main: Firion. Started out meh, but his Reel Axe is broken. Long range, two chances to hit, pulls in opponent, and can transition into a HP Attack.
He only had Straightarrow at first, but then Shield Bash and Weaponsmaster came in. Shield Bash is a counter and it rapes with its endless range. Weaponsmaster has a cone-like hitbox and goes through walls.
2nd: Onion Knight and Shantotto. I'm still working on Shantotto.
3rd: I wanna use Exdeath, but I can't quite get a grip on him. Gotta learn how to use this guy.
You gotta level up the shit outta Exdeath to get his good moves. They purposely start you off with crap. After all, this is the character you can become nigh invincible with if you master him. They made you earn his true power! I mean, damn, they keep throwing you moves during several levels you don't even have enough CP to equip yet! You gotta level up even more just to equip the attack you got 5 levels ago!
When all is said and done, his moveset should look like this:
Brave (ground): Vaccuum Wave/Black Hole, High Block, Omni Block
Brave (air): Reverse Polarity, High Block, Omni Block
HP: Delta Attack, Almaghest, Grand Cross
When you have that setup, you have Exdeath as he should be. Now you just have to learn to time his @#%$!ing counters.
Aw, man… I gotta take a break from grindin' mah villains?!
If you want different summons, then you better learn to appreciate heroes young man! You have to eat your veggies before you can have any dessert!
By the way, how far along with your villians at this point?
I just realized that I fucking hate fighting high level versions of Cloud of Darkness.
Damn I just want to punch a fucking wall right now.
On another note, oh damn, I completely forgot about Jecht, he seems very powerful. I'll give him a try.
The high level CoD Manikin in WoL's story mode was a pain in the ass. Thankfully if you stay on her ass, you don't have to worry about her HP attacks nearly as much.
her fucking tentacles, god!! and her particle beams are a pain in the arse.
But her EX Burst is freaking crazy sweet! DBZ type shit!
Those tentacles are nasty as hell. Thankfully, I main Exdeath, so her entire melee game is gimped.
Void > Tentacles.
She has such cool-ass attacks, too. I just wish they belonged to a cooler character. Shit, she's so lame she only has ONE signature attack they had to work with for her HP attacks. Just some naked chick with a laser that pops up out of nowhere. Shit, she's barely even in Destiny Odyssey…!
Ah hell, I'm ranting again...

Yeah, but its from the FF3. It was either CoD or Xande. They chose correctly. At least she was mentioned early in the game.
Some of the choices were weird really. They chose Golbez, Kuja and Jecht without being the final boss (Garland is arguable because if I remember correctly he became Chaos?) because they were rivals or foils to the protagonist, but went with Emperor and Ultimecia even though story provides so much more reason to have gone with Leon and Seifer.
I hate that Exdeath and Golbez look exactly alike.
Oh, and I main Zidane, he's awesome if you are an aerial fighter. His higher moves are really good too, Free Energy is fast and Shift Break leaves only one escape route. Stellar Circle 9 is useful if pressured.
(I never knew it was supposed to be pronounced Zidd-on, I always thought Zidd-ain)
The only thing Exdeath and Golbez have in common is capes, armor, and pointy shoulder pads.
And I don't see how Golbez, Kuja, and Jecht are wierd choices. Zemus, Necron, and Yu Yevon would've been stupid choices… The choices were main villains, not anything super-specific where they had to choose certain characters. You fight Golbez for 80% of FF4, Kuja for 99% of 9, and Jecht had specific reasons he was chosen over Seymour.
Exdeath and Golbez have essentially the same armor, and since that is all you see, they look alike.
I thought all the character choices were perfect.
But that doesn't mean I liked the character choices.
The only character I WTFed over initially was Jecht, but the creators addressed that and quite frankly, I much prefer his utter manliness to someone like Seymour or whatever.
Firion just became a million times more awesome to me after learning his Double Trouble moves. I almost cried with joy when he finally learned HP attacks that weren't Straightarrow.
I've been experimenting with some of the villains today and I'm actually quite fond of Ultimecia. I prefer long-range fighting, and she's like a super long-range fighter. XD
And I'm finally getting bonus days outside of my special day. :D …After playing for 15 consecutive days.
Seymour sucks major wang. He was just a terrible villain in my opinion. Totally glad they went with Jecht.
Can't have too many suits of armor though. Exdeath and Golbez fucking rock. But honestly, I would have preferred Seifer over Ultimecia. I feel he'd complement Squall better storywise. Plus i'm sure he'd have been awesome to play as.
But Ultimecia is still pretty badass. I've been pummeled by a high level version of her once or twice.
^ Agreed. Thankfully, he wasn't as much the real villain as Sin was, so there's always that to save X's contribution to the rogue's gallery.

