very good chapter this time around. I was behind a chapter, so I got caught up. The scene of Torkio finding the jewel meat was just great.

Stayjun is a broken robot and Kamatsu (is that his name?) is downright awesome, even though crying he did not back down from Stayjun at all. To me that made him a respectable character.

It takes a while before Viz picks up series… I know it's over 100 chapters. Could be more. After that the speed depends on the popularity.
I translated chapter 52 because it had like 8 or so sentences in it besides sound afffects and shouting people's names.

I'm not entirely sure, but I think everybody turned out alive in the end? The wolf did, but I'm not sure about Rin still. It looks like a happy ending though.

Apparantly the death omen was on Toriko, and when his cells evolved he sort of overcame death at the time. Or the death omen, anyway. It was different from just saying the "death omen was wrong" again.
The next arc has Zebra it seems.

Actually i think the death omen was on Rin. She was killed, well at least it looks that way. It hasn't been fully confirmed but by the way they were talking it makes me think she is.

^agreed. The pace is very good. It has a great style to it. The whimsical nature and wacky designs of One Piece meets the muscle bound martial arts of Hokuto no Ken.

but it could easily be assumed that they kissed off-panel. I mean… it would seem weird of him to just spit in her mouth...

I know that it was his saliva, but I felt kiss would sound better then spit.
Of course he could have spit in her mouth, she could be kinky that way, after all she was thinking about his poop. But frankly I think we should end this direction of this conversation right here.

I was glad that Toriko wasn't able to put the jewel meat in his menu. It's obviously a great meat dish, it's just the comment that was made by Coco in chapter 9 about what the meat dish should be, "thick and heavy", didn't really seem to fit that numerous tastes of the jewel meat.
Plus, although I was surprised when Sani kicked the name away from his menu, I agree with the idea that the jewel meat is better suited for him since it makes people glow. It fits the "beautiful" theme of his.
I thought it was a great chapter.

Dunno if anyone read my post earlier about a Toriko video game, but that would be awesome. Seriously. This manga is BOUND to get an anime eventually (it's popular in Japan), so it's only natural that a video game for a fighting anime would follow.
A video game that follows the plot would be absolutely amazing. Throw in VS mode? The game could be a Toriko fan's dream. Damn. VS Mode would just be kickass. We don't really have enough muscle-bound badasses for a balanced roster, so a few monsters would have to be thrown in (like boss monsters you fight in the campaign). Damn. Getting excited just talking about it.

Yeah, it'll get an anime eventually. But they take until like issue 100 or more before that ever happens. Sometimes a littler earlier. But it's gotten a fairly consistent high ranking in Jump, right around where Bleach is, sometimes above it. And the volumes have sold pretty well, too.

Just goes to show that the Hokuto no Ken style is still popular if it gets a chance.

This manga is so good for filler too. Unlike Bakuman which will probably have to wait until the series is over, Toriko could easily put in random hunts, random robo fights, and not have it be awkward like the Bleach fillers.

I hate Toriko. I have to settle for eating a disgusting floppy cheeseburger, and everyone else in the story is eating meat so good that the juice sparkles in the air like fireworks. I mean I just can't stand how delicious they make everything seem!
But seriously, that was a great chapter. I kinda hope Toriko gets to add the Jewel Meat to his menu. That Rainbow Fruit is getting kind of lonely.

One-time OVAs basically lead to animes. Like with Tegami Bachi, had one and is supposed to get an anime next year or this year, I forget. Somewhere it got announced. -