My thoughts exactly. With Kuja running around, Seymour might've been a little much. Add in the completely androgynous Cosmos side, and he would've been the straw that broke the ambiguously gay camel's back.
Jumping on the bandwagon from earlier, but I find the Cloud of Darkness such a bitch to fight against and it isn't so much her HP attacks, when you see how they travel then they're pretty easy to avoid, its that Goddamn TENTACLE RAPE SPHERE ATTACK that has the most ridiculous range and almost guaranteed to land one hit on you and send you flying.
And speaking of CoD, her HP attacks are kinda boring now that I think about it.
Particle Beam, Anti-Air Particle Beam, Wide-angle Particle Beam, 0-form Particle Beam, Particle Beam Lite, Ranch-flavored Particle Beam, Particle Beam with Real Bacon, the list goes on….:getlost:
I'm steadily beginning to hate Terra… Her overly-dainty "oh my god please don't hurt me" crap is really starting to make her the "what the crap are you doing in my fighting game" character. Coupled with the fact that her HP attack cries kinda make her sound like a damn hippie, and she spend half the fight crying "get away!", she's quickly become my punching bag character.
Can't stand her...

What is funny is that if you are good with her you can kick the ass of anyone :wassat::getlost:
She's so projectile-oriented, though, that characters that can close in easily or negate her projectiles pretty much kill her.

Yes if it is the CPU :getlost:

This is what makes Bartz a really fun character.
Because of his style, he not only takes the moves of the other Cosmos fighters, but he also imitates their tones and voices when using said attack, so Bartz actually has this funny Terra impersonation when you unleash "Holy" or "Flood" with him.
On another note, I'm going through the very last story mode, "Inward Chaos", and holy crap is it difficult…
In my time learning the challenge that is Exdeath, I'm finding that Omni Block is as useful as it is for a damn good reason: the timing required for that move is INSANE! It's only out for an instant, and it activates when you RELEASE the button. That said, oh my god it blocks virtually EVERYTHING! If I can master that timing… I. Will. Be. God!
This is what makes Bartz a really fun character.

Now I have to hear that…
To Bartz's credit, he's probably the only Warrior of Cosmos with a halfway decent personality.
@Mega:
Yes if it is the CPU :getlost:
Or if you're playing as Exdeath, Emperor, Cloud, Jecht, Squall, or Tidus.
eg3jEvkMGqY
Or Cloud of Darkness…
Now I have to hear that…
And its not just Terra, He also says Cecil's lines when he pulls off "Paladin Force" and "Soul Eater" in the appropriate "tone". He practically makes a mockery of every from the even numbered FF games
To Bartz's credit, he's probably the only Warrior of Cosmos with a halfway decent personality.
The world is in a state of chaos and quickly crumbling around him, and he responds by saying "Its time for some serious fun!"
When Exdeath tries to shake him up by saying that he will "wander in the Rift forever" he smiles (he DOES smile) and responds by saying "That doesn't sound half bad!'
I'd say this dork has the best personality in the whole friggin' game.
Yeah, I heard the Cecil impression. Made me chuckle.
Between Exdeath's already apparent greatness, and Bartz's awesome personality, I think I might have to finally play FF5 all the way through…
Oh, also, I fuggin' love Jecht...!
Bartz is pretty entertaining. XD Probably why he's the closest I have to a main in this game. His Destiny Odyssey was my favorite.
Trying out Inward Chaos and holy shit is it brutal. The enemy pretty much blocks and dodges everything. Blocking was always my weak point and now it's coming to bite me in the ass. XD I should probably practice that more before I continue.
Also, I hate how the CPU has all the best equipment. >:(
JECHT! IS! THE! SHIT! Jesus fuck I'm steamrolling characters many levels above me with this bastard!
Someone just joined Club Secondary! Golbez and Emperor just got a new friend!
Between Exdeath's already apparent greatness, and Bartz's awesome personality, I think I might have to finally play FF5 all the way through…
Funny thing about Final Fantasy V, it happens to be one of the main designer's favorite game so that kind of explains alot of the representation it has in Dissidia.
The FFV title animation with "Mambo de Chocobo" playing during DATA INSTALL, the "Job" cards in DUEL COLOSSEUM, the awesomeness of Bartz and Exdeath in this game…
Is it just me, or does Story Mode feel like a chore for anyone else? I dunno if it's the fact that I just don't give a shit about these Cosmos people, or perhaps the grade-A cheesiness of the story itself… And the villain appearances, refreshing as they are, are few and far between compared to scenes of the heroes running around talking about how much they believe in each other and fight for what's right...
Also, after playing story mode, I have come to this conclusion:
Exdeath is totally hittin' that.
How is that even possi-
You know what, I'm going to save myself from mental scarring and not think about it.
Though I'm wondering where you came to that conclusion because Cloud of Darkness is hardly in the story mode. Which I find to be kind of a shame.
I personally enjoyed the Destiny Odysseys the first time I played through them (though I seem to have a fairly high tolerance for extremely cheesy dialogue); it's when I'm going through them the second and third time that I become tired of them. I would stop, but my hidden OCD seems to surface whenever I play games. Thank goodness for the option to skip cutscenes.
You'll probably enjoy Shade Impulse a lot more. The story becomes more interesting and there's a fairly big focus on some of the villains as well.
Shade Impulse is okay, but I just want the damn Story Mode to be over so I can just unlock Duel Coliseum and the extra BGMs already…!
Though I'm wondering where you came to that conclusion because Cloud of Darkness is hardly in the story mode. Which I find to be kind of a shame.
In Shade Impulse, she tells Ultimecia how much she just looooves the Void, and how much it fascinates her. Guess who controls the Void…!
Oh, and Bartz has another plus to him: his HP chase attack is a Shoryuken!
Oh, that scene; I was too amused at Ultimecia apparently reading my mind by going ":| Why?" when Cloud of Darkness was like "I WANT THE WORLD TO BE SWALLOWED BY THE DARKNESS LIKE MOST OTHER GENERIC VILLAINS DO."
I've gotten better at blocking, though the enemy have such good equipment, I just mostly went from completely screwed to having a semblance of a chance of winning. Guess it's time to go farm for trade items and make my own awesome gear.
Also, I find it absolutely bullshit that after blocking the enemy, Terra and Bartz's Holy attacks fucking miss. They're at point blank range, how can you miss. Why did Terra's Flare to Ultima combo have to branch from Holy. :( I hope I'm just doing it wrong or something.
There are several projectile attacks that miss at point blank range. Garland's Blaze is also one of them. The "scatter shot" projectiles need to be fired from a distance.
Is it just me, or does Story Mode feel like a chore for anyone else?
Its pretty fun the first time around, but when you wanna go for 100% like I usually do, then it can get kinda tedious.
Did I mention that "Inward Chaos" is a pain in the ass? Since in the end you have to fight a level 110 Chaos.
Fucking
^Sigh…
Another reason why I wanted duel language tracks.
Kefka is done by Buggy's Seiyuu.
BUGGY'S FUCKING SEIYUU!!!!!!!
Yeah, Shigeru Chiba is probably one of my favorites of all time.
Oh well….
Kefka's english VA is pretty bitchin', so I could care less myself.
Buggy's english VA is decent, but he'll NEVER hold a candle to Chiba.
But I'm not losing any sleep at night, so it's inconsequential
You mean Kefka? 'Cause I'd beg to differ on the Buggy front. As for Kefka, I don't share the prevailing bromance for Chiba here, so again, no big loss.
right right, I meant Kefka.
never really took the time to listen to funi-buggy.
[EDIT] bromance aside, what's everyone's favorite summon?
ATM i'd say Deathgaze. (Manual summon, when activated, if the opponent's BRV is a multiple of 5, they immediately suffer break)
-now, at first I thought a multiple of 5 was stretching it. But it's quite deadly and great for when you're getting trounced by a high level CPU. Or for making your friends cry.
It's currently my favorite because it just helped me beat a really high level CoD in Shade Impulse that i've been stuck on.
I was in the middle of a chase and I saw her BRV drop to 2040 and I stuck it to her. One hit from my newly spiked BRV and the bitch was done!
I'd love to answer that question, but I can't get these summons for crap…! I swear, it's friggin' impossible to end these Destiny Odyssey boards with enough DP to get the summons.
So far though, it's auto Ifrit.
Kefka's english VA is pretty bitchin', so I could care less myself.
No argument there, Dave Wittenburg does a great job.
I still think it would've been nice to have the option. Because to me, its the same way I view anime, having the original language makes for another experience and thus its like getting 2 games in 1.
And what makes Chiba extra awesome is the fact that he improvised a good amount of his lines. But as with Gekko, I'm not gonna loose sleep over it, just a thought.
As for summons, I tend to just swap around depending on what the newest one I get is, but I like Odin (auto), Bahamut (auto), and I just recently got Omega. Omega is pretty deadly.

unfortunately for you, the trick to getting those summons is by taking all the cosmos characters through their stories about twice, the first time through getting at least a 3 star rank (to unlock rare battle pieces and blocked spaces and to level your character up a bit) and the second time to maximize your DP as well as collect any standing manual summons.
it's a pain in the ass and you HAVE to go through everyone's story to get all the summons.
Ah hell…
If only the cool secondary heroes were in this game, I could enjoy this story mode a helluva lot more... Cid, Vincent, Vivi, Quina, Steiner, Beatrix, Laguna, Edge, Setzer, Edgar... Now that's a crew of heroes whose story I'd give a damn about!
it's a chore. but the main character's aren't terrible to fight as. I'd recommend you skip through their story cutscenes though.

Bartz, Terra, and Zidane are entertaining.
But yeah, I'd trade Locke for Terra and Vivi for Zidane. But Bartz is still awesome IMO.
Bartz is the only saving grace of the Cosmos side…

Firion is. At least I finally got Malboro…
Also, I have learned that Terra and Ultimecia suck ass against Exdeath. Seriously, their HP attacks are so telegraphed and easy to read that I don't even need to time Omni-Block. If Terra uses Tornado, I just prepare Omni-Block while it pulls me closer, then release it when I'm close enough. Same with Ultimecia's Armageddon. Just wait for the center of that glyph to reach Exdeath, and release Omni-Block. Ultimecia's worse off, since virtually all her brave attacks are easily stopped by High Block. Like Shantotto, but not as bad.
Those two only have one HP attack each that Exdeath can't effortlessly counter, and both are easy as hell to dodge (Flood and Shockwave Pulsar). So, if you run into a skilled Exdeath player, do not pick those two.
shockwave pulsar is a joke. The fact that it functions as a grenade makes it completely useless while in midair.
